I don't know either. The French actually fired on Americans as they tried landing, but that didn't last long and didn't do much. But Germans slaughtering Americans didn't happen in North Africa, unless it was some small landing for some small operation. Maybe he's thinking of Anzio in Italy right after the North African campaign?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_African_campaign_(World_War_I) the east africa campaign of WW1 is some the best guerilla warfare in history.

Yes, it would make perfect sense. I actually kinda sorta unironically want to play CNA, but it's reportedly virtually unplayable. Bookkeeping being done by computers would solve this issue.

To actually answer your question OP, no. Campaign for North Africa was a literal troll game that the designer happily admitted he never once playtested. I don't even think its possible to finish a game.
If you want an actually good wargame try Rommel in the Desert.

The market would be so infinitesimally small the only way to justify its existence would be to be a lone dev who makes it yourself.

COD 2 had some fragments of it. They cant make accurate historical games nowdays because they absolutely must include their diversity fantasies and ruin all realism.

There were plenty of CPC 464 games about the Africa campaign. Just lots of ww2 in general.

I am very surprised there are only a few games with North Africa setting, lots of WW2 games focus more on Europe so it ends up being green and brown unless there's snow, hell even some games lack the Pacific

It's because Europe is the center of the world

yes, in fact there should be an effort to make video game versions of a lot of H&C games. With actual implementation of the rules so it actually plays like a game
    >inb4 vassal
halfway there, it's digital but you still have to keep track of the rules and do everything yourself

Since OP was too subtle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Campaign_for_North_Africa

tl;dr: It’s a board game that was designed to be absurdly autistic as a joke and is near-impossible to play.
