My favorite example of this is the person who wrote a "DUDE WHAT IF SITCOM LIFE WAS ACTUALLY REALLY DARK WHEN THE CAMERAS ARE OFF" show and admitted that she had only ever seen one (1) sitcom which she hated
That was a really creative show visually. Would have made for a great short film. Instead they turnes the one joke into a whole series and got themselves cancelled.
It fumbled near the end because (1) everything everyone else says about the main character is right, she's just as bad as her husband, (2) the entire thing was for no reason and she learned nothing, and most importantly, (3) they never acted on the "twist" and made Kevin into an actual wife-beating monster or something, he really was just a dumb oaf, so basically just like her. What a waste of Annie Murphy and Mary Holis Inboden. They probably delayed Righteous Gemstones so they could shoot this too.
>I remember when Juno stood out for its dialogue, before Joss Whedon turned irony and quips into an industry standard that EVERY studio copies because he made 2 billion dollars from it
I do too, homosexual.
The characters in Juno are TEENAGERS. Characters in Willow, Marvel movies and fricking Forspoken are NOT.
I've never seen Juno, is Willow a character from Juno?
I recall seeing the movie poster at the time... Upon seeing the pregnant girl, I figured I wasn't part of the target audience and just never watched it.
Oh, I remember Juno. That was written by some woman who was going to be the next big thing or something and then she just vanished. Also, is Jason Reitman the guy that turned out to be a serial rapist? Or was that some other famous director's kid?
Jason Reitman directed the newest Ghostbusters movie, so presumably if he's a nonce it hasn't been found yet at least.
It was written by Diablo Cody, the same writer as Jennifer's Body which was also quite famous. I think nowadays she just does TV or some shit.
Diablo Cody still writes good stuff, but culture and society have moved on. She's problematic because she made the wine aunt movie.
The serial sex pest was Max Landis. His dad is the guy who decapitated two small Vietnamese kids and paid like a 50 dollar fine.
Sidenote: allegations against Max came out after he appeared on Red Letter Media. Allegations against Justin Roiland came out after he did voices for Red Letter Media.
Um, sweaty, that's transphobic to assume the gender of people getting pregnant are men.

Sorry, that won't work, dearie 🙂
Men and women can get pregnant. Men and women can have periods. Men and women can play the roles in movies about getting pregnant. Please take your TERF shit leave, thanks!

I'm sorry did you just suggest to go to /misc/? Gosh, why are you trying to brainwash me into being an alt right fascist? I'm sorry but I won't partake in that, you're just going to go have to hang out with your chud buddies on your own time.
In the context of the tweet, it's a recent show that is a sequel to Willow the movie, an obscure fantasy film from the 80's that was similar to Dark Crystal: a bit too high concept for general audiences.
It sux because it's the opposite of one of the main, grounding draws in low fantasy/sci-fi/extreme crime drama stories: professionals dealing with extraordinary circumstances. A big reason why early SCP was so popular!
Eleven people wrote for the Legacy of Kain franchise in total. The only one Amy Hennig was the main writer for was Defiance. She did not create the franchise. I don't know why people keep acting like it's all hers. >You're going to say she did nothing for Naughty Dog too
No. I already said she wrote the vastly overrated Uncharted. It's just a poor man's Indiana Jones. Big fricking deal.
>She did not create the franchise.
Sure, she was only a Writer, Director and a Designer for Soul Reaver games, Blood Omen and Blood Omen 2 are different people, but guess which games people remember?
And then she went and invented Sony Cinematic Game genre with a critically and financially successful franchise. You could try to spin it as you like, but she played an important part in the success of these franchises.

That's not much of a rebuttal, she was the main writer for soul reaver games and the argument is that the writing was good. When people suck off Druckmann they do it for the same reasons.
His "fall" has been really comical. One second he's the champion of feminism and hero of progressiveness. The next, he's Hitler who has black slaves in his home plantation and beat up women that he chained in his basement.
But I didn't like Juno either. The same people who liked Juno are the same people who like quippy dialogue now.
And quippy dialogue is in everything now.
Not sure what point they're making, I've always found it cringe.
the quippy dialogue was fine 20 years ago because there was only a couple of guys doing it but after the success of the avengers and marvel movies now its in almost everything and it's just so obnoxious and unfunny and fake
Never have seen Juno. I thought Buffy was pretty good but that is because it felt different. The issue is not that Forspoken has modern quippy dialogue, it is that Forspoken + 10,000 other Video Games/Movies/Comics/TV Shows/Cartoons have that bullshit dialogue too (and they all came before it). It is completely valid to complain about a style of writing that has absolutely inundated the creative industry since the success of the MCU and films that followed a similar tone.
This is not new in the world of video games. The problem is funny people don't write video games. Geeks write video games. The geeks' idea of comedy is referencing media they've consumed, being sarcastic and just being LOL SO RANDOM. That's all "funny" video games have ever been since the dawn of time. It's just only now are you morons actually starting to notice.
first of all, people hated Juno for its dialogue too
second of all, even if people liked it then >2007 >2023
16 years of quirky dialogue, growing more prevalent every fricking year from then to now
of course people are growing sick of it
Are we talking about the original Willow? Because that was a good 80's fantasy movie and nothing like this. The new Disney+ abomination based on it is basically the Forspoken of TV shows though.
>Because that was a good 80's fantasy movie
No, it wasn't. It was meh. I have no idea why they decided to revive Willow other than middle-aged millennials will recognize the name though probably not actually remember the film because they haven't seen it since they were 8 years old.
willow was good. it wasnt amazing or anything but it had that schlocky sword and sorcery feel while actually having a budget. all those "ai images of [video game] imagined as an 80s dark fantasy movie" pictures always looked like a willow screengrab.
Woke idiot displays no understanding whatsoever of cited works and has zero grasp of the nuances between them in order to make an invalid, reductionist point. I am very shocked by this.
>people tolerated quippy dialogue back when every mainstream product wasn't all quippy
Stop the effing presses.
Sitcom dialogue has been around since the 1980s
Yes but the people crying about them weren't exposed to them
My favorite example of this is the person who wrote a "DUDE WHAT IF SITCOM LIFE WAS ACTUALLY REALLY DARK WHEN THE CAMERAS ARE OFF" show and admitted that she had only ever seen one (1) sitcom which she hated

Not to mention "Sorkinisms"
>folks
>She
>Folks
I don't know who/what Willow and Juno are.
Zoom zoom zoom
Yeah zoom zoom zoom zoom
midge and the man from last of us preggers
Juno was a movie about a pregnant teenage girl who spoke like a 2006 white teenage girl and Willow was sort of like Buffy in terms of quips
I don't know what movie you saw, but that was a pregnant teenage boy.
>folks
stopped reading there
>folks
nope
my brain shuts off whenever someone uses this word
WELL HOWDY FOLKS!
same with "y'all"
its an instant tell that the person has a delfated brain and can be immediately disregarded.
I don't play games aimed at the western audience starring women. Simple as that.
The Black person just extra super double solidifies me not playing it is all.
>I don't play games aimed at the western audience starring women
But you're endlessly seethe at it and have it live rent-free in your head for some reason?
>STOP SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT MY PRODUC... I MEAN, UH, RENT FREE!
Like you weebs aren't just as easily triggered by criticism of your weebshit.
>But you're endlessly seethe at it
hello sirs
>I know, I'll hide the fact my shitty thread is about a twitter screencap by hiding most of the post!

Juno is about a pregnant man you fricking chud
Willow tv show dialogue was fricking gay.
>modern day dialogue in fantasy worlds
that's what this twitter troony enjoys, it's fricking stupid.
What the frick is a Juno
I guess another superhero movie? Fantasy movie?
I am surprised a 'good ally' would even name this movie. Isn't that like deadnaming or some shit?
Oh, I remember Juno. That was written by some woman who was going to be the next big thing or something and then she just vanished. Also, is Jason Reitman the guy that turned out to be a serial rapist? Or was that some other famous director's kid?
You're thinking of Max Landis. Jason Reitman doesn't have any controversies.
>You're thinking of Max Landis.
Oh right. That fricker. Never actually saw any of his films but I did see him on RLM and really disliked him.
Jason Reitman directed the newest Ghostbusters movie, so presumably if he's a nonce it hasn't been found yet at least.
It was written by Diablo Cody, the same writer as Jennifer's Body which was also quite famous. I think nowadays she just does TV or some shit.

Juno, the fictional character, is female. She’s just played by a male actor.
really makes me think
Another white man taking away an opportunity for a woman.
o_o
Sounds pretty sexist, a man taking a way a role about being pregnant from an actual woman. When do we get twitter to cancel them for this?
Men can get pregnant as well, and men can have periods. Looks like you still have some growing up to do.

It's a fantasy in that a modern, affluent, white teenage girl decides she morally can't justify an abortion.
The only Juno I know is MegaMan Juno from Mega Man Legends
>y'all
Marvel ruined media.
I hated Juno too
>I remember Juno
I don't and I'm older than whoever wrote that garbage.
I don't know what Willow OR Juno are and I fricking hate the dialog in Forspoken.
What the frick is willow?
Some stoner lotr knock-off starring warwick davis
In the context of the tweet, it's a recent show that is a sequel to Willow the movie, an obscure fantasy film from the 80's that was similar to Dark Crystal: a bit too high concept for general audiences.
women are literally never right, even when they agree with me
It sux because it's the opposite of one of the main, grounding draws in low fantasy/sci-fi/extreme crime drama stories: professionals dealing with extraordinary circumstances. A big reason why early SCP was so popular!
But I dislike all three for the same reasons. So you are correct if you acknowledge that the real beef is with poor dialogue deliverd by idiots.
Willow the series, the 3 episodes I endured, was awful.
here are your writers
Amy Hennig was great back in the day. I guess she's been tainted by Star Wars
Great at what? Writing the quippy Uncharted? People need to stop giving her credit for Legacy of Kain because it's not hers.
Whose is it? You're going to say she did nothing for Naughty Dog too, and it was all Druckman?
Eleven people wrote for the Legacy of Kain franchise in total. The only one Amy Hennig was the main writer for was Defiance. She did not create the franchise. I don't know why people keep acting like it's all hers.
>You're going to say she did nothing for Naughty Dog too
No. I already said she wrote the vastly overrated Uncharted. It's just a poor man's Indiana Jones. Big fricking deal.
Indiana Jones just ripped off Tomb Raider anyway.
>She did not create the franchise.
Sure, she was only a Writer, Director and a Designer for Soul Reaver games, Blood Omen and Blood Omen 2 are different people, but guess which games people remember?

>Willow/Foreshit
>not set in contemporary suburban America
>Folks
Trash it goes.
Fine. "Folx".
Happy now, you ESL latinx.
Why not go pure reddit and say "foak" kind stranger.
juno was shit
Amy Hennig is one of the the best video game writers around, the writing wont' be shit.
joss whedon and its consequences have been a disaster for modern entertainment
His "fall" has been really comical. One second he's the champion of feminism and hero of progressiveness. The next, he's Hitler who has black slaves in his home plantation and beat up women that he chained in his basement.
I could ignore it, but with Amy Hennig involved there are standards to be met
But I didn't like Juno either. The same people who liked Juno are the same people who like quippy dialogue now.
And quippy dialogue is in everything now.
Not sure what point they're making, I've always found it cringe.
People on the ground after the first plane hit
>OH NO THEY DIH-UNT
Captain America after seeing people leap off the buildings to their death
>"Next time, but leave flight to the Avengers. :)"
the quippy dialogue was fine 20 years ago because there was only a couple of guys doing it but after the success of the avengers and marvel movies now its in almost everything and it's just so obnoxious and unfunny and fake
>probably also hated on Willow
everyone "hated on" Willow
>I remember Juno
I don't.

It was predicted.

>Geeks
Just write autists for frick's sake.
>funny people don't write video games. shitters write video games
geeks used to write decent video games before 2007
first of all, people hated Juno for its dialogue too
second of all, even if people liked it then
>2007
>2023
16 years of quirky dialogue, growing more prevalent every fricking year from then to now

I like watching Juno on mute so I can fap to pre-mutilation Ellen Page.
Surely there's better gay porn to fap to out there?
Cliff Coyle's facebook
>Willow
>Juno
What the FRICK are those
Juno was shit too, just like all of Jason Reitman's films. What's this idiot's point?
I thought this pic was talking about Willow with the midge who wanted to sue Ganker.
is it not? im trying to figure out why willow is getting collateralled because of forspoken. i liked willow.
Are we talking about the original Willow? Because that was a good 80's fantasy movie and nothing like this. The new Disney+ abomination based on it is basically the Forspoken of TV shows though.

I hate quippy dialogue AND blacks
it's not mutually exclusive
Juno was fricking garbage
Juno was a terrible movie for many reasons.
it's cringey, it's unclever, it's homosexual ass shit for 13 year olds. frick Black folk
i don't know what a willow or a juno is suipposed to be
Woke idiot displays no understanding whatsoever of cited works and has zero grasp of the nuances between them in order to make an invalid, reductionist point. I am very shocked by this.
