The game is in my top 10 but the intro is ass and only bearable on a first playthrough if that. As soon as its done I just frick off into the openworld, never to get TB

Having just replayed the game for the first time since release, the rest of the game is almost as bad as the intro. I forgot how god damn annoying every other mission in this piece of shit game is. But hey, it was a nice workout for my new PC which was the whole reason I played it again.

I'd rather just buy games now and have updates and avoid having to use double the storage for installing

You know that steam does the same thing? It just gets rid of the installer

          >having to use double the storage for installing

What? You do realize you can delete the downloaded files after the game is installed, right?

            Exactly, good

No I mean that they do LITERALLY the same thing as if you were to do it manually. For a short while you have both the installer and the game before steam deletes it. It's literally the exact same as if you were pirating it. They just do it a little faster

steam installations turn the download into the installed files, it never exceeds 110% of the initial download size

why would you restart a rockstar game? the missions feel like chores and are just hurdles you clear to get to the content that is actually fun.

You just answered your own question there anon.

no, I said "restart". if you've gone through all the tedious shit and are left with the open world and toys you've won, then why clean the slate and do the chores again?

The world doesn't really feel as alive when you've done all the random encounters. I mean what is there to do in RDR2's open world when you've run out of interesting finds and "random" encounters? Not a whole lot from my experience. Lassoing people and robbing camps/trains gets boring even during the main story, there's nothing really that engaging left unless you're a cowboy roleplay autismo

            >what is there to do in [Rockstar]'s open world when you've run out of interesting finds and "random" encounters?
wreak havoc, which gets old quick. which is why the games suck and I don't play them anymore.

Franky I can't think of any open world games that kept me engaged after I'd actually seen the entire map. Rockstar at least makes the first time through their games engaging enough because discovering all the details for the first time really can be pretty great. In every 3D GTA game since VC I always go through the early game just waiting for the first opportunity to get an aircraft and just fly over the map for the next hour. I hate Rockstar's mission design but damn if I ain't a sucker for their little digital dioramas.

    >buy RDR2 on sale
    >get to Rhodes part of the story
    >game crashing constantly near Rhodes
    >try a dozen different fixes suggested by people online
    >none work
    >pirate game
    >works like a charm

    Thanks, Rockstar

theres zero flexibility in how you approach missions
literally the opposite of immersive sim

There's so little freedom in the missions that there are dedicated videos on the few missions that DO give you some sort of choice and don't spell it out with a button prompt. Fanboys go crazy in the comments about how insanely detailed the game is with its "choices". It's insane.

It's also insane how many people think RDR2 has the greatest story and protagonist of all time. What did this game do to brainwash so many people? Or is it just that this is the type of game someone who doesn't play games will play and be wowed?

you could give an unplugged controller to most people and sit them in front of Blade Runner 2049 and 90% would think they'd just played the best game in their life

My favourite thing about Ganker is when anons make a big scary bogeyman up then cry that it's upsetting them. Brainwashing? Stop being a moron.
