what do you mean, of course it has launcher files it has a fricking launcher for the game. there is a sony crash handler also. they arent going to make their own fricking storefront like Ubi or some shit

So they can use the launcher for their future PC ports, like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and The Last of Us: Part I

it would make sense, they have a massive catalog they could port to PC, and PS1-PS3 games could be run on a propriety emulator. People will still buy their consoles too because it's the best value proposition, but they access a new market

      >port

valve is really shitting up the pc space by forcing 30% cut on their platform. they dont deserve that much at all.

it is not valve's fault that competing storefronts are worse. ubisoft and R* launcher and shit do just fine

        >ubisoft and R* launcher and shit do just fine
        uhh LMAO
the only reason they exist is because of the 30% cut, them being worse has nothing to do with it

I literally dont understand what you are saying here. They have their own storefronts so they dont have to give the 30% to valve, yes. they also have exclusive titles that can only be purchased there. I dont see why people blame steam for other apps being worse

Why the frick cant i upgrade my ps4 version of spiderman to PS5 version

thats a great question, I was able to for $10

no one is talking about the apps being worse you autist. i am talking about all these companies feeling forced to make their own app because of steams obnoxious 30% cut.

I'd be more than happy to see devs and publishers get a higher cut, but only if I get a cut of that. That means lower game prices, higher game quality, and less money spent on garbage like adveretising and marketing.

Since you'll never do that, you don't deserve a higher cut.

i feel like pc games have insanely lower prices because all this digital activity already. youre not paying attention if you dont think so.

im arguing everyone using steam would be better by taking less of a cut, and your response is to accuse me of being an epic games shill? you are mentally disabled. valve drones like you are the reason why they get away with 30%.

                and no online-DRM to boot.
And it keeps on working on older Windows versions too.
                Piracy also doesn't allow denuvo.

Steam compared to piracy is crap.

They host the games, host a storefront, host discussion boards, deal with customer issues and payment issues, etc. That's not to say that they deserve 30%, though.

              >deal with customer issues

              HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Steam support does zilch when your game does not work. ZILCH.
You MAY get a refund, automated if you are lucky and have not refunded too many games already for the current year.

              Again: FOR NOTHING IN RETURN.

dont they also charge money for using their servers for your multiplayer games? theyre robbing devs and publishers blind.

                >theyre robbing devs and publishers blind.
Yes, Valve is cancer and parasitic and needs to be cut out.

If they weren't such greedy pieces of shit, they could have created something good, but nope.

I wonder if Ubisoft will come back to Steam. I know that AC: Valhalla is still only available on Epic and Ubisoft stores.
