Twin snakes is horrible. they put MGS 2 features in the game which sounds good but the game design doesnt allow it so it breaks the game entirely. You can snipe everyone with the goddamn tranq gun from 100 km away without them ever noticing you.
I played the original MGS1 and it just felt like I was driving Snake around rather than controlling a human being. Might be worth playing TS if the controls are better
Its the same controls almost. they just allow you to shoot people in first person like MGS 2 but it breaks the game since they havent adjusted the game design to compensate for that.

This is bullshit, MGS2 is just as easy for the same reason. If you don't like fps show some restraint and don't use it, it plays the same as the PS1 version. TTS is worth it for not having bobblehead cutscenes and getting rid of those shitty accents. I can't believe some people prefer the original recordings when the new ones are more cohesive with the series portrayals.

Not him but thats some shit taste.
How the fuck can you say the voice acting is better in Twin snakes?
lol unironically yes, original just sounds like Hayter mumbling into the mic with the same drone. Twin Snakes he actually remembers he's the legendary Solid Snake, suave and hamming it up with some range. It's pretty much like 2, his peak performance.
I'll give you the objectively better ways of playing these games >MGS 1
Duckstation, PS1 emulator >MGS 2
PC version, then use the fan patch (I think it's called "V's Fix") >MGS 3
not really sure honestly, if your PC can handle emulating the HD Collection version, then use either Xenia or RPCS3, but if you have a mid range PC, play the PCSX2 version, though beware that the game suffers from frequent slowdowns in the final section, nothing unplayable, just a little annoying
How have you not played these games yet, but post on Ganker.
This shit i would assume is essential video game core, its not something obscure.
Probably emulated, but the 360 ports of mgs2/3 were very well done
bro my parents are cheap fuckers and only ever bought a gamecube and a wii for our household. It would've been a dream if i had a playstation or xbox as a kid.
I'm debating whether to bother playing any of them. I had already played Splinter Cell and maybe even Hitman Contracts by the time I tried MGS2 and I just bounced right off of it. /Maybe/ Subsistence is "modern" enough that I can enjoy playing it full stealth (and if I did I might spend enough time with it to try getting a good rating). As it is, MGSV is the only one I've played despite being familiar with the series. I'd probably have tried MGS4 if it weren't more movie than game.
Emulate the PS2 version of MGS3 because its the only version with Monkey Business and Secret Theatre, for 1&2 they were on GOG, but they've since taken down 2 presumably because Konami didn't want it competing with the port
Play it emulated, don't be a gay and pay Konami for decade old games.
Use original OST mod for Twin Snakes. (smd PS1 purists)
For MGS2 play PC port with V's Fix and Substance of Subsistence mod
For MGS3 I personally prefer the 3DS version on Citra with 60fps mod.
MGS4 plays great on RPCS3
Play twin snakes then play 2 and 3 on rpcs3
I know the controls are better plus some other QOL shit but isn't the voice acting and some of the cutscenes a bit too over the top?

enjoy Ching-chong and Dr. British

>three different takes of the same line by same actors
You can emulate them or get one of the collections for PS3/PS4
Twin Snakes should be played after playing MGS1
It improves significantly if you consider it a retelling from one of the supporting characters
>Play twin snakes
This is your official screenshot bro from the collection
>Same game

Nah, it's
>MGS1
PS1 hooked up to a CRT TV.
>MGS2
same
>MGS3
HD Collection on Xbox through backcompat.
they would need to be played by the same actor because they are clones.
chronological order or bust
Release order or bust
Play Metal Gear Solid 1 with the original TL, then never play another MGS game. The others are all Kojima brain parasite fangames
Emulate the first one and then drop that shit, its not worth it
>MGS Emulation threads will be gone after the Collection release
end of an era
How have you not played these games yet, but post on Ganker.

MGS3 on PCSX2 has awful fucking input lag. Don’t emulate it.
You should have a nice day for not playing them already retard.
this
how have you not played them already? are you 12? do you even own the discs for PS1?
bro my parents are cheap fuckers and only ever bought a gamecube and a wii for our household. It would've been a dream if i had a playstation or xbox as a kid.
Not a pretext start working already zoomie
bro i my first job was when I was 17 and I was blowing all my cash so i could bang my highschool girlfriend at the drive in theaters

keep it that way
this image is good shit, i like it.
many thanks to whoever did it.

Whatever you do don't play Twin Snakes until you've played MGS1 original first, Twin Snakes genuinely seems like a parody.
I was playing MG and can someone please tell me how do I properly deal with those jet pack morons at the end of the game?
