Weird, I did the same and Platinumed everything post 3. I had great fun with K2, as 2 was my favorite.
When did you start though, on what kind of pace have you been playing them?
Pretty much blasted from 1-5 without stop. Took a break before 0 then went 0-K1-6. Started K2, burnt out and now I'm trying to finish it almost a year later.
The #1 hostess substory in 3 is driving me insane. I have the girl with all S ranks, max motivation, I give her free time, and she STILL manages to get stressed out on the shift and frick up her final ranking. The guides also say that new options should be popping up for training along with new clothing accessories, but I haven't seen diddly dick, and I must have done 12 shifts already.
Yeah, Hostess Maker is a terrible minigame. I have no idea how they intended for you to do it without a guide because you'd need to manually do individual runs where you change one single equip and see what the difference is and spend like 30 rounds just doing to to have a basic idea of what the outfits give you.
Why?
I know it's rough on base PS4, but it really shines on PS5 and PC.
The old engine was rough as well. It didn't really shine until the games were on PS4.
I love the "japanese" aesthetic and love the general theme of organised crime/mafia in games and movies but I dropped yakuza 0 after like an hour.
Here is a cutscene, now it's down to a 5 minute slideshow, now back to cutscene - now walk from A to B - and back into RPG-tier dialogue where it's 2 essays worth of scrolling text.
Gameplay loop in general wasn't great.
Personally I think the gameplay is pretty fun, but I have no idea what you have to be smoking or where you have to hit your head to consider the plot of these games any good, yet I see them praised all the time, they're all telenovela tier garbage
It's better than Yakuza 3
It's the 3rd best in the series
it really is not.
Y3 was a MASSIVE upgrade from Kiwami1-2, and I've played all of these for the first time this very year.
You don't have to do the 300 hours of side content, you can blitz the main story and easily finish quickly
All the Yakuza games are fun, but if you don't enjoy yourself, quit.
I started with 1 on the PS2 and played in release order up to K2 but this is the first entry I'm really having to force myself to finish

I started when 3 came out and never really burned out, except a bit with Yakuza 5. But it' ok to drop it, K2 is not better than vanilla 2 anyways.
You're the weird one here.
Everything from 3 forwards has been like a return to / slow evolution towards 0's greatness.
I absolutely hate the stupid fricking ragdoll in Kiwami 2
I, personally, love it, sometimes
I just don't like half the heat moves being tied to locations
At least your moves aren't heavily undertuned like in 6. Only your dropkick actually deals damage in that game.
only your c.c. lemon actually deals damage in that game you mean
>enemy flies through a wild jackson store
>clerk tells me to frick off
I feel bad
Just drop it if you dont enjoy it.
Don't be a moronic completionist and just finish the story
the final fight alone makes everything worth it
Kiryu and Kaoru making out before the bomb detonates.
One step closer to 8
You need motivation? I just finished completing it a couple days ago. I had a pretty good time coming back to it.

Okay, neverfrickingmind. The game decided to throw me a bone and give me the options after I lucked out with a perfect shift.

Just think about how sexy Kaoru is. And how based the game is.
his name is Kiryu
Oh you rascal.
Yakuza 2 is based, yes
Kiwami 2 is cringe
Disagree. While not as based as OG Yakuza 2, it's still a damn good game.
it's not yakuza 0. enjoy 3, 4, haruka's part in 5, 6,
and 7 if you hate turn based games.
>enjoy 3, 4, haruka's part in 5, 6
I did actually
I liked Haruka's part too.
Her ass in the Princess League Round 2 gear was FAT.
3 is fricking garbage
i hate dragon engine
Why?

Because it fricking plays terribly too
3-0 play way fricking better than the fricking doodoo engine.
Yakuza games are shit.
