Feels a little disingenuous to use the same image for 6~9. There's still little difference between the models, but using what they actually look like better sells how shit things are.
Untrue, gamefreak just sucks at making 3D models. The models in the n64 and gamecube games look great because gamefreak didn’t make them, even some of the wii games look nice, better than whatever’s been on switch, aside from new snap, which gamefreak didn’t make either.
I don't know what random e-celeb you're talking about but I do think it's funny the contrarian hivemind on here has to latch on to stuff that is seen by the public as bad or the worst.
Battle frontier fucking sucked dick and was a stain on one of the best games in the series.

are there any that have actually 'fun' stuff to do instead of just making it pokemon kaizo edition?
Fusion had an ok gimmick and even without said gimmick there were a few neat things.
>try Crystal Clear >get bored of the slowness of the game >try Black and White 3: Genesis >get annoyed by outdated Gen II mechanics and the annoying balancing >try Radical Red >every trainer is hypertuned as fuck and the sheer amount of available Pokemon is overwhelming
I can't tell if I'm just not into Pokemon anymore or the romhacks just swing too hard in the opposite direction.
Both, actually: >Pokefags nowadays lean way too hard into comphomosexualry and nuzlocke bullshit >But that's pretty much the state GF has been taking the franchise lately, so one might consider it the new normal
I heard Radical Red was good but Ive played Inclement Emerald and can attest to it being very good. They basically tried to balance every Pokemon by giving them at least some niche to consider. To the point random trainers and gyms are actually fucking tough when they pull shit out of their ass with their own full teams and trained mons
Inclement Emerald was fun. I also thought the Drayano hacks were good especially the ones for B/W2 and Platinum, but some people don't like them. Clover is way better than it has any right to be.

I like the increased difficulty except some of the gym leaders are ridiculous, especially Misty. Your pokemon have tackle and leer and they have a full team running OU tier moves.
Heonn is just the most kino region that captures the spirit of adventure especially from gym 6 onwards, even FRLG are the best remakes because they took one of the best region designs and removed all the bugs and flaws from RBY.
unrelated, but a couple of days ago I happened to think about videogames cases for some reasons. It suddenly dawned on me how I miss GBA cases. Simple as fuck and prone to damage, but that carton had something special when I got one of them as a kid.
Plastic cases can't even compare
too blue and not yellow enough to be soulful. main char design is kinda weird, muic soundfont is kinda weird. its nice but gbc pokemon games were way better
Pokemon has always been ugly compared to other games, I don't know why you're making this about generational nonsense since pokefags eat shit in any decade.
please understand the company from my childhood was different! please ignore gen 1 being more bug than working code and gen 2 famously being so shit they had to have iwata bail them out
>my standards for 2D are lower so that makes shit 2D ok!
no one cares
Fact
It sure is convenient how this image leaves out the fact that Gen 5's Pikachu sprite is identical to Gen 4's. But that goes against the narrative that Gen 5 isn't lazy dogshit, right Unovafag?
>no one cares
good job ignoring the objective part about performance, giganagger >It sure is convenient how this image leaves out the fact that Gen 5's Pikachu sprite is identical to Gen 4's. But that goes against the narrative that Gen 5 isn't lazy dogshit, right Unovafag?
except in that case the sprite is the same as the one from the previous games (not even the previous gen) and it was also animated. Meanwhile they've been using the same mesh and animations for 4 gens now
Bros I recently tried the Battle Factory (since I transferred all my other relevant Pokemon) for the first time in a decade. I made it to Norman first try, then got slammed by his Raticate and Minun.
oras is objectively better because of the shit with fug too
They were an excellent remake and flying into space to assfuck Deoxys was awesome. The space battle was over in one hit though. Should have made you fight all Deoxys forms.
I'm doing a playthrough of Sapphire right now and it is extremely boring. I can hardly imagine how much more grueling it'd be if I didn't pick the water starter.
Yeah there's a reason why everyone just plays emerald instead. Aside from the post-game and better story, it has a lot more subtle improvements like more trainers in gyms, boss trainers having better (or at least more interesting teams) and actual double battles. It's not much but it does make the moment to moment gameplay much better.
It doesn't matter in the slightest for a normal playthrough, and when it comes to battle facilities all you really need is average IVs and a beneficial nature, it's really not that bad to grind.
Sprites will always age better than polygons

first day here?
How is that any different from what he posted? It's the same model but on the 3ds...
It's quite honestly impressive that even the face of Pokemon, Pikachu, has absolutely fuck all effort put into it when used in 3D.
Fixed
3 is where the soul peaked

its mostly the animations of stadium that make them so much better. the gamefreak models are so static and lifeless, they have no character.
>The models in the n64 and gamecube games look great because gamefreak didn’t make them
Creatures made both the Stadium and 3DS models.
Pokemon's sprite art isn't even good
The peak
Everything after was a mistake
HGSS was literally better in every way
lol no
johto always sucked and gen 2 KANTOOOOOOO is lifeless
>Battle Frontier is best post game content of any Pokemon game
>never incorporate again
What did they mean by this?
Took way too much dev time to implement
Yes instead they focused on amazing attention to detail like 95% of attack animations never actually connecting
Frontier is best post game content of any Pokemon game
Whoisthisgit, “The Worst Levels” guy actually had some problems with the battle frontier and brings up good points about it

Battle frontier fucking sucked dick and was a stain on one of the best games in the series.
How is an optional post-game a stain? Also, the Battle Factory should be a permanent addition to Pokemon games.
You are supposed to play only main storyline on Ganker, anon

It seems like most of his complaints are "This is fun without the win streak.". So just remove the win streak.
Don't care, I'm still going into the battle pyramid with my level 90 sceptile and 2 filler mons to try and beat it anyway
Game freak hate effort
No it sucks and underscores everything wrong with pokemon's combat.
How?
people have no time for that anon, they're always on their phone
small family company, please understand
What is /THE/ definitive ROMHACK? The bestest one with the most fun and polished content?
Moemon
Touhoumon
pokemon rocket edition
my top 5 in no particular order
>gaia
>unbound
>prism
>polished crystal
>glazed
Rogue Emerald
are there any that have actually 'fun' stuff to do instead of just making it pokemon kaizo edition?
Fusion had an ok gimmick and even without said gimmick there were a few neat things.
Snakewood
I liked Infinite Fusion, but it's not really a romhack.
Otherwise Inclement Emerald was pretty cool.

I played altered emerald recently. It’s difficulty is pretty balanced.
Might have to give that a try.
It’s pretty good. Lots of new areas were added and the level curve is a lot better than the base game
Radical red
Radical Reddit is trash

gen 2 is the peak, but gen 3 really struck a cord with me
i loved how it handled boxes
Heonn is just the most kino region that captures the spirit of adventure especially from gym 6 onwards, even FRLG are the best remakes because they took one of the best region designs and removed all the bugs and flaws from RBY.
All Pokémon games are SOUL and KINO!!
This! I really enjoyed Pokemon Scarlet and I can't wait to play the rest of the DLC :3
When it comes to Pokemon, it's an easy formula: 2D = good. 3D = trash.
Stadium and Colosseum were pretty cool
Absolute truth.
Hoenn... Home
Blessed if anyone ever got this for 2005 Christmas

use the color correction shader. It's cozy as fuck.
these tilesets are so fucking ugly
Alright zoomy. Go back to your overtly realistic and genuinely ugly 2023 AAA title grafix in Slopfield and Alan Cuck 2.
Pokemon has always been ugly compared to other games, I don't know why you're making this about generational nonsense since pokefags eat shit in any decade.
please understand the company from my childhood was different! please ignore gen 1 being more bug than working code and gen 2 famously being so shit they had to have iwata bail them out
how did iwata bail them out? because it wasn't by saving space on the cartridge.
he made a faster decompressor
correct. however, I don't think load times would have been a showstopper from gen 2 releasing in an age of disc-based loading.
Not the GBA vertical slices!
>I don't know why you're making this about generational nonsense
It's called coping, anon. It's natural for pokefags.
Bad 2D graphics are more bearable than bad 3D graphics, and at least the performance was good.
>my standards for 2D are lower so that makes shit 2D ok!
no one cares

Pokemon Black & White 1/2 were unironically more SOVLFVL
Bros I recently tried the Battle Factory (since I transferred all my other relevant Pokemon) for the first time in a decade. I made it to Norman first try, then got slammed by his Raticate and Minun.
>tfw just learned how to rng manip and got perfect shiny groudon and latios
i'll be using them in mt battle in my current quest to 100% colosseum
2D games were kino but 3D gave us Shauna, Lillie and Marnie so I can't complain.
Hoenn gave us our first Tan Girl in the series with Phoebe right? It’s based for that
Imagine the braps she can make with that thing.
>Afrobull
Imagine the cock between her legs.
Salamence is my favorite Dragon Type in the series
Gen3 was very souless coming from Gen2.
>50 steps into safari park and she gives you this look
wat do
i much preferred ORAS, you get to go on a date with May at the end
oras is objectively better because of the shit with fug too
They were an excellent remake and flying into space to assfuck Deoxys was awesome. The space battle was over in one hit though. Should have made you fight all Deoxys forms.
i just threw a masterball the second deoxys appeared. kwab
not with those shitty 3d graphics
>Route 34
>introduces breeding
What did GameFreak mean by this?
May is fertile
That is route 117 tho
nice fucking saturation fucknuts
you forgot the ugly texture filter too while you're at it
old = good
new = bad
> not using, gba color correction.
It makes the color look so much better.
"Soul" my ass. It also LOOKS and PLAYS better than modern releases, too.
I am now initiating asked for test

Who thought having to level shroomish to 54 just to get spore was a good idea?
IVs, EVs, and natures ruin pokemon for me. It bothers me to no end knowing that the pokemon I'm using could be better than it is.
It doesn't matter in the slightest for a normal playthrough, and when it comes to battle facilities all you really need is average IVs and a beneficial nature, it's really not that bad to grind.
You didn't train them right in gen 1-2 either. Why does it suddenly matter in gen 3?
For me, it's Littleroot Town
For me, myself, personally, I chose Dewford Town
pokemon is whatever the opposite of soul is. worlds first slop franchise
