Now maya is not a subcription, neither the other autodesk tools.
They have replaced their old subscription model with a token system from videogame arcades.
You can now buy 300 tokens pack or more.
Opening Maya now cost 6 tokens per use.
>mfw not an autodesk loser
fricking loser, lmao.
>Have to use digital tokens that expire to use your professional software
>Have to pay a subscription service to use your car's air conditioner
50 bucks says by the end of the decade there are pacemakers with monthly sub fees.
sounds like piracy is still a way to go with autodesk products
>sounds like piracy is still a way to go with any software
FTFY
I don't know about you guys but I've been thinking real hard about investing in agriculture.
>Open bag of seed
>Seed has a microchip embedded that stops the growing process if you don't pay your monthly subscription
its called GMOs and they have been around for a couple of decades. the plant can only grow once but is sterile, forcing you to buy new seeds from GayCorp™every single year. they basically destroyed the indian farming market this way. and that is in addition to them causing cancer
>GMOs are sterile
>don't let GMOs propagate
make up your minds you fricking schizos
>in agriculture
moronic idea
invest in land instead
Just don't let any GMO crops blow their seeds onto your property and propagate
Not really sure how we ended up in a mix of government commie heavyhandedness and ancap bullshit like this
drive a truck of fertilizer to software companies.
Buying food and paying rent is like a monthly subscription to live
moron
>Literally who Twitter Screencap and stupid fricking drones who take everything at face value
Flex is literally for people who want to use it for a few days or weeks instead of buying the whole ass software.
Which you can still do
Learn to read you fricking homosexuals
t. corporate bootlicker
fricking bacterials in here. how much do you get paid?
These posters are a prime example of why people make fun of your average Ganker user with their sub-30 IQ
>Bootlicker
>Shill
>Goy
Because I'm not the one blindly believing a TWITTER SCREENCAP?
I haven't told you to buy the software or to "Accept" their flex mode
I'm pointing out how braindead you children are because you can't be assed to spend 30 seconds and look it up yourself
thank you my best random anonymous not clearly an autodesk employee poster.
>Hey Johnson, there are some anonymous posters on Ganker that are talking down the new Flex feature. Can you take a few minutes to deal with that?
>Sure Mr. Sheckleburg, I'll do it after my lunch break.
>Yeah, we're gonna need you to do it now, some of those guys are talking about piracy and someone brought up investing in agriculture, can you do this through your lunch break?
>Yes Mr Sheckleburg... Sorry...
But that's exactly the kind of people who pirate the software. Everybody knows all users who only want to try out some expensive design software, or keep it for personal use always pirate it, especially if it requires a subscription. Some small businesses do too. The only people who are expected to buy it are corpos and other big name businesses who are under a lot of scrutiny, because if word ever came out of them pirating their software, they would get sued to shit or at the very least ruin their reputation, and that's just not worth the risk.
It's literally just like winrar, but with extra "cheaper" options to hopefully trick a couple morons into getting scammed.
this has been a thing for a while now. where does it say they are getting rid of the subscription model? i can still get it up on the website. it's aimed at people who aren't daily users but don't want to pay for the full-price subscription. only a weekend hobbyist? you only need to pay for what you use.
also you can still get the indie version for less than $300 if you wanted to. and the educational edition is completely free.
don't want to pay for it? good. use blender. pirate it. noone cares
Literal tears streaming down this goyim's face as he posts this
I fricking hate morons like you that haven't caught on yet.
>corp comes up with some bullshit to nickel and dime their customers for everything they can
>but they know that it will piss off their customer base
>so they make it optional and present it to morons like you as some sort of convenience
> then bit by bit they normalise it and make it mandatory
>and dipshits like this anon will say "why are you complaining, this is the way its been for years now"
I remember when horse armour in Obvlivion was a joke, mainly because of how pointless it was. But now we've got games that are all about throwing as much money at the publishers for the slim chance to do better in the game, and I'm starting to think that the horse armour had to be pointless otherwise the bullshit wuld have been stopped.
>Need to buy one time use tokens to use a software
>The tokens also have a use by date and if go unused expire
We are hitting levels of hebrew once thought impossible.
Don't need to buy anything. Learn to read dipshit
Fricking christ you kids are beyond stupid
Things like this wouldn't be necessary if the goyim just gave their money to us.
The only use I could see out of this is to use their pirated software and then pay for tokens to load the models and launder them to release for the kind of clients who worry about licensing.
Pretty sure you can do that in other software too though.
I LIKE PAYING FOR OFFICE 365.
What is the cost for a year's sub to the software?
I don't like what they are doing but I am just curious.
more than 1.5k usd
shut the frick up shill.
So this pricing lowers it to around 1.1k, it's actually cheaper in the long run?
>more than 1.5k usd
dishonest blender shill. it's been $290 for a while now and it's much much better than your pajeet-made garbage. good luck spending $300+ on addons to make it half usable (and still being unable to do decent texture painting)
Yes, thank you Mr. autodesk employ.... I mean, my greatest ally Ganker anonymous user.
Thank you for letting us know autodesk garbage, I mean professional software is still leagues ahead blender.
>big corpo almost killed off piracy by making digital movies/games/software easier to access, pay for and maintain
>immediately proceed to create a massive resurgance in piracy by competing with each other in the streaming markets, taking down titles from competitors, shifting from subscription to anti-consumer token systems, removing one-time payment options for software and making timed-exclusive digital releases
The pendulum always swings both ways. Always.
And it swings back into trash territory way faster than it gets out of it.
I still laugh at the though of how Netflix managed to reduce movie/show piracy almost a wooping 20% in america when it gained traction, then next year all is lost thanks to prime video, Disney + and such.
The only thing auto desk has done to affect an individual is the removal of easy and perpetual educational licenses, which is barely a dent as personal use piracy has always been a thing since full licenses used to have an upfront cost of 30k+ from the user. If you are making money (below 100k usd )from this charge the 300 within your invoices, or as other anon stated launder. The only benefit of a token system is dulled by the expiry date so you can't hoard them for delivery dates.
>open once
>never close it
what now?
the tokens last 24 hours.
how long do they last if never used?
they last 1 year if not used.
see
>Opening Maya now cost 6 tokens per use.
so what's stopping you from just leaving it on so you only have to pay once
autodesk is almost impressive in their ability to make their products worse for the customer, they make adobe blush
doesn't a regular monthly subscription already cost like around 30 bucks?
do they really expect someone to pay 300$ for little more than a half month's worth of tokens?
