The biggest issue I've been having is just high tide on Spawning Grounds. I don't even remember it being an issue in Splatoon 2, but here it's just terrible. Everything is great even with all variables of teammates, random weapons and events my team always wins, but the moment it's high tide everything goes to hell. There's just too many enemies spreading ink all over and not enough room to move around.

Go to high ground and target long distance bosses. Remember that when you're in ball form you can run over chums and small fries if you need to escape. Also, know that bosses can destroy your tank so be careful using it.

I was killed by a Crabtank that was on the edge of mid on Scorch Gorge. Lag made it so he wasn't moving at all, suddenly teleports closer, and I tried to move behind a wall but I exploded out of thin air. Was pretty funny, but still not something that should happen so frequently.

They need to nerf Salmon Run if they have no plans to redo matchmaking. It's kind of wild that I check my stats in splat2 and I'm at 2.4 waves and in splat3 I'm at 1.2. Playing in an organized group isn't so bad, but the fail rate is so high queuing with randoms that it's starting to feel like a waste of time trying. This isn't even taking Cohozuna into account.

There was no reason for them to 1) bring flyfish back or 2) leave it untouched. Its jets should vacuum in bombs while it's launching and they should have made them bigger. A lot of problems in Salmon Run can also be solved if they gave players ink recovery up or reduce ink for bombs/egg throwing.
There is plenty of reason to bring Flyfish back. There is no reason to bring Spawning Grounds back.
Flyfish is probably the most annoying/strongest boss in SR by far. They made no changes to improve fighting against it, meanwhile they made the game mode even harder. If you miss a cycle on it it can easily lead to a snowball if you're queuing with randoms. They pumped way too much AOE into Splatoon 3 and Salmon Run reflects that.
I’ve recently had runs where I had 15+ boss kills and my teammates have had four or less. Last night I rezzed my team 13 times in one run. I’m so tired.

If your number by your grade goes below zero you get kicked back into the lower rank. Losing wave 1 costs 20 points, losing wave 2 costs 10, losing wave 3 costs nothing.
There's a literally button to derank.

I think assists is the number of eggs delivered by your teammates, but from bosses that you killed. I don't think you throwing/launching eggs affects it. Could be wrong though.

Open is more casual in the sense that you barely get or lose any rank points from it. It's the mode where people who have formed teams irl play in, so unless you've done the same it's probably a good idea to stay away from it.

Splatlings can really unload so its a good one to consider. You can have run speed and ink saver main as sub abilities, but object shredder is a main ability only just FYI

the scale system is gacha for each scale. The amount of scale you get is based on the amount of damage you do. when the critera for earning a scale is met there's a roll to see the rarity of the scale. This is why you can fail early on and get a gold scale or beat the boss and earn only bronze scale, you were lucky in the one you failed. The idea is that it's a literal bonus mode, which is why when you lose it, you don't get punished. it's just a "give it your best shot" type of deal and keep at it even if you failed this time.
Granted I think this system is just another gacha system placed to keep you invest but man there's too many already

i was Egg VP at the start this mornin and got demoted to profresh 3. i've had more success stickin in egg vp than my profresh 3 runs. all it took was a streak of frickin shit rng loadouts and waves and it was off to profresh flavor town
The only reason to do go 999 EVP is to unlock everything in the SR shop immediately, but it's more realistic for someone to just spend the scales from Cohozuna and meet the two milestones to unlock the shop that way, instead of busting a 24-hour SR session. This is under the assumption that most players in SR don't have pro friends to go on the whole rotation with.

There are badges 999 reached per stage. The 1000 kills per king will be the holy grail especially if a new one gets added at the end of the updates. I imagine I'll have all the 10k boss kill badges before I'm even halfway to cohozuna kills

It works. Some people would rather shoot one more egg at cohozuna then spend a few seconds shooting at a boss. You have to hit weakpoints even with the egg. Unsure if you can 1 shot a flyfish like you can with a special, but I know it 1 shots anything else. Shoot 2 eggs, save 1 for a boss, repeat.
flyfish you can destroy with just one if you aim it between the pods, above the wienerpit since its explosion is large.
It does work as in it does damage bosses but its way too unreliable to pull off consistently. The most it's done for me is stopping a Scrapper.

That's all I use. I rarely use the special unless I need to refill and enemies are around me. Other than that, get close and hit them. Also practice the vertical attack, I think it has a little more range.
