Agreed. By far the best boss fight in any of their games. Nothing even comes close.

I thought Ariandel was very comfy and well designed and I don't know why people dislike it so much.

a fast, hard hitting and aggressive boss
with 3 phases and 3 health bars
literally cannot be beaten when you go in blind with skill and pre-existing game knowledge like almost all DS1 bosses, instead involves trial and error until you have all the patterns memorized or luck out

this is where these games become an exercise in sheer autism
only grind loving asiabug fricks enjoy shit like this
only thing missing from the cancer bingo is having some trash mobs in the boss arena to frick with the player some more

low effort design like this is one of the many reasons DS1 is considered a timeless masterpiece but DS3 and ER are just trash in comparison

Yeah bro i'm sure you walked through Capra Demon's boss fog for the first time and knew exactly what to do via skill and pre-existing knowledge.

        Not him but I did
Although I also had no problem with Sister Friede so he's still a moron

that would mean he'd have to play the game

Phase 1 is cool to teach you her move set alone, phase 2 is really cool, especially once you finally learn how to manage avoiding the frost and lure ariandel around.
    Phase 3 ruins the fight.
I know so many boss move sets in this game, but I still don't know her phase 3 moves entirely, I only know three that let you actually punish her, otherwise it's just running from her and hoping she doesn't snag you while you're trying to get away from a wall.

phase 2 is the worst because it's just a mess trying to wrangle the chairtard

So you judge the quality of a boss fight by your ability to learn all moves by heart?

You'd think that would make him like the boss more given the hurdle

nta but kinda yeah? having a varied and interesting but fair moveset is not only fun but memorable, I love friede for the feeling of progression leaning her moveset going from your first few attempts of being on the back foot to ng+ and new characters knowing her whole sthick by heart and being able to go on the offensive and flawless victory her very quickly with the memory of all the times she absolutely btfo you the first time you tried to beat her

my least favorite ds3 bosses are demon princes and twin princes and gundyr (tutorial not champion) for moveset related reasons too; demon princes have a fairly simplistic moveset, and way too much health, the battle is long and boring. twin princes phase 1 teleportation; I to this day still don't really understand what triggers it, it feels like an rng battle, sometimes he spams it till I'm out of stamina from rolling and I die without landing a single hit, other times he doesn't use it at all or only uses it sparingly and I get phase 2 without taking a single hit; have ng looped and new characters many many times, to this day still don't understand how that works; phase 2 seems a lot more consistent, phase 1 always feels like a coin toss. Lastly tutorial gundyr; phase 2; idgi, I know what the 'really big' openings are to go in for the kill or just use firebombs or something, but most of that phase is extremely difficult if not impossible to read and just feels random (the tree spirits in ER really remind me of him actually and I'm not a big fan of them either)

It's not like if I learned what any of her other moves were, I'd have a better strategy, running around and waiting for the punishable moves is the least risky strategy. I also play as unleveled characters, and don't upgrade estus , so I literally have to no-hit bosses at this point in the game.

best souls boss of all time, can't wait for ER:DLC where you step out of a painting of a giant yellow tree in firelink and are greeted by friede and firekeeper being all "welcome back lord of hollows hope you had an enjoyable vacation, lordran needs you again, the moon became a cthulu and your subjects are turning into werewolves, ooh wanna feel I think the baby just kicked

I hate the fricking dragon part.
At least I did, but then I did a full sorc run and killed the dragon before it took off again after the initial landing.

Why is this guy considered so hard? not saying "lmao he's easy u suk" or anything, but idk why he has such a reputation; gameplay-wise I didn't find him particularly memorable (for positive or negative reasons) compared to a lot of other bosses, I didn't first attempt him to be sure, but there are certainly other bosses which killed me quite a few more times than him until I finally figured them out compared to him and elicited some 'frick yeah' fistpump feeling when I finally did (namely pontiff and friede who I'd say are my favorites in 3; and I guess I'd say gael and for some reason dragonslayer armor gave me one hell a hard time) Nameless was like yeah ok that was pretty cool, I mainly remember fricking up the jump attack on the big dragon when you enter his zone and having to do that again to go get my souls from the ledge because I jumped off and somehow missed landing the attack the first time and just splatted on the ground. I guess the DSSS was pretty cool, I know I got my first midir kill with it and always fight midir with it as a 'tradition' now because it's pretty good at zapping his head when it's out of melee range

I think it's just the initial caught you moment of him facing off against you after the King of the Storm fight which can be a nightmare the first few times and then just tedious once you master it
His moves are easy to get down though and sticking close to him like many of the bosses is really effective

The two things noticable about the dragon gay are the awful camera during the dragon fight and the fake-out attacks making you mis-time your dodges.
        Otherwise he's pretty generic.

I think it's more about the coolness factor of the fight. Map, setting, shit like that.

          >fake-out attacks making you mis-time your dodges.
kek you have a point here, I was actually playing some other actiony soulslike games recently and had to almost 'decondition' myself from Elden Ring delayed attacks dodge/parry to go back to reflex based, 3 was much more reasonable with just having those in a select few places like nameless as you mentioned, and I remember dancer doing a lot of those; versus nearly everywhere
