If that happens it'll take even longer since the UK is shutting down hospitals for the Queen's funeral lmao
The 3DS didn't have a "connection with the game boy" either. Until they added support for it. Guess what people are asking for now? >b-b-but the 3DS had the virtual console!!!!
And? Is there even a reason why virtual console games purchased on the 3DS can't be played on the Switch? Why do I need to wait for them to release this shit again so I can buy it twice?
Imagine if every time Sony released a new Playstation you lost all your digital purchases and had to wait for them to re-release every single digital game again for full price. Nintendo fans are fricking abused housewives.

I'm not bothered; just commenting. First, you wish death upon on some nerd for his comment about a children's game. Then, you misinterpret a simple question born from curiosity as hostile. Have you ever had a normal conversation with another human being before? Ever? Seriously.

They'd have to figure out how to let you import into Home instead of Bank for that.
I'm more surprised they didn't just enable LGPE connectivity for them.
Or even in the case of these stadium ports, just put them in there. They had built in functionality in the original releases so why would you ever want to play a gimped version tied to a paid service?
With how bad Game Freak are at optimizing, that would just double the size of the game file. Nintendo might have to step in and engineer a new version of the Switch of turn the cartridges to some israeli shit like having the cartridge contain only a1kb single use download code.
And, yes, I'm talking about the GBC and GBA games like you are.
Only advanced hardware like a 2002 Animal Crossing game could do that, gf is barely out of its N64 era

The games can easily be put onto carts since it’s literally just a port with an emulator in the game.
The reason why they don’t do this any more is actually because of the virtual console. Why hand out old games inside newer games when you could sell those old games for 10$ to 30$?
It's even worse because the virtual console can only be accessed through a paid service.
They are ransacking you for the privilege to use a third rate emulator.
So what will happen with the VR house thing & the Virtual Boy Tower, Mystery gift girl and the Gym rewards?
at least you can enjoy the mini games if you play it they are quite fun
Emulating an emulator is one of the most fricked up hard things you can do, and their N64 emulator is barely holding itself together as it is.
But Joe is moronic, the question he should be asking is WHY aren't the GB games available on the Switch yet IF they want to release Stadium 1 and 2. It seems backwards. Of course Joe doesn't ask questions, he just consumes the product and gets excited for the next product.
He's right tho. Do people even really want pokemon not from the first two gens crammed in there? Why the frick would you want that instead of just a proper Pokemon Stadium 3?
Oh looks it's another "c'mon guys Game Freak can't do that it would be too hard" Joe post even though autists have already done this for free on emulators.
okay so even putting aside the obvious, that who originally developed it and who would be the one to handle tinkering it in 2022, I'll just amend my statement assclown
"Oh no you can't expect HAL labs, or Nintendo,or The Pokemon Company, or Game Freak, or whoever is being paid by the company worth billions dollar company to do the port to do that. Even though a autist did for free and is a core component of the game"
Piracy is 100% a service issue. Free emulators just provide a ridiculously better experience, it makes no sense to pay for an inferior product and service.
If they want my money they have two choices, they either do emulation extremely well, with perfect accuracy and all features intact, OR they can put more effort and make a proper remaster or remake that justifies its existence, for example I had no issue buying Wind Waker HD on Wii U even though I could emulate it, same goes for Xenoblade Definitive Edition.
I'll pay money for it, just make it good, at least better than what's done for free with open source code.
"Simply put: The Game Boy Games aren't on the Switch"
Then they should have put them on with Pokémon stadium. They don't even need a Gameboy NSO app. They could have just baked the Gameboy games into the emulation. "isn't an easy fix" my ass.
>it's too hard for them to do it >you expect too much from them
Oh my god this is genuinely making me mad
You are PAYING for this shit and you don't even get the main feature
This, if there was a free tier that they put this shit out on then hey w/e. People could go play a gimped stadium version.
you need to step away if you're getting mad at something like this, man
you're making this into something easy bigger than it really is
ah yes the >Hey anon it's just videogames man life is more important you know.
They offer a service and make claims about said service and I pay them money for it. If you paid a guy to come and do some lawn work for you and cut your bushes into a fancy shape and he fricked it up, are you saying you can't complain because your bushes aren't really important?

That analogy doesn't really work because you became aware that the games wouldn't have their full functionality before paying them. Unless you've been paying for NSO this entire time under the assumption that fully functional versions of Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 would eventually be added, which would be moronic.

Stupid fricking argument.
The games are free with a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription.

You PAY for the service to be able to play the games
They literally advertise the N64 games "authentic experience" as a benefit on the fricking advertisement.
When you go to subscribe it even specifically touts this as a benefit. Joe Merrick shills are fricking moronic.
Why are pokemon fans literally incapable of asking for the bare fricking minimum with the franchise? Why can they not just let people criticize legitimate problems without stepping in to shill?
Criticizing Pokemon games are attacks on shills themselves. You have to pretend the older, better games like Platinum, HGSS, and Gen 5 are le bad while XY, SwSh and BDSP are le good.
They’re hypefiends, fans of the bandwagon and not the games themselves
Any form of criticism comes with the risk of deterring people from the brand and that can’t be allowed
I don't really know how the emulation works, but I would imagine that the ability to read from the transfer pack is already a part of the emulation. It's connected to the controller, so there can't be much data being sent over. Just make an extension to home that converts the data from home to gen 1's save data and spoof it?
Logistically speaking if all they want to do is port N64 games, the amount of work to transfer in pokemon into the stadium games isn't worth it. At the same time, both games are near impossible to beat with rental teams being so bad. They were better off not releasing these on virtual console due to limitations and deserve the flack they're being given. That doesn't make the people asking them to create an entire emulator sandbox to let them transfer in pokemon less ridiculous.
Amazing how this franchise used to be so ambitious when it came to technology (wireless communication on GBA, GTS, Pokewalker being the most accurate pedometer ever made). Now they throw their hands up when they encounter a software limitation that was solved 15 years ago by free open source software developed by random people in their spare time, and wienersuckers like Joe applaud and make excuses for it.
If any other gaming franchise pulled half the shit Gamefreak pulls with Pokemon they would be run out of business. Like even yearly release shit like Assassins Creed, Madden, Just Dance, and CoD hit the bare minimum of having complete animations, voice acting, and decent graphics. They at least have budgets and teams that reflect the scope of how many units they sell.
>they cant connect to the game boy games because the game boy games arent on switch! >no they cant put the game boy games on switch because…. uhh… umm…. they just cant okay??
Wow, great explanation moron
It's too much work to code Pokemon Box to retrofit post genwun mons to be compatible with Stadium. And only allowing VC genwun mons to be transferable would go aboutvas well as this.
Personally I don't agree with it, but I can see Nintendo deciding the cost-benefit ratio doesn't seem worth it.
I think it’s emulating from the cartridge itself. Standalone Stadium 2 is a rom hack that lets you play non-Pokemon games with varying levels of success, including the Super Game Boy borders.
I guess that explains why they can't pull it off for the NSO version. Still, it's a shame that they didn't at least attempt to find a way to bundle it with a rom of the game.
He's right but people are of course going to complain about this, since the games are almost pointless if you can't import your custom Pokémon from the Gameboy save files. The Stadium games on the Switch are just going to exist as a archival references if there's no connectivity. You pretty much lose out on half the games without the Gameboy compatibility. I think israelitetendo will probably port the Gens 1 and 2 games over to Switch after the 3DS shop permanently closes, but they should have announced this all at the same time rather than killing the hype like this and shooting themselves in the foot.
But then they have to invent a way for it to work with Stadium, when otherwise they can just put it in the game and then, I dunno, charge a dollar extra for the online
>But then they have to invent a way for it to work with Stadium
They'll just make it so the Gameboy games work with Stadium if they're saved on the HDD or SD card in your Switch.
Tbh there's no hype to kill. Stadium will remain available for as long NSO+ is a thing, there's barely any opportunity cost in attracting buyers for launch week.
Why are you so obsessed with this guy on Twitter? You're no better than people that actually use Twitter to do the same time of thing, except you hide behind anonymity.
remember in gen 7 when they released gen 1 games on virtual console and let you transfer those ones straight to S/M
remember all the memeposting about no guard fissure machamp
crazy how that was possible but not this
I think a lot of it is Nintendo's shitty hardware and how they prematurely aborted the WiiU while the 3DS was still being made. I'm sure eventually all the eshop games from the 3DS and the WiiU will be put on the Switch, but they are morons for not putting all the Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon games on the Switch at the same time as the Stadium games. They can't just make it so you can connect your Switch to your 3DS via bluetooth, since the Stadium games require a constant connection to the Gameboy files via the N64 controller transfer pack. They would have to create a new app or something that allows your 3DS to idle and emulate the Gameboy carts while being connected to the Switch. I'm not a software engineer, and I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but I'm sure they decided it's more trouble than it's worth when they will probably announce that the Gens 1 and 2 Gameboy games are coming to Switch online during the next Pokémon Direct anyway. The gaijin wirr just have to rebuy arr the original Pokémon games on the Switch for ten dorrar each now. :^)
The more successful Nintendo gets the lazier they become. This can be seen since their inception.
When they are in danger they work extra hard and put out a bunch of good shit, look at the Gamecube's first party software output, they got Melee, 3 fricking Metroid Prime games, a godlike F-Zero, 2 Zelda games, Fire Emblem, a bunch of new shit. Then they hit a jackpot and eventually get complacent and stop giving a shit while consoomers buy it anyway. We are in peak laziness with the Switch now, the closest comparison to the current lifecycle is the Wii in 2010, even down to the continuously delayed end of life cycle Zelda game that will probably end up sucking. Absolutely no effort from this point on until they get a successor that will probably suck shit in 2-3 years.
I want Nintendo to fail to the brink of death so we get good shit again.
Someone should post an emulator screenshot of them in GBA tower with a "works on my machine" then we he screeches about piracy just say you have physical copies as well so it's legal
> "isn't an easy fix" > "Simply put: The Game Boy games aren't on the Switch"
Wouldn't that make putting the Gameboy games on the Switch the easy fix? God he's moronic.
Prease undastando we need to wait to rerease za Gameboy geimu on za Switchu untir after Scarretto ando Baiyoretto debut so za gaijin wirr buy za new geimu for Kurisumasu horiday 2022.
>trading gen1/gen2 pokemon from home to stadium >hard
k
why is this guy still breathing? When will someone from vp finally end him? I'M disappointed in you
You can't just copy them; mons from gen 3 are effectively set up in a completely different way than mons in gen 1 and 2 (EV/IV changes, moveset changes that would be counted as cheating by Stadium, etc)
They have defaults for the missing parts when porting them forward but it doesn't work going back.
It really just should have been a fricking bank app for the switch, no reason to make a brand new app and then charge for it now thanks to this bullshit whenever banks shuts down in a few years all pokemon from gen 1-7 will be stuck forever
>literally nothing
except the fact that stat distributions were completely different in gens 1 and 2 than they are with modern games and home would need to be reconfigured to support them
and the fact that home's servers would need to be reconfigured to work with the nso servers
and the fact that pokemon with moves that didn't exist in the stadium games/moves that were considered illegal in the stadium games wouldn't be compatible
and the fact that some pokemon's statlines have been changed over time
and the fact that pokemon movesets have changed overtime, meaning some pokemon can no longer access moves they used to have in the first few games
i could go on but the point is you're moronic
>except the fact that stat distributions were completely different in gens 1 and 2 than they are with modern games
Not an issue because you don't level up your Pokemon in Stadium >the fact that home's servers would need to be reconfigured to work with the nso servers
Why even make the port if you aren't doing this? >the fact that pokemon with moves that didn't exist in the stadium games/moves that were considered illegal in the stadium games wouldn't be compatible
Not an issue, just put in an error message that blocks you like how old migration used to block you from moving Pokemon with HM moves >the fact that some pokemon's statlines have been changed over time
Not an issue because you don't level your Pokemon in Stadium >the fact that pokemon movesets have changed overtime, meaning some pokemon can no longer access moves they used to have in the first few games
Not an issue because you don't learn new moves playing Stadium
it's kind of impressive how wildly you've managed to misinterpret the issues here >Not an issue because you don't level up your Pokemon in Stadium
"stat distribution" doesn't mean how your stats go up on leveling, it means these games happened before gen 3 introduced the ev/iv system and gen 4 introduced the physical/special split and home would need to be reprogrammed to support pokemon whose stats are modeled after gens 1 and 2 >Why even make the port if you aren't doing this?
good question, you should ask nintendo since they're literally already doing it >just put in an error message that blocks you
the fact that this message would need to exist is the problem, einstein. the only practical way around it would be overwriting the pokemon's moves with their gen 1/2 learnsets, which is not a solution and would be massively disliked. case in point: all the b***hing surrounding pla's home compatibility >Not an issue because you don't level your Pokemon in Stadium
kind of explained this already but what i mean here specifically is that some mons got base stat changes (i.e. butterfree's base special attack went up 10 points sometime within gens 6-8), so home would have to account for that too >Not an issue because you don't learn new moves playing Stadium
right, but you learn them in the games you're transferring mons into home from, and if your mon can't learn a move in gen 8 that it could learn in gen 2 you can't get that move in the nso stadium games, which is the problem
i know i dumped a lot on you in both the first post and this one but your reading comprehension skills need work
i wrote this and only after finishing this massive wall of text did i realize the second point didn't make much sense so i'm fixing that >good question, you should ask nintendo since they're literally already doing it
nintendo doesn't even run the home servers, let alone actually develop home, so they'd have to try and get icla to do all the shit i outlined in the rest of my posts to make it work before they actually develop a way for nso's servers to interact with home
which would take forever even if we assume icla is doing literally nothing right now (which is anybody's guess honestly)
When is /vp/ going to understand this shit is only there so a normie nostalgiagay goes
>oh hey i remember that pokemon game i will now buy your subscription
Most normies probably were never aware you can transfer pokemon i mean for frick sake youtube is filled with ranger and colosseum videos titled “the obscure DARK pokemon game YOU NEVER PLAYED”
Fricking understand already we have no control over anything this franchise is made to appeal to as many casual nostalgiagays as possible
>>OH MISUTAH MERRIKU PREASE FOR THE ROVE OF KAMI PREASE TERR THE GAIJIN THAT I HAVE MOVED ONTO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS ON TWITTERU OR I PUT SMARR BUGGERO UP YOUR ANNUERO TONIGHTO AND MARTY WIRR WATCHERU YOU SUFFER
Take attention to the animations. Pretty sure people compared its animations to swooshit to show the lack of quality in them. And thats also why we shouldnt argue with shills. Theyll deform anything the way they want, disregarding any original coment against the games
Compared to other N64 games like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 64, and Super Mario 64, Pokémon Stadium looked great. The N64 Zelda games looked pretty good, but the colors in Pokémon Stadium popped more.
I've save scummed both games to completion with rentals. Stadium 1 literally fricking cheats, it's very blatant and in your face about it when you play it like that. The odds for landing a critical hit/status effect are always against you at all times it wasn't just in your head. Then in Stadium 2 they do all that but make it even worse, they don't even randomize the odds. It's all done at the very beginning of the battle and whether you are going to do good or bad is always determined by how the numbers were shuffled at the very beginning, it's the Candy Land of video games. There is zero influence to the odds based on your choices so having a good team becomes extremely essential.
Mewtwo is actually incredibly easy to beat with rental Electrode+Ditto, but otherwise you're correct. I remember the old players guides from back in the day had ideal rental teams. They would always recommend Kadabra over Alakazam, since Kadabra came with Psybeam while Alakazam only had Psywave iirc. The games are pretty easy if you know what you're doing, but they are still quite challenging considering they were made pre-broadband Internet when no one knew about strats other than what was offered in the flavor text of the games.
Do we know if there was a reason for the rental teams having shitty movesets? I assume it was to persuade people to transfer their own mons from the GB.
I'm pretty sure that was the reason as well as trying to keep the game somewhat balanced. They would usually give the weaker rental Pokémon good moves, while the stronger ones would have weaker moves. Rental Charmander would have Fire Blast, rental Charmeleon would have Flamethrower, and rental Charizard would have Ember, for example.
Because you weren’t supposed to use them. There was probably a phase of production where there weren’t even going to be rentals before the devs realized they couldn’t count on parents to ensure their kid had the gb games. You aren’t meant to use them for the whole playthrough, even if you bought Stadium and didn’t own a gameboy you could play one of the carts solely through Stadium. They are bad to encourage you to use your own pokemon. Stadium’s difficulty is meant to be building enough good pokemon to beat all the cups despite the limited resources of RBY, not figuring out cheese strategies and hoping for good rng with the rental mon
Frick this argument. Fortnite is the most fricking mind-numbing game I've ever seen. 30 minutes of collecting and taking potshots at bots or children, followed by 5-10 minutes of tower building.
The frick are people on here talking about making the game work with home or some other service being too hard?
You have autists who do the shit in their spare time.
Let's just get to the heart of the matter, the stadium games are a lazy cashgrab and while THEY COULD fix it they don't even want to spend the minimal amount of money. It's just a cash register for normie morons to them. They just come by and collect money from morons who posted their switch with a picture of them with their mouth open on reddit.
To be honest, I once watched a streamer do a randomizer challenge with the rental teams, and a part of me wants to give it a try. If for no other reason than to see how long I can go before I ragequit.
>enable flag in Pokemon Stadium that tells it there's a game inserted in the transfer pack >player can now play it in the GB tower and acquire new Pokemon >problem solved
That feeling where I have an n64, 2 transfer paks, PS 1 and two and the old games so I've been playing with my old games instead of an inferior emulation with no features.
Wasn't the big draw of Pokemon Stadium Pokemon in 3D? 3D Pokemon is not a novelty anymore.
I'm not sure of the logistics of getting a 25 year old emulator of a 30 year old game compatible with something like Home but that seems like a lot of effort for fiddling and money to fiddle with such old coding and making sure it works well with todays hardware and while I believe they SHOULD do that for the fans they claim to appreciate so much chances really are they are NOT. Which is honestly really stupid, since, you know, if anyone has the money to spend on something like this it's the highest grossing franchise in the world.
Y'know, for Britbong standards, Marti doesn't look too bad. Joe on the other hand, he reminds me of Grotesque Steve, and as someone who liked Grotesque Steve due to pissing off Banjogays, that's honestly not a good thing.
>there's no easy fix
but there IS a possible fix. i can't understand these simps who fully deepthroat any company they have even the mildest fondness for.
Even though Joe is a bugs in anus shill for Gamefreak, i do get his point. This was the same reason that there was such a delay in trading Pokemon between BDSP/Home/SWSH.
The developers are braindead morons who didn't future proof their own data.
In the case with Stadium/RBY Virtual Console stuff, I don't know why they'd think to even release it in a half ass state besides figuring people would buy it and play it regardless. I also don't know why the frick they wouldn't think people wouldn't buy RBY/GSC right now on a virtual console version that could connect to Home.
Nintendo just sucks at emulating their own hardware and should be run out business, never to make any subpar garbage that will rarely be better than what they already made. Their best years are far behind them, much like every other corporate gaming business that started in the 80's & 90's.

Wait what? Pls post source. Need a good laughter after the call an hour ago.
I don't know about his own wedding, but I do remember him saying he brought a laptop to his brother's wedding just in case something got revealed.
What an butthole.
Thanks though, Anon. Needed something something like that just now to deal with the shit at home rn.

I honestly hope some muzzie knifes him, he lives in London right? I mean mini pakistan

If that happens it'll take even longer since the UK is shutting down hospitals for the Queen's funeral lmao
>Pointing out a feature that requires connection to a gameboy doesn't work on a console that has no connection capabilities with the gameboy
>Shill
At least he's not you, Anon
Make it connection to HOME instead? A Coli mon is not complex data and the conversion methodology to a modern mon has been there since 3DSVC.
I think that's the point - they should have released the gb games first.
He will stop posting online, sadly through peaceful means.

It looks great relative to any other Pokemon game, yeah
Damn, aren't you letting some internet nerd's opinion on this children's franchise get you a little TOO worked up?
Aren't you a little too bothered by a faceless comment on an image sharing forum?
I'm not bothered; just commenting. First, you wish death upon on some nerd for his comment about a children's game. Then, you misinterpret a simple question born from curiosity as hostile. Have you ever had a normal conversation with another human being before? Ever? Seriously.
>First, you wish
I'm not him
You're taking his post too literally
Joe is a smug butthole and deserves some comeuppance for being a prick to people who don't deserve it.
There is objectively no reason for Stadium fans to not be disgruntled about these ports.
>You're taking his post too literally
You're shitting me.
You're right, you aren't taking his post too literally because he didn't actually "wish death" on Merrick, just a strongly-worded desire for him to shut up
Imagine pearl-clutching in favor of an e-celeb on fricking Ganker

I barely even know who that guy—just that you nerds are always spazzing the frick out about him. Now go gain some basic social skills before replying to me again because this brief exchange has become insufferable.
Okay, white knight.
You can barely type properly. You don't have any social skills. You're autistic as frick. What redeeming qualities do you have? Right. So shut the frick up.
>You can barely type properly.
>I barely even know who that guy
lol
Keep posting to show how much you don't care about people insulting Merrick, bud
Improve your social skills. Learn prose and diction. Read up on tone indicators. No one's defending your autistic e-celeb crush, you crack baby. It's just curious how autistically indignant some of you guys get at people for voicing their opinions about Pokemon. You're like 40. It's not that serious.
Yeah anon it's everyone else who's mad and definitely not you
Suck Merrick's wiener harder
No one's mad about John Merrick; most normal people don't worship social media people like him (or in general) or have an autistically indignant responses to opinions about kids games.
What pisses people off is how bad some of your social skills and reading comprehension are. People eventually lose patience replying to you guys because you don't talk like normal people.
What the actual frick. Are. You. Talking. About?! Refute what?! That's not what this is. Are you following the reply chain at all?
>Why shouldnt kids get quality games ?
Did you mean to reply to someone else here or...???????????????
>Why defend him if you dont know who he is ? Stop false flagging
Am I being trolled right now? Defend what? Also, I'm not hip to the latest internet slang, but I'm also certain you're misusing the term 'false flag'.
Hi Joe
Nice projection. All you can do is attack the person and not refute whats been said
Go back.
t. weak-willed Ganker prisoner
Why defend him if you dont know who he is ? Stop false flagging
Why shouldnt kids get quality games ? Thats assuming they play pokemon when they grew up with better looking games. Only nostalfia driven manchild still buy it.

That's the Joe Merrick way. Hope for something to happen, then pretend you never wanted it when it doesn't happen.
>and Wailord
SOMEONE POST IT
Groudon is surprisingly small, maybe it's because it's next to Wailord; but still.
It's still 11 feet tall.
Groudon could actually fit inside most buildings if it hunched over by like 4th of its height.
Him jumping through mental hoops to defend Wingull T-posing in the air will never not be funny as frick.
Honestly surprised they haven't crammed the original gameboy to the GBA pokemon games up on the switch eshop yet.
They'd have to figure out how to let you import into Home instead of Bank for that.
I'm more surprised they didn't just enable LGPE connectivity for them.
Realistically at this stage, the original games should be obtainable items within the current games, existing as minigames within the mainline games.
Or even in the case of these stadium ports, just put them in there. They had built in functionality in the original releases so why would you ever want to play a gimped version tied to a paid service?
The stadium games should be minigames within the mainline games too.
>Verification not required.
Only advanced hardware like a 2002 Animal Crossing game could do that, gf is barely out of its N64 era
40 dorrer. prease understandu.
NSO is dogshit anyway, the N64 emulation is terrible. Nintendo did you all a favor by giving you as little reason to fall for this shit as possible.

thats perfectly reasonable. whats the problem, /vp/?
So what will happen with the VR house thing & the Virtual Boy Tower, Mystery gift girl and the Gym rewards?
at least you can enjoy the mini games if you play it they are quite fun
>Virtual Boy Tower
Same as if you played the N64 version without the Transfer Pak. A heck of a lot of nothing.
Stadium 1&2 have in-built emulators via the GB Tower, do they not? What's stopping them from just having one of the games included?
Emulating an emulator is one of the most fricked up hard things you can do, and their N64 emulator is barely holding itself together as it is.
But Joe is moronic, the question he should be asking is WHY aren't the GB games available on the Switch yet IF they want to release Stadium 1 and 2. It seems backwards. Of course Joe doesn't ask questions, he just consumes the product and gets excited for the next product.
This is the iq of your generic shill
never met a smart ethan
You know what, this is accurate, I’ve never met a smart Ethan either
Every Ethan I've met was a huge douche or actually moronic. Same with Joshs.

Thats obvious sarcasm anon come on.
After reading some other tweets and comments in articles about this and the direct in general, I'm not so sure.
He's right tho. Do people even really want pokemon not from the first two gens crammed in there? Why the frick would you want that instead of just a proper Pokemon Stadium 3?
No they don't. Frick. They just want pokemon that are available in the first to games to be able to transfer to it
Oh looks it's another "c'mon guys Game Freak can't do that it would be too hard" Joe post even though autists have already done this for free on emulators.
>Game Freak
they didnt even made Stadium you absolute fricking moron
Yes, but it still concerns the core games due to how integral they are to the complete Stadium experience, therefore it's shill defense territory.
okay so even putting aside the obvious, that who originally developed it and who would be the one to handle tinkering it in 2022, I'll just amend my statement assclown
"Oh no you can't expect HAL labs, or Nintendo,or The Pokemon Company, or Game Freak, or whoever is being paid by the company worth billions dollar company to do the port to do that. Even though a autist did for free and is a core component of the game"
being paid by the company worth billions of dollars to do it*
>putting aside the obvious
>when a minute ago you thought stadium was made by GF just to push your shitty ass narrative
cba
"isn't an easy fix" my ass.
fricking shut up Joe, there's no real excuse so just fricking stop pretending like there is.
I think joe is right here
but as usual you just want someone to make into an enemy
>it's too hard for them to do it
>you expect too much from them
Oh my god this is genuinely making me mad
You are PAYING for this shit and you don't even get the main feature
you need to step away if you're getting mad at something like this, man
you're making this into something easy bigger than it really is
This, if there was a free tier that they put this shit out on then hey w/e. People could go play a gimped stadium version.
ah yes the
>Hey anon it's just videogames man life is more important you know.
They offer a service and make claims about said service and I pay them money for it. If you paid a guy to come and do some lawn work for you and cut your bushes into a fancy shape and he fricked it up, are you saying you can't complain because your bushes aren't really important?
Stupid fricking argument.
The games are free with a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription.
No it's NSO+
Thanks. I misstyped that.
It’s free with your NSO+ subscription.
>free
>free with your subscription
You israelite golem shills have no brains.
>free with subscription
Think about what you said. Hint, its not free
>free if you pay
You PAY for the service to be able to play the games
They literally advertise the N64 games "authentic experience" as a benefit on the fricking advertisement.
When you go to subscribe it even specifically touts this as a benefit. Joe Merrick shills are fricking moronic.
Don't care, you dumbfricks will buy any shit with a PKMN logo sticker on it
I guess enjoy your mediocre minigame compilation and rental pokemon then
Awful tweet, Joe.

I want to know just how low the bar can go. Would people buy a game with only 50 new Pokémon and 6 gyms?
You don't even need to ask that question to know that the answer is a resounding YES.
Of course
No idea why conquest flopped but if they released it now, everyone would be buying it
People just bought a game that only added 7 new Pokemon and no gyms, so yes.
And it was the best Pokemon game in over a decade. What about it?
it was empty
For you. Theres more to mashing A in it
Y0U CAN'T THREAD YOURSELF lDl0T
Btw, without counting any of this, bullying subhuman downies and israelites like israelite israeliterick is perfectly normal for any normal man.
Shouldn't Joe be mourning? Better call the UK Police and have him arrested for not mourning.
My dream job (if pokemon wasn't garbage)
They’re hypefiends, fans of the bandwagon and not the games themselves
Any form of criticism comes with the risk of deterring people from the brand and that can’t be allowed
because it's a cardinal sin to tarnish tbeir nostalgia
I don't really know how the emulation works, but I would imagine that the ability to read from the transfer pack is already a part of the emulation. It's connected to the controller, so there can't be much data being sent over. Just make an extension to home that converts the data from home to gen 1's save data and spoof it?
I miss mista merriku posting. They use to update it everytime he did shit like this.
Backward engineer it from Home
So put them on the Switch.
If the VC games released today people would defend the Gen 1 and 2 mons not being able to port up via Home, even though it worked for Bank.
>NOOOOOOO WHY DON'T THESE ROMS COME WITH ALL NEW POKEMON AND ALL NEW ANIMATIONS
Logistically speaking if all they want to do is port N64 games, the amount of work to transfer in pokemon into the stadium games isn't worth it. At the same time, both games are near impossible to beat with rental teams being so bad. They were better off not releasing these on virtual console due to limitations and deserve the flack they're being given. That doesn't make the people asking them to create an entire emulator sandbox to let them transfer in pokemon less ridiculous.
I stopped. Now your turn
The thing is, they can't fricking wait to get ahead and defend it. You can feel it coming off their tweets.
Nintendo is learning from them
Now even their hardware is shitty
all we need now is GB/GBC/GBA online or eshop
>they cant connect to the game boy games because the game boy games arent on switch!
>no they cant put the game boy games on switch because…. uhh… umm…. they just cant okay??
Wow, great explanation moron
He never said they can't
He just explained why you can't transfer now. His tweet thread literally says it all changes if they do.
If only Nintendo had some kind of service that let you store Pokémon from any game and transfer them to other games
Please understand, they have lost the technology that allowed Gen 1 mons to exist in Home.
John Oliver?
are rby and gsc built into the stadium games natively, or are they just emulating the gbc for the save file?
I think it’s emulating from the cartridge itself. Standalone Stadium 2 is a rom hack that lets you play non-Pokemon games with varying levels of success, including the Super Game Boy borders.
I guess that explains why they can't pull it off for the NSO version. Still, it's a shame that they didn't at least attempt to find a way to bundle it with a rom of the game.
I think it's emulating from the cart, because there are significant load times.
The game boy games weren't on the nintendo 64 either
Just emulate these. Looking forward to playing them on my steam deck.
Gameboy games aren't available on the steam deck either but I'm able to easily transfer my save to a stadium. Curious.
I know there's probably a good reason but why not just put the Game Boy games in the game
The good reason is they can make more money by selling them individually for $10 each.
You're no better than people that actually use Twitter to do the same time of thing, except you hide behind anonymity.
remember in gen 7 when they released gen 1 games on virtual console and let you transfer those ones straight to S/M
remember all the memeposting about no guard fissure machamp
crazy how that was possible but not this
>remember in gen 7 when they released gen 1 games on virtual console and let you transfer those ones straight to S/M
It's impossible now
I think a lot of it is Nintendo's shitty hardware and how they prematurely aborted the WiiU while the 3DS was still being made.
Spot on. Nintendo needs failures or their hubris grows too much.
Someone should post an emulator screenshot of them in GBA tower with a "works on my machine" then we he screeches about piracy just say you have physical copies as well so it's legal
> "isn't an easy fix"
> "Simply put: The Game Boy games aren't on the Switch"
Wouldn't that make putting the Gameboy games on the Switch the easy fix? God he's moronic.
Prease undastando we need to wait to rerease za Gameboy geimu on za Switchu untir after Scarretto ando Baiyoretto debut so za gaijin wirr buy za new geimu for Kurisumasu horiday 2022.
>trading gen1/gen2 pokemon from home to stadium
>hard
k
why is this guy still breathing? When will someone from vp finally end him? I'M disappointed in you
do it yourself homosexual
I did explain why, it's not feasible and the connection Stadium needs with the games is constant.
Just copy the pokemon. They can't be sent back and only sit on your consoles rom.
You can just copy and edit. Then ported Gen 1 and 2 to Gen 7 then 8, reverse it.
Thinking of it, won't Stadium make Scat and Toilet look even worse?
Why port it this close to the release date?
He's right, but the gameboy pokemon games SHOULD be on the switch, probably included with nintendo online.
Does he get paid to say shit like this or is it autism?
Omg Joe Caterpie'd Merrick is based. I love him already!
So what is the point of Pokemon Home then?
Transfering your old pokemon
It really just should have been a fricking bank app for the switch, no reason to make a brand new app and then charge for it now thanks to this bullshit whenever banks shuts down in a few years all pokemon from gen 1-7 will be stuck forever
There is literally nothing preventing Stadium 1 from working with Home right now.
Stadium 2 would require a small amount of work
>literally nothing
except the fact that stat distributions were completely different in gens 1 and 2 than they are with modern games and home would need to be reconfigured to support them
and the fact that home's servers would need to be reconfigured to work with the nso servers
and the fact that pokemon with moves that didn't exist in the stadium games/moves that were considered illegal in the stadium games wouldn't be compatible
and the fact that some pokemon's statlines have been changed over time
and the fact that pokemon movesets have changed overtime, meaning some pokemon can no longer access moves they used to have in the first few games
i could go on but the point is you're moronic
>except the fact that stat distributions were completely different in gens 1 and 2 than they are with modern games
Not an issue because you don't level up your Pokemon in Stadium
>the fact that home's servers would need to be reconfigured to work with the nso servers
Why even make the port if you aren't doing this?
>the fact that pokemon with moves that didn't exist in the stadium games/moves that were considered illegal in the stadium games wouldn't be compatible
Not an issue, just put in an error message that blocks you like how old migration used to block you from moving Pokemon with HM moves
>the fact that some pokemon's statlines have been changed over time
Not an issue because you don't level your Pokemon in Stadium
>the fact that pokemon movesets have changed overtime, meaning some pokemon can no longer access moves they used to have in the first few games
Not an issue because you don't learn new moves playing Stadium
it's kind of impressive how wildly you've managed to misinterpret the issues here
>Not an issue because you don't level up your Pokemon in Stadium
"stat distribution" doesn't mean how your stats go up on leveling, it means these games happened before gen 3 introduced the ev/iv system and gen 4 introduced the physical/special split and home would need to be reprogrammed to support pokemon whose stats are modeled after gens 1 and 2
>Why even make the port if you aren't doing this?
good question, you should ask nintendo since they're literally already doing it
>just put in an error message that blocks you
the fact that this message would need to exist is the problem, einstein. the only practical way around it would be overwriting the pokemon's moves with their gen 1/2 learnsets, which is not a solution and would be massively disliked. case in point: all the b***hing surrounding pla's home compatibility
>Not an issue because you don't level your Pokemon in Stadium
kind of explained this already but what i mean here specifically is that some mons got base stat changes (i.e. butterfree's base special attack went up 10 points sometime within gens 6-8), so home would have to account for that too
>Not an issue because you don't learn new moves playing Stadium
right, but you learn them in the games you're transferring mons into home from, and if your mon can't learn a move in gen 8 that it could learn in gen 2 you can't get that move in the nso stadium games, which is the problem
i know i dumped a lot on you in both the first post and this one but your reading comprehension skills need work
i wrote this and only after finishing this massive wall of text did i realize the second point didn't make much sense so i'm fixing that
>good question, you should ask nintendo since they're literally already doing it
nintendo doesn't even run the home servers, let alone actually develop home, so they'd have to try and get icla to do all the shit i outlined in the rest of my posts to make it work before they actually develop a way for nso's servers to interact with home
which would take forever even if we assume icla is doing literally nothing right now (which is anybody's guess honestly)
I ordered a Pokemon game from the deep web at 3 AM and this is what arrived (REAL)
>XD
HOW DOES THIS GUY STILL HAVE A FOLLOWING
He's unironically propped up by GF
But the game boy games are on 3DS
And 3DS has home
which you can use to transfer to switch
and then use them on stadium 1 and 2
Frick this fricking paid shill piece of garbage
>>OH MISUTAH MERRIKU PREASE FOR THE ROVE OF KAMI PREASE TERR THE GAIJIN THAT I HAVE MOVED ONTO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS ON TWITTERU OR I PUT SMARR BUGGERO UP YOUR ANNUERO TONIGHTO AND MARTY WIRR WATCHERU YOU SUFFER
So why rerelease a game that lacks a major function to play it?
Wait wait the fricking minute, I thought /veepee/ said that Stadium's graphic look great? That is considered great????
Looks better than SwooSh if that works for you.
You weren’t alive for it.
Take attention to the animations. Pretty sure people compared its animations to swooshit to show the lack of quality in them. And thats also why we shouldnt argue with shills. Theyll deform anything the way they want, disregarding any original coment against the games
Lesson of the day: do not trust /vp/'s opinions, especially genwunners.
t. Zoomer
Literally no one is praising Stadium for its graphics you ape. People only compared it to SwSh because Stadium had more unique animations.
I am, Stadium has great graphics.
For the time period it was superb. Context matters when talking about a game older than yourself and 80% of this board
Compared to other N64 games like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 64, and Super Mario 64, Pokémon Stadium looked great. The N64 Zelda games looked pretty good, but the colors in Pokémon Stadium popped more.
The rental Pokemon in these games fricking suck and it's damn near impossible to beat them with rentals alone.
What the hell is the point if there's no connectivity implemented in some form?
What did gamefreak mean by this?
Not Game Freak, HAL Laboratories. And they meant you should bring your own Pokemon as that was the point of the game existing.
then put the gameboy games on switch
Zoomers don't have the attention span for them.
Frick this argument. Fortnite is the most fricking mind-numbing game I've ever seen. 30 minutes of collecting and taking potshots at bots or children, followed by 5-10 minutes of tower building.
Elephant Man is right for once.
What even is the point in Pokemon Home? Shit can't even connect to newly released games till 6 months after their release.
>What even is the point in Pokemon Home?
$ to hold everyone's Pokemon hostage for the SLIGHT chance they'll be usable in the next game.
They just come by and collect money from morons who posted their switch with a picture of them with their mouth open on reddit.
posted a picture of them with their switch*
will anyone bother to play this shit? what's even the point without transfer, might as well not have bothered
Anons keep saying this all over the thread but their post keep being ignored
Only nostalgic normies will buy it, it has pokemon in the name they’ll fricking buy it just to post about it on social media
people will play the minigames
To be honest, I once watched a streamer do a randomizer challenge with the rental teams, and a part of me wants to give it a try. If for no other reason than to see how long I can go before I ragequit.
honestly true
i'm really surprised people actually expect nintendo or game freak or the pokemon company to go to the effort needed to circumvent this
Then they could, ya know, make connectivity to the fricking Pokemon Home app through an emulated box system.
>enable flag in Pokemon Stadium that tells it there's a game inserted in the transfer pack
>player can now play it in the GB tower and acquire new Pokemon
>problem solved
>enabling a flag suddenly includes all the code of an entire other game
true, it's just a bool really
That feeling where I have an n64, 2 transfer paks, PS 1 and two and the old games so I've been playing with my old games instead of an inferior emulation with no features.
The feeling when I'm not a bitter person and will enjoy stadium minigames online with my friends
Which is honestly really stupid, since, you know, if anyone has the money to spend on something like this it's the highest grossing franchise in the world.
who the fucck is compalingi about a fricking port form a shitty game from 1999, really the autism of pekegays are is in another level
You don't belong here Rajesh.
>shitty
Get some taste, moron.
/vp/ is the most cucked board and Pokemon the most cucked fanbase, you can't argue this
Anyone in the UK wanna kill or harm Joe Merrick in Minecraft?
Is his wife a troony or just a very, very ugly woman?
She looks fun to be around
That a 45yo hugging a 14yo
She's not bad. I'd pay attention to her on her birthday.
Are they cousins? They look so.
They're bongs so they're all distantly related to each other just like japs.
That is a "help me" smile.
Why does Joe look like a serial rapist? And why is Marti so ugly? Fricking wash yourself, Jesus.
Y'know, for Britbong standards, Marti doesn't look too bad. Joe on the other hand, he reminds me of Grotesque Steve, and as someone who liked Grotesque Steve due to pissing off Banjogays, that's honestly not a good thing.
don't bring wives into it.
that' s low, bros.
add the gamboy games to switch. Easy solution
you're right about people sugging off merrick, but seek anti-psychotic medicine for everything else
>there's no easy fix
but there IS a possible fix. i can't understand these simps who fully deepthroat any company they have even the mildest fondness for.
hi
Even though Joe is a bugs in anus shill for Gamefreak, i do get his point. This was the same reason that there was such a delay in trading Pokemon between BDSP/Home/SWSH.
The developers are braindead morons who didn't future proof their own data.
In the case with Stadium/RBY Virtual Console stuff, I don't know why they'd think to even release it in a half ass state besides figuring people would buy it and play it regardless. I also don't know why the frick they wouldn't think people wouldn't buy RBY/GSC right now on a virtual console version that could connect to Home.
Crystal is still near the top of 3DS software sales.
>newcomers to the Pokemon franchise are about to find out a 20 year old game has better animations and SOUL than the newest released games
Nintendo just sucks at emulating their own hardware and should be run out business, never to make any subpar garbage that will rarely be better than what they already made. Their best years are far behind them, much like every other corporate gaming business that started in the 80's & 90's.
