"Sponsored by the CCP"

I've set up a Steam curator that marks non-Chinese games whose developers or publisher has (known) Chinese investment. Did I miss any obvious ones?

- Marvelous Inc
- Quantic Dream
- FromSoftware
- Remedy
- Stunlock
- Bohemia Interactive
- Don't Nod
- Sumo Group & subsidiaries
- Activision
- Funcom
- Paradox Interactive
- Frontier Developments
- Platinum Games
- Ubisoft
- Bluehole (Krafton)

I'm not bothering to list actual Chinese games, there's too many and it's often nearly impossible to tell if they're from Taiwan or China. Chinese games are usually fairly obvious anyway, it's the massive investment in western companies that I think is noteworthy.

          >body type A or B to distinguish male and female bodies originated from tabletop.
I sincerely doubt that the choice to implement the troony appeasement choice had anything to do with some old ass tabletop you claim that did that. While you're at it, show me one fricking tabletop that described male or female bodies as "A" or "B".

Maybe not directly, but Ruined King is on Steam listed under the publisher Riot Forge.

I've marked almost 400 games so far (GAMES, not DLCs) made by developers or publishers with CCP investment.

Tencent doesn't own a "controlling stake" of Riot, they own the fricking company. Entirely. It's a subsidiary.

A lot of people think that just because a dev's games aren't on steam, it means the CCP doesn't own them.
Have these people looked at the news lately?

My mistake, I saw they bought 93% and didn't see they later bought the rest. I'll update that.

              Path of Exile?

              already marked but thanks

You forgot Mihoyo. I know that's a chink developer, but it is important to have it on your list because of how widespread genchink has become.

I originally marked Mihoyo games but decided to take them off the list since if I marked them I'd have to mark every Chinese game and that's not a hill I'm willing to push this rock up. Doubly so because I'd end up accidentally marking Taiwanese games.

All Digital Extremes games added to the list. That brings it to 398 games in total.

Thanks for sharing. China is truly based, especially to be funding such solid studios. I look forward to more Chinese investment!

The reviews are purely informational, not negative or positive. You're welcome to make your own informed purchasing decision, like when you look at the nutritional information on food labels.

Add Epic Games to the list.

Does Epic still have any in-house games left on Steam? They recently delisted everything related to Unreal.

I found some games they published though and marked those (Shadow Complex being the most notable). Thanks. Also in the process of marking games by their subsidiaries, Harmonix and Mediatonic.

          nice fake, very funny

Why are mutts so obsessed with China?

why are muttoids so buttblasted about chinks?

I'm not american (thank christ). This is an informational service and people can use it for whatever purpose they choose. I personally think it's concerning that China is taking control of so many international interests, but that's my opinion.

          >private investor invests in game
          >"uh this means the CCP is controlling this game because the investing company is from China"
          >"and this is bad because uh... the game features no diversity or inclusion"

Every significant corporation in China is under the direct supervision and control of the Chinese Communist Party and so-called "little pink" types - the ones you might've seen flagellating themselves after Nancy Pelosi landed in Taiwan. To move up in Chinese society you must be an enthusiastic CCP supporter. It's not like in USA where corporations, if anything, control the government.

Same old propaganda gearing the population up for war, they fall for it every fricking time.

Not gearing anyone up for anything. Do you find it upsetting that people might be informed who owns various companies? This is public information. I'm not outing gays or israelites in Nazi Germany or black sympathizers in the 1800s - corporate ownership isn't secret and shouldn't be something they'd want to keep hidden, so I'm doing no harm.

If anything, the CCP just says "You can't do this, this or this inside Mainland China" to Tencent and they comply. No money from the CCP. This is just schizo China boogeyman, why don't you do an "Early Life" antiisraelite curator while you're at it and save everyone else time?

Yeah Tencent is trying to effectively escape the CCP.
But they still indirectly help them everytime they buy into someone's business, regardless of their intent.

All large companies in mainland China are 'obligated' to have their leadership join the CCP, totally not to keep tabs on them and prevent them from funneling money out or evading taxes/censorship. Mihoyo wasn't officially part of the CCP until Genshit became a success and their CEO was 'invited'.
