switch sisters, our platform only gets 104 annual users compared to steam's 132 monthly users even though PC chads spend way more on their hardware than we do... it's unironically over for us....

Ok, anon. Fair. But you have threads for that as well and it's usually called >What are you emulating?
You people post those numbers even when you play something else, not just emulation. Also, I really don't want to be that guy, but you can probably save videos of your playthrough and post on YT channel if you want to prove something. Video of you playing/emulating a game will help you with your claim. Just a suggestion. But hey, you do what you want.
I am always sceptical but not because ''jealousy'', it's because I know how shit PS2 emulation is even to this day, and I can say with 100% certainty that most people who try those games on PCSX2 rarely play for more than 15 mins.

Imagine if the Switch/PS5/Xbox had an overlay toggle.
Imagine you can push these devices more by changing certain variables like graphics settings, TDP, etc.
I think even console players would say "Hey look, the game runs at 58fps if I lower x and y setting".
It's just a way to share results. The Deck is as much a lite science project as it is a gaming device, which is why it doesn't appeal to a lot of people who just want to game (which is completely fair).
Still got to buy your PC and accessories, that money doesn't go to Valve unlike Switch sales.
Valve wants a piece of that with Steam controllers and the Deck but the controllers dead only one million in a year lol.
>Still got to buy your PC and accessories, that money doesn't go to Valve unlike Switch sales.
Do you think that makes up for the Switch having users per year than Steam gets in a single month, though? >Valve wants a piece of that with Steam controllers and the Deck but the controllers dead only one million in a year lol.

Less users per year than Steam gets in a single months*, thanks.
If the Switch platform was free like Steam you think it would have more or less?
If you had to pay $200-$300 to enter the Steam platform(just to enter) you think it would have more or less monthly players than it has now?
Nintendo always makes the news for the weirdest fricking metrics >Annual users
Last year they were in the rags for being the highest selling console of "all time" (for the month of November(for the year 2022))
>Nintendo always makes the news for the weirdest fricking metrics
How is ‘annual users’ a “weird fricking metric”?
Switch has been out for over 5 years now. Can you really not see why at this point, from a business perspective, how many people are *actively* playing games on the platform is a more important number than how many people are purchasing / have purchased it?
this is what happens when half your console sales are females who won't ever touch the console after being done with Animal Crossing
PS: if you bought a switch for AC as a male, you should consider transitioning

In the same way a gaming PC is a "console killer" I guess. Better hardware and definitely worth, but I mean I still play my switch for stuff like splatoon
Yes, and it is for anyone with standards and what it means for the future will threaten Nintendo as all they have left is portability. Nobody said the Deck would outsell the Switch.
They never used to take down even videos of their modern consoles being emulated, it was solely just because of the Steam Deck that they started doing so.
>Wasn't this supposed to be a switch killer.
No it wasnt. It was supposed to be a very niche handheld console for modders and handheld enjoyers that was meant to fail but it sells better than anticipated proving that there is still a demand for underpowered handheld consoles.
>Surely, you didn't expect to sell significantly less than the wii u?
NTA but do you think that UMPCs as a whole won't outsell the Wii U eventually given enough time, or even the original Switch for that matter?
>all UMPCs from all manufacturers will maybe outsell the wii u
I'm legitimately asking if you think it won't, because it seems pretty obvious they will outsell both the Wii U and the Switch 1 eventually. Keep in mind that the Steam Deck and all other UMPCs count as the same system (PC.)
Maybe not if you combine all future Switches, if Nintendo keeps making them. It'd probably end up being sort of an iPhone (Switch) vs Android (UMPC) situation.
Anonymous
I don't.
Considering the deck, with its enormous amounts of shilling only sold 1 million in 6 month.
They might actuall never even get close to Wii U, unless you count the next 15 years of sales.
And how is it a switch killer if they manage to outsell the switch 1 after 50 years?
Anonymous
>I don't.
Fair enough, but then you're essentially saying that UMPCs won't continue to be a thing, which means you're also saying there won't be a market for any future Switch-like handhelds. >And how is it a switch killer if they manage to outsell the switch 1 after 50 years?
Because all PCs are the same system whereas the Switch 1 won't be the same system as the Switch 2.

There is no market for UMPCs.
There is a market for the switch.
That simple.
And claiming PC sales from the 1980s are still relevant to the PC market today is the most pathetic, moronic COPE I have ever heard.

>there is no market for handhelds >there is a market for this handheld
Okay. You're like an Apple fanboy arguing that Macbooks selling really well is somehow different from how other laptops might sale. It's the same market. >And claiming PC sales from the 1980s are still relevant to the PC market today is the most pathetic, moronic COPE I have ever heard.
If you were to look at total PCs sold you'd include them in the number, what's your point? You're the one who defined the timeframe.
Well wii u sold around 3.5mil the 1st year and perhaps Steam Deck will hit that number.
Also, the console has been released in February so it has some time left to hit another million.
Personally, I expected deck to hit that 1 mil mark right after the 1st year of its release. Wii u has seen new games in its console and its wacky gamepad was supposed to be "revolutionary" thus creating some appeal, whereas the deck is pretty much an underpowered pc with little to no reason for purchase if you own an average gaming pc.
Also, we should take into consideration deck's fricked up production and delivery time. Wii u was available for purchase since day1 and deck could have sold more if valve didnt have you waiting in queue.
The wii u was actually closer to 4 million after a year.
So the deck is lagging significantly behind, after being shilled as the most revolutionary piece of hardware in existence by every youtuber on earth.
>after being shilled as the most revolutionary piece of hardware in existence by every youtuber on earth
What kind of youtubers are you watching lmao? Most of the reasonable youtubers that have some technical knowledge like digital foundry or modern vintage gamer said that its powerful as a HANDHELD console and its amazing to see games like elden ring running on a console as small like this and have shown performance metrics from ps4 era games and emulators to show what deck is capable of. No respectable youtuber has said that deck is the switch killer or it will destroy previous/current gen consoles with its performance. Even shills like ign gave deck a 7/10
The only consoles that deck killed are the chinkware handhelds
>The Witcher 3 on the Deck looks amazing
It was the first game I tried and I was blown away. I could run everything on ultra/high and still hit a consistent 30.
I do not give a single shit about whether it's a switch killer or not in the overall market. I only care that it serves my needs and my functions, and it does, enough that I would never consider buying a switch over it.
It has killed the switch for me, for anything but the exclusives which can't be emulated.
Anything I'd normally buy on switch?
I buy it for the deck instead if possible.
I'm not sure: is this good or bad?
From the posts and threads here I would say that Deck is at least 6 months on the market, but this doesn't sound impressive.
Was I right when I said that only 5 people on this board have Deck?
In the list of Valve vanity projects it's the only one that didn't crash and burn so that's pretty good.

>In the list of Valve vanity projects it's the only one that didn't crash and burn so that's pretty good.

They’re just now getting off backorders. I had a friend that placed a reservation a week or two ago and we’re both getting ours Wednesday. I made my res at the end of August.
I always find it hilarious how there's always like 3 guys in every single deck thread, saying they'll be getting theirs in a week. Like clockwork, and it's always the same expressions.
Good for them, still think it's too big for me personally. I hope they make a Deck Lite version in the future, that would be a day one buy for me.
Like picrel but Deck looking and replace the keyboard with trackpads.
>valve can just handle distribution all by themselves >everyone else needs shelf space and increases the price of the product to pay the 50% retail markup
It depends on valves targets but this is nothing compared to other major handhelds or hardware. PSP, NDS, Switch, iPad, they all sell 10s of millions in a year
Deck is exclusive for Steam stores. They are making more. If they sold it in normal stores it would sell more, not to mention they also got affected by the chips problem
They still only sell it in a few countries. When they say they sell it in EU they mean that they sell it in EU, not in the entire European Economic Area, even if it shouldn't be hard to expand sales to the countries that adopted EU rules to be part of it. See also

Damn, I genuinely thought Nintendo was gonna frick with the Linus video but I guess they censored/blurred it to the point where it doesn't really matter.
If Valve ever gets these things into retailers and tv adverts, nintendo is going to shit themselves. I have no clue why valve insists on only selling it through steam.
>I have no clue why valve insists on only selling it through steam.
Because they'd lose money? Retailers have to mark up prices to make any profit on the investment for using space and selling it in their stores. Not to mention shipping. And if steam is selling it for cheaper online, retailers have no incentive to carry the product so valve has to sell it to retailers at a price cut. Valve's profit margin at the current price is almost certainly low enough that doing this would remove any financial incentive for doing so. If they planned to sell in retail stores, the deck would be 30% more expensive.
That is absolutely not certain at all.
The only people buying it are hardcore steamgays, how can you be certain these people increase their spending after getting one?
If they already bought everything before, and you sell them something at a loss you just lost money.
>The only people buying it are hardcore steamgays
Because it's only sold through steam. Steamgays are literally the only ones who can buy it. You think reaching a broader market looking for a good portable won't bring more money into steam?

Not a this point. Nintendo owns the market on handhelds and Valve has no chance. Their success would be limited to selling the Deck at those kiosk you see at the mall next to those "400 in 1 NES clones".
For consoles where the only access to the games/store is through the console that you're selling at a loss.
To be clear, there are precisely zero people buying a deck who don't already own a PC capable of equal or better than the performance the deck has.
There are precisely zero people buying a deck who don't already have steam purchases.
Valve is not getting new customers through this device and any additional spending will be marginal. The deck lives or dies on its ability to support it's own R&D, manufacture, and labor costs without software sales.
>Valve is not getting new customers through this device
Again because they are literally only selling it through their store where you have to already have steam to even get one. Getting it into retailers and on tv would bring in boatloads of new consumers into that steam ecosystem.

Well, with all your insight into the demographics, tell the class what the untapped market is in retail stores for a teen to adult oriented handheld mobile gaming device with a minimum price of $400? Remember, there's a reason Sony pulled out of that market. They'd really like to know where the boatloads of people are.
Just as a reference: > Switch sold 13 million between March 2017 - March 2018. > Steam Deck sold 1 million between February 2022 - October 2022.
I'd assume by February 2023 Steam Deck will sell between 2-3 million.
Not bad for a handheld PC without anything like Breath of the Wild (even though that's a Wii U game, but morons didn't buy Wii U but buy Switch for some reason), but nothing that's going to kill any sort of competition on the console front.
Brands are too powerful, exclusives drive hardware sales... I just don't see how Deck will even sell Wii U numbers.
But I really, really, REALLY want my Deck to arrive.
They are not comparable, Nintendo is a publicly traded company but Valve is not. This means Valve have nobody to please but themselves, ninty have to appease shareholders and so no matter how many they sell it will never be enough.
To use an analogy, Valve is like a single guy and nintendo is like a guy with 20 fat kids to feed.
Almost everything Valve does is a success because they are not a public company, all they have to do is a make a profit.
Forever hilarious to me that all consoles have to be put together in every single one of those graphs otherwise PC is way the frick above and they kill themselves

I mean it’s effectively an evolved form of a gaming laptop into an actual portable form. There’s something seriously wrong if it doesn’t sell millions.
I am not familiar with marketing of this device, but if they wanted sales they need to change the strategy (if there is any), trying to appeal to console gamers as an alternative. >look, Steam has games, play them
PC owners won't buy Deck. If anything, this shows they can't play games on a device with a gamepad. If it's not mouse and keyboard, they are not interested.
>I am not familiar with marketing of this device, but if they wanted sales they need to change the strategy (if there is any), trying to appeal to console gamers as an alternative. >PC owners won't buy Deck.
The thing is that Valve unironically doesn't give a shit about console gamers though, they just want more PC gamers hop onto the Linux train so that more gamedevs start supporting open standards. They're not competing with the Switch; they're essentially competing with their own audience.
>PC owners won't buy Deck.
This isn’t 1994. Literally everyone middle/high school age and above has a PC.
I’m willing to bet the number of people buying a Deck who don’t already own a PC and have an active steam library is so insignificant that it’s statistically “0” when compared to overall Deck sales.
That being said, I’m also willing to bet the majority of Deck customers are also young enough that their PC is a lower end one that was purchased for them to use with school, so the Deck represents a performance increase over what they’re used to, or at the very least, has comparable enough performance that true portability is worth it. >If it's not mouse and keyboard, they are not interested.
Same way how people who purchased the original iphone didn’t care about taking video with the camera, even though a number of cheaper phones at the time had it, but suddenly applauded it when apple added it as a feature with the 3rd gen.
Platform fanboys gonna fanboy, regardless of platform.
I unironically barely touch my Switch or PS5 now. Once Switch emulation gets better, I'll probably pack it up.
>play game on sofa in living room (either docked to TV or handheld) >go upstairs to my desktop >save has already transferred over and I can just resume
Honestly this is a bigger deal than I thought it'd be. I wish is was simpler to automatically transfer emulator saves.
Main beef is constant updates to games and the battery life being shit.
Never. Valve will never sell its products in stores, their hardware side is designed around direct to consumer. They are operating with total margin control, they're not going to raise prices or lose profit just to add in another giant cut of the sale money going to a retailer.
>an incredible flop for any other gaming company by any other standard.
Steamies are not only in denial but are objectively the worst thing to ever happen to gaming.
It took an actual year for mine to come up.
By that time I got a samsung S22 that emulates ps2, gamecube and wii at 1080p so it pretty much invalidated the Deck for me so I passed on it when it came up.
>No basically the vast majority of people who wanted one already got one. They're selling to stragglers now.

I just placed my order like 5 min ago for the 512 gb and the wait says Q2 (April-June) 2022
>Waiting for slim version
There probably won't be one because it'll make battery life even worse. >IGN: Do you foresee a future where we can release a slimmer Steam Deck? >Lawrence Yang: Maybe, but as Erik said, there's trade-offs. A slimmer Steam Deck would probably mean less battery life, so we would just have to weigh all of those and make sure that we can do what we can to mitigate it.
Translation: >Sure we could, and we could not only retain battery life but even extend it if we really wanted to for a slim version. But the off-the-shelf component cost, as well as the production cost of bespoke components we’d need for this application, at the rates these would cost today, would make the combination of slimmer batteries and more efficient processing architecture result in a device that couldn’t be retail-priced within what our metrics say our target customer demographic is willing to pay for said device.
Give it a few years and I’m sure they’ll have a slimmer version with even better performance.

>Like it or not, Splatoon 3 will outsell Elden Ring (multiplatform) sooner or later. The only game this year that has a chance of selling more is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (also a Nintendo exclusive).
It's not like Elden Ring is an example of an incredibly well selling game, it's really only sold well relative to its genre. A game like Minecraft sold 33 million on PC vs 3 million on Switch, for example.
Splatoon 2 sold 13.3 million and that came out back when the Switch had a smaller userbase. Elden Ring is at 16.6M now.
Splatoon 3 outselling Elden Ring is not far-fetched at all. It is the most likely outcome.

Those cosmetic options never outweighed the cost of the games, especially when those games used to cost $100 and more. You'd know this if you weren't a zoomer btw.

There is a reason why old people constantly go on what you could get for a dollar, because you remember the amount and the value you got for it in that moment.
Nobody goes by total value of your earnings, which is what inflation is lookign at.

Very cool. As my desktop PC ages and my distaste with being tethered to a desk grows, I am very interested in replacing my PC with a future revision of the Steam Deck. Once they figure out the dock and make that as seamless as the Nintendo Switch I am all in.
Getting mine tomorrow surprised how quickly I was able to get it. Was getting tired of all these Chinese handhelds that struggle with emulating Gamecube games and made for bugpeople hands. Normal thumbsticks is a massive plus.
>1 million in a years time via limited distribution and it's not available at any normal physical or online retailer
Tell me again how UMPCs aren't gonna take a bite out of the Switch 2. Selling a million of anything when it's not available at any sort of Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Fry's Electronics, Target etc is unprecedented.
Ganker just can't seem to grasp that 90+% of gamers today do not give a flying frick about emulation or frame rate or any of that crap. Most of them have no idea what they even mean. As long as the Switch is easy to play and you just slap a cart in, and as long as parents and kids want something easy and cheap to play on quickly, the Deck will never outsell it.
And thats not a fanboy thing, thats just common sense.

Steam doesn't even auto-login unless you actively check a box for it, so this idea that there's tens of millions active Steam users logged in without knowing it is nonsense. But what's funny is that even if 50% of their userbase did that it would still absolutely dwarf the Switch's active userbase. >Why else wouldn't they actually give us sales numbers for the deck?
They probably will eventually.

The Steam Deck 2 won't do 1080p, the performance hit isn't worth it. Just look at the chinese handhelds.

No, I argued that if the handheld market fails then future Switches will fail as well, because they're part of the same market. Or if they don't fail completely then they'll certainly take a major hit. >Valve is nokia.
Valve is Google. Makes good software, kinda can't really into hardware and can't commit to shit. And just like Google really only cares about Android in a smartphone context, Valve only cares about SteamOS in the context of handhelds.
I'll wait for the competition, has worked every single time. Valve only makes products to beta test, it's better to get the device from another company.
According to Valve this thing overheats like crazy. There was no way they can make something that performs this well in a smaller form factor no matter how hard they tried.
I'll wait for the competition, has worked every single time. Valve only makes products to beta test, it's better to get the device from another company.
There's two from Aya Neo and Ayn Odin, both of which are smaller but can only do 1/3 of the performance of the Steamdeck. It can overclock to 50% the speed of the Steamdeck but then they will start to overheat.
Deck's a pretty comfy size for me. I don't know why everyone complains about it being too big, when every other handheld people complain about how their hands start cramping after a while.
Laptops and tablets are considered portable. The pocket metric doesn't seem particularly useful to me given the wide variety in pocket sizes. If I can toss a console in my laptop bag that's portable enough for me

Steamdeck is cool. But I barely use mine.
It's too big to be a portable device and the docking capabilities aren't there to replace a desktop. It also doesn't really have the capabilities to replace a laptop.
So, it can't do portable gaming, can't do desktop gaming well, and I can't use it as a PC on the go. I'm not sure where it slots into my daily life other than a hobby device to tinker with.

>You people post those numbers even when you play something else, not just emulation
I'm a PC gamer but it's just typical PC autism to obsess over framerates, benchmarks and various numbers. See all the "I just bought this CPU but it's only scoring 4255 points in multi-core Cinebench tests while other people get 4362, what am I doing wrong?" posts online.
Thank you, that was my point and you explained it way better in a shorter post.
Still got to buy your PC and accessories, that money doesn't go to Valve unlike Switch sales.

>what it means for the future will threaten Nintendo
>Nintendo's thoughts on the Deck
Funny considering nintendo is terrified enough to take down all the emulation videos.
I don't really think that's worry, they're just hyper autistic about piracy
Nintendo literally does leave up emulation videos and tutorials, except when it involves the Steam Deck for some reason.
I see zoomers post e-celeb drama threads about Nintendo pulling unrelated videos all the time, I really doubt it's Deck specific
As opposed to when they used to leave them up? Nintendo have always been hyper litigious when it comes to their properties.
>1 million is now better than anticipated
Surely, you didn't expect to sell significantly less than the wii u?
>Surely, you didn't expect to sell significantly less than the wii u?

>all UMPCs from all manufacturers will maybe outsell the wii u
>this is the new cope that the "switch killer" defines as success
>all UMPCs from all manufacturers will maybe outsell the wii u
I'm legitimately asking if you think it won't, because it seems pretty obvious they will outsell both the Wii U and the Switch 1 eventually. Keep in mind that the Steam Deck and all other UMPCs count as the same system (PC.)
Maybe not if you combine all future Switches, if Nintendo keeps making them. It'd probably end up being sort of an iPhone (Switch) vs Android (UMPC) situation.
I don't.
Considering the deck, with its enormous amounts of shilling only sold 1 million in 6 month.
They might actuall never even get close to Wii U, unless you count the next 15 years of sales.
And how is it a switch killer if they manage to outsell the switch 1 after 50 years?
And claiming PC sales from the 1980s are still relevant to the PC market today is the most pathetic, moronic COPE I have ever heard.
>there is no market for handhelds
>there is a market for this handheld
Thats what happens 98% of consumers never hear about its existence.
>after being shilled as the most revolutionary piece of hardware in existence by every youtuber on earth
Even shills like ign gave deck a 7/10
The only consoles that deck killed are the chinkware handhelds
not bad for basically an extended paid beta, Deck 2 is the killer

It was the first game I tried and I was blown away. I could run everything on ultra/high and still hit a consistent 30.
It's night and day.
It did.
Ha, you're funny.
it was baited as a switch killer so tendies would keep deck threads from dying. it's just another pc.
I do not give a single shit about whether it's a switch killer or not in the overall market. I only care that it serves my needs and my functions, and it does, enough that I would never consider buying a switch over it.
day 0
It has killed the switch for me, for anything but the exclusives which can't be emulated.
Anything I'd normally buy on switch?
I buy it for the deck instead if possible.
That's a lot of (you)s, not giving you another one.
If this were a real console it would be a complete disaster.
>In the list of Valve vanity projects it's the only one that didn't crash and burn so that's pretty good.
The only Valve hardware that failed were the Steam Boxes, which they outsourced to shitty companies like Alienware instead of making in-house.
Remember when Dell/Alienware was going to be the first big company in this market, and then they cancelled it.
It would have been shit anyway
Only took a year for my dell laptop to stop being able to run any heavy game because of its shit thermals, no matter how much I clean it
Steam boxes were just a steam os test anyways
They’re just now getting off backorders. I had a friend that placed a reservation a week or two ago and we’re both getting ours Wednesday. I made my res at the end of August.
I always find it hilarious how there's always like 3 guys in every single deck thread, saying they'll be getting theirs in a week. Like clockwork, and it's always the same expressions.
I mean both our tracking says wednesday october 5th so I’m not sure what you want me to say.
Good for them, still think it's too big for me personally. I hope they make a Deck Lite version in the future, that would be a day one buy for me.
Like picrel but Deck looking and replace the keyboard with trackpads.
does that exist?
Please put a 8c CPU in it next time I want to play my PS3 backlog on it
>Released more than half a year ago
>1 million
>already
Meh.
It's shipped, not sold you fricking moron
>It's shipped, not sold you fricking moron
They're only shipping directly to customers, so yes, it's units sold.
>Still processing back orders
One million units shipped (sold) and still processing back orders. Yes, that's what the tweet says.
Considering they're only shipping directly to customers, that means sold.
>valve can just handle distribution all by themselves
>everyone else needs shelf space and increases the price of the product to pay the 50% retail markup
See also
>Ganker tendies think 1 million units shipped in six months is low for a niche device that's only being sold through one online store
What a bunch of morons.
>heavily marketed by youtube soibois
yeah I'm thinking it flopped.
>heavily marketed by youtube soibois
Seriously, what the frick is wrong with these subhumans?
>we're sticking it to le big evil company by promoting a product by another big evil company!
Damn, I genuinely thought Nintendo was gonna frick with the Linus video but I guess they censored/blurred it to the point where it doesn't really matter.
The lack of self awareness here is amazing
No game platform has more youtube soibois shilling it than the switch you absolute fricking moron
If Valve ever gets these things into retailers and tv adverts, nintendo is going to shit themselves. I have no clue why valve insists on only selling it through steam.
Well, no, because parents know Nintendo and will instantly gravitate towards their name, not knowing or caring who "Valve" is.
Losing money on hardware is hardly unheard of. Valve would make more than enough back selling software.
That is absolutely not certain at all.
The only people buying it are hardcore steamgays, how can you be certain these people increase their spending after getting one?
If they already bought everything before, and you sell them something at a loss you just lost money.
>Steamgays
>ever spending money on games
Now THATS funny
>The only people buying it are hardcore steamgays
Because it's only sold through steam. Steamgays are literally the only ones who can buy it. You think reaching a broader market looking for a good portable won't bring more money into steam?
It won't, unless you can imagine those people actually wanting a PC.
Look at the state of PC within the broader world.
Nobody wants them anymore.
Not a this point. Nintendo owns the market on handhelds and Valve has no chance. Their success would be limited to selling the Deck at those kiosk you see at the mall next to those "400 in 1 NES clones".
valve doesnt make games anymore. all they have is a % of all sales on their store.
Which, if they ever had the power to do so, they would have done by now.
They have more than enough power and money to do so if they wanted to. They like keeping things to their store, but the deck is their first major hardware to really take off. We'll see how hard they push it when they can build up a decent supply.
>when they can build up a decent supply.
If.
Considering crypto imploded, the gpu shortage is over, and they're getting through all their backorders, it's not a matter of if, but when.
Until valve gets bored and makes something else.
Yeah, more decks.
Well, with all your insight into the demographics, tell the class what the untapped market is in retail stores for a teen to adult oriented handheld mobile gaming device with a minimum price of $400? Remember, there's a reason Sony pulled out of that market. They'd really like to know where the boatloads of people are.
Because that gets them in the hands of enthusiasts first and enthusiasts provide better feedback than normies
Literally the opposite.
enthusiasts care about the most moronic things, and will ignore blatant jank and problems.
Then that shouldn't be a disadvantage.
>Then that shouldn't be a disadvantage
Was for
A normie will never file a bug report for an obscure crash
>sold
>shipped
way more people already bought than shipped, they are years behind sheddule
They're one week behind schedule as of today, moronic homosexual
Can't wait for the shock when it's suddenly selling a lot in Japan
When will this war about plastic electronic machines end?
TENDIE PEDO SISTERS
IT'S FRICKING OVER
>sold 1 million units
lmfao thats adorable. Nintendo is shaking in their boots.
Just as a reference:
> Switch sold 13 million between March 2017 - March 2018.
You are like little babies, watch this
Forever hilarious to me that all consoles have to be put together in every single one of those graphs otherwise PC is way the frick above and they kill themselves
even funnier when you realize PC games are a lot cheaper on average
>being this hardcore of a platform warrior c**t
Why aren’t you crying about android/iOS being together for the mobile numbers? Or PC/Mac being combined?
incidentally, 2015 is when gacha games really took off with fgo and million othr clones.
Why not just get a laptop?
Yeah bro, why not just get a laptop instead of a switch or 3ds?
>didnt mention anything about nintendo
You ok anon? Someone paying you rent for that space in your head?
You did mention handhelds
Are you ok? Dementia this young?
>Mac
lol
>lol
Nonanswer. Especially considering that anyone with brain cells can easily imagine that mac owners are going to actually pay for all their software, and probably throw a lot more per capita at microtransactions.
>lol people who pay for games are morons
>lol people who buy macs are morons
>lol mac users don’t pay money for games
Can’t have all 3, anon.
moron lol
Sure thing, zoomanon.
What other handheld devices should anon have cited to point out the absurdity of comparing a laptop to one? If he said PSP/Vita with CFW you’d be fine?
You seem awfully over sensitive about Nintendo for some reason; you okay, anon?
I have all of those plus a 3090 in my gaming pc.
I'm supposed to be impressed that you're bad with money or something?
I buy things and enjoy them while having money stowed away.
You're likely seething due to your lack thereof.
You're literally a coomer, and you're bad with money
NOBODY will ever be jealous of you lmao
i don't care
post ass
prompt?
shit this one was a long time ago but it was something like
Stunning redhead standing in a field, ~~*big butt*~~, ((tight khaki pants)), slim waist, natural lighting
What are you guys even using to create these images? I'm out of the loop.
Stable Diffusion generator if you got a decent GPU Nvidia GPU. AMDbros say it works if you follow the guide though
My 3090 can generate these images 2.5 seconds each but if you're rocking a 3060 or something you might take 10 seconds or so. There was a chart somewhere that showed times.
>My 3090 can generate these images 2.5 seconds
must be awesome
t. 1060 Black person
My miner friend sold it to me for $1200 for medical bills when it was worth $2000 on ebay
It was barely used to its potential before the A.I. stuff came out and I'm so happy
I told myself I'd sell it before the ETH merge but I just like it too much.
Concession accepted, pathetic coomer
You're spending way too much to play shitty modern nugames, you're fricking moronic.
ass
yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum
>Why not just get a laptop?
Tism post
cant hide a laptop at work to play my ps2 backlog on company time
Can you do that with a deck? That's still a pretty big device, if someone cones to your office you won't have time to hide it
tbqh I thought it would be only like 100k max since they are only selling them through steam and you have to wait like a year for one
>tablet PC with native game controls sells 1mil
Okay? This is impressive?
Once Switch emulation gets better, I'll probably pack it up.
>play game on sofa in living room (either docked to TV or handheld)
>go upstairs to my desktop
>save has already transferred over and I can just resume
Honestly this is a bigger deal than I thought it'd be. I wish is was simpler to automatically transfer emulator saves.
Main beef is constant updates to games and the battery life being shit.
Why do people need to play games on the move, just wait till you get home and play on superior desktop / console + tv
Steamies coping hard rn
>steamies
DECK CHADS JUST CANNOT STOP WINNING
Why will it be at retail?
When, I mean.
>When will it be at retail?
Knowing Valve: possibly some time between now and never.
>1 million in 10 months
>already
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Okay, why did you need to include a screencap from Twitter to tell us about the sales figures?
If I were to reserve one now, when will I get it?
couple months most like
Shit really? I thought I was gonna wait months.
It depends on what model you buy and where you live but some people are apparently getting theirs in like a week now.
pretty quickly i would guess. maybe a month?
I wouldn't call that quick at all but ok lmao
i waited 4 months for mine and most people waited even longer than that.
That's horrible
It took an actual year for mine to come up.
By that time I got a samsung S22 that emulates ps2, gamecube and wii at 1080p so it pretty much invalidated the Deck for me so I passed on it when it came up.
The demand is rapidly dwindling while they ramp up production so you really only need to wait a month, tops.
>The demand is rapidly dwindling while they ramp up production
It's the opposite, demand is increasing and that's why they're ramping up production.
No basically the vast majority of people who wanted one already got one. They're selling to stragglers now.
>No basically the vast majority of people who wanted one already got one. They're selling to stragglers now.
If that were the case they obviously wouldn't keep increasing production like they are.
If they want to clear out orders so they can begin on the Steam Deck 2 they will
Else people will cancel it.
Increasing production wouldn't be a good way to clear out their hardware, anon.
they're not clearing out hardware, they're clearing out orders.
If you had a steam deck preorder and saw they had a steam deck 2, then you'd cancel it.
>they're not clearing out hardware, they're clearing out orders.
According to Valve pre-orders are increasing. We probably won't see a Steam Deck 2 announcement until the middle of 2023, at the earliest.
I just placed my order like 5 min ago for the 512 gb and the wait says Q2 (April-June) 2022
Yes because you ramp up production when demand is decreasing. That's how business works
Cope harder you seething tendie dipshit
about a month, co-worker was interested in august and it just arrived
Source of webm please
looking more and more like couple hours / week tops
>already
This shit came out 8 months ago, that's it?
Can this shit even run Elden Ring? Or is it false advertising?
Waiting for slim version
>Waiting for slim version
There probably won't be one because it'll make battery life even worse.
>IGN: Do you foresee a future where we can release a slimmer Steam Deck?
>Lawrence Yang: Maybe, but as Erik said, there's trade-offs. A slimmer Steam Deck would probably mean less battery life, so we would just have to weigh all of those and make sure that we can do what we can to mitigate it.
Translation:
>Sure we could, and we could not only retain battery life but even extend it if we really wanted to for a slim version.
It's pretty slim now. The pictures don't do it justice
>tfw follow tendie YouTuber who is too dumb/lazy to figure out how to preorder one and still thinks he wouldn't get one until 2023
And Splatoon 3 (game of the year) sold 3 million in 3 days in Japan alone. The Deck is a confirmed flop. Nintendo won. ValveBlack folk lost.
It's the same game you played in 2015, just because you're a e-girlcon who wants to frick a squid doesn't make the game good
Like it or not, Splatoon 3 will outsell Elden Ring (multiplatform) sooner or later. The only game this year that has a chance of selling more is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (also a Nintendo exclusive).
And yet anyone who isn't solely interested in it because of a sexual fetish treats it as the nonentity it is.
>he forgot
Isn't that technically a 2021 game?
thought fifa came out every year
they do unless something changed but the names are always a year ahead i.e. 2022 came out in 2021.
i have no idea why they do this
Just Dance does this too. It's a marketing tactic.
They put one year in advance to remind you that's when the season ends and you need to buy a new game. I assume.
wait im a dumbass the pic said fifa22, didnt even look at it lmao just pulled the first one off of google, yeah i think this years vers is 2023
>Splatoon 3 will outsell Elden Ring
Delusional.
Whats Elden Ring at now?
Splatoon 2 sold 13.3 million and that came out back when the Switch had a smaller userbase. Elden Ring is at 16.6M now.
Splatoon 3 outselling Elden Ring is not far-fetched at all. It is the most likely outcome.
ER is only at 16? Damn, Splatoon can beat that easy.
>game of the year
Maybe if you're a pedophile
Why yes, I am a pedophile.
How could you tell?
>And Splatoon 3 (game of the year) sold 3 million in 3 days in Japan alone.
Imagine how much more they could sell if they weren't limited to such a small platform and instead had Steam's numbers
I love splatoon, but shit like splatoon3 is why I hope nintendo gets their shit pushed in and goes 3rd party this decade. You sure as hell can't trust consumers to not gleefully bend over to get shafted.
>shit like splatoon3 is why I hope nintendo gets their shit pushed in
Why?
I hope valve goes bankrupt and takes the entire early access, GAAS and lootbox infested shit they created with them.
>I hope valve goes bankrupt and takes the entire early access, GAAS and lootbox infested shit they created with them.
None of these are issues unless you're a literal consumerbrained zombie who falls for it.
>not an issue
>we will fix TF2, pinky promise
>Update Releases
>New hats
>>we will fix TF2, pinky promise
TF2 is the funniest example you could have used because Valve would never have supported it past 2011 if they didn't add lootboxes to it.
Those things didn't cause less good games to be made, most games have always been shit and they'd still be shit without them.
I literally know nothing about Splatoon 3 except that it sold really well in Japan.
>Those things didn't cause less good games to be mad
Yes they did.
Many good developers were forced by publishers into making trash because valve pushed their garbage.
>Many good developers were forced by publishers into making trash because valve pushed their garbage.
You mean unlike before when they weren't forced by publishers to make trash games? Only zoomers who started gaming in 2012 and get all their opinions from youtubers believe that.
>They didn't "support" it
You didn't play it from 2007.
>no argument other than "yyyyou never played it"
If you think they didn't add much post-2007 or post-2011 besides skins then you did in fact not play it. You can disagree about whether it was good or not, but not about the amount of content.
>you are not entitled to 10 years of updates
So now you reduced the time range, make up your mind, 6 years of forced shit outweights the few good things they added during 4 years, culminating with their f2p crap to draw more people in to siphon even more pennies, that ironically, ended up infecting it, and now they dropped its corpse to continue selling toys to morons.
>reduced the time range
>6 years of forced shit
I didn't reduce the time range, I was talking about 2011 in the original post. If you feel you're forced to buy optional lootboxes then you're exactly the type of consoomer I was referring to, and it makes sense you're mad. But for the rest of us it's not an issue.
You are blinded by fanboyism if you don't understand, why making a game f2p to add even more cosmetic crap, and the only compensation was even more cosmetic crap, is terrible. And again, allow me to download the version I want, to play with other people if you really think ignoring all the flashy crap is the right thing to do.
F2P shit isn't an issue when I don't buy it and it adds support and content for a game I'm playing. TF2 is really the worst example you could have used to make this argument.
>"you didn't play it in 2007"
But you are OK with it being flooded with f2p? lol
>But you are OK with it being flooded with f2p? lol
If it adds free content I like, why wouldn't I be? LITERALLY how does F2P affect me when I'm not moronic enough to buy it?
>content I like
So you like how they destroyed the UI, made it hard to get into community servers because they killed them with quickplay, and the they buried them with MyM? You like how they keep adding hats instead of optimizing their game? Or how the only alternative to bots are furgays?
I liked most of the content they added, yes. I stopped playing around the time they killed community servers, but without F2P the game would have been dead long before that.
>yes I like that Valve destroyed the game
So you are cuck, got it.
the queue to get one has been known to last from a month to a year
they are literally selling out faster than they can produce them
They didn't destroy the game before I stopped playing, most of the content was great.
I thought I made it obvious we were done, cuck.
You're right, I accept your concession.
>You mean unlike before when they weren't forced by publishers to make trash games? Only zoomers who started gaming in 2012 and get all their opinions from youtubers believe that.
And yet they didn't enfore lootbox trash, because valve made those a thing.
>And yet they didn't enfore lootbox trash, because valve made those a thing.
And yet they were still trash, and cosmetic lootboxes are only an issue if you're a consoomer zombie who can't not buy them.
>And yet they were still trash, and cosmetic lootboxes are only an issue if you're a consoomer zombie who can't not buy them.
>gabentroony defends this shit again
Why are you always the lowest standard morons imaginable?
Removing options to lock behind lootboxes makes games significantly worse, but you underage gays would never get that.
>Removing options to lock behind lootboxes makes games significantly worse, but you underage gays would never get that.
$20 is a LOT okay
I'd MUCH rather spen 20 hours getting lootbox after lootbox trying to get the one skin I want!
Don't be a israelite!
>Removing options to lock behind lootboxes makes games significantly worse, but you underage gays would never get that.
Those cosmetic options never outweighed the cost of the games, especially when those games used to cost $100 and more. You'd know this if you weren't a zoomer btw.
Valve not only added perks behind cosmetics, they did it while it was a paid game, you had overpowered scouts, spies and snipers just because they bought a hat to complete the set.
>used to get dozens, if not hundreds of cosmetic options with the game for one 60 dollar price tag
>now get close to none, get fricked with lootboxes
Why do zoomers pretend they know anything at all?
You can't even imagine what the world used to be before the israelite gaben fricked it up
>for one 60 dollar price tag
Thanks for outing yourself as a zoomer. Some N64 games used to cost over $100 accounting for inflation.
>accounting for inflation
Nobody ever does that, outside of zoomers desperately trying to look at the past.
You use the numbers you remember, using your memory when you were actually there.
>You use the numbers you remember, using your memory when you were actually there.
You use your memory of the amount of value a dollar had and what it could buy you. Nice attempt though, zoom-zoom.
>You use your memory of the amount of value a dollar had and what it could buy you.
Literally not what real humans do.
Are you actually moronic, newbie.
There is a reason why old people constantly go on what you could get for a dollar, because you remember the amount and the value you got for it in that moment.
Nobody goes by total value of your earnings, which is what inflation is lookign at.
"Only zoomers think about inflation."
I understand that you argued yourself into a corner by not knowing that games used to be more expensive, and your attempt to try and get out of it is pretty decent, but it's not gonna work on anyone actually old enough to have been cognizant at the time. Better luck next argument, zoomer.
Nobody actually corrects for inflation in their heads, zoomertroony.
because that's not how humans worked.
In most countries that changed their currency, old people still use the old currency to get a feeling for value after 20 years.
People don't change how they view money ever.
People who actually made money in the 90s know that games were more expensive back then. You don't because you are a zoomer.
LittleBigPlanet has to be the best with this.
They gave out so much free costumes and shit.
I even bought a few of them. Because they were like.... $2. For mulitple pieces of costume that you could swap.
God I miss that game.
>would have never supported it
They didn't "support" it, they added an obscene amount of hats and even added unusual effects to weapons, every single thing they added was to siphon pennies out of players, it would have been better if they kept it as it was.
>MUH TF2
Get over it you moronic homosexual, you are not entitled to 100 years of updates just because you bought a game. The game is finished, move on
Then let me opt out of the updates without modding the game I bought, because what's the point of modding it into another game then?
>less good games made
>not a problem
Frick off, pcbro
And didn't you screech how splatoon 3 was somehow evil?
The hell does valve have to do with any of that? Blame the actual publishers who push for it and the devs who put it in.
Valve massively pushed for it, innovated and invented most of that shit.
And ran the first platform specifically made to push it.
My steam deck is arriving today. Is 256gb enough to store all the shaders when I play games and use emulators?
get an sd card
Which brand do you recommend? Also is it more efficient to get 2 512gb and store different games and emulators or bite the bullet and get 1tb?
looking for one myself so cant say yet, got the 512 gb version and im already eating through it, think ill get a 1tb for the sake of simplicity
Depends on what you're playing. You can have hundreds of older games/indies, or 2-3 modern AAA games before running out of space.
I can't use SD card for larger games like D0S2? Or for 3d emulators Wii Gcube ps2?
You can, but it's not really ideal if you can help it.
didn't know there were this many dumbasses willing to fall for this scam
Normal thumbsticks is a massive plus.
nintendo is dead
Liking it. Playing games I’ve never played before because I’ve never owned a computer because I’m a hick
That janitor game sucks btw
That's a lot better than I was thinking, I didn't realize it had even passed 500k
>1 million in a years time via limited distribution and it's not available at any normal physical or online retailer
Tell me again how UMPCs aren't gonna take a bite out of the Switch 2. Selling a million of anything when it's not available at any sort of Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Fry's Electronics, Target etc is unprecedented.
>selling 1.5 times as much as the virtual boy is now a success
Why are deckshills like that?
By the time this thing dies (knowing Valve, in a year) its lifetime sales will be some number Switch regularly surpasses in a month.
>tripgay is moronic
shocking
Says the guy thinking the Deck will ever be more than a niche footnote.
Anyone who actually cares about vidya and isn't a braindead fanboy should be rooting for the deck to succeed. It benefits everyone if it does.
I fail to see how.
Everything you just described is an ignorance and fanboy thing.
Emulation is not widespread. Framerates and resolutions do not matter to most people. Ganker's obsession over them is the minority.
>I fail to see how a consumer friendly open device that provides much needed competition in the portable space benefits everyone
It would even benefit the fanboys, even if they'd scream and cry about it in the moment. They'll get over it.
The largest PC game seller in the world with virtually free and unlimited marketing can't even outsell a $600 PS3 with no games in it's first quarter, when everyone and their mom got free covid money.
Thanks for beta testing.
I'll get the steam deck 2 when it can do 1080p.
>imply Valve's ADD-riddled ass will ever make another one
they better frickin do it because they have a nice base but it's just not powerful enough for me
Keep dreaming.
They've already soft confirmed the Steam Deck 2.
And it will barely make a dent in the sales of the Switch or Switch 2.
>And it will barely make a dent in the sales of the Switch or Switch 2.
It doesn't need to, the Switch 1 or 2 will never be bigger than Steam, even combined.
>this is what gabentrannies cope with
Then why doesn't steam just release some reliable numbers?
Their active users contains people for whom steam auto-started on boot up.
>Their active users contains people for whom steam auto-started on boot up.
Nintendo's active users contains people who have played a single fricking game in a year lmao.
Where?
Valve is actively dishonest, and only gives manipulated numbers to make them look good.
Why else wouldn't they actually give us sales numbers for the deck?
>Where?
In their own earnings reports, that's where they get their 104 million annual users number from
>Valve is actively dishonest, and only gives manipulated numbers to make them look good.
>I'll get the steam deck 2 when it can do 1080p.
The Steam Deck 2 won't do 1080p, the performance hit isn't worth it. Just look at the chinese handhelds.
>comparing chink handhelds to Valve's properly tested and optimized hardware
>thinks going from 800p to 1080p is much of a leap
>thinks something like
wouldn't handle it and then some
> virtually free unlimited marketing
I have never walked into a store and seen an ad for the Deck (or Steam in general).
I have never watched a YouTube video and seen an ad for the Deck (or Steam in general).
I have never heard the Deck mentioned in the Geoffs.
If by unlimited marketing you mean Valve's few videos on the Steam Deck on their YouTube page that they made 6 months ago, then yeah...?
see
Valve pays youtubers hundreds of millions to shill the thing
If a turbo-shut in like you hasn't seen it
Then how are steam decks flying into normie hands by the hundreds of thousands?
No one on Ganker is getting a deck.
The vast majority of Ganker isn't getting a deck.
Turbo-shut in?
Lmao, if you are going to argue that the Steam Deck has displays set up in retail stores...
Well, I am not judging...
>Then how are steam decks flying into normie hands by the hundreds of thousands?
It's simply a superior product getting around on word of mouth.
>few videos
>sends free decks to journalists, youtubers and devs
>Connect a controller while steam is on "You are now using the Deck Configuration"
>all the free shilling from valve cultists
And it still only now cracked a million. Sad.
What is sad, is that they are creating artificial scarcity, they always use the most scummy practiced and everyone just rolls with it because they make good products, like Nintendo.
>artificial scarcity
It's so bizarre that nobody seems to notice that.
The deck is obviously running on it, why else would valve suddenly be able to pull orders forward?
Because they believe their fat ass Lord can do no wrong.
After the Steam Controller disaster, I think they just didn't think the Deck would sell anything.
>What is sad, is that they are creating artificial scarcity
>It's so bizarre that nobody seems to notice that.
Neither Valve or Nintendo do that, this artificial scarcity meme was only believed by morons even back when the Wii launched.
Valve obviously does.
Why else is the stock moving so fricking bizzarly, with months long wait times just disappearing?
Why else does valve refuse to give actual sales numbers?
>Why else is the stock moving so fricking bizzarly, with months long wait times just disappearing?
Because Valve are lazy as frick. This is how they've always been.
>t.steamie
>Guys, sand is kinda scarce, sorry, no chips
So, we are running out of sand
>bbbut it's special sand only found in 0.1% of sand
That's still a shit ton of sand and it's not like the earth is producing more, they just won't fricking do it
Even a zoomer like you can’t be this buttfrickingly moronic.
>deck being sold during an unprecedented silicon and gpu shortage and is only just now really ramping up production after crypto ate shit
>artificial scarcity
I don't think so tim
GUYS I GOT MY EMAIL SAYING MY DECK IS READY POGGERS!
I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I MADE THE PRE-ORDER SATURDAY
Fat frick, step up with the production.
How long is the wait to get a deck now? It was 6 months last I checked
>Ordered sept 29
>Still hasn't shipped
Am I gonna make it lads
It's gone, john.
Tyrone at fedex already stole it to resale on ebay, give up.
>wonder what the hype is about
>put in my name to be on the list
>10 mins later
>your Steamdeck is ready to be purchase
This is some shilling bullshit isn't it?
Why did it flop? What could they have done better?
why do steam deck youtubers look so... strange?
They're failed Gankertards.
The deck is for people who play PC games you dumb frick white boys.
It can play everything god damn. I gave all my consoles away because it's time I moved on from console gaming after about 25 years.
Tim Swine on suicide watch
Bruh. The way you buttholes talked about the deck made it sound like it was going to be the biggest thing ever. The little fricker won't even outsell the Dreamcast.
>non OLED handheld
why does Ganker love twitter so much?
Ganker loves attention more than women.
They'll stoop down to absurd levels to get it.
you know what's the most hilarious thing?
that the deck's success will cause nintendo to drop the "switch 2" and try a new gimmick for their next toy
which will of course fail (like the wii u) because everyone just wants a more powerful switch
>the deck's success
>thinking the Deck will have any impact whatsoever on what Nintendo does next
>switch's successor pushed back into development hell
>no announcement for 2023
>probably nothing in 2024 either
tendies on suicide watch
>switch's successor pushed back into development hell
If you're gonna keep pulling stuff out your ass make sure you have some toilet paper on hand for all the shit.
>still nothing announced
cope
Yeah, cuz the Switch is still selling too well for it. Are you too stupid to know how business works?
Good, I'm glad my switch gets continued support.
>this is what gabentrannies actually believe
Kek, the switch is still very much alive and nobody as mad about that.
>the deck's success
By every metric, it's a horrible flop.
>laptops are inherently less interesting than the macbook
>the macbook has a market, laptops don't
the PC market has seen the largest collaps in sales ever.
The console market has not.
Why are you comparing these two?
Its funny how quick that happened, really. Pretty much everyone abandoned PCs for phones and ipads.
>the PC market has seen the largest collaps in sales ever.
Source for the PC gaming market collapsing for reasons other than chip shortages?
>The Global PC Games Market is estimated to reach USD 31.52 Billion by the year 2028 and is projected to grow exhibiting a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 1.3%. The Global Market revenue stood at a value USD 29.17 Billion in the year 2021.

So you've gone from arguing that UMPCs will die to arguing that all PCs will die? Remember when consoles almost went extinct in 1982 and PCs still managed to thrive?
>nokia failed which means all non-iPhone smartphones failed
>Source for the PC gaming market collapsing for reasons other than chip shortages?
I thought the entire PC market counted?
Why are you reducing the scope now suddenly?
He doesn't want to admit that PC gaming is becoming irrelevant, replaced by phones and consoles that stream digital.
You're talking about the video games industry you fricking mongoloid.
yet you mentioned all PCs earlier.
Even PCs in 50 years still counted.
>yet you
Not that anon moron, I don't give a shit about your homosexualy little argument.
Anon, you were the one who mentioned PCs going back 50 years. I was talking about gaming PCs.
>I thought the entire PC market counted?
In your irrelevant example about the entire history of the PC market, yes? But that's not relevant to the discussion, which is about gaming PCs.
see
then why did you reply?
Because you were being a bigger homosexual than the other anon with that moronic comment.
I accept your concession, moron.
You literally said they counted.
>You literally said they counted.
If you're talking about the history of PC as a whole, which you were, why wouldn't they? But how is that relevant to a conversation about gaming PCs? Did you understand the argument or didn't you? Steam Decks, chinese handhelds, laptops and desktops are all the same system. The Switch 1 and 2 aren't.
You counted them.
So why don't they now?
They do count if you're talking about the entire history of the PC platform. Why are you talking about that topic?
You started it.
>You started it.
You're the one who mentioned a 50 year timeframe and started talking about PCs from the 80s. How is that relevant to what I'm talking about?
Stop posting you complete and utter imbecile.
didn't you just lierally argue that if the switch succeeds, the others must succeed as well?
So much for that cope.
Valve is nokia.
>didn't you just lierally argue that if the switch succeeds, the others must succeed as well?
No, I argued that if the handheld market fails then future Switches will fail as well, because they're part of the same market. Or if they don't fail completely then they'll certainly take a major hit.
>Valve is nokia.
Valve is Google. Makes good software, kinda can't really into hardware and can't commit to shit. And just like Google really only cares about Android in a smartphone context, Valve only cares about SteamOS in the context of handhelds.
Nah, the UMPC market will fail.
Same as the windows phone market failed.
>the laptop market will fail
>the macbook will continue selling
>nokia phones are inherently less interesting than the IPhone
>the IPhone has a market, nokia doesn't
Feels good to be a chad.
I still can't get over having what is basically a PS4+ in my hands and I just wonder how powerful these handhelds will be even five years from now
Oh you're a loon, aren't you?
Tell me what special needs school you ran away from, I'll take you back.
It literally outsold the deck 11:1.
The frick are you on about?
I really wish morons like you didn't exist to give tendies ammo.
>small
>sleek
This is what they took from you, and you're okay with that hulking brick that was the result.
I'll wait for the competition, has worked every single time. Valve only makes products to beta test, it's better to get the device from another company.
According to Valve this thing overheats like crazy. There was no way they can make something that performs this well in a smaller form factor no matter how hard they tried.
There's two from Aya Neo and Ayn Odin, both of which are smaller but can only do 1/3 of the performance of the Steamdeck. It can overclock to 50% the speed of the Steamdeck but then they will start to overheat.
No, I mean a reliable competitor. Someone that actually learns from Valve's mistakes, not someone that rushed to get a slice of the cake.
Deck's a pretty comfy size for me. I don't know why everyone complains about it being too big, when every other handheld people complain about how their hands start cramping after a while.
because it is not portable being this size
if the average person cannot put it in their pocket it is not a portable device
I can lift my computer tower and carry it around, that doesn't make it a portable device.
Laptops and tablets are considered portable. The pocket metric doesn't seem particularly useful to me given the wide variety in pocket sizes. If I can toss a console in my laptop bag that's portable enough for me
>posting "small" as a positive.
I cant even begin to understand your mediocre mindset.
>no advertising
>Steam store only
>shortage
>limited countries
Honestly it's impressive
>fanboy console wars
If you're over 18 and still using memeword insults to defend your favorite soulless corporation I implore you to consider necking yourself
>people are so scared by the switch they have to make up lies to deny the hardware's success
Remember, as long as the switch is selling higher than 2019's monthly numbers every month this year there's no reason for nintendo to push their new hardware out early.
didn't the switch sell that much in 24h?
At some point, probably.
Valve get 30% of every game and micro-transaction on Steam.
I am not surprised they make you spend money to "upgrade" your profile, but I am surprised there's morons that defend them.
You will never have sex
>reduced to absolute cope
I accept your troonycession.
How much would the switch have sold if you could only buy it from the 3ds/wiiu eshop?
About as well as the Deck.
Anon the n64 controllers that are only avaliable to switch online players, who have to buy it from their store, is constantly sold out
not a good argument
Is there a number?
How about you look it up? moron.
>Is there a number?
all of them
>all of them
How many?
Value and numbers both stick, moron. I'm able to remember both, whereas you don't. What job did you have in the 90s, anon?
No they don't.
Which is why when old people convert to the currency they grew up with, they use the original exchange rate instead of the one that uses inflation.
Why are you zoomertrannies so moronic?
Except I do remember that games used to be more expensive, which I demonstrated when I informed you that games used to be more expensive, which you didn't know. Couldn't tell me what job you had in the 90s? No argument? I accept your troonycession, zoomer moron.
Nope, nobody ever does that.
Which is why people complain about price increases so much.
What does UMPC mean?
>iphones still exist
>smartphones will stop selling
I could be shown data and still not believe the PS5 is selling as much as the Switch. I have seen other people with Switchs. I have seen a PS5 maybe once.
Thats UK only. Worldwide I'm sure its a different story.
>wait more to get it
Just let me fricking buy it goddamnit.
>windows phones died
>this means all smartphones will die
>buy a steam deck reservation
>decide to save up 600€ while in queue so I can buy it
>the queue is so long that I lost interest and ended up spending all the money on hookers
>when it was my turn to buy it I had no money left
Yes but you had genital warts to remember it by
>1 million
Even the Game Gear sold more the first couple of months kek. These are some N-Gage numbers right there lol
It's closer to the virtual boy than the Wii U, kek
I ENJOYED THE WII U
FRICK ALL OF YOU
How are you enjoying Elden Ring on the Switch? What about Cyberpunk 2077?
>enjoying trash
I'm happier not playing garbage
Yet you play Nintendo games.
Annihilated kek
Same gayging so hard muist get tiring Gabetroony
>cucksolegay doesn't even know what samegayging means
Sasuga
>doesn't even deny it
Must be hard being a PCgay
>still doesn't know what samegayging means
No wonder everyone considers cucksolegays subhuman.
>So unorginal they cant even come up with their own terms
pathetic
You're a cucksolegay, nobody even considers you to be smarter than a literal monkey.
I am now demoralized. I will cancel my steam deck order and purchase a nintendo switch instead.
Actually how many pcs are there? That's the library for it
>people are actually pretending 1 million is a lot for hardware
Kek, so much for the year of Linux gaming.
>You're a zoomertroony desperately trying to pretend to be an oldgay.
Did you know that games used to be more expensive?
>and considering how obsessed with emulators gabentrannies are, you agree as well 😉
Considering how obsessed you are with the Steam Deck seeing as you're in literally every Deck thread despite repeatedly being banned, you agree that it's better than the Switch.
You seem upset.
why?
KDE confirms over 1mil shipped.
You said that people being obsessed with emulating Nintendo games proves how good they are, which makes some amount of sense, and also applies to you being in literally every single Steam Deck thread despite repeatedly being banned. You were even banned within this thread and yet you came back for more.
Why are you so mad?
It looks so uncomfy
Cool about 2 million more and it might even stack up to the PSP lol
That is extremely little, holy shit
Is it?
Yes, that is only slightly better than the n-gage
Can't buy a deck in retail stores.
I thought steam was so big and popular?
Yeah? What does have to do with my post?
Who else would be obsessed with Steam Deck threads if not a Steam Deck fan? 😉
To make sure you don't think people think the deck is good 😉
And why are you so obsessed with people's perception of the Steam Deck, troony? 😉
Just fixing it, gabentroony 😉
sorry not sorry for upsetting you XD
>People who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth are three to six times as likely to be autistic as cisgender people are, according to the largest study yet to examine the connection.
😉
Yep, and the transition deck is made for autistic "women".
So perfect for you!
The same" transition deck" you're so obsessed with? 😉
>no argument
I accept your troonycession.
>no argument
I accept your troonycession.
Bump
What?
You admitted you were obsessed with the Steam Deck "to make sure you don't think people think the deck is good"
So far you're doing an excellent job letting people know trannies like yourself dislike the Steam Deck. 😉
Please delete
Cucksole sisters I need backup
>Why are gabentrannies so obsessed? XD
Obsessed with posting in Steam Deck threads, you mean? 😉
WHO CARES ABOUT THE DECK SALES
WHY DOES VALVE FUND KDE INSTEAD OF GNOME??????
gnome is garbage
Wait how in the frick? I genuinely thought it was still in the 250k~ range.
No wonder devs are beginning to shill this now as well.
Why are gabentrannies so obsessed?
Back after being banned again, tendietroony? 😉
He just enjoys getting BTFO'd humiliated and his posts nuked thread after thread, he's that much of a beta sissy.
I accept his troonycession.
Kek he just enjoys getting humiliated, are all cucksolegays this buckbroken?
Well then, obviously you don't mind these posts.
I guess I can continue them in other deck threads then 😉
Bump!
>gabentrannies seething that their troonyjannies can't protect their precious threads, despite this being /gabengaf/
Kek
>Past 500 posts
>Bump!
Lmoa cucksole sissies.
>I'm creating the ultimate gaming console so I can put a STOP to gaming on consoles
