What keeps me hopeful is that it supposedly based on a concept for SH3 that the team was proud of. They had about a year of development on the project before Konami bigwigs forced them to redo the game from scratch to be about Heather. When the PS3 project started, they revived this concept.
It's sad that we'll never see what it's about, but even then - I'd prefer another middle of the road entry like 4 over whatever slop Konami is shitting out now.

lmao. after MG Survive, PES, bad MGS ports, and 3 concurrent Silent Hill failures (short message, Ascension, and SH2 remake) Konami has shown that they mismanage resources worse than Kojima ever did
For all of Kojima's alleged faults, he's one of the only Japanese directors that managed to put out games that could still pump out mega hits in that PS2/3 era. Konami has no idea how lucky they were to have his team, and the Silent Hill team. Maybe profit margins were tight because of the development - but the MGS and SH teams were basically the highest quality Japanese teams of their time.
