You literally get nothing, zero, zilch, nadda, from getting them -- so why grind and play unfulfilling games to get them?
Also further proof there's something wrong with achievement hunters:

Grinding achievements for a decade+ dead multiplayer game.

have a nice day
Same thing that makes an anon do
it's simply the pointless dopamine rush of achieving an arbitrary goal
Most newer games are just not fun
I'm not cheating on my wife by raping underaged fans, nor do I come up with ways to call my coworkers "gay" on camera without the audience realizing that's what I'm saying, nor do I use my impotence to shield my company from the controversy of our choice to sell mail order dick pills to teenagers, and I don't even steal my employees pay. I'm sorry, but I just don't think I'm the right person to explain the mindset of an achievement hunter. To be honest with you, I'm not sure it's a mindset I would want to understand.
>make the same thread again just to receive the same answers
Why?
third worlders
My guess he is trying to promote that YouTube channel
Two aspects:
1. Competition - wherever it's possible to be better than others, people (men) will try it
2. Autism - must get all achievements or the game isn't really 'complete'! It's not done properly, it's not quite right. Games exploit this mental quirk
Never saw the point personally and never platted a game
i only ever got 100% cheevos on dark souls 1, mordhau, and celeste
dark souls 1 because i wanted to feel like an epic frickin gamer
mordhau because it was my favorite game
celeste because i wanted to make a precision platformer game and felt like i needed to be very good at the genre before i was worthy of making one
none of them were enjoyable experiences, never gonna do that shit again
>Two reddit comments with barely any likes on them
okay thanks for showing me this anon.
It isn't about the likes you fucking low IQ retard - it's about the mindset of somebody who would make both those posts in the first place.
Why do you care about what two people on reddit said?
I've seen similar complaints on Ganker
Ok so since you're moving goalposts.. Why do you give a fuck if someone on Ganker cares about achievements or not?
>calls someone a low IQ retard
>spends more than 10 seconds of his day worrying about people liking achievements on an anonymous image board
The guy in the video you posted clearly had a lot of fun unlocking them so what's the issue?
Achievements exist. Most people don't have them. They hunt them.
Does this look like nothing to you? Stupid
Yes
That's less than nothing, I think less of you for it
Imagine that you don't like apples, but everyone else does. Would you stand by the apples asking every person why they like apples when they buy some?
i think it's kind of fun seeing how many achievements you naturally get from playing it, specifically "hunting" for them is a waste
>You literally get nothing, zero, zilch, nadda, from getting them
uhhh... you get an achievement. duh.
sometimes you'd also get a bit of clothes for your xbox avatar
Autism
Elden Ring excelled in it's trophies- you will get most just by playing the game naturally and exploring everything. The last few are just alternate endings.
Compare to DS2 or DS1 where there are achievements for things like "learn all gestures" or "upgrade a completely useless weapon tier to max".
Things are getting better
DS1 begs to be replayed anyway so those make sense.
DS2 is DS2.
>Kill the final boss
>Unlock all the weapons (if there's less than 15) or all the fun ones (if there's more)
>Kill the final post-game boss (if there is one)
>Unlock hidden secrets (if they're fun)
Yep. That's as complete as I'm getting.
>play game for 100+ hours
>unlock 80 achievements
>look at steam
>80/100
>"20 hidden achievements not shown"
>Click "compare achievements with other players" or however it's worded
>See all secret achievements
This is what I did for Isaac.
Who cares? Do they have fun? If they do, why care ?
What games did you perfected?
Kinda gay that the Vita and PS4 versions of ZTD share trophies when they came out a year apart.
Getting all the achievements in DR2 Case Zero was fun. Then the sequels had multiplayer achievements so I didn't bother. Besides the inherent annoyance of them, I've heard DR2's multiplayer is extremely buggy and takes several people to boost.
Dopamine fried losers that can't enjoy games, these are the same gays that don't play older games because they don't have achievements, it's genuine autism
moron you don't play at all.
Well some of them make a youtube career out of it I guess.
They have lost all intrinsic motivation for doing anything and are just checking off lists in every part of their life.
if I truly like a game, I go for the achievements.
Since I usually take a pic when I finish my games it is nice to have that extra touch there with the complete.
I have an album with more than 200 complete games
Man I got 1000 on this game legit and didn't even get the loser ones for dying in the campaign or getting raped in multilayer. I think I'm actually the only person in the world to do this.
They can be good for if trying to suck a game dry of it's content, but actively going for them first playthrough/using a guide is pretty dumb.
>beat a game and get most of its trophies
>one hidden trophy left
>look it up
>it's for a missable interaction you had to do before beating the game
fuck you saints row IV
fuck you psychonauts
