Why is Marika in my Star Ocean game?
Celine is built for...
Me
I can't be the only one who thinks that those big 2D sprites next to the dialogue boxes don't add anything to the game. I just want to watch the little pixel sprites interact.
I think you can turn them off.
I'm so afraid of this thing being monkey's paw-ed. Star Ocean 2 is one of my all-time favorite games. The crafting system better remain untouched.
Try the demo, you can do crafting in it. It's not exactly the same but it seems fine so far. Maybe the original had more soul with the 3D animations during crafting.
>Lame
Uh, you're not supposed to use that word anymore
Glad they put some qol into the crafting system.
Now you know how many items you can actually create from the materials.
I think I will enjoy it just like I did when I was a teen. Now redo this AI image and give her the third eye she's supposed to have.
I just grabbed it off google. Here's some more.
>I just grabbed it off google.
No you didn't, go fuck yourself
There's literally a deviant art link when you search for 'opera star ocean 2' in google you schizo retard. I know it's AI, but I didn't make it.
>shit english voices
you're the only retard to blame here.
Dayyymmmnnn
I like that it lets you use the classic sprites. The remade ones (especially Rena's) don't quite do it for me. Also the English voice acting is sadly not very good by today's standards, and the fact that they've added it to every cutscene and not just the combat makes it hard to ignore.
When I think of all the really good emotional moments of Star Ocean 2, I remember reading the text while the beautiful soundtrack plays. No intrusive voice acting. I don't think it adds anything so if I do pick up the remake I'm going to turn character voices off.
From what I've heard the remastered soundtrack sounds great.
for me, it's Precis
her voice clips in the original were so awful, good lord
THERE'S MISTER ENEMY
BARRIER
bang-BANG attack!
wow, very RED
>that voice at 2:40 that sounds like a different VA
>the line immediately after that
?t=163
LMAO
HERE'S MR. ENEMY
This is everything Ive ever wanted in a star ocean game. I hope S07 takes the same path
Thank god there's no more voice collecting to unlock difficulties. Universe difficulty in this game is actually hard as fuck, at least in the original
>music got remastered too
Curious what Mission To Deep Space is going to sound like, since they've been using the same version of it in every game since 3
>not a virgin
Its fine
reminder to new people that playing as Claude is the objectively superior version of the game
CRAWD HAS ADVANCED FORWARD
Don't care, still getting to get 10 second man in my party.
Which one gets me dias
Dias shmiaz. Claude's arc gets you based Leon with the best private action in the game.
>ai slop
I played it long enough that I want to keep playing the game so now I'm going to buy it on release for $50 like a fucking chump.
>no crying about AI
Ganker is healing
fuck off soulless AI cuck
>you are like this thing that doesn't exist
I don't get it.
I wonder if they'll make spellcasters more useful. I remember running Claude, Rena, Opera, Precis until I realized that you can heal with items about as effectively as Rena heals you, and switching to another KM user.
Looks fantastic. If this succeeds, then a Star Ocean 3 remake would also be on the table. That would be the big squeeze.
if they remake SO3 they should retcon the ending
To what? Eternal Sphere gets shut off and actually disappears forever?
The whole fucking point of Star Ocean is that it is a simulation. If you retcon SO3's ending, it ruins Star Ocean completely. It also invalidates much of the lore that's introduced in SO1, SO2, SO5, and 6.
Nothing about SO1 or 2 story concepts was created with the idea that the universe was going to be a simulation. They pulled that out of their ass for 3.
You got filtered by the revelation of the Eternal Sphere so hard, you missed the actual ending to the game. My sides are on their way to the next simulation.
Yeah, that's literally anon's point. making it a sim was the worst twist of all time and retroactively makes 1 and 2 pointless because "Lol its just an mmo" they could finally redo 3 and make it into a real experience without the meta aspect
Nope. It ruins it. The whole point of SO3 was the discovery that the universe was holographic, but that through clever use of internal mechanisms of the universe, the creation were able to steal admin rights from the creators and then apply those rights from outside the simulation back in to recreate their entire universe that became a wholly consistent existence independent of 4D space; ensuring that nothing like the Eternal Sphere corporation or any power hungry programmer turned wanna be god, can ever fuck with their existence again.
It's the ultimate overcoming adversity story. The fact that you find this as a negative, shows your shit taste.
>liking shitty Japanese meta storytelling
You are the embodiment of shit taste.
Come say it to my face you coward.
You are unironically putting way thought into this ending than the devs, this isn't Eva or MGS or anything by people that actually intended you to think about the meta aspect.
The SO3 devs went "Lol what if all the series was a game?" and went for it,
Except that's not true, because there's no reason for the whole concept of the three children, three genes, and the humans trying to fight back against the creators if it was merely "what if the series was a game?" bit. That's an oversimplification.
>The whole fucking point of Star Ocean *3 is that it is a simulation. If you retcon SO3's ending, it ruins Star Ocean *3 completely
ftfy
>The whole fucking point of Star Ocean is that it is a simulation. If you retcon SO3's ending, it ruins Star Ocean completely.
I think you mean fix.
I cringe every time I see homogenized AI garbage. I can even spot it in the thumbnails
Cry harder about it
I refuse to accept "the new normal"
I spoke too soon, they're here now.
if you weren't blind, you'd notice that people pointed out the AI slop before you made your post. next time use chatGPT to summarize you the thread or something, zoomberbrain
So why'd they make Opera fugly in this remake when she's supposed to be a hot sex appeal character? She looks like a fucking man
>Its the remake art schizo again
Why do jrpgs attract the most unhinged posters
JRPGs are the most likely genre to be pozzed in remakes
I really, really don't like the "chonky 16-bit sprites in a modern UE4 game" look, it clashes so hard. At least Octopath and co had the pixelated environments so the character didn't stick out like sore thumbs.
It's a deal breaker for me.
>Unreal
That's the ironic part, its not unreal like every other 2D/HD game, its unity
> its unity
Oh lordy.
yeah, it looks like ass
I've hated what literally every SE game looks like for like 20 years.
The pixelated characters against the low poly 3D environments looks dumb, but you can at least turn off shit like bloom and DoF to make it look nicer.
Ai rike it
Not sure why everyone is complaining about AI art, the actual in game art looks just as flat
We eating bitch.
