so when do we get tf3?

I'd rather they we just get a Source 2 port, I don't think current Valve could make a good sequel
Remember it took old Valve nine years just to make this one

      >source 2 port
Literally what would that do? Slightly improve the game physics in exchange for a huge investment in working hours from valve?

Performance improvements, less of that annoying stuttering and would probably fix a lot of visual bugs like lingering particle effects.

          >Performance improvements
If your computer can't run TF2, that's your problem
          >less of that annoying stuttering
          Works on my machine
          >a lot of visual bugs like lingering particle effects
This could probably be patched in 1% of the time a port would take

            >If your computer can't run TF2, that's your problem

This isn't acceptable performance for a game from 2007.
            >Works on my machine
It doesn't, you just can't notice. Use MSI Afterburner and look at the 1% lows.

I have a 5800X and 6700 XT. It runs the game better than your computer, guaranteed, but it shouldn't ever be dropping below my monitor's refresh rate or stuttering like a bitch when there's too much action going on.

If your computer can't run it you're probably bottlenecking it

No computer can max out a 144 Hz monitor at all times in TF2. The game is just broken spaghetti code. Again, good for you if you don't notice the shit frame pacing, but some of us have standards.

I haven't played live tf2 in 2 years but my 1080 would run it at 144fps most of the time outside of shitty community maps that could drop as low as the 60s.

It might run at 144+ FPS on average but if you look at a frametime graph it will be jumping all over the place. The average is high but it still feels stuttery. Also, GPU doesn't matter at all, TF2 is always heavily bottlenecked by your CPU on modern systems.

My computer runs it fine, stupid gay. You asked what a port would do, I answered. Next time don't be stupid.

Never. Valve makes way too much money from TF2, and if it stopped they would just put more resources into their other cash cows and not make a sequel. Plus Valve couldn't count to three if it's life depended on it.

      >Valve makes way too much money from TF2
TF2 gives Valve like 0.01% of the money Steam does

gameroids would be unsatisfied with the tf3 cast no matter what it is.
    >just tf2 mercs again
    muh boring stale no creativity
    >tf classic mercs
    muh pandering
    >entirely new mercs

I genuinely just think they couldn't top 2's cast if they tried.

No, TF3 would suck because it would have an emphasis on matchmaking, item shop, and barebones community content support (if any, also probably heavily moderated/restricted if so), and more sterile or quippy dialogue, less banter since it's not 2007 anymore
Just port it to Source 2 and let the community handle it, fucking curate the workshop every month and instead of ruining it with every update like they've been doing for the past few years

      >Ganker proceeds to nitpick every individual detail for the slightest bit of wokeness and loses their mind when they inevitably find it
      This.
As some Anons have said before, if TF2 came out today Ganker would call Demoman pandering as well as Pyro because of the handbag. It would be considered a SJW propaganda because American soldier is stupid while communist minigun man is strong and calm. And jarate would be called as some fetish shit instantly.
Then Ganker would go to dig anything about any of the devs or actors to find one rainbow flag or something like "Yeah nazis are stupid lol" kind of message somewhere and call the whole game as commie propaganda made by garden gnomes to undermine American western culture etc. etc.

Sadness. You really can't really have any kind of diversity to make people in Ganker happy, so no wonder that devs just swing hard to diversity money bag. Why bother making one gay character to keep the cast even remotely balanced? Just make majority of the cast fags, Ganker would cry even if you had just one character that might LOOK too gay.

ok cool but can we talk about the topic instead of turning into yet another 4chan thread where trannies and incels seethe at other for 500 posts

Where do you think you are? There are legit porn threads up.
And you are asking Valve to count up to three(3).
Might as well ask when Nintendo to make Melee HD port or Sony to make a new Jumping Flash!.

literally never. there's zero reason to make a new entry in the series. so long as
    >the comic remains unfinished
    >yearly cosmetic crates/scream fortress crates keep making them money
    >there's a healthy amount of players on servers
there is no justifiable reason for a sequel
