  1. How can people get caught up in a SINGLE scene so much? Makoto’s romance route is one of the worst ones and she doesn’t even care at all if you refuse her.

Meanwhile Yoshizawa literally tells you she loves you before romancing her and Haru becomes depressed if you refuse her, and she’s still sad about it in Valentine’s Day if you don’t pick her.

How Makoto became so popular and the "canon waifu", I’ll never understand.

    • How can you delude yourself into thinking that Atlus doesn’t wank their precious waifu characters while shitting on the characters they hate?

      • Like I said, I don’t understand how a single gag scene can leave such an impression on people. Aside from the scene in Sojiro’s house everything else is just Makotohomosexuals grasping at straws, shit like "Oh look Makoto is near Joker they SO want to fuck".

    • Kasumi was made to be the canon girl in Royal because they needed to make players care about her. But I absolutely agree that if there were to be a canon girl it would have to be the one that expresses the most amount of romantic feelings towards Joker outside of the romance route, which is Haru.

What "single scene" are you referring to?
The scene where she magically blackmails Joker with zero solid evidence that he’s a PT and he just goes along with it?
The scene where she solves a puzzle in the game for the player and then admonishes you if you say ‘thank you’ wrong?
The scene where she decides to do the calling card herself and sends you home like a little cuck?
The scene where she suddenly is pretending to act scared to inspire waifuhomosexualry during Futaba’s introduction?
The scene where she suddenly needs help getting off the floor and it’s framed as romantic despite it being in the middle of a bossfight for another girl’s character development?
The scene where she suddenly acts like she has an established rivalry with Akechi despite having virtually no screentime with him?
The scene where she suddenly knows exactly how Mementos works and explains it to the party?
The scene where she details how she came up with the most important plan in the game all on her own?
Or one of the many, many other scenes where she tells everyone else in the party what to do because nobody is allowed to have any agency or come up with a good idea as long as Makoto Sue is in the room?

Literally how much evidence do you need before you accept that she is far and away the obvious favourite and the devs did everything possible to try and force you to like her?
She is even worse than Marie in that regard because at least Marie doesn’t force the MC sit at home while she does all the important shit in the story.

        • I’m willing to chalk that up to coincidence since ‘jack of all trades starts weak but becomes godtier at the end of the game’ is sort of a recurring theme in jrpgs and it’s not like Atlus have ever given a shit about balance.
