It honestly seems like they really didn’t, though. The environment geometry appears to be one to one, the voice lines are all reused, animations are taken right out of 5, and a lot of the character assets are probably from the Pachinko game.
its sad that they could have done something like that with the mgs3 remake, but instead they are just using the base game and just adding pretty graphics over it.
Dog tags were fucking dumb, no one wants to do the stick up thing on nearly 100 enemies for an unlock.
mgs3 rewarding you for beating the game without detection is a much more suitable and fun method
I don't quite understand the "MGS2 is the best Metal Gear" bait. It's got an interesting ending but that's about it. The idea of it being a copy of MGS1 is good but only if you haven't played the MSX games that MGS1 relies heavily on.
Feels like "MGS4 is the best Metal Gear" would be better bait cause it's so clearly wrong I want to reply to it but you can shut people down by saying they haven't actually played it.
it got demoted to be a brazilball engine then Konami stopped using it for games. Aside from Pachinko shit
currently replaying MGSV and I am sad about those news. I liked that engine a lot, as it was running as well on my toaster 8 years ago
feel like this is one of the more stupid decisions by konami
to be fair, it looked better than most games coming out at that time, whether they were gen 7 or gen 8
cant say that about many crossgen games, if any at all

you gotta remember MGSV most of the time is rendering NOTHING. Camp Omega in Ground Zeroes is more detailed than even the more intricated bases of TPP.
Mind you, I still like the game, but the reason it ran well was because it wasn't that taxing all things considered.

So what you're saying is that competent devs knew how to both make a game look and run well?
unreal engine is going to have endless stutter because you actually have to pay attention to make a decent optimised game with it, fox engine would have just been silky smooth and been perfect, i hate this timeline
I think people are just mad over those anims looking like they had just been copy pasted, which sounds lazy to most people on Ganker
personally, I agree with you. not as keen about the UE5 thing, but looking forward to how this game will feel in terms of gameplay
Can someone explain why so many people hold the misconception that MGSV is the best game on a mechanical level when it's not even as good as something like SCCT?
People make crappy teasers for remakes in Unreal Engine that technically look better than the original in that it's UE5 on modern hardware, but with none of the soul or artistry or even really a game, and then people post things like, "[company], hire this man!".
>modern konami
it's going to be dogshit
Idk, they put a lot of money in it, so there's a slight chance it's good. Likely asset flip though.
It honestly seems like they really didn’t, though. The environment geometry appears to be one to one, the voice lines are all reused, animations are taken right out of 5, and a lot of the character assets are probably from the Pachinko game.
Yeah, it does look like an asset flip.
I can't even...
>virtuous
>unreal engine
>re-used animations(but worse)
this is the definition of low budget
But MGS3 has already surpassed MGS2
If you're a retard maybe.
A retard would say that
2pbp
its sad that they could have done something like that with the mgs3 remake, but instead they are just using the base game and just adding pretty graphics over it.
>story and setting up mgs3
>gameplay of mgs3
>graphics and style of HIRE THIS MAN
i think it will surpass every kojima game
It will be twin snakes tier.
>metal gear solid without Kojima
literally what is the fucking point?
>no dog tags
>no futuristic sci fi mumbo jumbo
Ofc it won't surpass MGS2
Dog tags were fucking dumb, no one wants to do the stick up thing on nearly 100 enemies for an unlock.
mgs3 rewarding you for beating the game without detection is a much more suitable and fun method
>Troonami
Not going to be good
MGS2 has always been the worst MGS game by far. MGSV has terrible gameplay.
So no, fuck not.
(You)
MGSV but linear and with fixed camera angles
I don't quite understand the "MGS2 is the best Metal Gear" bait. It's got an interesting ending but that's about it. The idea of it being a copy of MGS1 is good but only if you haven't played the MSX games that MGS1 relies heavily on.

It aged extremely well, in all aspects.
There aren't many games you could say that about.
MGS3 is better than MGS2.
MGS2 is cockridden due to its "it predicted the future!!!!" ending.
The rest of the game is outclassed by MGS3
Sorry, but I'm not a fag interested in scrolling through menus and watching 30 minutes cutscenes.
that new gameplay footage looks too good to be true to me
there's a catch, I just don't know what it is yet. this is konami.
iirce the game's outsourced.
Also it runs on Unreal Engine 5, so there's a catch
>iirce the game's outsourced.
Source?
>Too good to be true.
Looks like a standard hire this man tier affair.
MGS3 is the best MGS game.
call me when there's a new MGS game that is not published under nu-konami
> we will never have a MGS hype train like the 2010-2015 period ever again
vidya... vidya has changed...
I will consoom this slop and you can't stop me
what the fuck happened to the fox engine?
Too old to be updated by the guys that didn't make it.
currently replaying MGSV and I am sad about those news. I liked that engine a lot, as it was running as well on my toaster 8 years ago

>as it was running as well on my toaster 8 years ago
As it should. It was a crossgen PS3 game.
to be fair, it looked better than most games coming out at that time, whether they were gen 7 or gen 8
cant say that about many crossgen games, if any at all

How many different ways can they animate Snake crawling?
>there are people saying this is a bad thing when MGSV has by far the best feel and controls in the series
I think people are just mad over those anims looking like they had just been copy pasted, which sounds lazy to most people on Ganker
personally, I agree with you. not as keen about the UE5 thing, but looking forward to how this game will feel in terms of gameplay
I post that webm as a good thing. Them reusing MGSV animations AND MGS3 voice acting is unironically a fat fucking W in my book.
>could it surpass literal garbage
1>3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2
has this ever been updated for MGSV?
When was bond ever eating live rats in a jungle?
mgs3 is supposed to feel like a 60s spy movie
They better keep the Raikov easter egg
Can someone explain why so many people hold the misconception that MGSV is the best game on a mechanical level when it's not even as good as something like SCCT?
> why do people think X5 is the best mechanical X game when there is Y?
It's fun
it's vaporwave game you retard. It's never coming out.
it's vaporWARE anon, not vaporwave
and it was only announced like a few months ago and is still getting updates, it's not vaporware.
>this is a white man
what the FUCK is your problem
he looks like a hapa
I have zero faith Konami hasn't cocked it all up.
Are they actually importing the controls of MGSV into MGS3's levels and encounter design? If so this will truly be "Hire this man" material.
what the fuck does "hire this man material" even mean
People make crappy teasers for remakes in Unreal Engine that technically look better than the original in that it's UE5 on modern hardware, but with none of the soul or artistry or even really a game, and then people post things like, "[company], hire this man!".
ah, gotcha. that would've been obvious if I wasn't such a retard. thanks.
>guy makes retarded "modern improvement" to old game
>people go "someone needs to hire this guy to work for x"
Konami can't do anything - and I mean fucking ANYTHING right. They may even go so far as to make lootbox camos.
