This is untrue back then for that time they sold pretty good. Eventually the series dropped off of course and as time went on the stealth genre itself dropped completely off so if you look at it with the lens of modern day expectations then yeah its not as impressive but most things back then won't be.
Yeah Immortals was okay, I enjoyed it for the little breath of the wild clone it was and the dumb banter between Zeus and Prometheus was funny. It's overlooked because this game came out like a week before Cyberpunk 2077 and AC Valhalla and literally nobody talked about it ever as a result, everyone flocked to one of the other overhyped piles of shit complaining how broken they were, when Immortals was actually surprisingly well done and polished for a modern Ubishit game.
still is there anything else besides this one game that was kind of a lucky hit for this company? Has anyone really enjoyed any of their games in the past couple years?

Bro became stealth rambo
Did devs forget what splinter cell was about? I swear all this shit happened because of Batman games and The Dark Knight movies.
I remember every game trying to emulate Nolans Dark Knight.
Thi4f did this
Hitman Absolution did this
Deus Ex Human Revolution did this
Ass Creed did this since the first game (Ubishit go figure)
Watch Dogs dince first game did this (more Ubitrash)
I think its always going to be doomed due to how fluid and fast modern character movements in gaming has become. A large part of the appeal in regards to the stealth in old SC was how Fisher moved. I am not sure how to explain it as perfectly as possible but Sam Fisher being too quick and detailed in his movements will probably lead to the developers to want him to be more action-like even if they promise to try to keep stealth intact if that makes sense. Fisher wasn't a complete robot in the old games but once he is spotted he isn't exactly going to be able to move like Jason Bourne or some other action hero. Not even fluid like in the MGS games. So it discouraged being seen that much more in old SC. He had a lot of cool moves and could even do things only someone in shape could do but it took timing often to set this up if that makes sense. So everything about the old SC games designed heavily encouraged stealth over playing recklessly or like you are some action star. Something it did even better than the MGS series in regards to stealth actually.
My biggest fear is that they're going to make it fast-paced like Conviction and Blacklist. In the original, everything was slow and meticulous and every encounter feels like a puzzle you have to solve. The newer games just have you zipping everywhere gunning dudes down without much thought
i hope so
To the contrary
Frick
Really? They cancelled like 5 different projects and they are in trouble atm as a company.
Yeah so cancel the fresh IPs and just crank out more re-somethings
Corporations piss their pants at the thought of making something original these days
Do people even care about Splinter Cell? I always felt like it was pretty niche and far from mainstream.
I have no idea if anyone cares nowadays, but the first four games at least were very popular and without a doubt "AAA games".

i cannot wait for the remake. gays put raytrace lights into shit like quake and minecraft, finally get to see it used for real in a steal game.
Monkey's Paw. It's Ubisoft.
they have made some good games before. it's not all bad, check out Immortals Fenyx Rising

a damn shame too!!
>Ubislop
Should I play the first on Xbox? I only played chaos theory
the first one is the best one, the PS2 has extra levels, i think the PC has them too. but Xbox is a good place to play it as well.
Thanks
nah, you've played the best series has to offer, play blacklist, it's actually decent (NOT conviction) as people tend to get them confused
frick a remake
just patch up the old games to work on modern machines.
If you knock yourself out and try to carry yourself it does this.

i would play that
It's sad to think that a modern splinter cell would be even worse than ten years ago

Hope I explained that well.

This game would have been perfect for mods. Imagine the levels fans would come up with using the games systems like with Thief
>It was so bad that the original lead dev quit the project
Bros....
>they took hobo sam away from us
I will never forget ubishit for this
