There's any reason to play this shit over MoO2 yet?

      Anonymous

      Nothing.
It's just OK and people don't like paradox for obvious reasons.
Just creamapi it and don't give a shit.

I might have an answer for your question if I knew what MoO2 was.

If you want a game with more features and depth, otherwise you can stick with MoO2 and Civilization 2.

      Nothing comes close to MoO2

Somehow Paradox makes nice games but always frick up in the process, either with balance or microtransactions/dlcs

The DLC pricing to content ratio is just raw fricking avarice.

        Anonymous

I think that's fair to give negative review over that, because even if that content is OK or good, if it's too little for the price then it's a ripoff.

But I wish it was easier to see at glance on Steam if the reason for the negative reviews is price related, because it might be more reasonable to get it on a deep sale if it's actually OK or good. But right now it's not easy to see if the reviews are because the content is garbage.

Quite a few negative reviews for this DLC and the few previous is that they also release a big patch with their DLCs, which always have some stupid gamebreaking bug in which cause them to get downvoted. Given this keeps happening they clearly dont care about negative reviews or are just too incompetent to fix the bugs.

Well, if you had a fanbase who keeps buying it anyway, you wouldn't really care either.

at least they make it trivially easy to pirate the DLC on a legit base game copy

How so? I don't own the DLC so I can't go test it.

As with the vast majority of mechanics in Stellar is, Primitives (both before and after this DLC / patch) will never actually impact your strat, which is always and in every case and in every playthrough "Farm alloys". Finding Primitives is never advantageous or disadvantageous, and don't allow you to do anything you couldn't do before. They're just sorta... there, curios to trick you into thinking the game has DEEP MECHANICS when actually it's just window dressing advertised as game-changing mechanics.

I disagree, finding primitives, enlightening them then turning them into mindless drone puppets for my empire was the height of my last save, a year ago or so. Especially for a bunch of rocky aliens that I turned into a soldier race and had extra defenses, they were the perfect infantry.

This is why I stopped playing the game pretty fast, and why it kind of baffles me that people keep buying DLC for it. None of the DLC alter how the game plays in any meaningful way, even civs that should be radically different play basically the same. What's the point? Okay, you can do your RP thing, but you can do that RP thing just as well without any of the overpriced DLC. Not like most of the shit they add in these DLC is actually immersive.

      >Finding Primitives is never advantageous
I disagree. The extra pops from primitives can help you execute your main strategy faster by either becoming food or extra hands working a job.

i dont get stellaris, i really dont

been playing it since release and then every after major patch/dlc, basically every single patch overhauls the game entirely, it's a whole new game every patch, shipbuilding overhaul, wormhole overhaul/removal, pop overhaul, instead of making the game feel fresh the feeling I get is that the devs have no clue what they're doing whatsoever, i dont even bother playing it anymore

the game is very wide but not tall at all, no mechanic has any depth whatsoever unlike any other pdx game, instead of adding more depth to features they keep redoing shit that didn't even need to be redone over and over again forever

I heard that during the launch they managed to break their own game launcher.
Dunno how it is now, have been too busy playing starsector recently.

Why isn't paradox capable of releasing just one good game or dlc? Literally everything they release has a negative review on steam.
Is it a vocal minority or are paradox costumers so moronic that they keep buying shit that they know is going to be bad?

Chinks are the one who keep buying it, Paradox games are very popular with chinks.
