>want to capture more ships >keep killing them when going for engines in SVATS (Space VATS) because they have no hull rating once I get through their shields
Literally suffering from success. I wish I could put similar weapon types on different fire buttons so I could only use a few to take out subsystems instead of deleting them with full volleys.
idk how it works, i've had them have no engine but for some reason i wasn't allowed to dock?? So far I haven't been able to dock with anyone even after knocking out there engines, they just can't turn anymore
do i need some fucking BOARDING perk?
I think engines and grav drive both need to be disabled.

You need to knock out the engines and be within 500m
You need to exit targeting mode. Sometimes it gives you the option to board while targeting but it fucks up and doesnt show it at least half the time its just shit ui.
There are certain ships where boarding isnt possible like starborn.
Not a bad idea, gonna sub one of the lasers out.
[...]

Knocking out the grav drive makes it a 0g fight when you board.
>want to build my own ship >too much of a brainlet to fgure out how
i just get overwhelmed by the amount of options and wich parts are needed, not to mention wich ones are good and wich ones are bad. just scrapped 500k together at lvl22 fucked around in build mode for 30 minutes failing to put the cockpit on top and said fuck it.
Rangers quest ship is a marvel of technology. You won't get a reactor stronger than 29 for a very long time.
Any good way to get levels reasonably fast? I feel like I need to be level 60 to actually have most of the shit I want.
A planet with tons of mobs that are not too strong and not too weak. Something like 50-75 XP per kill. You'll have to do it for a long time but nothing is faster than that except for cheating.
Titan, not Titania, in Sol has an outpost that sells a two-story cockpit with stairs, which if you attach to large 2x2 / 2x3 habs might leave you with no ladders anywhere
It is technically smaller (and lighter) than the high-tier Deimos bridges. But that integrated staircase is such a life-changer.
And no, it does not immunize you to random ladders. Two habs connected to the Cabot can still have a ladder connecting them.
I actually tried the 2 story cockpit, it actually made my ladder problem worse.
instead of like one ladder connecting the two floors, it instead has like 6 ladders because the game decided to not have the floors habs connect to the one next to it and instead the one above/below it
No need for it really, you don't have to commit to buying while using the shipbuilder, it will not charge you if you back out and cancel the modifications.
Unless you want to use one for parts you haven't unlocked yet.
Where the FUCK can I find "C" class ships to steal? I seen ships randomly land on planets but never see C class ships. I have the pilot skill for it but fuck buying one or building one.
There is at least one in the very beginning that lands some ecliptics if you picked the Wanted perk that will not be claimable, but other than that every other ship you can board should be capturable. But you need higher ranks in piloting to get ships that are beyond A rank.

I WANT TO STEAL
Fly around in higher level sectors until you get a random encounter. C class ships are Wights and Hyenas, if memory serves. Varuun I don't remember, but it was either a Hymn or a Litany, the smaller one actually is the higher grade ship with bigger cargo hold. I'm not sure Ecliptic has a C class ship, the highest I could get was the Falcata which was B class?
>There is at least one in the very beginning that lands some ecliptics if you picked the Wanted perk that will not be claimable, but other than that every other ship you can board should be capturable. But you need higher ranks in piloting to get ships that are beyond A rank.
It was them who landed and I have the Wanted perk, but I’ve been able to take some of their smaller ships so far.
Yeah, I have no idea why THAT ONE SHIP cannot be claimed, when just about every other bayonet or stiletto that lands can be captured. Later you will start seeing ships that you cannot enter, they will be listed as inaccessible, deploy some troops and then immediately take off the moment you kill the troops.
That has happened to be once. I thought I was too slow to get to the cockpit lol.

I've also ran into a couple of random ships that wouldn't let me sit in the pilot seat for no reason, just standard crimson fleet banshee or spacer raccoon, too. But that's like 2-3 ships out of like 50 that I've boarded and had the option to take (but didn't because raccoons are fucking worthless), and like probably 500+ I've shacked.

Ship boarding is a pretty good exp and money farm. >can board, kill everyone inside, loot it all, captain's chest and cargo hold >then get back, destroy the ship, get the exp for the crew and for the sip >loot the debris if any is generated (usually it's just cargo hold stuff) and maybe get ship parts if they get spawned too
If a game like X3 had Starfield boarding action, especially if you could lead your own marines in power armor and the fights were larger in scale, I would play no other game.
Ecliptic has the Claymore at class C. Had one land right next to me while I was building an outpost, its a pretty good ship in its default state. Nice layout and all Terra Nova parts.
I've considered many alternatives, but keep coming back to this shitbucket, just upgrading the guns/engine/etc.
Bottom floor is a "cross" with living quarters and the top a Y with workbenches. There's only one ladder (docking is downwards).
>Take pickpockting >Think I fucked up and took a useless skill >Comes up a lot with Ryujin quest >Decide to rob the woman running the dollar general in Neon >Turns out the Syndicate is running out of her freezer and she has the key >Steal tons of valuable contraband and epic weapons
Pick pocketing is great
The regular stock of guns that vendors sell is tied to your character's level, and the sniper rifles (Hard Target and Mag Sniper) start being sold around level 30 or so. Your best bet is to go to a high level system and farm elites until it drops.
>Bashing perk >on a gun that looks like this
Would've been cool of SF had durability mechanic and bashing someone with this gun would instantly break it.
You need perks into piloting at least so you can fly class C ships, otherwise you're kinda fucked for huge cargo. Buyable ships usually around 4k at the very most I think.
>watered down ass "chosen one" main questline, shit sucks and you strive to ignore it >every procedurally generated planet is devoid of anything meaningful to do and has very little to even see >NPCs look like shit >writing sucks hard dick for 70% of the game and is semi-interesting for 30% of the game, but is shallow and relatively brief throughout all of the game >most locations have inconsequential dialogue and no real quests, for those that have quests, they are fetch quests, perhaps with some combat >instanced load zones >lacks all soul >ship building and flight is cool and a redeemable part of the game >shooting is fun, an improvement on F4s basic mechanics >quests have no real variation in how you complete them, two different paths wind up at the same place >skills barely matter or are used for anything meaningful >speech checks suck and are nerfed in your favor always >stealth sucks and you can be kneeling in front of someone and remain undetected >overall worldbuilding is shallow as shit and you might read some shit in books or terminals that fills in gaps but through straight dialogue and generic settings you will not divine much about the world's internal logic and thus not feel very immersed >boring as fuck unless you're doing the main curated content >most satisfying loops rely on gimmicky shit like epic space battlez!!! or epic explosive combat!!! and not on worldbuilding or plot/dialogue depth >shallow ethical dilemmas where they even exist
>most satisfying loops rely on gimmicky shit like epic space battlez!!! or epic explosive combat!!! and not on worldbuilding or plot/dialogue depth
I bought the game to shoot shit retard. Go back to your visual novels.
The amazing shooting of shartfield >but anon the combat is fun >the combat:
if you observe ai, it actually can't pathfind to the player properly in almost every situation, gets stuck and runs in random directions or just shoots into the walls
The combat AI is literally completely fixed by a 1kb size mod file. That's how fucked up this game is, that within a week of it being launched and without the creation kit people have already made it better than Bethesda.
Experimental Combat and Stealth AI Overhauls, you need to adjust it though so that it only affects enemy tactics and not damage values as there's some fuckery goes on with legendary enemies that will 1 shot you due to damage multipliers.
I have to wonder the state of this game before phil OK'd the 1 year delay. And remember him saying there's no universe its an 11/10 game to make people sell their PlayStation... I think they recovered well but the lack of so much quality of life features ans all sorts makes me think this game development was in a state of spaghetti
Lol yeah, I'd love to see how it looked then. I'm guessing most of that was bugfixing and whatever passes for optimization in Bethesda's alternate reality rather than any gameplay changes.
>>the combat >if you observe ai, it actually can't pathfind to the player properly in almost every situation, gets stuck and runs in random directions or just shoots into the walls
So post an example of that happening in actual combat instead of the same webm of stunning a few otherwise non-combat NPCs for a single mission.
the game IS a visual novel poorly trying to masquerade being a proper game.
there's no rpg system support in the game past a handful of perks, missions are not made with roleplaying in mind (even infiltrating the most complex facilities for example is absolutely linear in ryujin questline, thief guild or dark brotherhood nearly always had a few way to complete the quest), shooting is extremely barebones, enemy pose no threat even when they aren't glitching, even if you do fuck up you have med kits to nullify that.
how about you go play an actual shooter instead of this joke?
this games only way to somewhat maybe enjoy it is just walk around and look at cute interiors and in general chill with zero thoughts or effort since it has alright visuals, good art direction and decent ost.
if you want to shoot shit this isn't for you.
In the world of gamers, there's a fanboy named Snoy,
PlayStation's his love, it's his ultimate joy.
But Starfield, he hates, 'cause it won't come his way,
On his platform of choice, it won't see the light of day.
He rants and he raves, in this gaming divide,
Wishing Bethesda's gem was on his side.
But in the end, let's remember the game's core,
It's the joy of playing that we should adore.
All these anon defending the game are brailents. Im 25 hours in and im having fun but almost every point you made is valid.
Im mostly doing main quest shit and holy shit i couldn't believe that the couple of side quests i played that the game gave me on my way to the main one had the exact same levels and enemies. One would think that being so close to the main quest (in the same planet), the side content would be at least different from one another but no.
>get sidequest to completely scan (100%) a random planet >have to land on every single biome of said planet and scan every single alien and plant MULTIPLE times since once it's not enough >find a bleeding out survivor who tasks me to take him back to his ship >whatever ok I have to explore this shit planet anyways >ship is 3km away takes 10 minutes of sprinting to get there >thanks for your help here's 2000 credits buh bye!! >land on next biome >find ANOTHER bleeding out survivor who tasks me with the same shit the other asked me
woah... endless possibilities
>ship

I want to hate fuck Ryujin CEO >guns
I soloed few NG+ runs with cutter, best gun >planet

>The Colander >reading all these logs of everyone dying >literally nothing happening >quiet and creepy >all systems offline >randomly see a red dot on minimap >nothing >master level lock door >....
OH GOD OH FUCK
>decide fuck it let's check out these high as fuck level planets >pick random level 75 planet in middle of fucking wherever >be level 23 >letsgooo >show up >ecliptic base POI >.... >enemies are level 16
The quest "Refurbished Goods" seems to have issues. I would recommend all the pilots here to avoid it until next patch. In the meantime I would recommend to visit the satellite of Saturn, Titan
>fitness skill is bugged >only way to increase it is to exhaust all my co2 inside the ship by running against a wall because it doesn't count it on planets due to the bug >finally manage to get it to 20/20 maxed out >have to do it 50 times on step 3
Not sure if that's intentional or a bug. I guess it would make sense you would increase your lung capacity by running until you start hurting yourself, but also it's very annoying to have to grind out running until your CO2 is depleted. I guess you could just overencumber the character and run to speed up the process.

The opinions on this game are so weird lol. On one hand I've read people saying ship building is the worst part of the game and just as many say its the best. Is this a Filtered simulation game?
Well this game doesn't have much going for it the exploration gets boring after like your 4th planet with life, to many reused assets and structures not enough variety and 99% of the quests/characters are not memorable compared to previous Bethesda titles before FO4.
Despite everything else the ship designer really is good for all sorts of combinations and it's fun to spend hours just designing a new ship and I haven't touched outpost building yet I assume that might be interesting as well.
I found outpost building less fun than F4 because they cut electrical wiring and just added a "work station" item to allow for people to be staffed.
But I guess they did it because they wanted to focus on the new stuff which is a robust resource extraction, production, and logistics system.
Kind of annoying that certain stuff requires perks though. Like, you can farm plants and animals but need those perks that no one ever takes to do it.
I only have the first point in outpost building but storage is annoying me. I have a 8x4 tower of medium crates right now and it's still only like 3k storage.
You can make chests but chests don't count towards crafting so they're effectively useless. I'm really hoping the storage capacity is a lot higher on the higher ranked shit. I'm just tired of wasting mass on my ship for cargo so I'd like to actually store everything at my outpost.
>cannot preview interiors
Yeah the way that habs connect seems random to me. Sometimes I'll end up with doorway and sometimes it'll be a wall and I'll end up with some zigzagging monstrosity. I just want a large interior instead of just stacking a few habs and having a bunch of ladders. I want corridors, ramps, random rooms and shit.
It's kind of silly that you cannot, since you can actually see the insides of the interior if you clip through the parts. Sure they are lower resolution and not as detailed, but still, why the fuck not let people plan their ships.
There's a lot of things in this game that could have been made 100x better with just a tiny bit more effort. It's actually quite an incredible feat to make a game that could have been 10/10 but just fudge the fundamental details and QoL shit. It's almost like a gifted opera singer hitting bum notes on purpose.

The one called StarUI thankfully works on gamepass. It might require SFSE eventually but for now it doesn't.
Newbie here, I've gone for a soldier background so no pilot skills, and the tutorial space battle felt pretty bad to me. Should I invest at least a few into piloting or crew perks to better stand a chance in future? Also I've just hired a couple guys in new atlantis for my stater ship, how do they work? Thanks anons
Having people assigned to your ship who have any ship related skills will give you effective ranks in those abilities to compensate for lower skills. You should put at least a point into piloting because it let's you properly control your ship with full turning control/etc.
That's cool thanks anon. Do I need to worry about assigning them to areas like FTL or is that all automatic? Also can you take any of your ship crew out as followers?
No there's no command stuff unfortunately you just assign them to the ship and you get the perks. I know the named characters from the main quest can become followers but I don't know about people you hire from bars.
You can take the named ones out but not the generic specialists. Most of them are moralfags and hate murder. Its rare to find one that is actually haha ill help you kill everyone. Really wish i had picked the fan.
(You) need more windows for the cool views, gay OP >heres the last screenshot of muh ship, SlamPig
it looks a bit different now, got better weapons too
This is probably the most frustrating good game I've ever played (not shitposting bros I still find it comfy)
But man I dont think any Bethesda game has been more in need of "mods will fix it". Its so strange some of the things they've evolved on while somehow taking 10 steps backwards in others. The possibilities with this game are endless but it needs more time in the oven with patches, dlc and a lot of mods
That all said I'm having a lot of fun and I'm enjoying my random perks coming up with quests etc. So I can choose more fitting RP ones and not feel like I'm gimping myself
I literally just spent 5 hours this afternoon building a brand new ship from scratch and expanding my first outpost.
Seems the ship building hangar you build at your outpost has a better selection of modules than New Atlantis which I'm a bit bummed out about because I like my new ship but now I'm going to end up making another one in a little bit.
I think he genuinely despawns or is stuck in the landing bay because I don't see him in my ship either. I think the game had trouble placing him based on what Habs you are using. I've also seen him on the exterior of my ship when using the docking cradle for ships/stations.
Why are people crying about the main storyline? Its not the story of the century but its pretty fun, much better than fallout 4 but thats not hard to accomplish
luv me the sidestar, kodama, and shotty.
Sidestar for a solid basic shooter, shotty for sci fi and hectic rushes, kodama as an all-rounder
best 3 weapons for you all?
>automatic Beowulf
definitely one of the more busted rifles in the game, second time I found a legendary one in my playthroughs and I made it burst because automatic just shreds through absolutely everything
i'd love to try out the gameplay but the game crashes some time before the first fight
no other new game has these issues and all run flawlessly at max, the game is an unoptimized crap heap
What difference does it make since it's not really a vehicle that you control? You don't ever feel the physics of it and how it handles as a big machine. There is no space flight in this shitty game.
Why are you replying if you not engaging in the topic?
>You don't ever feel the physics of it and how it handles as a big machine.
What does this even mean? No space game really gives you that feeling, even shart shitizen, I've flown Hammerheads which are fucking huge and never did the feel match up to the size of the thing.
Name one game where the movement speed, turning speed and the feel of the movement stays exactly the same while your character is on foot versus when you enter a vehicle. Do you think developers in most open world games with vehicles in them neglect such a basic thing? Do you just sit in your parent's room or have you ever handled a big machine? They all handle differently. People like to handle big machines. If you play Arma III the vehicles feel different. GTA V has different physics for everything. What is it that you don't understand about this? Bethesda is so incompetent they "give" you a vehicle you can't even control. How lame and low quality, just like the whole game.

>put like 60k into a custom ship >see what its sell value is >16k
Lmao fuck this game, but it's also like 130k for a pre-built class B ship. I'm gonna just steal more ships from pirates and mercs.
There isn't anything to do. Not one player has said the story is anything noteworthy. You phrase your post as if it's a game with endless rich possibilities, but it couldn't be further from the truth.

You can't run with this excuse forever. I was told the same thing before Oblivion, during the launch and after launch. Rinse and repeat for every single Bethesda game since. Didn't work then, doesn't work now. It's amazing to watch you billionaire corporation fanatics stoop so low you have the nerve to say "you don't know yet" AFTER a game's launch. No other fanboy/fanatic has that much guile. I can go to any other game thread, but they don't dare to stoop so low.

Why do you think you would have a more educated opinion than somebody who closely studies Bethesda games? The fanaticism that their mediocre games generate is pretty amazing to behold. I actually am mostly into the psychology behind it more than the games at this point. We have objectively buggy, incoherent in terms of world-design, games that are graphically behind the curve and cannot fulfill their pre-launch promises (as in lied about), that have to be fixed with gigabytes worth of mods, and yet there persists an amazingly ignorant mass of customers for these games. Do you think Bethesda could ever create a game that you wouldn't buy, for as long it's a copypaste of Oblivion/Fallout etc.?
The ship you design with StroudEklund looks really sleek imo and has good stats, I was going to try my hand at making a Normandy replica but I like this enough to roll with it for now
i made a dude, im in NG+ just doing the pirate quest before building a custom ship again to go to NG++, see if it plays out differently if i dont skip constellation quests since you can basically collect all the artifacts in an hour or 2 if you do
>mfw I rob the uc surplus shopowner blind of all his ammo weapons and suits then go sell it to the trade authority >come away with a military suit and a mini gun and enough credits to get me crew
Its just that easy
I have taken ships on the ground, I think any ship that lands in a random zone except bounty hunters. Even had a UC ship land and I could jutst take it without killing anyone or getting any bounty
One of my outposts is just outright broken now, birds-eye view build mode just freezes up and any workstation I try to place just says "this workstation is obstructed" no matter where I put it. Restarting the game's did nothing so I've had to delete everything on the outpost and start again.
The whole endeavour has been an exercise in frustration, there's no way to filter resources unless it's locked away in some perk and lack of storage is a constant pain in the arse so you have constant bottlenecks you need to run around fixing. It's a really half-baked Factorio that at the moment is only realy useful for XP farming
lmao all you fags can do is show off your gay little leggo ships, because everything else in this game is a steaming pile of shit >nevermind actually using them >I-I'm having fun I swear that why I need a confirmation bias thread
its the best bethesda game to date no doubt
so much to do
exploration is so good every hour something new yes
so much dialogue
ship flying is perfect
performance is really good yes!
I rescued 5 geologists on a moon and now they are in my ship untill I land in HopeTown, they fucking teleport with me thru doors and when boarding other ships, It makes me fucking laff manically, they also KINDA help during boarding but they are killable so I have to be careful, pic related touring them in UC Vigilance
Wouldnt you? Imagine traveling the star with the only literal super god of the galaxy (excluding the other supergods, those are hostile). I would be a machine full of smiles
>level 25 >just did a few quests and went exploring >all points into scanning, geology, zoology, botany etc >play factorio and like automation >make 8 awesome outposts, each has like 4-6 unique resources >cant actually use them because helium requirements
cargo links dont split, they dont load balance, you cant filter except on type, there isn't enough space to avoid overflow. it's just asinine, I doubt any of the devs even bothered to make a real outpost. I just unlocked the 2nd tier of fabrication and I'm not even interested trying to figure out how the fuck you get 4 compound/exotic resources. apparently there is a social skill to increase links, but that just seems pointless to me. spent the entire weekend.
>>all points into scanning, geology, zoology, botany etc
dont
you barely if any need all that shit
its easier to buy all the materials than scanning herbing etc.
>dont
well I'll go ahead and ask now - is there any drawback from a crimson fleet run? I accidentally blew up a UC ship once and sarah flipped the fuck out.
No, that's what I tried to do but you need both ends of the link to have a interstellar cargo pad fueled with He3 for it to work. What you can do is have multiple outposts in one system ship to a central outpost with an interstellar link that then ships out to your outpost in another system but it just creates a new problem which is the massive bottleneck you'll have to be constantly unclogging so your production doesn't shit itself.
i only looked up to do the mantis quest asap because it says level 30 but apparently theres not level 30s on that planet
and this starting ship sucks.
i wasted so much fuckin time doing these activity things for people on like the worst fuckin city.
Can i build/buy a ship with a good amount of cargo with 300k credits and no points in the ship building shit? Felt like a breath of fresh air when I upgraded the starter ship to 2400 cargo but now I'm almost filling it up already. I dorm care much about mobility and the rest, my current one can barely move already.
I only have materials in there, maybe I have too many of some?
Why do you need the ship? Can you fly it around, or do you just have OCD and worthless time in your personal life? Is getting a "better ship" in Starfield better than playing some random indie game from Steam that actually does something interesting and new?
Why are you in here if you haven't played the game anon? You sound bitter, maybe you should try it and see if you like it. I need the ship with better cargo because that's where you store materials in a way that the they are universally available in the workbenches, and that stash isn't infinite

That is only a tiny instance where your character model is replaced with the ship model. Can't walk in the shape ship while it travels. The ship doesn't have separate physics, it's not a proper vehicle. It doesn't travel anywhere relative to any major object. The movement of that ship is only an illusion relative to some small space rocks or junk nearby. You can't even land it or take off with it, which is always the litmus test for any flying ship. How do you even know it's flying if it never manually takes off? One of the hardest obstacles for flying in history was the challenge of getting the plane off the ground. This action never even takes place in Starfield. A cutscene is completely meaningless obstruction.

You are not playing anything. You are posting here, shilling for a multi-billion dollar company that continuously breaks their promises, and by shilling for them, you keep letting them get away with it. Trust me, if all Bethesda games were me, their lying would have stopped right after Oblivion. The company would now either have gone under or we would have some amazing RPGs to enjoy. You can't make a change in this industry by having no constructive criticism.
im mad that such barren ass planets with points of interest so far away that you cant fuckin use any sort of vehicle
makes me wish no man sky with things like this
Just jacked a UC ship and I can pilot it with its b-tier reactor even though my piloting says I can't pilots ships of that caliber? Am I missing something?
NMS is all about exploration and building fleets and if you want space exploration you should play it because you aint gettin that in starfield

>his spurs don't jingle jangle jingle >no riding to the town of Agua Fria >doesn't have a big iron on his hip >doesn't have heartaches by the number >his fella doesn't say "ain't that a kick in the head"
Akkila is for NVchads only. Revolvers, shotguns, and space cowboy getups.
You unlock basic skills that were locked behind perks and the game stops feeling like shit. Its like you start at -25% and 10 hours in you finally hit the starting point. Then later you remember how shit earlygame was and feel a sense of progression.
Stuff like the jet pack. Or sneaking.
You were playing without key features and you actually get them lategame.
This was exactly my complaint with fallout 4 and it carries over to this. Honest to god, the starting background shit should give you like 20 levels worth of skills to really jump start things.

i see what leddit means
the jet pack is a slight quality of life upgrade but i think you just start off with jack shit essentially and everythings fuckin rng loot
Is it worth waiting until I max out my Ship Building and Piloting skills to build a fancy ship from scratch?
Currently at level 25 and have piloting up to level 4, and ship engineering up to level 2. Tempted to just build something nice right now instead of waiting.
Build it now. Even if you had pilot and ship 4 you dont get access to all the parts since some are level locked. So youd only be able to buy shitty class c stuff thats only 1-2points above class a and b until you hit 60 or so.
By the time you hit high enough level to build your dreamship properly youll be rich as fuck or dead broke cause you newgamed+. Build somethimg usable so you dont suffer waiting for a good ship.
I love it but the numbers are so bloated around 40 and the hard reset on gear has me struggling on ng+ right now and I struggle to find the motivation to see the wacky shit from ng++ onwards.
>, for example the generation ship above paradiso you can choose for them to land there and become corpo slaves or give them a grav drive and allow them to find another planet
If it was a real rpg you could have convinced them to invade the resort or fuck off to the otheside of the planet. Or have you assainate the hotel guys to get ready for the invasion. Maybe a back and forth where they try to find a compremise between the offers. Nah its hotel give you 3 options, enslave, pay money so they fuck off, or kill everyone on the ship. But kill everyone at the hotel is completly off the table. Not even an option.
It just skips the shit you already did. However I think it would change who your emissary is. Besides that there is no reason to do the story again in ng+.
I'm playing on Very Hard. man to man combat has been fine because I can avoid damage and legendaries do a ton of the heavy lifting, but I'm getting progress gated by ship combat on a lot of small quests because I can't avoid damage or out-DPS, I just explode. What should I prioritize to make ship combat bearable as someone who doesn't think the ship combat feels very good and isn't going to invest a lot of time into the ship builder if they can help it?
I second this. I wonder if I'm fighting suboptimally by powering down engines to power up all my weapons, does speed help when you're outnumbered and outgunned?
speed makes them miss and keeps you alive. you should also be abandoning shields once they are down and diverting power into speed or guns once the shield get shot down. its not going to come back up in enough time to make a difference
Ship combat is weird. Sometimes I'll get my ass handed to me in a fight, reload a save and then dunk on that same fight without even losing my shield. And I have no idea what I'm doing right/wrong. But in my 40 hours so far all fights that were part of a major quest were very easy, the only challenging fighs so far are random encounters with high level ships. If you aren't required to beat them as part of a quest, just grav jump away.
Add turrets to your ship. A good shield (over 500 capacity). 21-24 power reactor. Hull between 700-800. Mobility about 80-100. Top speed over, anything between 90-100 is fine. Lvl 1 piloting for thrusters. You can literally add only turrets on your ship and just thrust and drift around. Ship will kill everything on its own. Get ballistic and particle weapons.
I'm in the same boat, the only way to survive is targeting mode
I usually merge head on so the AI is forced to turn and then try to get the most dangerous one's weapons down. The fleet composition in this game is brutal as hell: one ship might be all lasers, another all guns
Don't lose your shield
Anon mentioned the one on Titan, this is the one on Titan with stairs.
Note there is no hab module on top, so the door is missing, otherwise that's your second access there. Can't wait for a mod that makes all ship modules available everywhere so you no longer have to quick travel in-between each place to collect all parts.
There is no easy way to link all your outposts together is there? Ill have to manually land at each one and let the cargo loader thing just autofill my ship right?
Or maybe just have one super outpost where I feed all the resources to I guess?
Its free passive resources. Like, you can just rest and buy them too I guess, but you bring them in super fast with even the more basic extractors, greenhouses and etc.
Sounds like something ill do later on when establishing my spacegarden gnome empire. They should have given us space mining too. Loved asteroid mining in Elite.
Oh I know that anon. Its neat, but I wanted the full experience. Like dedicated mining ships, asteroid scanning, laser mining, depth charge mining etc. Elite is peak comfy just because it lets me be a space miner.

Also cockpit view is the tits.
It's such a good cockpit, I won't be replacing it anytime soon.
It's not a particularly good reactor compared to others available at the same level, but you finish rangers quest at way lower level than Todd anticipated, so you get it and it's way better than anything you can get for a long while.
It's a bit of a theme that beneath the rough exterior the Freestar Collective is actually better run and more innovative than the UC, not to mention handed their asses to them in the war
Skill issue. Get lvl 1 piloting to learn to use thrusters. Press space. Drift. Gz you now are the best pilot in the universe.
Yes, but you need to level the skills that make enemies lose targetting on you on boost, and the other skills that make you not shit. Otherwise just have an OP ship, which you can get a couple of from quests and can buy a ship stronger than you need for most of the game's content with a couple hours of farming random areas for guns to sell.
I don't want to waste skill points on a feature I don't like, I use my ship just to store cargo

Honestly insanely dull settings may be one of the worst offenders in this game for me. Why would you combine the most overused space opera tropes and the most unexciting parts of realism, call it retarded term "nasapunk" and use it as a defence.
There is BARELY any cool space shit in this game.
Where are the swarms of satellites, harnessing the power of stars?
Where are the binary star systems? They are the most common type of star systems in space.
Where are the black holes? Neutron stars, pulsars?
Where are the solar wind sales? You claim the game has to be """"realistic"""", yet insert generic warp drive #612814, because you are conditioned by space operas to cop out of consensuses of no FTL travel.
Where are the power stations, relaying power through entire star system via lasers?
Where are exoskeletons or giant industrial robots or cool vehicles?
Where is star lifting?
Where are power stations, working on energies of rotating black holes?
Where are fully automated industrial complexes, fully built and run by robots?
Why is the majority of "mining outposts" on planets and not on asteroids?
Where are gigantic rotating space stations?
Where are giant orbital shipyards?
Where are giant artificial habitats?
Where are nomadic fleets?
Why does gravity only affect how high you can jump? Why aren't generations of people who live on high/low gravity planets changing?
Where is the megafauna/flora?
People who are smarter than me can probably make a list several times the size of mine with exciting and exhilarating things that can be seen in "realisitc" space settings. Todd tried to sell it as a passion project he dreamt about for 20 years and I simply do not believe. It's one of the most generic, dry, featureless space settings I've seen in media.
Also I "only" played 30 hours of this game and with how it's streched out I won't be surprised if it has some of what I listed buried deep beneath hours of tiresome gameplay, so I'd appreciate if you direct me towards it.
Before release I had zero interest in it and thought the "NASA punk" setting looked awful and boring but since playing it I've done a complete 180. Shipyards, space stations, huge wildlife are all there but most of the other things listed aren't as far as I've encountered but for whatever reason it doesn't feel generic to me at all, it's weirdly immersive and I'm not sure why
I admit that there may be cool space stations I haven't found yet in the game, but >This is bethesda, they don't do big cities
is not a defence, it's just restating the problem. Bethesda could've used their hundreds of millions of dollars to substantially improve, instead of spending time and money on 100000 desert planets.
I think my rock bottom expectations going in has helped my enjoyment. And they have improved quite a bit, the scale of places like Neon is quite cool and immersive, they did industrial mega structure stuff pretty well. Never thought I'd be playing a bethesda game with seamless indoor/outdoor environments on this scale, albeit not everywhere
Some blogposting, if I may >Surveying a random spacerock >a lands nearby >it's an Ecliptic one >ignore the landing party, run straight into the ship >it takes off >get a loading screen, we're in orbit now >ship gets blasted as I reach the bridge
Welp, it was probably too much for my A-class license anyway >some time later >exploring another space rock >a ship lands nearby >it's an Ecliptic one again >Second time's a charm! >can't enter it, "inaccessible" >it takes off again >I am locked in the landing bay >clip thru the floor
That was scary.
And now I had two level 20+ Crimson Fleet ships on my tail. I tried engaging them and almost killed one but stupid fuck me decided that it's a good idea to disable it in targeting mode while the other one was free to annihilate my ass. But here is the thing, do enemies ever disengage? You can't fast travel, you can't do a grav jump. How much distance do I need to put between me and them to shake them off? Cuz 4000 isn't enough.
Guys help a stupid anon out. When I change ship weapons, what happens to the previous weapon I had on that same slot? Is it being auto-sold when I buy a new weapon? What the hell is "cost" vs "value" in the ship upgrade screen?

It's only held until you finish editing. Then you automatically sell it and can't add it anymore.
People with 40 series cards get the biggest performance boost with the DLSS 3.0 boost. Its not worth upgrading just for starfield tho.
I'm playing on 3090 at 2560x1440 rendering at full resolution and it seems just fine.

I mean, yeah, is gud, but I honestly doubt you are rendering full rest on ultra without any dlss and getting proper frames. Some places just tank the fps
Crazy how badly optimized this is. Why, why do they keep using fucking gamebryo bro? Why are there ui elements coded at 30 fps? Why cant people into coding anymore?
>just upgraded to a 3060TI last year because it's an affordably priced workhorse >Nahhh bro you need to get a 4080 to get a framerate that feels good to play a shooter on!
The PC tech race is such fucking cancer and at this rate it's genuinely going to help kill PC gaming for a ton of people. Nobody gives a shit how pretty your game is, make it run well on hardware normal people can get their hands on or fuck off
I'll play melee when Bethesda RPGs start implementing decent melee combat systems.
I really wish someone would make an RPG like this with just a really deep and fun combat system attached, like, just throw in mordhau combat or whatever
i dunno if scripted but i got arrested on mars. not sure if its because i dropped a stolen gun and picked it back up or what i just dont feel like loading and sellin all my shit again
what should i expect here?
where are the humanoid alien enemies?
where is the planet where humans are enslaved?
where is the planet thats ruled only by woman and as a male/woman character you get different outcomes?
i can come up with better overarching plots than >bandits but in space >military but in space >spacemagic
Worse shit is that the games features a nihilistic sect that likes snake as ouroboros shit but doesnt exist ingame besides random psycho cultist you kill in space or abandoned outpost so they re dlc bait
right? the snake shit why is that not a huge alien snake living underground and some people are praying to it?
i don't get how bethesda came up with the idea of space just being like it is in real life, vast and boring
The ouroboros shut feels right cause its tied to the ng+ shit and starborns problem its a fucking dlc bait like fallout4 institute was secondary faction that you dont enter you just kill frosty kellogs and done
the fucking scanner upgrades lock the ability to zoom in and out you need it or a sniper to actually look at stuff. despite the fact binoculars are a thing in game.
If still using an equinox they're a bit shit but you can get a btter semi-auto orion later. I found it best to use semi-auto weapons at first as they do more damage per shot so more ammo efficient.
Download the non bullet sponge mod unironically makes it feel so much better
>he didnt become a Citizen >he didnt become First Class citizen >he didnt get the penthouse atop Mercury Tower and his daily stipend of free shekels
Do freepoors even have paved roads? First time I checkef Akilla City it was just mud everywhere.
Remember how Fallout 4 had tiered versions of the same armor? Starfield has tiered guns
One thing that isn't tiered though is status effect damage. If you can make or use a gun that sets enemies on fire and you are patient, you can just burn/bleed things to death much higher level than you
I have a lascerating Orion I need to check to see if it still has stacking damage like it does in Fallout 4
There's some apartments in the cities that cost like 250k, they have their own fast travel point and you decorate them like an outpost. Having glass display cabinets that hold most items in the game gives me a reason to hoard all those neat unique misc items you come across.
Kind of wished they used him more tho. The UC Terrormorph questline was by far the best so far. We can all agree on this, yes? Visiting Londinium was cool.
honestly, I didn't really like the UC vanguard questline.
I did it last and I felt like it jumped into the whole Terrormorph plotline way, WAY too quickly, and the questline felt like it began at the halfway point and ended right before the finale.
For me it made sense. Vanguard rookie getting swept up in this shit. The spaceport attack was also unexpected and a pleasant surprise. I honestly didnt guess vae victis was behind it.
there are some basic upgrades you can do that needs no perks. 3 pts in laser seem a bit aggressive for a level 11 character, its mostly ballistic early game. I do a laser build as well but I did place 1 point in ballistic and pistol early game. I progressively switched to laser as the game went on
the mining gun and its easy to rack up those points if you go around blasting shitty monsters
i had a really good laser pistol but now i'm using some heavy laser gun with some ballistics still because they are so fuckin abundant
my guess is they wanted to keep the gore primarily a fallout only thing
Like elder scrolls doesn't really have dismemberment either, at most it has the rare decapitation or corpse in skyrim

no, the lead writer of the game (who is a chud) said they didn't want to offend cripples or people with PTSD, so they cut the gore.

Fallout is a pulp setting and gratuitous violence is a pulp trope, it's doesn't fit with the cleaner and more spiritual themes of Starfield. simple as.
don't pay attention to retard posters that claim it's because of chud writers or something gay. they're probably part of that cadre of weirdos that feel the need to draw a line in the sand between this game and BG3 while playing neither of them.
I think it's similar to the Blade Runner movie, you're never in your ship long like Blade Runner. You're always on the ground talking to people or collecting something with very little downtime like Blade Runner. I'm alone with no human companions collecting bounties with my robot & passing my baseline tests being sigma and saying little but being focused on the job. Starfield lets me be blade runner.
It was a replicant, you did what you had to. FUCK I can't wait until I can kill any NPC and roleplay blade runner even more. >"it's the blacks they're all replicants" >mfw picrel
The mines are pretty much useless with the booster pack. They were already kind of shit in fallout but now its just pointless. They need to make them explode much faster
that shits a grind too? what dragonbones do i farm and do i have to find more cave signs i mean stones?
god what a dogshit fuckin "tutorial" that was to sit through
boy god damn man i couldn't stomach skyrim and i quit fallout 4 halfway through. this aint a good sign
i somehow could deal with fallout 3 since i was babies first there. and i dont remember morrowind or oblivion
maybe bethesda games aren't for me due to how much shitty starts they have and the end
I just can't stomach how empty its the whole starfield premise did ot fir the rabdom shit of ng+ loops cause being a murderhobo feels worse with each new todd game hope the elder morons guards arent unkillable like teso guards

Its the oblivion persuation without the retarded wheelcheese ui and limited numbers of tries also no bribe cheat option
its great once you fully upgrade the skill to max.
I have been having loads of fun just using a shotgun+boost pack to erase entire groups of enemies from the sky
I just do not give one single fuck about what these twats think, these fucking "scientists". They don't solve shit with science, they solve their problems by throwing me at them, and guess how I in turn solve them?
If there's such a thing as a space God it's the almighty fucking GUN, end of story
All faction leaders are replicants. Your mission is to infiltrate these factions and retire the replicants. Anyone you can kill during a quest is a replicant. Always [Attack] option only in dialogue. Bounties from boards lead to replicants. Solo outpost only, only robot companions.
You have your mission blade runners.
to add on to this; ecliptics are now a faction of replicants since idk what their lore is anyway. Spacers will remain human, but replicant sympathisers.
to add on to this; ecliptics are now a faction of replicants since idk what their lore is anyway. Spacers will remain human, but replicant sympathisers.
To add on to this with some rules since the gear can get a bit ridiculous; you can only wear something blade runner would wear, use only stock items and upgrade them all yourself, no picking up modified assblaster 9000 from a dead body, primarily buy only vendor items if you can't craft it yourself, unless it's a stock variant with no modifications you can find on a body for example. What would blade runner use?
For more of a challenge on harder difficulties I'd try to limit healing in some way but I'm really stoned and just guessing some ideas to help you be blade runner too
Is there a variety in how big you can build your ships? Like is it possible to make a fuckhuge capital ship for example, or are they all roughly the same size?
>want to capture more ships
>keep killing them when going for engines in SVATS (Space VATS) because they have no hull rating once I get through their shields
Literally suffering from success. I wish I could put similar weapon types on different fire buttons so I could only use a few to take out subsystems instead of deleting them with full volleys.
Just swap to using EM weapons instead of ballistic.
Not a bad idea, gonna sub one of the lasers out.
I think engines and grav drive both need to be disabled.
idk how it works, i've had them have no engine but for some reason i wasn't allowed to dock?? So far I haven't been able to dock with anyone even after knocking out there engines, they just can't turn anymore
do i need some fucking BOARDING perk?
You need to knock out the engines and be within 500m
You need to exit targeting mode. Sometimes it gives you the option to board while targeting but it fucks up and doesnt show it at least half the time its just shit ui.
There are certain ships where boarding isnt possible like starborn.
Knocking out the grav drive makes it a 0g fight when you board.
>want to build my own ship
>too much of a brainlet to fgure out how
i just get overwhelmed by the amount of options and wich parts are needed, not to mention wich ones are good and wich ones are bad. just scrapped 500k together at lvl22 fucked around in build mode for 30 minutes failing to put the cockpit on top and said fuck it.
Any ships to look out for? The couple I tried to capture I couldn't really see the point.
Build your own ship. Default ships are trash.
The eagle one I got for the rangers seems fine for now. Im sure i can make a better one once I get a enough skill points to actually get good parts.
Rangers quest ship is a marvel of technology. You won't get a reactor stronger than 29 for a very long time.
A planet with tons of mobs that are not too strong and not too weak. Something like 50-75 XP per kill. You'll have to do it for a long time but nothing is faster than that except for cheating.
What? Seriously? Freeshitters get a 29 power reactor? What the actual fuck. Thanks UC...
You will. Its not even funny how op modded ships are compared to bought ones. Protip: use turrets.
Titan, not Titania, in Sol has an outpost that sells a two-story cockpit with stairs, which if you attach to large 2x2 / 2x3 habs might leave you with no ladders anywhere
Manufacturer?
Nova Galactic
Don't remember, but it's the biggest boy
It is technically smaller (and lighter) than the high-tier Deimos bridges. But that integrated staircase is such a life-changer.
And no, it does not immunize you to random ladders. Two habs connected to the Cabot can still have a ladder connecting them.
You resolved the ladder problem bro. Thank you.
The other way is to embrace the space snake
This one?
you can buy individual parts? wtf
I actually tried the 2 story cockpit, it actually made my ladder problem worse.
instead of like one ladder connecting the two floors, it instead has like 6 ladders because the game decided to not have the floors habs connect to the one next to it and instead the one above/below it
I just jetpack up the ladder holes, fucking climbing them, it's slow as hell
Saw this cockpit in one of the official previews and I knew I wanted it
That's fucking Legions of Power looking. Nice
Is there a website where you can plan out a ship build yet?
No need for it really, you don't have to commit to buying while using the shipbuilder, it will not charge you if you back out and cancel the modifications.
Unless you want to use one for parts you haven't unlocked yet.
Where the FUCK can I find "C" class ships to steal? I seen ships randomly land on planets but never see C class ships. I have the pilot skill for it but fuck buying one or building one.
I WANT TO STEAL
PLEASE REPLY
Build one you moron
NO
Try going to higher level systems anon, worked for me.
I saw one land and killed everybody on board and then when I got to the cockpit I couldn’t pilot it. Toppest of keks.
There is at least one in the very beginning that lands some ecliptics if you picked the Wanted perk that will not be claimable, but other than that every other ship you can board should be capturable. But you need higher ranks in piloting to get ships that are beyond A rank.
Ship boarding is a pretty good exp and money farm.
>can board, kill everyone inside, loot it all, captain's chest and cargo hold
>then get back, destroy the ship, get the exp for the crew and for the sip
>loot the debris if any is generated (usually it's just cargo hold stuff) and maybe get ship parts if they get spawned too
If a game like X3 had Starfield boarding action, especially if you could lead your own marines in power armor and the fights were larger in scale, I would play no other game.
Ecliptic has the Claymore at class C. Had one land right next to me while I was building an outpost, its a pretty good ship in its default state. Nice layout and all Terra Nova parts.
Galbank cruisers
Muh ship
greatest ship I've seen so far https://youtu.be/jGL0gk-qjRU
It just works
Stop posting you shitty channel you fucking attention whore.
What’s the fun in a game breaking ship?
>not building cool looking ships
>make some reddit tier meme ship
>Lolol look guys I cant die
Space combat is piss easy anyway
Can I steal that ship in the red tape quest after killing the guy and completing it?
I've considered many alternatives, but keep coming back to this shitbucket, just upgrading the guns/engine/etc.
Bottom floor is a "cross" with living quarters and the top a Y with workbenches. There's only one ladder (docking is downwards).
Its too round, anon. If you want the military aesthetic use Deimos parts.
plenty of historical hardware was rounded or blobby
I thing angular stuff fits the military aesthetic better. Makes sense from lore perspective too as Deimos are the UC Navy's sole supplier.
I'm not going for military aesthetic, I'm going for piece of shit.
>Take pickpockting
>Think I fucked up and took a useless skill
>Comes up a lot with Ryujin quest

>Steal tons of valuable contraband and epic weapons
Pick pocketing is great

gun
Why will Dennis not sell me this on Mars? i've done 2 of his quests and his inventory still sucks
The regular stock of guns that vendors sell is tied to your character's level, and the sniper rifles (Hard Target and Mag Sniper) start being sold around level 30 or so. Your best bet is to go to a high level system and farm elites until it drops.
what about... OTHER GUN?
?
*unzips katana*
Without combat skill
>Bashing perk
>on a gun that looks like this
Would've been cool of SF had durability mechanic and bashing someone with this gun would instantly break it.
No thanks after the retarded fallout 76 durability shit it would be worser
>mfw when I see bashing or space adept
O2 is retarded too
>Bashing perk
>On a sniper rifle
Useless
> Gun bashing
> No laser bayonet craft
Yep numbers are bloated specially high levels terrormorphs hp
What ships can I buy that have the biggest storage capacity?
I don’t wanna build now because it requires too many good perks I don’t have
Just get the mod that gives 500k storage space, fuck worrying about that.
wheres the cockpit
It's the black thing
That's a nice looking ship my dude.
You need perks into piloting at least so you can fly class C ships, otherwise you're kinda fucked for huge cargo. Buyable ships usually around 4k at the very most I think.
Can you do a barrel roll?
where do I get better reactors?
>watered down ass "chosen one" main questline, shit sucks and you strive to ignore it

all I see is reddit

I bought the game to shoot shit retard. Go back to your visual novels.
The amazing shooting of shartfield
>but anon the combat is fun

if you observe ai, it actually can't pathfind to the player properly in almost every situation, gets stuck and runs in random directions or just shoots into the walls
The combat AI is literally completely fixed by a 1kb size mod file. That's how fucked up this game is, that within a week of it being launched and without the creation kit people have already made it better than Bethesda.
which one
What is it fampapi?
>>the combat
>if you observe ai, it actually can't pathfind to the player properly in almost every situation, gets stuck and runs in random directions or just shoots into the walls
Waaaahhh the post
>stop having fun
In the world of gamers, there's a fanboy named Snoy,
PlayStation's his love, it's his ultimate joy.
But Starfield, he hates, 'cause it won't come his way,
On his platform of choice, it won't see the light of day.
He rants and he raves, in this gaming divide,
Wishing Bethesda's gem was on his side.
But in the end, let's remember the game's core,
It's the joy of playing that we should adore.
Truly indispensable game kek
what planets aren't procedurally generate?
I honestly read that as "why aren't shitposts procedurally generated"
if you want story and immersion, go "play" a movie, snoy
All these anon defending the game are brailents. Im 25 hours in and im having fun but almost every point you made is valid.
Im mostly doing main quest shit and holy shit i couldn't believe that the couple of side quests i played that the game gave me on my way to the main one had the exact same levels and enemies. One would think that being so close to the main quest (in the same planet), the side content would be at least different from one another but no.
>get sidequest to completely scan (100%) a random planet
>have to land on every single biome of said planet and scan every single alien and plant MULTIPLE times since once it's not enough
>find a bleeding out survivor who tasks me to take him back to his ship
>whatever ok I have to explore this shit planet anyways
>ship is 3km away takes 10 minutes of sprinting to get there
>thanks for your help here's 2000 credits buh bye!!
>land on next biome
>find ANOTHER bleeding out survivor who tasks me with the same shit the other asked me
woah... endless possibilities
>Try to make a big ship
>You're limited to like 40m max
And then you remember its not a space game so why bother
>ship

I enjoy photo mode. And like that one anon said in the earlier thread, them being in loading screens is nice, even when it's a mundane pic.
that looks like fucking garry's mod, jesus christ
Ive found lakes with actual water on planet Titan (-180 degree)
Pretty sure that's methane, anon.

OH GOD OH FUCK
What are you worried about? It's probably just a heatleech.
Am I the retard or is Todd, can you really not rotate the camera/flip your ship while building it?
Have you tried holding down right click and moving the mouse while the pointer isn't over the ship?
Did you know if you hold MMB while flying the ship you can freelook?
>STARFIELD ACTUAL FUCKING GAMEPLAY THREAD
INFINITELY replayable abandoned outposts. Todd wins again.

The boss is probably lv80
The quest "Refurbished Goods" seems to have issues. I would recommend all the pilots here to avoid it until next patch. In the meantime I would recommend to visit the satellite of Saturn, Titan
>gameplay thread
>no gameplay

>fitness skill is bugged
>only way to increase it is to exhaust all my co2 inside the ship by running against a wall because it doesn't count it on planets due to the bug
>finally manage to get it to 20/20 maxed out
>have to do it 50 times on step 3
Oh so that's why mine never went up
Not sure if that's intentional or a bug. I guess it would make sense you would increase your lung capacity by running until you start hurting yourself, but also it's very annoying to have to grind out running until your CO2 is depleted. I guess you could just overencumber the character and run to speed up the process.
It does count parents, I see it pop up all the time on planets, though I’m always over encumbered.
if it counts for you on planets then you don't have the bug because mine doesn't go up unless i am inside the ship
the enemy AI in space targets your ship center mass, so making a ship that is set off-center is what you want to do
I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds I hate cargo holds
Just get a class C ship and slap some of the holds that look like a hull part and hold over 1k each. >10k storage ez.
Those cargo holds have insane mass, they each reduce mobility by a ton
Get the mod that doubles cargo holds, balanced for how shit heavy everything is.
WHAT SYSTEMS ARE THE STARPORTS IN I ONLY FOUND DEIMOS AND THE NOVA GALACTIC ONE FROM THE MAIN QUEST IS STILL DESTROYED
Anyone else had enemies board your ship?
All I do is lift.
I fucking hate off-center cockpits.
That's the autism. Don't let anyone crack your egg.
One of my favorite things about this game is the ship designer, wish we could customize the look of other things like our space suits.
Creation kit for Starfield isn't coming out till sometime in 2024 thanks yet again Todd for the delay on that.
Is there a level/skill cap in the game? I started taking them early instead of combat ones because I was doing aight killing
Nope, you'll need to reach level 320 something before you rank 4 everything though.
>Player.addperk
Im not gonna do gay challenges to upgrade perks todd fuck you even cyberpunk got better challenge rewards
The "challenges" are literally just using the skill, ie "kill x people with a ballistic gun" to unlock next level ballistics...
Problem are not combat related are the social shit and ship
None of them are difficult to do, they all apply to what the skill is
I only have the first point in outpost building but storage is annoying me.
Ship building is awful because you cannot preview interiors and because you cannot save presets. I have nothing against the idea itself.
>cannot preview interiors
This is why I'm so peeved im on xbox (I know, I played myself) unless we can get all the good QoL mods too. I played every other Bethesda game on pc
You should get all mods that don't require stuff the script extender. But unfortunately that probably means no improved UI mods.
>script extender
Shame that thing breaks the DLSS mod which kind of makes it useless right now.
The one called StarUI thankfully works on gamepass. It might require SFSE eventually but for now it doesn't.
Wait what you can download mods already?!
Does VASCO care?
Whoa whoa whoa hold the fuck up guys i found this planet that has fucking grass on it and this weird construction
(You) need more windows for the cool views, gay OP
>heres the last screenshot of muh ship, SlamPig
it looks a bit different now, got better weapons too
I wish there was an actual preview of the interiors and that you could pick where ladders go (if at all)
Yeah this is the weakest part of the ship creator you can't customize where the interior ladders can go and you can't see them either.
I have found that port hole windows on the roof of a stacked room can stop ladders, also it seems to prioritize 1x1 crew passways for ladders
>try and make a spirit from halo
>the landing bay doesn't connect to the cockpit
>this won't go away regardless of configuration
It sucks.
>Take out any part I can
>Slap a cargo part on there
>Too much mass
>Fly anyway
I literally just spent 5 hours this afternoon building a brand new ship from scratch and expanding my first outpost.
Seems the ship building hangar you build at your outpost has a better selection of modules than New Atlantis which I'm a bit bummed out about because I like my new ship but now I'm going to end up making another one in a little bit.
Seems like the big black dock you can build at your outpost has everything but the xl cockpits.
>big black dock
Why are all starfield fans like this?
It's also missing 2x2/2x3/3x3 habs
The outpost selection is determined by the planet. You dont get all but you get more options than the oh we only sell deimos here of atlanta
The outpost stuff is really disappointing, wish I didn't need airlocks on breathable planets
The game is pure kino
Can you paint armors in this game? Luv me red pirate gear but its not gud anymore
Don't think so... but I was rocking the legendary set you get from the UC Vanguard questline which is a camo green with red stripes.
Vasco gives no fucks about organic lifeforms.
He bundles up into a cube when idle and might clip into some furniture depending on your Habs and where he chooses to cube.
I think you can change the skin, but not color.
I hate lootshit so much it's unreal
>get starshard with Berzerker trait
>yo ho fucking ho
gonna be a shame when I have to replace that gun but it's fun while it lasts
Where the fuck is vasco on the ship? I hear him but don't see him.
I think he genuinely despawns or is stuck in the landing bay because I don't see him in my ship either. I think the game had trouble placing him based on what Habs you are using. I've also seen him on the exterior of my ship when using the docking cradle for ships/stations.
If he's anything like mine he's clipped through the ship and is hanging out on the outer hull.
for me its clipping through the floor on the second level
vasco literally says he's in an external compartment for bots. he's not inside the ship which is why he doesn't increase the crew count.
How they manage to do the most boring companion robot of the game being the main one KEK besides most of all robots of the game are vasco morons
If you customize the Razorleaf do raiders still recognize it's the Razorleaf and try to flee?
Patch when
Hdr when
got HDR on xbox suck my dick
where is all the swastika ships anons were talking about making ?
Why are people crying about the main storyline? Its not the story of the century but its pretty fun, much better than fallout 4 but thats not hard to accomplish
The gameplay is ok. In between the 50 cutscenes.
How do you add more cargo space to the frontier? I can't even figure out how to attach shit to my ship.
Hover over a part of the ship that is an attachment point and when you press G it will show all valid pieces you can attach to that point.
luv me the sidestar, kodama, and shotty.
Sidestar for a solid basic shooter, shotty for sci fi and hectic rushes, kodama as an all-rounder
best 3 weapons for you all?
Breach shotgun modded for slugs and max range is a lot of fun, only downside is 6rnd mag.
Orion, whatever the laser pistol is I can't remember and the grenade launcher.
Once you find the super shotgun you’ll never look back, I think it’s called “the big bang”
For me it's the minigun.
Kodama
Boom Boom
Old Earth Assault Rifle
i also luv me 2311
>it's a "Enemy has an automatic Beowulf" episode
>mfw
Yeah, fuck you too. Good thing I have like a thousand Heart+.
Suppressed Sidestar for general use.
Regulator for Big Iron needs (until I fing Bigger Iron).
And old earth shotgun for hunting wildlife.
>automatic Beowulf
definitely one of the more busted rifles in the game, second time I found a legendary one in my playthroughs and I made it burst because automatic just shreds through absolutely everything
Bro your veteran levendary gear?
Shotty's nice. Lawman's good until you get a proper Hard Target, and the Advanced MagShot. You know which one I'm talking about.
Modified razorback, VSS, Katana
SOUL
i'd love to try out the gameplay but the game crashes some time before the first fight
no other new game has these issues and all run flawlessly at max, the game is an unoptimized crap heap
thief gameplay
>Girlboss build
What difference does it make since it's not really a vehicle that you control? You don't ever feel the physics of it and how it handles as a big machine. There is no space flight in this shitty game.
How long will you be seething?
Why are you replying if you not engaging in the topic?
Name one game where the movement speed, turning speed and the feel of the movement stays exactly the same while your character is on foot versus when you enter a vehicle. Do you think developers in most open world games with vehicles in them neglect such a basic thing? Do you just sit in your parent's room or have you ever handled a big machine? They all handle differently. People like to handle big machines. If you play Arma III the vehicles feel different. GTA V has different physics for everything. What is it that you don't understand about this? Bethesda is so incompetent they "give" you a vehicle you can't even control. How lame and low quality, just like the whole game.
>You don't ever feel the physics of it and how it handles as a big machine.
What does this even mean? No space game really gives you that feeling, even shart shitizen, I've flown Hammerheads which are fucking huge and never did the feel match up to the size of the thing.
>put like 60k into a custom ship
>see what its sell value is
>16k
Lmao fuck this game, but it's also like 130k for a pre-built class B ship. I'm gonna just steal more ships from pirates and mercs.
Yeah I’m gonna say it. I’m loving this game and I haven’t even done the story yet.
There isn't anything to do. Not one player has said the story is anything noteworthy. You phrase your post as if it's a game with endless rich possibilities, but it couldn't be further from the truth.
Is this
also you?
That appears to be a diversion to a meta-discussion rather than willingness to talk directly?
you haven't played the game and just said "nuh uh!" so what's there to talk about
You can't run with this excuse forever.
You’ve been picketing since Oblivion in every Bethesda’s game thread? Seriously get a life dude, it’s been 20 years.
Do you think Bethesda could ever create a game that you wouldn't buy, for as long it's a copypaste of Oblivion/Fallout etc.?
well you better do some of it so you can start collecting dragon shouts
Getting the detect life power has made stealth dungeon crawling actually viable
there's also one that makes you invisible
and each ng+ you can level them up finding temples again
Did the man followed you to a planet?
i recruited him. he meets you on the first planet
>Ship name : Maxximum Penetrator
Dick ship with 100 engines. Just penetrate shit at maxx speeds
Man this meme npc really has anime energy enough to fly to planets and i platonically love it
wtf i picked adoring fan but never met him.
The ship you design with StroudEklund looks really sleek imo and has good stats, I was going to try my hand at making a Normandy replica but I like this enough to roll with it for now
I got the overdesigned monstrosity C-class Kepler R from this and I rather like it. Over 3000 cargo cap and the interior is immense.
Is that if you go with the high cost artist's idea? What's it look like? Was tempted to go that route but didn't want anything too huge
It's a hot mess
kek
I was picturing a homer simpson designed piece of shit like this and Bethesda delivered.
i made a dude, im in NG+ just doing the pirate quest before building a custom ship again to go to NG++, see if it plays out differently if i dont skip constellation quests since you can basically collect all the artifacts in an hour or 2 if you do
>mfw I rob the uc surplus shopowner blind of all his ammo weapons and suits then go sell it to the trade authority
>come away with a military suit and a mini gun and enough credits to get me crew
Its just that easy
>bounty hunter ship lands and tries to kill me
>take over the ship
>pilot seat
>you are not authorized to pilot this ship
>have max level pilot skill
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Yep you can only steal ships in space KEK or the INNACESSIBLE door
I have taken ships on the ground, I think any ship that lands in a random zone except bounty hunters. Even had a UC ship land and I could jutst take it without killing anyone or getting any bounty
Bounty Hunters from Wanted perk?
So what mod is this that the TCM guy went fucktard over today?
Ironic since he shilled how much sexier their girls were going to be in TCM back in October
What does the GRV stat on ships do, anyways?
how fast your grav drive kicks in, only matters if you're trying to jump out of combat
It's a really half-baked Factorio that at the moment is only realy useful for XP farming
lmao all you fags can do is show off your gay little leggo ships, because everything else in this game is a steaming pile of shit
>nevermind actually using them
>I-I'm having fun I swear that why I need a confirmation bias thread
jeez lighten up a little
Do you have anything to show off in the games you like anon?
i haven't designed any ships or guns yet, but i made this character.
I built a landing pad yesterday and quit the game. Loaded today, and my ship has teleported inside it.
I have a bug at the end of the quest the best there is where I am supposed to talk to the chink bitch but she is not in the bar. What do I do?
its the best bethesda game to date no doubt
so much to do
exploration is so good every hour something new yes
so much dialogue
ship flying is perfect
performance is really good yes!
I rescued 5 geologists on a moon and now they are in my ship untill I land in HopeTown, they fucking teleport with me thru doors and when boarding other ships, It makes me fucking laff manically, they also KINDA help during boarding but they are killable so I have to be careful, pic related touring them in UC Vigilance
they look so happy to be there
Wouldnt you? Imagine traveling the star with the only literal super god of the galaxy (excluding the other supergods, those are hostile). I would be a machine full of smiles
Anyone had an issue where a moon clips through a planet and so you can't land on it? I had to cancel a radiant tourist quest because of it
How do I not go insane with rage?
>level 25
>just did a few quests and went exploring
>all points into scanning, geology, zoology, botany etc
>play factorio and like automation
>make 8 awesome outposts, each has like 4-6 unique resources
>cant actually use them because helium requirements
cargo links dont split, they dont load balance, you cant filter except on type, there isn't enough space to avoid overflow. it's just asinine, I doubt any of the devs even bothered to make a real outpost.
Sarah flipped out 100+ times on my evil playthrough and still stuck with me
its just a scam
cant you just build one fuel outpost with bunch of helium extractors then ship helium to all other outposts?
No, that's what I tried to do but you need both ends of the link to have a interstellar cargo pad fueled with He3 for it to work. What you can do is have multiple outposts in one system ship to a central outpost with an interstellar link that then ships out to your outpost in another system but it just creates a new problem which is the massive bottleneck you'll have to be constantly unclogging so your production doesn't shit itself.
well
there are always mods
they're releasing creation kit next year
OP Image reminds me that the gay franchise of Star Wars, exists, you gays really can't do anything right, jesus fucking christ
wooooow is that HECKIN star wars? I will definitely purchase Starfield today
i only looked up to do the mantis quest asap because it says level 30 but apparently theres not level 30s on that planet
and this starting ship sucks.
i wasted so much fuckin time doing these activity things for people on like the worst fuckin city.
Is there some reason why you are pathologically averse to answering any of the matters discussed in my posts. Btw., If I'm "in here", then that means you are always in here. You don't have any more privileged position to post.
stop posting
You think like a leftist. Shut them out if you don't like what they say. Figures you would like Bethesda's new diverse game then.
What kind of mental illness is this? Is it contagious?
Mental illnesses are completely artificial and manmade. Ask any Buddhist. Now are you going to talk about the topics in my post or not? Why keep replying if not?
The topic is now your mental state, I have concerns
Turns out you are not god, so it matters not what you or any man thinks about it. It's not reality, it's an illusion.
There, ended that side tracked topic. Now about the space ships. What is it about upgrading them than interests people if one can't fly them in the first place?
You can fly them anon, and you can battle with them, you seem to have no information about the game whatsoever
I mean this from my heart anon, seek help before it's too late
It doesn't matter what you think about that. You don't decide any of that.
yeah man
chud go buy a new dilator, make sure you get a third party one don't support aaa dilators
That isn't relevant to me. I doubt even you care about that. So why bring that up? Either you answer the previous post or you have nothing to say. Shouldn't it be that simple?
Sorry didn't read too busy having fun playing a video game instead of seething and losing my shit over games I don't even play on Ganker threads
You can't make a change in this industry by having no constructive criticism.
anyone else take the asymmetry pill?
No, but that's a pretty cool ship anon
Are you people unironically having fun playing this at 40ish fps?
Im asking because i couldnt bare to play this with a 3080 at 50-60ish it feels sluggish af
frame gen mod gets me 120 fps at 1440p. god bless fake frames.
Feelsbad 40 series morons get dlss3
>frame gen
>needs literally fake frames

stealings bad. sarah didn't like that
glitch through the map run to the vendors chests loot them fly to venus stay 24h repeat end up with millions and good loot
>using the same game engine for 17 years
outposts and ships are why I bought this game. I don't give a shit about the story
>bought the game for outposts
damn you must be disappointed
>100$ for a shitty space arcade game and fallout 4s outpost building minigame
Come on
Why not just play Space Engineers? Outposts and ship building is all that game is.
holy shit why are you so mad
Fuck you Todd, I want wings on my ship, I don't care if they have no use in space.
I am eagerly waiting for an actual x-wing mod with sounds and everything
sneedfield
starslop
FIX THE SHITTY PERFORMANCE
what the fuck is going on? my head disappears and I get stuck in this pose whenever I unholster my weapon
im mad that such barren ass planets with points of interest so far away that you cant fuckin use any sort of vehicle
makes me wish no man sky with things like this
Just jacked a UC ship and I can pilot it with its b-tier reactor even though my piloting says I can't pilots ships of that caliber? Am I missing something?
NMS has more content
BG3 has more depth
Outer Worlds feels more coherent
NMS is all about exploration and building fleets and if you want space exploration you should play it because you aint gettin that in starfield
BG3 is a completely different style of game and decried as part of the woke agenda with all the talking points of el goblina until you gays flip flopped and suddenly love it now
outer worlds is for gays lol
starfield is literally just fallout 4 with space paint and dragon shouts
>suddenly
bg3 is a 50-70h game yes the 3rd act falls flatter than the rest but before that you have dozens of gameplay
starfield gets boring around the 5th hour where you slowly start to peek behind the curtain of nothingness
can someone explain to me how the game "clicks" for them after 10-20 hours? they literally wont explain
For me it was in akila city, best city in a Bethesda game by a mile
im tryin to get there. gettin sick of these "cities" like mars where shit is just vaults again, and new atlantic is just too fuckin large
>he didnt become a Citizen
>he didnt become First Class citizen
>he didnt get the penthouse atop Mercury Tower and his daily stipend of free shekels
Do freepoors even have paved roads? First time I checkef Akilla City it was just mud everywhere.
>his spurs don't jingle jangle jingle
>no riding to the town of Agua Fria
>doesn't have a big iron on his hip
>doesn't have heartaches by the number
>his fella doesn't say "ain't that a kick in the head"
Akkila is for NVchads only. Revolvers, shotguns, and space cowboy getups.
Dem city slickers
Build somethimg usable so you dont suffer waiting for a good ship.
post them big
From the preview I thought you made tardis
Its a shame the game starts you out in fps lag city aka new atlantis
I'm bored already
load this load that load into this load out of that
do mission for 3 minutes, 30 minutes loading
I've had enough.
At least I enjoyed Cyberpunk and I'm going to say Cyberpunk shits all over this.
it does
if starfield hat better performance and more fiction like different humanoi alien enemies and stuff it would be more interesting
but it doesnt
I'm getting better with the inferno mine.
Do I have to regrind money to upgrade ships again if I go to NG+?
yes btw
any mod to not render the exterior when inside your landed ship?
t. pained 1080ti
Not yet
I’m probably two days worth into the game and I haven’t got one companion or done the main quest
Is this what Todd meant by long gameplay?
I love it but the numbers are so bloated around 40 and the hard reset on gear has me struggling on ng+ right now and I struggle to find the motivation to see the wacky shit from ng++ onwards.
Captain Drake lives on in my space pirate playthrough
i upgraded the guns and swapped some others out and they were still yelling and fleeing. didn't change anything but the weapons though
trust no one not even yourself
>, for example the generation ship above paradiso you can choose for them to land there and become corpo slaves or give them a grav drive and allow them to find another planet
Starfield is very realistic in the fact that rich people never suffer for their actions. Unless you're ron hope.
when you go NG+ are you supposed to skip the story?
It just skips the shit you already did. However I think it would change who your emissary is. Besides that there is no reason to do the story again in ng+.
If you want to keep going to more NG+ then skip it and you can get to next one quicker
I'm playing on Very Hard. man to man combat has been fine because I can avoid damage and legendaries do a ton of the heavy lifting, but I'm getting progress gated by ship combat on a lot of small quests because I can't avoid damage or out-DPS, I just explode. What should I prioritize to make ship combat bearable as someone who doesn't think the ship combat feels very good and isn't going to invest a lot of time into the ship builder if they can help it?
quad beam(par) weapons maybe on all 3 weapon sets if you have enough power. melt stuff 3km out before they can even hit you
I second this. I wonder if I'm fighting suboptimally by powering down engines to power up all my weapons, does speed help when you're outnumbered and outgunned?
Yes speed helps a lot in space.
speed makes them miss and keeps you alive. you should also be abandoning shields once they are down and diverting power into speed or guns once the shield get shot down. its not going to come back up in enough time to make a difference
Depends on the fight and shield repair speed, otherwise yeah
Just make a donut ship
Juno's Gambit is an incredibly stupid and railroaded quest, especially if you finished the Ryujin questline beforehand
the fuck is caelumite used for?
rate my ship
i cant wait to see how tes6 turns out
Looks like a villain's ship, so cool. Also nice front facing landing bay, so sick of running around to the back to enter/exit mine
Pic related, my ship after spending an hour customizing it, and then the game crashed.
The tall one is the Overseer. You are posting the Ares.
Also cockpit view is the tits.
Nvm anon, im retarded. Thats not the Ares. Ares is from Deimos, and its the Battleship cockpit with the included command bridge.
I think I saw one yesterday on the Nexus. The mod, I mean.
There is no easy way to link all your outposts together is there? Ill have to manually land at each one and let the cargo loader thing just autofill my ship right?
Or maybe just have one super outpost where I feed all the resources to I guess?
Are outposts useful? Didnt even bother looking at the build mode.
There is, but its literally just shooting asteroids and getting either jack shit or huge piles of rare materials with no indicator which way.
Oh I know that anon. Its neat, but I wanted the full experience. Like dedicated mining ships, asteroid scanning, laser mining, depth charge mining etc. Elite is peak comfy just because it lets me be a space miner.
It's such a good cockpit, I won't be replacing it anytime soon.
Any good way to get levels reasonably fast? I feel like I need to be level 60 to actually have most of the shit I want.
I don't get space combat. Am I supposed to be able to avoid enemy fire?
My ship can't even turn to face them.
Get your mobility higher and you'll be able to turn fast enough. Missiles can be avoided by boosting, normal attacks - no.
And it's an A too.
Shieeet. Akila town is literally mud roads, but they somehow got better tech than the UC?
It's not a particularly good reactor compared to others available at the same level, but you finish rangers quest at way lower level than Todd anticipated, so you get it and it's way better than anything you can get for a long while.
Yeah its kind of goofy how easy it is to finish that questline for how strong the rewards are.
I know. Im rank 4 pilot and 3 ship engineering, and the best I could find was 31 power.
It's a bit of a theme that beneath the rough exterior the Freestar Collective is actually better run and more innovative than the UC, not to mention handed their asses to them in the war
I don't want to waste skill points on a feature I don't like, I use my ship just to store cargo
You don't really have to spend skill points on it, mobility is improved by placing more and better engines on your ship.
I mean you were saying that you dont get space combat, so I just gave you a tip. If you dont wanna fight, then dont. Just grav jump away.
Do I need to buy a different ship do get better stuff or can I just modify the Frontier?
Why are you even asking this? Go ahead and try it yourself. Yes. You can modify your ship. Whoa!
U can modify the frontier forever. Just delete all parts and start on a clean slate.
You can steal better ships a couple of ways
Yes, but you need to level the skills that make enemies lose targetting on you on boost, and the other skills that make you not shit. Otherwise just have an OP ship, which you can get a couple of from quests and can buy a ship stronger than you need for most of the game's content with a couple hours of farming random areas for guns to sell.
Skill issue. Get lvl 1 piloting to learn to use thrusters. Press space. Drift. Gz you now are the best pilot in the universe.
Shipyards, space stations, huge wildlife are all there but most of the other things listed aren't as far as I've encountered but for whatever reason it doesn't feel generic to me at all, it's weirdly immersive and I'm not sure why
>space stations
Name star system with space station the size of a city.
>huge wildlife
Name planet with huge wildlife.
The biggest dungeon I've found was an abandoned space station and it was at least the size of Akila. This is bethesda, they don't do big cities
I admit that there may be cool space stations I haven't found yet in the game, but
>This is bethesda, they don't do big cities
is not a defence, it's just restating the problem.
My wife sarah (not the mexican)
Some blogposting, if I may
>Surveying a random spacerock
>a lands nearby
>it's an Ecliptic one
>ignore the landing party, run straight into the ship
>it takes off
>get a loading screen, we're in orbit now
>ship gets blasted as I reach the bridge
Welp, it was probably too much for my A-class license anyway
>some time later
>exploring another space rock
>a ship lands nearby
>it's an Ecliptic one again
>Second time's a charm!
>can't enter it, "inaccessible"
>it takes off again
>I am locked in the landing bay
>clip thru the floor
That was scary.
And now I had two level 20+ Crimson Fleet ships on my tail. I tried engaging them and almost killed one but stupid fuck me decided that it's a good idea to disable it in targeting mode while the other one was free to annihilate my ass. But here is the thing, do enemies ever disengage? You can't fast travel, you can't do a grav jump. How much distance do I need to put between me and them to shake them off? Cuz 4000 isn't enough.
If you clear the crew you can enter the ship and literally fly off with it kek. Become the space moron
Just grav jump you moron. Dumping all power into grav jump and just leave.
I usually just swap between this and Big Bang
Any genuinely strong sniper rifle type weapons? Tried the hunting rifle and lawbringer and neither really one shot shit the way I would hope.
This I want. What level do I need to be to start seeing these drop?
Im kind of pissed at how mediocre some of the "on level" drops are right now. The rivet gun looked cool but was crap.
Just go to level 75 systems and explore spacer/ecliptic settlements until you find one.
They all suck until weapons mods 3 at the least
I'm using a legendary Hunting Rifle I found somewhere and it's pretty decent. Won't necessarily one shot all enemies, but usually 2-3 shots is enough
Guys help a stupid anon out. When I change ship weapons, what happens to the previous weapon I had on that same slot? Is it being auto-sold when I buy a new weapon? What the hell is "cost" vs "value" in the ship upgrade screen?
Held in ur imaginary storage. Once u buy a part u can always reuse it.
It's only held until you finish editing. Then you automatically sell it and can't add it anymore.
Orly? The more you know
What's causing my game to have a stroke every other minute? Shouldn't I be able to run this game very buttery?
>Shouldn't I be able to run this game very buttery?
lol no. you need better specs
Spec this dick, I'll upgrade when someone releases a better game. sad
>gtx 1660s
Uh...
I need to upgrade to an RTX don't I? Link me a new graphics card friendo
People with 40 series cards get the biggest performance boost with the DLSS 3.0 boost. Its not worth upgrading just for starfield tho.
This. The mod that lets you use dlss3 gives about 20-30 fps more depending on what 40 series you have.
I'm playing on 3090 at 2560x1440 rendering at full resolution and it seems just fine.
I mean, yeah, is gud, but I honestly doubt you are rendering full rest on ultra without any dlss and getting proper frames. Some places just tank the fps
Is there an ingame way to view FPS?
Not built-in. I use the steam overlay fps counter
you'd need a 4070
Crazy how badly optimized this is. Why, why do they keep using fucking gamebryo bro? Why are there ui elements coded at 30 fps? Why cant people into coding anymore?
>why are there UI elements coded at 30 fps
You must have missed the times people melted their GPUs with uncapped framerate on UIs and menus
>uncapped
No one asked for uncapped. Ship aiming ui is jarring. It hurts my eyes.
>just upgraded to a 3060TI last year because it's an affordably priced workhorse
>Nahhh bro you need to get a 4080 to get a framerate that feels good to play a shooter on!
The PC tech race is such fucking cancer and at this rate it's genuinely going to help kill PC gaming for a ton of people. Nobody gives a shit how pretty your game is, make it run well on hardware normal people can get their hands on or fuck off
the problem isn't the parts, it's the game devs. they leave their games highly unoptimized which makes the parts perform far worse than they should.
Ur card is fine. Its just this specific game. Dont worry, modders will fix it, cause todd sure as shit aint.
Fallout 4 ran like shit on release
A year later it runs better but only because of mods
Exactly. Bethesda games are hot shit on release, especially performance wise. Modders literally been carrying them since Oblivion.
I'm too poor for a $1000 card, luckily Newegg has a payment plan so I'll probably just try to get a RTX 3XXX series card.
you should get a new cpu too so the gpu isn't bottlenecked, but it's not as important.
Am I the only one who went melee?
I'll play melee when Bethesda RPGs start implementing decent melee combat systems.
I really wish someone would make an RPG like this with just a really deep and fun combat system attached, like, just throw in mordhau combat or whatever
Any habs out there with all the crafting benches on one place or am I doomed to workshop plus infirmary/science lab for the rest of the game
Two of workshops habs have a research station in addition to industrial/armor/weapon benches. One of them, IIRC, is Nova.
It's Stroud and Deimos, not Nova. 2x1 workshop.
There are some 3x3 and 3x2 habs on Deimos. Maybe they include more shit.
Another game where I’m spending a bunch of time in the photo mode
I like this game, but this is just silly.
Bed. Outside. When it's 456 degrees Celsius.
this is the same game with half eaten sandwiches and fresh fruit outside on planets with no atmosphere. they took off their helmet to take a bite.
I haven't seen that yet, but I expect it.
lel
don't be a little girl, it has a blanket
its SLOP
Bros... it's over
Dont do it bro.....
Huh. They don't guilt you with it.
Time for some colonist rape
rate my upgraded frontier yea im using cheat engine for 2 shield generators and 2 reactors, i can't stand having assymetrical design.
Anon, you've got to let it go...
I use this Bridge with Stroud parts as well, nice.
i dunno if scripted but i got arrested on mars. not sure if its because i dropped a stolen gun and picked it back up or what i just dont feel like loading and sellin all my shit again
what should i expect here?
where are the humanoid alien enemies?
where is the planet where humans are enslaved?
where is the planet thats ruled only by woman and as a male/woman character you get different outcomes?
i can come up with better overarching plots than
>bandits but in space
>military but in space
>spacemagic
okay go apply for a job
retard
i’m most certainly a retard compared to your genius, sir.
Bethdrone shut up and enjoy your slop
Worse shit is that the games features a nihilistic sect that likes snake as ouroboros shit but doesnt exist ingame besides random psycho cultist you kill in space or abandoned outpost so they re dlc bait
right? the snake shit why is that not a huge alien snake living underground and some people are praying to it?
i don't get how bethesda came up with the idea of space just being like it is in real life, vast and boring
The ouroboros shut feels right cause its tied to the ng+ shit and starborns problem its a fucking dlc bait like fallout4 institute was secondary faction that you dont enter you just kill frosty kellogs and done
>lockpicking is behind a skill
>using jetpacks is behind a skill
ffs
the scanner could honestly just not exist its cheaper to buy mats
the fucking scanner upgrades lock the ability to zoom in and out you need it or a sniper to actually look at stuff. despite the fact binoculars are a thing in game.
Im mad that in fucking 2023 shooter games deleted zoom scopes for the retarded inmersive hold breath
have almost 30% laser damage, on normal, and everything feels so fuckin bullet spongey still that im chewing through ammo and medpacs
Laser weapons are still cucked shit like fallout4 particle weapons are the best
If still using an equinox they're a bit shit but you can get a btter semi-auto orion later. I found it best to use semi-auto weapons at first as they do more damage per shot so more ammo efficient.
Download the non bullet sponge mod unironically makes it feel so much better
Nobody wants to live in lag city anon
I fairly comfortably melt very hard enemies with my Orion. Maybe your gun is outdated or you havent upgraded it at all
Remember how Fallout 4 had tiered versions of the same armor? Starfield has tiered guns
One thing that isn't tiered though is status effect damage. If you can make or use a gun that sets enemies on fire and you are patient, you can just burn/bleed things to death much higher level than you
I have a lascerating Orion I need to check to see if it still has stacking damage like it does in Fallout 4
>trying not to notice references
>get to Titan
>Surface habs are round with glass domes connected with walkways
>was called Astrobase before
Someone really enjoyed Planetbase
>Run into derelict mining vessel with creatures on it and a bunch of dead miners and a terminal note that they tear people apart from the inside
Ughhhh
bros where can i buy that AK47 clone and that M1911 clone?
be level 30-35 and gunstores start selling them. or go loot and kill the colony ship for their old world guns
Colony ship morons most are unkillable besides security KEK in chud vegas you could delete the boomers
Anybody figure out what causes 0 G while boarding? It's kino as hell
I think it happens if you took out their grav drive
What can you even do with your credits beside buying ships? I've 300 000 credits
There's some apartments in the cities that cost like 250k, they have their own fast travel point and you decorate them like an outpost. Having glass display cabinets that hold most items in the game gives me a reason to hoard all those neat unique misc items you come across.
Vae Victis did nothing wrong. Death to the anarchists. Freespace was behind Londinium!!! MAKE UC GREAT AGAIN!!!!
sanest uc citizen
I dont like him too machiavelic and snowflake oc moron like the blade of frontier of bald gay 3
Kind of wished they used him more tho. The UC Terrormorph questline was by far the best so far. We can all agree on this, yes? Visiting Londinium was cool.
Its one if the two most developed sidequests of the game i liked the anti alien gear with annop gstling reward and the pokemon giraffe alien shit
It was pretty neat. I liked the Crimson Fleet questline as well though, its nice to get some choice for once.
I had fun cause I was imagining we are looking for the one piece. Was Kryx Starfield's Gol D Roger?
Realistically but i think one piece of shit gonna be a retarded jrpg demigod final boss monster
honestly, I didn't really like the UC vanguard questline.
Pls use spoiler function sirs pls 🙁
Im sorry sir. I expected everyone finished it by now YOU BLOODY BITCH BASTERD sir. Have a nice day sir
i never realized how much just flying to shit on your own is so much more immersive until this game. see that planet? better load screen there
never realized how much i missed vats for console versions
>outdated
>haven't upgraded it
dont i need some sort of gay perk to start upgrading with mods?
i'm only level 11 and rng drops are not forgiving
there are some basic upgrades you can do that needs no perks.
SOMEONE FUCKING MOD VATS IN FFS
this please. i miss seeing funny kills in slow motion that isn't myself
also i miss the fallout gore system
there is none in this game
Imagine dismemberment in a ship in zero-g. Grenade through a dhatch and limbs and heads flying everywhere
why doesn't starfield have dismemberment when other bethesda games had it?
Because they sacrified that feature to get more morons in new atlantis
PG13 rating or something
Radiant AI is also gimped in starfield
It's mostly trannies and fags working at bethesda now. They're the reason gore, sex and swearing are not in the game.
my guess is they wanted to keep the gore primarily a fallout only thing
Like elder scrolls doesn't really have dismemberment either, at most it has the rare decapitation or corpse in skyrim
no, the lead writer of the game (who is a chud) said they didn't want to offend cripples or people with PTSD, so they cut the gore.
They should learn of fromsoft and empowerthem with boosted wheelchairs and shotguns
Im mad fallout 3 in a dlc made better inmersive remove helmet at presuriced zones
I can live without VATS but the lack of a kill cam/sniper cam sucks.
Starfield lets me be blade runner.
can't wait until there's a blade runner gf mod and blade runner car mod and blade runner car drone companion mod. FUCK I can't wait
Ryaaaaan NOOOOOOOOO
It was a replicant, you did what you had to. FUCK I can't wait until I can kill any NPC and roleplay blade runner even more.
>"it's the blacks they're all replicants"
>mfw picrel
I love this game so much because I'm fucking blade runner bros holy shit GO AND BE BLADE RUNNER
>mfw I fail the baseline
hmmmm i love goyslop
Can't wait until there's a mod that lets me suck on Barrett's BBC.
The mines are pretty much useless with the booster pack. They were already kind of shit in fallout but now its just pointless. They need to make them explode much faster
Its strange there are no enemy mines boobtraps like fallout4
damn i really shoulda rushed the story for the dragonshouts
>20 differetn skills
>still just blasting bros with gravity wave
Not worth its a fucking annoying grind just use psb command
that shits a grind too? what dragonbones do i farm and do i have to find more cave signs i mean stones?
god what a dogshit fuckin "tutorial" that was to sit through
The only "dragonbone" rarity its the quark tissue from terrormorphs
boy god damn man i couldn't stomach skyrim and i quit fallout 4 halfway through. this aint a good sign
i somehow could deal with fallout 3 since i was babies first there. and i dont remember morrowind or oblivion
maybe bethesda games aren't for me due to how much shitty starts they have and the end
I just can't stomach how empty its the whole starfield premise did ot fir the rabdom shit of ng+ loops cause being a murderhobo feels worse with each new todd game hope the elder morons guards arent unkillable like teso guards
i think also just the feeling of choices really dont matter. this new persuasion system is so fuckin stupid
Its the oblivion persuation without the retarded wheelcheese ui and limited numbers of tries also no bribe cheat option
>unlock booster pack
>need a skill point to even use it
>it just jolts you a couple feet into the air
>lasts like a second max
wow great...
Lifesaving in low gravity
its great once you fully upgrade the skill to max.
I have been having loads of fun just using a shotgun+boost pack to erase entire groups of enemies from the sky
Bind a key to Jump alt key binding and when you use that the pack boosts you forwards
Crab is the ultimate form of ship
Donut>>>
Donut is a crab when you think about it
next fallout youre gonna be the atomborn or some bullshit
where the fuck do you get skins for your weapons?
Cash shop
>this part of the game where all of Constellation bitches at me for siding with the Crimson Fleet
lmao, seethe more retards.
Funny cause the morons of constellation are expirates and barret its still friendly to them
I just do not give one single fuck about what these twats think, these fucking "scientists". They don't solve shit with science, they solve their problems by throwing me at them, and guess how I in turn solve them?
If there's such a thing as a space God it's the almighty fucking GUN, end of story
Yo know whats most cucked? you cant kill them even in ng+ only your daftpunk psycho version can kill them
All faction leaders are replicants.
They all have sunthetic voice even outside of ships makes sense
