This has become so routine that I'm amazed that they still try to pull this shit, or that anyone still falls for it.
Every single choice is listed as a "platinum" or "gold" choice. There is no such thing as a silver choice, not even the stuff that nobody would ever expect to change anything even in a game where choices did matter.
Konami served up some real Silent Hill kino by traumatizing their playerbase with how unsurpassingly shit this entry is.
They were beaten up before with sloppy western Silent Hill action games, but THIS one is a work of art. It's so bad that it is transcendental. Basically, it made me cum.
>whores out SH to westerners after 4, all those games and movies are slop >kills pt >only make pachinko machines in Japan >covid happens >bring Silent Hill back as a mobile game, a remake, and a game about a zoomer mutt being cyberbullied
For a while, I thought Castlevania fans were the most abused by Konami, but this recent shitshow trumps the castlevania netflix show.
Contra fans have it pretty bad. Rogue Corps was bad in the completely boring way where people don't even care to comment on its existence, they just look away form it and move on. It's like a turd in the middle of the sidewalk.
The trailer for the new Wayforward game doesn't inspire confidence either.
Rogue Corps would be a bland non-offensive twin stick shooter if it weren't for the mobile phone game design. It's built around replaying the same levels over and over to get enough weapon parts and xp so you'll be strong enough to fight the bullet sponges in the next few levels. The padding is made all the more disgusting by how there's only maybe real levels in the game while the rest are the exact same levels with different enemy placements.
To be fair none of the characters so far were turned gay so it hasn't beaten Netflix Castlevania yet.

You guys have a ton of indie copycats and the Metal Slug series, it's not even comparable.
Is there a new one of these today? I have no idea what the schedule is. Not that I watch this crap, I just like reading about how it went horribly wrong afterwards.
It's one thing when a company like Disney ransacks the IPs they buy, it's another when you do it to IPs you made yourself, you can't come back from that. Just sad.
>it's another when you do it to IPs you made yourself
"Yourself" implies that a faceless corporation pulled Silent Hill out of the void wholecloth. That's not what happened. The Silent Hill games were made by groups of developers, human creators. Those developers either don't work at Konami anymore or have been relegated to a janitor's closet in the Konami HQ basement.

Toyama is. There might be some more, but he's the only big name there if so.
Day 1, they had to disable chat within the first 30 minutes because people were spamming "nagger" and "homosexual" and "Hideo Kojimo cummy in my tummy".
7-days later, chat is still in "emote only" mode LUL
My biggest fear is that people will "ironically" buy into the game to be part of the popular trainwreck and make the game semi-profitable, like what happened with Gollum.
Even threads like this one are giving the game free publicity that it doesn't deserve.
Silent Hill should remain dead. Making sequels ad infinitum after all the original developers have left had led the industry to just regurgitate slop after slop.
Why can't they just kill off Silent Hill and make a new Silent Hill-inspired IP? Similar aesthetics, monsters, new story etc.
The Silent Hill story and the trauma/purgatory shit has been told already a million times.
Kojima had the right ideas with Silent Hills. As in it would be about the town seen through the eyes of different people and its all coloured by their specific trauma/sins/inate darkness.
Imagine a situation where 2 peoples version of the town intersect into one area. SH 2 kinda did it with Eddies and Angelas world overlapping on to James' one, but it wasn't AS good as it could have been.
Thank fuck. Silent Hill doesn't deserve the meme actor walking simulator streambait FOTM treatment anymore than it deserves an undignified death.
At least we can all laugh at this current trainwreck together. If PT had come out in full, we'd still have defenders and Kojima dickriders shilling it to this day, claiming the franchise is saved.
So an interactive webseries where you pay money to influence the outcome is the best they could do in a year when Dead Space, Resident Evil, Amnesia, Alan Wake, Outlast, and Alone in the Dark all have new entries or franchise comebacks?
The outcomes aren't even influenced. Looks like at most what we get is a stat changing. Pick mostly good choices, receive good ending at the very end if it doesn't get cancelled first. But the choices are purely cosmetic in the moment.
the story of the game doesn't matter. it's like a meta horror surrounding the destruction of konami's entire library of ip and late stage capitalism or something. i'm not smart enough to understand it
No story so far, except for a dude hallucinating while he kills his wife so he can gaslight himself that somebody else did it.
Insert basedjack pointing at Silent Hill 2.
zoomers and millenials overuse it as an excuse, weapon, and personal aesthetic, it's rapidly becoming completely meaningless as a term when everyone and their dog has "past trauma" and expects special treatment over it
you guys are being ridiculous. No one is forcing you pay for IP. The game is still playable without spending money. You have the option to turn off emotes and chat.
it is a good idea. Walking Dead is one of Telltale's most popular games and people like watching streams of people playing Twitch streams. there's also streams where a Twitch streamer lets the chat decide choices.
Except nobody is playing this and it's 5 minutes of story per day with voting for choices that will happen 4 days later.
If it was a playable game (which was unlikely since they're mobile/facebook devs who only made shit) with twitch integration it would've been mildly amusing to watch streamers fight their viewers' bad choices, but the way this "game" actually works was funny when it first dropped, and just a couple days later it became unbearably boring, disjointed and nonsensical.
Rated MA15+ for Strong suicide themes, horror violence and coarse language
An exploration‑based psychological horror game in which players control characters in an apartment building called The Villa in modern‑day Germany. The player assumes the role of a young woman, Anita, who must explore The Villa through first‑person gameplay in order to collect clues and uncover what has happened to her friend. Anita is exploring a bathroom environment which features a bathtub filled with bloody water, blood‑splattered tiles and a razor blade on a bloodied sink. Upon examining a razor, Anita experiences a flashback. In a cut‑scene depicted through a first‑person point of view, a voice yells, “This is all your fault! Bad things happen because of YOU!” and a hand holding the razor enters the frame. The character’s left arm enters the frame with horizontal scars evident across the character’s wrist. The scene cuts to a black screen before the razor makes contact with the character’s wrist. The following shot features an image of the character’s left arm with old and fresh scars. In a cut‑scene depicted through a mixture of third‑person and first‑person shots, the player character stands on the edge of the building’s rooftop, looking down. It is implied that Maya committed suicide by jumping off the ledge of the rooftop. The player character, in a distressed state of mind, speculates that she will never compare to Maya. Echoes of her mother’s abusive tirades are heard in the background as Anita prepares to jump and says, “Maybe I can be like her… Here goes…” In a first‑person shot, her feet are seen near the edge of the ledge before, in a third‑person shot, she steps off and begins to fall.
Throughout the game, cut‑scenes depicting self‑harm and suicide are followed by black screens which feature white text encouraging players to seek treatment and help if they are at risk of self‑harm and suicide and to offer support if they see people around them struggling. In the Board’s opinion, depictions of suicide and self‑harm within the game occur in the broader context of discourse exploring issues revolving around mental health which encourages players to seek help or offer support to those in need. As such, the impact of the depictions does not exceed strong in impact and can be accommodated within the MA15+ classification.

Isn't The Short Message made by Konami themselves? I assume it's made by a bunch of the people who worked on PT.
That's actually an insanely interesting topic I got zero answers to because PT is sort of shrowded in mystery. As, who is responsible, who payed for the demo (tech demo?), where did the assets go and who was K's tard wrangler this time actually directing development.
Have any of you actually tried watching Ascension? I decided to watch to see if it was as bad as everyone was making it out to be.

It's particually shameless since the 'choices' are decided by viewer vote AND is pay to win, despite being railroaded to hell.
Every single choice is listed as a "platinum" or "gold" choice. There is no such thing as a silver choice, not even the stuff that nobody would ever expect to change anything even in a game where choices did matter.
I mean its not a secret the devs are made of former Telltale staff so it's not surprising either. People just don't want to do research though.
>QTE
How the fuck did they manage to do that with a stream?
The QTEs don't change what happens on screen. They give points at the end, and don't even seem to be canon sequences.

no way it's going to last that long
Nope, because they didn't say half a year, they said 8 months. Thats what's actually going to last

IT PHYSICALLY HURTS
you could say it's a trauma!
No, Carlos. I don't think I could say that.

And the funny part is basically no one still cares even for the sake of witnessing a trainwreck, just look at how quickly threads died out.
I don't even know where to watch this shit. I'll just wait for a youtuber to make a funny video about the train wreck in 2-3 years

Konami is owned by the yakuzas and if they don't make enough money things can go from having one finger cut to being encased in concrete.

PYRAMID HEAD ORIGIN STORY
It always was the natural progression for Pyramid Head to have its original appearance expanded since its the only one that makes sense
it was already explained in the second movie, pyramid face was alessa's pet pokemon made by the town so she wont die when a cenobite tries to kill her
IT BROKE NEW GROUND!!!!
qrd on the last few days?
Have they released any download or viewership numbers for this shit? I'm curious how badly it's doing.

Because it's hack fucking writing
tldr
what happened today?
No one seems to know, probably because no one watches anymore.
I didn't watch but from what I hear they couldn't even run the stream properly today.
No new drama, since Jacob got off Twitter.
that was a smart decision
people were beginning to watch for all the wrong reasons

I hope so. The chat was the only reason I bothered watching.

To bad that the Influence Point system is bugged as hell as well.
Alan Wake 2 > All of Silent Hill except maybe 2.
There's no reason to get hung up on silent hill any longer. Better has come, and better will come. But not fron Konami, and not from Silent Hill.
Cool, I'll wait until Epic is desperate enough to sell it elsewhere.
don't reply to me if you have nothing real or relevant to say.
SHfags deserve to suffer.
its thematically related to the games, so youre right. this is highly meta by making them suffer irl
Welcome to Silent Hill Ascension, the show where everything is made up and the points don't matter.
Finally, something like real life!
I haven't bothered watching the last few days. Is chat still gone and have we gotten any more Jacobkino?
YOU EARN 3000 IP A DAY BY JUST LOGGING IN!
That is a good amount of IP. Choices are 200IP. You have plenty to spend throughout an episode.
I play each chapter fine without paying. The choice that gets voted on is usually the most logical choice anyway.
Who thought this was a good idea?
it is a good idea. Walking Dead is one of Telltale's most popular games and people like watching streams of people playing Twitch streams. there's also streams where a Twitch streamer lets the chat decide choices.
