i wouldn't say every aspect, the zero G controls rotate the player every time they turn and when you use the level out feature it stops you completely and does this awkward turn thing, that could have really been imporved
also the mining deck ore processing room is a clear down grade
in the original you would throw the ore into the energy shaft thing to be broken down and it actually grabbed the ore and sucked it in
in the remake the ore just explodes as soon as it hits the beam and makes zero sense

EA screwed over the Dead Space fanbase by cancelling the Dead Space 4 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

I heard about the chud bathrooms beforehand, and I had to be a few hours in before I realized I'd gone in and out of those bathrooms without noticing them (or even that they were bathrooms). I was too concerned with monster closets and resource scrounging. As far as Adam Sandler, they just made him look like his voice actor. Haven't noticed any girlboss, and this criticism comes from people who liked HL2E2, which had a girlboss SPEECH in the middle of combat.

It looked good visually so there is really no point in paying 60$ for reworked visuals. It's a game from 2008, not a game from 2001. It was never an ugly game.

dont believe me? I stopped playing after the first hour, I might as well have been playing the original and I wouldn't know, not enough of an upgrade for me to care, look at RE4 for example, many upgrades make it feel like a fresh experience

We don't. At first we did because we thought Calisto Protocol was gonna be the true successor to the franchise. That turned out to be a humongous bust so we begrudgingly gave new Dead Space a chance and it turned out to be one of the best remakes of all time.

i beat the original last week and beat it yesterday on hard and am now playing the remake
it's fucking awesome, the combat feels much better
i thought isaac talking would ruin the atmosphere for me but it didn't
also i am aware people have performance issues with this game and i dont want to be the "works on my machine guy" but when i frame limited it to 60 fps it ran fine
The new details where you can see the enemies tissue and bone chip away are fucking wicked. Burning away their flesh and exposing their skeletons is also cool as fuck

it's pretty hard to match the original actors to be fair

Animations suck dick
I've been a fan of Dead Space since I played the old demo back in early 2008 on Xbox360 I I know what I'm talking about when I talk about this game and this is how I feel
The Good
>Combat is perfected. everything feels as smooth as Dead Space 2 and cutting a necromorph into little chunks feels awesome
>The weapons feel a lot more balanced I found myself using my other weapons a lot more than just sticking to the plasma cutter
>The USG Ishimura feels fully realised now. everything being connected really helps to make the ship feel alive now that the levels no longer end with a trip to the tram
>Gore is fantastic across the board
>Necromorphs all look great and sound great.
>Graphics look super nice.
>Line Gun is a fucking beast now and it's alt fire is Godly
>I liked a lot of the story changes like Chen being a bigger focus and Mercer being a more threatening villain
>The Turret sections feel fun now
>improved boss fights
>Zero G feels great
>I liked the side quests
>Isaac adds a lot to the game as he finally gives his inputs and makes most of the dissensions without becoming a chatter box
>Game kept true to the lore and world of Dead Space keeping it feeling bleak and nasty
>Game even got a few little jumps out of me despite me being accustomed to Dead Space

I will still play the OG but If someone did start with the remake to get into the series I don't think it's a bad start.
I'm feeling the opposite when it comes to difficulty. Maybe I'm too accustomed to DS2 after N runs on Zealot/Hardcore, but the remake plays a bit differently and feels harder as a result.
