It's canceled, isn't it

I really liked Advance Wars back in the day. "Back in the day" is the key part here, I don't think the game deserves a remake. They could take the concept and modernize it, then I would be interested, but if I want to play Advance Wars I'll just emulate it and dodge the SUOY artstyle.

They can use the word War in games anymore. So it has to be Advance 1+2

Absolutely, the game wasn't going to sell well before it was a possible PR disaster and wasn't even going to release in Japan.

NCL probably decided it was a burning ship and pushing it out the door just to make back the peanuts spent on having WayForward do it isn't even worth it.

    >They canceled a finished game
Somehow this bold move will actually make them MORE profit right?

Not even the first time Nintendo's done that. Earthbound Beginnings and Star Fox 2 both got canned for decades due to console generation changing and only released years later digitally.

    >uhhh they canceled it because releasing a war-themed game during a real life war would be bad!
that didn't stop literally any other war-based game from releasing in the past 20+ years

Other war games are actually likely to sell.

        >uhh they canceled it because it won't sell well!
typically that's something that gets evaluated before development begins, not when the game is finished

NoA's initial projections were probably based on how they saw fan demand for it online.

Once they announced it and had hard figures from trailer views, pre-order amounts etc., they realized they fucked up.

Go eat shit, you graficsfags dont even play games.

Wanting more from advance wars is stupid, the game is perfect and the only reason it was cancelled was because nintendo are idiots that try to stick to trends or show 'solidarity' despite god knows how many other war games were released at the moment.

Nintendo is fierce in protecting their image. Any potential for media backlash will be avoided. This is especially true given that this game is very niche to begin with, so it's not worth taking a risk currently on it

    Wayforward moved on, it's over

Shelved and canned, AW is dead again. And good. I don't want WF trash getting in the way of the series,

Best you can hope for is some disgruntled WF employee leaking the NSP in 20 years

Why the fuck would you guys even want this knowing that Wayforward is making it? River City Girls is garbage compared to real Kunio games.

Because all they had to do was follow AW's established gameplay the graphics could look like dogshit that only zoomers think look good but as long as they didn't change the gameplay or maps it could have had a chance
