So, are Konami gonna make a new Castlevania anytime soon?

They've released dozens of them, who cares?
Yeah I'm fine with replaying the older entries.
Probably after Silent Hill and Metal Gear
Rumors are yes.
There is no source, hence why I said RUMOR
Yea I heard it and the rumor is that you are a fag
the rumor come out: Does anon is gay?
No. anon does gay.
People often claim they want the 1999 game starring Julius, but really they don't. It would never live up to their imagination, it's simply better kept as a background thing.
With the right story and developers, I think it could live up to the hype. But I also feel like it'd benefit from getting multiple games connecting to it, instead of being just one Belmont vs Dracula game where the main difference is that this put Drac down for real.
i would only trust specter-era yacht club with a 1999 game
yup
This.
Unlikely.
You're right. It is all bad.
Rumors of a MGS3 remake and new Castlevania being announced this year. The new Castlevania will probably be a metroidvania that either takes place in the original canon or be the start of a new reboot.
As long as it's not 3d I'm game.
It will definitely be 2.5D. Getsu Fuma Den Undying Moon looked pretty good, it will be interesting to see what art style they go with or if they will just keep things as close to Ayami Kojima as possible. Probably the later. Hoping we play as a Belmont and not Alucard.
It's apparently rumored to be 3D, and a mix of Lord of Shadows and Bloodborne.
Sauce or youre full of shit
Honestly though, i rather have nothing than this franchise be bastardized further
They got a third party studio to make a new Getsu Fuuma Den, and it bombed so I doubt they're interested.
The rumor is that the Dead Cells castlevania dlc is the start of a marketing campaign for a new game which may be show off around E3 time.
Is this the Jankvania/Harmony of despair Rpcs3 thread?
yes it is
Pass over the rpcs3 build and I'll play.
The same 10 people keep playing the game through RPCS3 now. It's kinda boring.
Is the online laggy? I gave up on it because I heard the online was nuked during a Rpcs3 update.
I played it 6 months ago. Online was fine, it wasn't as janky like the unity build. I don't know about anything about the update.
>if they make another Castlevania it will probably be based on the inexplicably successful Netflix series rather than continuing the older games
I hope Konami never touches this series again.
>inexplicably successful
We live in a post-Game of Thrones where “epic” fantasy is in vogue and Critical Role is fucking everywhere. The general “nerd” public slurps up horny vampire court politics, talking heads going on about WARRRR (planning), and the quirky band of designated protagonists emoting wildly for the audience, their party interactions drizzled with bi/pan/poly/etcsexual bait to really get the shippers and cosplayers going.
It’s a formula designed by committee to stimulate the market’s audience at large. You might as well ask why it took a full fucking decade for Funko Pops to finally overshoot demand and show signs of burnout.

I don't know why but reading this made me very angry
Oh cry me a river.
The show is not half bad.
>The show is not half bad
You say that, but how would you feel if an adaptation of your favorite video game was written by someone who used it as an avenue for their fetish fiction, instead of adapting the source material?
I'd think, despite ruining any chances of said adaptation being good, that in the end they were the chad
you look him in the eyes and tell him that were you in his position, you wouldn't be ready to meet the same divine punishment that he is destined for
What's that? You want a new pachinko?
No, idiot. They haven't made a game since 2015. Were you in a coma?
Anon, somethings are better off staying dead instead of getting revived and desecrate it even further
T.Belmont
T.Dracula
Do you really want another lords of shadow like game?
No, but since metroidvania games have surged in popularity I figured Konami would resurrect the series. Especially since Metroid Dread released.
That trilogy is done, why would they go back to that timeline when the original series gaining more spotlight in recent years?
They can leave it to rot, but before they do they can release Harmony of Despair for PC. God I want to play this shit with my buddies again
Buy Bloodstained and Dead Cells already. The latter even has Castlevania DLC, that should tell you how done Konami is with doing anything internally with the IP.
>Bloodstained
bought it and its shit
>Dead Cells
decent game but not really comparable to Castlevania besides the gameplay somewhat
Bloodstained is a disappointment.
Blasphemous is infinitely better.
>Bloodstained is a disappointment.
Meh. It was all right.
It was mediocre.
Ritual of the Night is the weakest at least, of the 3 games so far. Both Curse of the Moon 1 & 2 are the good stuff and doesn't deserve to get lumped in with it.
I liked it. Food was definitely overpowered. I don't get limiting potions to 9. Still you only used the food for the permanent bonuses.
With the time travelers thing. the obvious move is an alternate timeline. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Hector joined the Belmont party in CV3.
I played both in the same time frame and can confirm. Not like blasphemous is perfect, but the style and music are good enough to justify enduring whatever is wrong with it
>the style and music are good enough to justify enduring whatever is wrong with it
I heard too many retards complaining about the lack of the official soundtrack in the Netflix cartoon like that was the fucking problem with the show.
What you can even do with it? The story was over with Aria, we already got the story about how it all started with Lament and then we got a bunch of titles like Ecclesia to explain what happened during the time after Richter disappeared. I guess you could make a story about Julius but who could he fight? Another cult we never heard about? Meh.
I didn't know people cared about the story. My idea for a new game would be that Dracula has returned and someone related to a character from a previous title has to stop them.
IGA did mention that they made the mistake of writing themselves into a wall and ran out of space in the timeline to place stories.
Still, there's that one cancelled Alucard game for the PS360. Who knows what that one would've been like
The games stretch across a thousand years, you could probably come up with some stories to take place in there. Like a game about Mathias after the events of Lament. Or a version of the Dracula novel like SOTN was originally going to be, starring Quincy Morris.
ya it's called Moonlight Rhapsody, it's got chinese devs and it's for phones 🙂
See
>phone game about a Dracula appearance in the late 19th century introduces a pair of Belmont siblings
>in an era of no Belmonts
Like, I get that characters are being pulled out of different eras but this confused me. At least Desmond has a rival for the tile of of "most obscure Belmont" now.
I thought this got canceled in favor of reviving Grimoire of Souls
>Konami
>Making games
lmao smar indie campany prease understand and buy new outsourced title to literal whos
OH NONOONONONONOONONO
Give me a new nakey back Shanoa game
Low budget reboots with tasteful coomer assets is how you ease back into Castlevania
They just """released""" castlevania dlc for dead cells, which is either
A) Testing the waters to Gauge the fans interest in the series at this point, gearing up for a new game (stupidly optimistic)
B) Konami throwing the fan base a bone for them to suck on for the next decade while they continue to ignore the series (realistic)
I've never played dead cells but looking at the trailer for the dlc kinda made me really sad that a konami could have been making a full fledged castlevania game (but they did try with getsufumaden and it failed which makes it more difficult for them to go any further). I want to try this dlc out but this game dead cells being a roguelite or roguelike whatever doesn't seem to be very enticing to me. The entire genre seems like randomizer mode. It's just my opinion though.
Why doesn't death just kill our heroes?
He doesn't succeed, not for the lack of trying though.
Doesn't that mean he's really bad at his job
Just that the heros are better at beating him.
why would you want a new game when they already reached perfection?
>you can fuse demons with weapons and with each-other.
>this isn't somehow an SMT spin-off
CoD is honestly peak gameplay. If Konami announced COD2 and it was at least 90% similar to this game I'd actually pre-order it.
A Curse of Darkness sequel that built on what was cool about the original and cleaned up the clunkier parts would be really fun. What would you want it to be about?
That's a hard thing to answer now that I think about it. Obviously a refinement to the fighting, weapons and demons would be cool but if we're talking about plot, I'm a bit lost on how you'd go about bringing Hector back into the series.
If I was doing the writing I'd have it not be set in Castlevania but have the plot be about Hector succeeding in stopping Dracula's revival.
If they bring back the chairs, I'd be cool with that too.
thats not SotN
It's a bug maybe only if ALL the new silent hill projects are going to suceed which I highly doubt.
No, is ded and after what they did with lords of shadow is for the best.
Save us IGA
