The people responsible for bringing economic and structural fortune to the place are often the same people who actually ruin it. >is it really that bad?
It isn't bad. It's just one of the states that is slowly decaying due to those multinational liberal policies that the boomers and liberals vote for. It used to be a great hub for transport, manufacturing, and industrial pursuits but all of that is getting moved overseas more and more every year. That's why most people in this thread are saying it's filled with urban decay, because the cities that used to be booming aren't so booming anymore and there have been a number of exoduses over the last few decades. Rural Ohio is nice because it was never subject as much to the aforementioned decay, but most of the people there are 60 hour work week laborers and tradesmen that are drinking themselves to death in a trailer. That's why there's a really, really big meth problem in the state because after if your working 2 jobs then caffeine just doesn't give you the energy you need.

So i'm guessing the quests are good.
Are there any factions in the game?

I know thread is evolving into politics but Bethesda has been namedropping Ohio in 76 for three years now with the last single player expansion going into proper detail about what has been going on in the state, 76's map also ends literally just outside Ohio - knowing Bethesda loves dropping hints for future content, Ohio is more than a hint, its like foreshadowing

if they don't release Ohio expansion for 76 I am sure they were planning to and had it shelved at some point, we still dont know 2023 roadmap and I was hoping for a summer expansion, but SF is on the horizon so who knows

I really like it, if you didnt play during of after Wastelanders (2020 summer) you will get a wonderful 120 hours out of it, rest is up to you whether you can deal with jank & repetitiveness or not

there are factions but you dont opt out of anything and your choices dont matter THAT much, one crucial tip I can give is
            >during Wastelanders questline, when about to take sides, make sure you do all quests for all sides up until the point of no return and always, always be a decent dude that allows people to SURVIVE & do what they want to do

There IS a ton of lore surrounding Ohio, but all that shit happened during a time where shit actually happened in Ohio (ie: during the colonial era).
