SNES region lock

This lets me play all the different region launches on a SNES right? Is there a converter brand/model that is recommended?

The only lockout is the physical shape of the cart. Anything that lets you insert the game will work. Just be sure it has the extra pins so it's compatible with Super FX games and such.

This, if you have a Snes Game Genie, you can just bypass it.
Same with a Gameshark for N64

      Don't break your systems

Sorry, actually game genie does have the plastic notches.
        Gameshark does work, however.

You're not breaking shit cutting those plastic tabs off, they come off clean and you can sand down the area where they were have it smooth and no one would know

These also allow you to play all the different region launches on an SNES.

This. I believe there are only a couple bits of plastic that prevent JP carts from being fully inserted into NA consoles.

Is it the same for EU consoles?

No, eu/jap carts are shaped different, thus the cart insert is shaped different and incompatible with ntsc carts, not too mention the pal discrepancy. So, really no it only works from ntsc j to u iirc

Never tried directly playing a SFC cart on my PAL SNES, always used a converter. I guess it should work? Maybe? No?

So I will buy a converter just in case because the SNES I received recently is EU one

that converter is not going to help with the pal/ntsc fuckery the consoles run at different clock speeds so a lot of pal games run like 20% faster or something. you should get a supersic https://www.consolesunleashed.com/product/super-nintendo-switchless-region-supercic-uigr-d4-patch-mod-kit/

Ntsc j to u, as in a us SNES will accept a sufami cart. You can play snes carts on a sufami if you alter the insert, take off the shell top or put your SNES PCB into a sufami PCB cart.

Is this for JP games on PAL SNES? Because my Super Famicom can play my PAL games just fine.

I think that is an universal converter that can do all games on every region snes

Why do you lie to people on the internet? Unless you have a converter or mod for pal, the game runs too fast or not at all. You're such a dick faced nagger douglas.

I do have it modded for 50/60hz but that's it.
I can only remember my PAL DKC not letting me play at 60hz, only 50hz.

Yeah it's called a lie of omission. An omission (a modded console) that makes the difference in the whole equation. Disingenuous fucklet.

Stop being a nagger, I already bought the console modded (I just fixed a bad solder job). Is the Super Famicom case any different from a PAL SNES?

take off the top cover of your eu snes and you can play ntsc/jap carts, albeit at the wrong speed

Some of them have lock out chips and the speed will most likely be unplayable.

If you really want an adapter get the upgrade version, a Fire FX or Pro Action Replay MK3, but even then you'll have some games that won't pass.
A flashcart is a better investment.

Almost as cheap to just buy an EverDrive clone
