It's just that opening chapter that's like that.
Outside of a few chase sequences that usually lead into a boss fight, you can generally fight back against any other enemy.

Unironically becomes better on the second playthrough once you know all the bullshit the game throws at you.

Yeah but the intro is REALLY pisisng me off. RE4 and Ghostwire were super cool and right now I'm just playing a cripple who keeps dying.
      >other posts saying it still kinda sucks but gets better
Appreciate it, bros. Recently beat Ghostwire and loved it so decided to turn back time and try TEW since I heard it was amazing. Also really liked RE4 as mentioned. I'll press on with this. But it's easily the worst first impression I've had of a well renowned game.

Chapter 3's gonna be your make or break moment, unless your complaint is that it lacks rooty tooty in which case that's chapter 6.

I don't know where you heard TEW is amazing besides

Each chapter plays differently. The first few chapters are stealth and then there is a bunch of action. Overall it's like RE4 but better in every way.

this chimp, but sounds like you were lied to.
Not that the game's bad, but it's a fricking mess. It's a mixed bag beginning to end, but the prologue probably is the worst part of the game because of how slow, on rails, and uninteresting it is, especially on a replay.

Some advice if you continue playing the game though, max out the handgun's accuracy as soon as possible. The problem isn't so much the crosshair swaying as it is the crosshair outright lying, resulting in missed shots despite being dead center on an enemy's head or what have you. And even with maxed out accuracy it can still happen, but it happens way less.

    >survival horror games influenced by horror cinema are cinematic
very shocking finding op, must have taken a lot of research

One, on Nightmare as the entire first playthrough is basically a tutorial. Second, get used to the instakills, there's a lot of them. Third, the actual action mechanics are nowhere near as polished as RE4's when you get around to actually using them. That all said, the crossbow is a GOAT weapon.

Mechanically, maybe. But it goes way too far to remove the mystique of things, it beats you over the head with details that the first game left unexplained to better effect.

Nope, becomes way too westernized. Soulless open world collectathon garbage

Nah the second was utter kino when you had to fight your wife

Ripping off Inception, Silent Hill and Mikami's Greatest hits is no substitute for atmosphere and art direction

Only morons say ew2 is open world. I suppose silent hill is also open world.
        >collectathon
The first one had way more collectibles.

    >Goat Simulator's Pilgor got in Fortnite
All I need now is Sebastian Castellanos in the game, and I'll be satisfied. Seriously, aside from Smash 4, this was probably the least bad game that come out in 2014. Granted, it was a still a disappointment, but I still liked it.

I'm glad the game doesn't give you any incentive to play akumu.

It doesn't really, but you're moronic.
And I think I'm also moronic. Never noticed it before now, but is the cover and logo meant to resemble a lobotomy?
