I actually enjoyed ruthless and the slower progression, the zoom zoom meta the game has become is cancer but Chris needs to sort out the hundreds of skills on the game so they’re actually good and fun to use otherwise it’s just gonna be the 1 active and passives kinda meta. Like Righteous fire, trappers, SRS all the boring shit is the only thing you can use to get through the utter cancer that is the acts

They didn't pull back shit though. Enemies are as fast and highly damaging as ever, and therefore player is forced to find solutions that will keep him up to pace. The only thing that changed is the amount of such solutions available to player, and not in increasing direction.
PoE2 is inevitable really, if you play now you'll notice very clearly that there are tons of new assets in game that are clearly made for PoE2 that are integrated via the current league mechanic. Heist added those technomancer guys who aren't in the campaign, tilesets like cold river, grave trough, crimson township. There's also a bunch of bosses that will undoubted be PoE 2 bosses like the candle guy in Sanctum or the bloody priest guy in Crimson Township Map

I think they are massively devaluing poe2 by doing that. Every boss in poe2 will actually be known to players as "that one map boss" instead of being new. I already experienced this with acts 6-10, when even the non-revisits were just tilesets from newer maps.

Main thing they teach, is that player is supposed to be eternally frustrated and annoying chasing that sweet carrot. If player is satisfied, that means player will leave. What will be made slow, is your progression to next piece of content. Diablo 4 will be utter NuBlizz trash. They are incapable of making good games now. In their latest D4 livestream they said that "Diablo 3 skill trees were overwhelming for most players".
PoE 2 will be great although flawed. The skill tree is still a god tier filter against plebians. GGG adhearing to the 3-4 month content cycle means they will never deliver a level of polish that the game could be perfected.

There's other options in the genre but they aren't up to quality and probably never will (Last Epoch, Wolcen, etc). So just play another genre really.

D4 is looking good as experience and gameplay, I don't really expect it to be too good, but I do want to play it
PoE is not in a great spot right now (I play every league since beta) the devs take some really obtuse choices about balance and expansion development. not everyone is happy
and then again PoE2 is an ethereal dream right now, considering the amount of work they're gonna drop in the new game. Exilecon is this year, and they'll announce the final release date
