>because while ghosts can't hurt humans
I've never really understood this... Doesn't every culture from around the world have tales of evil spirits that can harm, or at the very least negatively affect you in some way?
Ghost's whole gimmick is that it's immune to Normal. If you have to buff normal, just give it a passive like how Dark is immune to Prankster and Grass is immune to powder moves. Normal could be immune to Infatuate or something. Normal is kind of a good type anyways, it doesn't really need a buff.
Yes. Maybe Fairy weak to it. See . Also remember that Inverse Battles, which Normal is broken in due to its moves lacking any type that resists them, were a thing. Should it return, a change in the matchup for balance should be in mind.
What type, existing or not, would be weak to Normal? I remember thinking that a Light type might be weak to Normal for some silly reasons (a normal person can turn off or block a light). But I don't know what kind of type should be afraid of the plain and average.
And from a game design perspective, *should* Normal have a type it's super effective against (that's the exact question OP is asking oops)? Normal is supposed to be the plain, all-rounder type, giving it a type weak against it defeats the whole point of it being a plain and simple type
My thinking is Fairy, because 1) Fairy is already kind of overpowered, and 2) it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to rationalize the weakness (Normal = Reality = The absence of the fantastical, like Fairies).
I can see this backfiring, though, for the reasons you mentioned and also because that logic implies normal should also be strong against / resist other types like Psychic and Dragon.
Super affective against Normal, Psychic, Dark, and Leaf-types (This is from my original game: The Hyperverse. Wiki coming soon.)
Not very affective against Rock, Steel, and Dragon-types.
Weak to Normal and Ghost-types.
Resists Bug, Psychic and Dark-types.
Weird type was discovered by Professor Helleaf (Actually based on my dad!) when on an expedition to the Hyper Continent with the main character and his rival, Sheldon. They discovered that multiple Pokemon where actually Weird Types, like the Slowbro line. They also discovered a Weird Type Pokemon called Necrevil that is Dark/Weird and consists of a big buff (OK, maybe a little handsome) wolf that is capable of eating humans and Pokemon and turning them into more beautiful female versions of themselves when they come out.
Like shadow Pokemon, regular Pokemon can go "Weird Mode". In this form they become the most beautiful female versions of themselves and are surrounded by a "Weird" aura that is basically the shadow aura but pink. When in Weird Mode, Pokemon can breed with the same gender as long as they are also in Weird Mode. It is also possible for a trainer to eat their Pokemon when in Weird Mode!
I think this is the best way to about this, because Normal Type needs to be better. And Smogon WON'T ban Weird Types.
Alien type that's weak to poison, bug and normal because normies are riddled with germs that kills the aliens because their immune systems aren't used to Earth diseases.
they should give Larry a spin-off series
anon, it's been a decade. I don't think they're going to rework fairy
Can they at least rework Ice?
Can you stop being a goddamn gay or have a nice day?
It took them 14 years to rework Steel, there's a chance.
Ghost should have always been weak to Normal, because while ghosts can't hurt humans, humans can simply not believe in ghosts.

it’s because normies don’t believe in ghosts

trannies
Fairy should be
I still think fairy should have been weak to normal. Normalcy (growing up) kills the imagination and the child like wonder.

>I don't believe in fairies!
That's stupid and a dramatic misrepresentation of the normal type.

What about a "Weird" type?
They can be super-affective against each other.
WEIRD TYPE:
Super affective against Normal, Psychic, Dark, and Leaf-types (This is from my original game: The Hyperverse. Wiki coming soon.)
Not very affective against Rock, Steel, and Dragon-types.
Weak to Normal and Ghost-types.
Resists Bug, Psychic and Dark-types.

...What?
Asperger's syndrome
I've seen hacks that have an "Abnormal" type which is super effective against normal but weak to everything else. It sucks.
Sorry but eyes are fucking burning from reading that second part bud.
Cyber Type
Weak to Normal, Psychic and Bug
Resists Ghost
Immune to Fairy
>why would they be weak to b-
>ohhhhhh
Anything weak to Normal would immediately become the worst type in the game. Everything gets Normal coverage.
I think Fairy should be weak to Normal.
I additionally think Dark and Fairy should be weak to each other and Ghost should resist Fairy.
Only if you admit Wobbuffet is wonderful.
In Peter Pan, can't you kill Tinkerbell, a literal Fairy, by telling her that you don't believe in fairies?
they should call it NEET type
Bug should be weak to normal
and strong against Fairy
No, but they should remove rock’s resistance to normal
Absolutely not, rock gets it bad enough as it is.
Poison should be weak against Steel, because corrosion.
Contrarian type
Alien type that's weak to poison, bug and normal because normies are riddled with germs that kills the aliens because their immune systems aren't used to Earth diseases.
