So let me get this straight:

>Present looks all nice
>Ending the two Present acts gets you in a post apocalyptic Cyberpunk polluted Future
>BUT if you decide to do something about it, you go to the Past and try to destroy the key element that will inevitably doom the Future
>You do it, and return to the Present
>Nothing changes
>Only the Future changes and becomes beautiful

Does SEGA even timetravel? If you travel from the current Present to go back to the Past and change anything, BOTH Present and Future are affected and WILL change since the Current Present was the Present that led to the Bad Future and not the Altered Present (Good Present) that was modified by timetravelling to the Past. Are they moronic?

Don't even bother arguing with these spergs, they love shitting up boards with the most inane and pedantic bullshit.
Sonic fans are a fricking blight.

It's not just Sonic fans, plenty of video game fans in general do exactly what you just described
Sanic fans are a special breed though

maybe the people decided only do something between the present and the future, idk
do they specify how many years there are between each time period?

You can guess where the age by the background:
      >PP, CC, TT & QQ (Past)
      Everything looks prehistoric
      >SS (Past)
      Looks like ancient Greco-Roman city
      >WW & MM (Past)
Already quite close to the present, just industrial sites under construction

So I'd say easily ranging from 50-10000 years in the past realistically, but since Eggman does not live up to 10000 years and it's a video game (unless it's Eggman Nega or his son or grandson or some shit in the future), I'd say each stage is going 30 years back in time and then 30 years forward to the future, which gives a huge margin for change in 60 years, especially with a big brain individual like Eggman.

    >modern day
    >go back in time and build thing that is generating power
    >go back to present, not charged yet
    >go to future- thing charged and ready

sonic cd is one of those games i absolutely hated when i first played it, but it's grown on me in subsequent playthroughs to where i now think it's a pretty good game. i really enjoy both soundtracks as well.

    >>You do it, and return to the Present
    changes
aesthetics-wise nothing changes, but all the enemies are gone.

yeah, if you destroy the robot generator thing in the past, then go back to the present in that stage, all the enemies disappear and turn into flowers. Also, if you destroy the metal sonic holograms in the past, then in that same stage you'll see animals frolicking.

OP didn't even play the game, neither did anyone else replying to him who are even more stupid than OP for taking his words for granted. If I say "you're all homosexuals" are you going to start sucking dick too?

Holy shit, you have no imagination. What if the thing from the past is dormant until the future? Destroying it in the past would have no effect on the present, only the future.

Destroying the robot generator in the past removes the robots from the present. moron.

collision chaos good future JP is so fricking good I'd mistake it for Gran Turismo music. also love the JP special stage music. i thought they were hard as frick until i realized landing in water reduced a lot of time form the time limit. but i always loved the idea of sonic running on water even shown in the intro

Sonic still has to stop Eggman in the present, otherwise what's stopping him from simply rebuilding that element?

I enjoy both the JP and US soundtracks, I still just wonder why they bothered making the US soundtrack in the first place. Never gotten a straight answer to that.

I used to hate this game but I really like it now. I used to think the level design was really bad but it's all actually pretty fun once you start doing all the time travel stuff and figuring the game out. I don't like how hidden some of the robot generators were, especially toward the end of the game. Overall peak aesthetics and music for Sonic though.
