Guys, is it because I'm too stupid to realize this, or is the watch really not useful in the game?
It can be used as a compass, and it can show how much oxygen is left, but it can't tell the time.
>Why would a watch exist that can't tell time?

>Why would a watch exist that can't tell time?
boy lemme tell you about smartwatches
>compass nobody uses because it doesnt mean shit
>picture of a planet that means fuck all
>oxygen bar is just a glorified stamina bar
this game UI is so bad its unbelievable
Look at the planet, it shows you the time visually because they all have different hours in a day and different amounts of day/night time in the cycle. Think of it like a moon changing phases.
It does tell the time, but since hours can be fuck knows length on various planets, it represents time via the shading of the planet.
>it represents time via the shading of the planet.
What? So this is how the time is displayed?
That's too abstract. Why can't it be a normal 24-hour timer?
Because days aren't 24 hours long on other planets dummy.
The game already makes a difference between local time and universal time when you open the wait menu.
>universal time
Gay Newtonian bullshit. When is a game going to incorporate general relativity into the design?
Press Tab/Go into your menu
Look in top left
Go back to skyrim, kid
the watch is your hud dummy
You can use the hud before you receive the watch, neverthougheverbeitheless.
What I'm wondering is why there's no meter for how long till your suit is compromised and there's only sound effects
as everything broken and incomplete in this game, use a mod

>but it can't tell the time.
isn't this what light/dark side of the planet on the ui is for to account for non 24h time cycles (if bethshit even simulates this that is)
Go into your scan mode and you get some good info including the gravity and temperature
member personal GPS units
member dive computers
Why aren't there ANY phones in the game? How the fuck does Bethesda make a future universe where nobody uses the internet and nobody uses cellphones? It's not like cellphones have been replaced by any fancy nu tech... they're just not there
>b-but speed of light
Grave drives and infinite fuel are already non realistic. You can hand wave away this with quantum grav drive sattelites or whatever
>phones
I'm guessing it's just because Bethesda didn't want to go into how to talk remotely and get things done.
So they just did away with cell phones good remote communication tech.
Forcing players to have to talk to NPCs face to face to complete quests.
Drastically increasing the amount of pointless black screen loading garbage time.
>The game has radio talk tech for spaceships, but humans don't have walkie-talkies. You only have wired intercoms mounted on the walls.
Same thing with needing to access an individual terminal to take bounties. Why?
A lot of this can be explained by Bethesda's stupidity and laziness.
They have no motivation whatsoever.
GTA and Watch Dogs have smartphones and it works just fine. Todd is a hack.
>Watch Dogs
>Fine
Oh shit bro, you glowin
I know if this game had a phone, everyone would be shitting on the phone
I fucking hated the phones in those games
Cyberpunk's phone was great. Instead of having to go talk to people in person for quests they just video called you on your phone.
Worked great to complete quests (when you didn't have to go and turn it in at a kiosk or whatever) but fuck, the first few hours of that game, all these random dickheads constantly calling you was annoying
begone, shill
>but humans don't have walkie-talkies
The best part is the UC security outfit has a walkie talkie attached to its chest. makes no sense.
>The best part is the UC security outfit has a walkie talkie attached to its chest
Ha, so in the setting, humans do have telephony.
It's just that the telephony feature was removed because Bethesda was lazy.
