It's different with these subhuman "streamers", to them spending $100k is an investment, they make that back by attracting viewers.
In so doing they are also advertising the game to a few whales and playing into blizzard's hand. They are complete scumbags, and half of them say "OH I'M SACRIFICING MYSELF FOR MY VIEWERS" like complete hypocrites.

These Anons know what's up and the guy goes for the clickbait and ragebait content for metrics. But that only makes the public execution suggestion all the more valid.
This is why a lot of people hate "content creators". This is not interesting entertainment or information. This is the same level of brainrot reality tv shows do.

I dont think it will kick up a lot of dust, starwars battlefront 2 didnt kill lootboxes. And even if they ban lootboxes or gachashit devs can avoid it. diablo immortal for example avoided having to display the odds because there is a bit of gameplay. And if you ban that they will just create an ingame currency slot machine, but you can pay to get 10x normal gold drops. So whales can still get a lot more rolls.
My hope in the past is that at some point gamers were old enough to get into government positions, and then could kill this shit. But they are already accepting of battlepasses and other garbage.

Diablo 4 won't be like this right? They won't make it a pay to win hell, right?

D3 had a real money AH. They will put in a battelpass to coincide with ladder resets, they will put in a cosmetics shop, and they will have paid server transfers (or something like that).

They can also have everything PoE has like paid stash tabs, pets, limited seasonal skins, characters slots and alternate spell graphics. They can copy and add every microtransaction in existence, and if one them ruffles some feathers they can just say sorry and backpedal.

Compare the older Halo games with Halo infinite for example, look at WoW that introduced cash shop outfits and transmogs obfuscating whatever gear you're actually wearing.

                Anonymous

Sadly, it's not even the paid cosmetics that are at the root of the problem as the majority always asks for the availability of transmog. It is now acceptable that anyone should be able to make their characters look however they like and no amount of correct justification on the representative value the looks of the items you wear present to other players will ever persuade those that want to play dress up.
