avp2 is probably one of my favorite games, the single player was good and the multiplayer was better

I never played this game since they did the patch, but when those aliens showed up they were legit the only thing that actually worked in the game and they swarmed me and came directly up to my face and kind of trapped me there and I was really high and I couldnt even move because they were stuck cause of the stupid broken ai and it was kinda scary in that I was literally trapped as I was so high being unable to do anything while my brain was looping itself,which made me super uncomfortable.

Did you watch Prey? Was it any good? I didn't watch it because in my mind I couldn't think of a way they could do the predator justice in it but if it is any good I'll watch it.

Its like a 3.5 star movie like watching Jurassic park or phantom menace, where youd watch it once or twice because you forgot what happened exactly. "The Predator" movie is fucking horrendous youtube poop tier meme catchphrase thomas churchill ammityville shit and predators is like a decent sci-fi channel flick. From what I remember, a lot of the movies got "customized" by their "directors" and they abandoned a lot of the scripts. I think predators is semi-cannon and dutch (arnold) is supposed to meet up with them after that movie takes place or they get back to earth and meet dutch but they dont get that far in the story in the movie, so it would need a part 2. I cant remember. Or they scrapped that part of the script and its just either its own thing or some weird non-cannon now canon movie like covenant and prometheus. Prey is a little bit marvel disbelief where the indian girl is a little unrealistic. Shadiversity made a video where he tried to do indian girl's weapon thing for hours hurting himself and thats kind of interesting to watch but yeah. Prey does sync up a bit with the comics and predator 2, so its partially cannon at least.

Why is it seemingly so hard to make a good predator movie or game?
oh sorry i got the shower running and i forgot but also concrete jungle is a little difficult control wise than you want it to move, but once you get the hang of it, its fine. The story is pretty nice and you get to hunt people, predators, aliens in this city. Its kind of like the same level of clunky controls youd get with like san andreas with that learning curve of annoyance until you dont even notice it once you get the hang of it. You get to customize your predator and I think theres multiple ways to do things where you can do it silent, melee, or blast the shit out of everyone. But its good. Just like extinction is different in that its an rts and a bit weird to control, but fine once you get the hang of it and you get that avp experience of bringing each faction out and murdering all the rest. Both are decent storywise.
I'm pretty immune to jankiness in old games so I'll give Concrete Jungle a shot. Extinction is a game I used to play a shit ton of. Would down cans of Amp energy drink back when it was made by Mountain Dew or whatever and came in the skinny predominantly black cans with green accentuation since it reminded me of the color scheme of the case. The formula changed when some other company started making it I think because I distinctly remember the taste of old AMP and Aliens Vs Predator: Extinction being married in my mind.
Prey is the best Predator movie we've had in ages,
My only real gripe was how convoluted the plan to kill the predator was and how it relied on the mask and pinpoint precision to land him in the perfect spot for it all to happen.
i like how her brother needed her to wound the Cat to kill it and she needed her brother to wound the predator for her to best it.
The setting was good too, with french trappers there and all, it was a good attempt at trying something different.
Unlike THE Predator which seems like they'd only watched aliens vs predator movies and were making a direct sequel to them.

Sucks that the only modern Predator game is Hunting Grounds and while it seems like it fits the idea of predator, I don't care about one vs many multiplayer or even multiplayer at all. I'd like a good singleplayer predator game.

I've only played the alien campaign of 2 and it blew the alien campaign from the original out of the water. How do the marine and predator campaigns in 2 stack up to their counterparts in the original?
Marine campaign is (arguably) the best one. I'm not fond of Pred campaigns much at all, but if you enjoy seeing a skull counter go up with the headshots you make, you might disagree.
I still prefer the pred campaign to the alien one since the power fantasy felt a little more complete. I felt I was able to utilize the strengths of the predator a lot more easily than with the alien. I've always preferred the action horror aspect of the marine campaign to the others so I'll save the marine campaign for last in 2.
It definitely can be as a marine (I'm assuming going by my experience with the first game and what others say about it). It's what makes the Aliens: Colonial Marines such a travesty.

AVP2 was the last good game either franchise will ever get. Back when games were exclusively for discriminating tastes and in-depth gameplay. Now it's for as many casuals as they can scoop up with a game's brand recognition.

I heard this too and I never understood it. I wish game devs weren't afraid to call people pussies and just stick to what they made. Personally I fucking loved zooming around at the speed of sound with a fisheye lens on my face as the Alien in AvP classic, it's a CHALLENGE to control and games are all about challenge. Or they used to be at least.
Growing up on Classic I thought the AvP2 alien was even a bit clunky.

Was Primal Hunt actually bad? I didn't hate it when I was playing through it, I don't think.
Not offensively bad, but incredibly monotonous with infinite swarms of xenomorphs again and again.
To be fair I recall the OG Predator's campaign towards the end was kind of like that, but I remember the level design being interesting at least. In particular I remember a large underground cave with a very long pipeline stretching across a chasm. When you're about halfway across the pipeline, swarms appear at either end and start rushing towards you along the pipes. You can pick off a few with your speargun before they get in melee range.
Primal Hunt's Predator campaign on the other hand was basically copy-pasted caves fighting the same swarms over and over.
I remember the main Marine campaign, I don't remember Tanya's corporate campaign beyond something in the shower and her boyfriend being dead.
I also remember one of the predator campaigns being an absolute bore. 360 degree motion detector is sort of nice in multiplayer, but in campaign it took away from the atmosphere imo.
The difficulty was all over the place, easy was hard enough, medium super hard, and hard nearly impossible. Guess this is what happens when players complain about challenge, they get their wish and then shit on your game for it.
remember back in the day it was pretty negative. even the multiplayer maps were awful. the free dlc map pack for the core game was alot better

Did you know that you can evade the predator disc if you duck before it comes (so it comes low) and the moment is reaches you duckjump to the side. At least that is how i remember it.

Fox basically nuked the whole IP by making AWFUL movies and the lacklustre 2010 game, then Ridley Scott killed whatever interest was left in the Aliens franchise with Prometheus and Covenant, meanwhile Predator got ruined by the movie with the autistic kid (I've not seen Prey though, but I hear it's OK)
there's probably not much profit left in the franchise because of how bad they ran it into the ground; I still think there are some core dedicated fans who would buy it, but nowhere near enough to make it a viable business venture for modern retard publishers to approve
