I like blocking some and dodging some, I like interesting builds and using wacky weapons, not just spastic big things jumping out of every corner to OHKO me because I didnt memorize the area

You don't have to like everything, OP, even things everyone else says are good. Games are made for audiences and sometimes you're just not in one. The best football game ever made as agreed by critics and fans will never be that fun to me because I don't like football.

BB is one of the easiest games.
Let's be honest, only Sekiro and Elden Ring are challenging, and ER can be broken in a million different ways.

        >ER
        >challenging
are you kidding me, maybe if you don't use half the machanics the game shoves down your throat, but even then any other souls would still be harder
there's a reason normalgays loved it so much, because it finally made souls accessible to them

          Yes, that's what I said.
And no, the Dark Souls games aren't more challenging. The first mandatory ER boss has adaptive combos, which already makes it more difficult than anything in the entire Souls series.

Build variety in BB is pretty bad. You're always going to be a dodgy/parry glass cannon and choices only really revolve around what weapon animation you prefer.

Yeah I think thats what "filtered" me, I like timing my shots and BB rewards the DS players that just buffed a falchion and spammed R1

What weapons were you using? how far did you get?

I recommend the axe for the beginning. It's alt form has a 360 attack, which is good for when you get crowded by mobs at the beginning. For the gun, pick whichever you like, but be aware that they both have slightly different timings for parry due to their differing projectile speeds. Go with an arcane/strength build. Focus on arcane first, and get the flamesprayer, which is available from an npc pretty early on. Fire scales with arcane, and werewolf enemies that are extremely common at the beginning of the game are weak to fire damage. Extremely effective damage type against like the first 5 bosses. Don't forget to grab the saw spear in the rafters. You can slot a blood gem into it later that will change it to scale with arcane and do fire damage.

You'll be stuck with just flamesprayer and saw spear for a while if you do what I say since arcane gear is scarce at the beginning, but once you get a little further into the game, you'll have way more options, and some of the hunter tools you get that require high arcane actually continue scaling damage all the way to 99 without a soft-cap. This kind of build will also open you up to using the Moonlight Greatsword, which is super fun.

You just gotta keep at it, definitely my favorite game.

Any questions, I'll answer if I can.

I have to admit, there's something about Dark Souls and Elden Ring's medieval genre that strikes something primal in you and makes you want to keep going. Sekiro and Bloodborne is just not the same feeling. Sekiro more so, but bloodborne is more on the victorian, halloween, gothic side and it's way better than Sekiro, but it doesn't feel the same as dark souls or elden ring. I want that high fantasy feeling. Sword in hand, fighting in a church, Angelic Choir singing in the background.

Bloodborne it almost makes you feel like you're a detective. Like sherlock holmes. Its very interesting, but like kind of don't wana sort of thing. Not my favorite thing.

How? It's not the most replayable game. Played it twice and was done. I played the DS games like 10 times each.

I thoroughly liked Bloodborne, aside from the winter lanterns and the forbidden woods. The trick weapons with it's seamless shifting attacks will never cease to amaze. Simply strapping a cannon to your arm was enough to convince me.
I still like knight aesthetics more but the overall victorian art direction of the game is just breathtaking.

DS3 and ER are as fast and spastic as Bloodborne. You can FEEL the Bloodborne effect on Dark Souls 3 with the speed of the roll and how little stamina attacks/rolls take

I find it slow. I just stopped before my ng+ ER to go play BB. Idk why I think Blood Borne is slow. I get the press the pace and get life back mechanic but.. the patterns and places are easy to remember. The telegraphing on attacks is huge. I can just scoot back or to the sides and don't have to fricking rolly polli everywhere. Trick weapons are pretty fun. The boom boom parry thing is fun. Idk. Am I alone in thinking the combat isn't some fast speedy wild frenetic thing?
