USUM is just SM but better but otherwise i agree. the switch era has been very bad
ORAS makes you feel unsatisfied. I expected a remake of hoenn, not a 3D translation
>ORAS makes you feel unsatisfied
maybe you felt that way but i didn't. played it twice and enjoyed both playthroughs
> using 'objectively' in a subject related to Pokemon, the series where most fans are nostalgiafags.
Objectively they were all above 6.
XY: 6.5/10
SM: 7.5/10
SwSh: 6/10
SV: 8.5/10
Why do you people still cling to places that talks about Pokemon if you think it's been dead for a decade. The series will never revert back to what it was in the early 2000s you know ?
Not really, the only subpar game is BDSP, everything is is a perfectly fine RPG that is good but even the best of Pokemon doesn't come close to other RPG's (such as FF or DQ)
[...]
The anime was never good, just a glorified commercial for the games
Idk, Liko's show is good so far. If they drop the ball on Nemona then you are both right.
Not really, the only subpar game is BDSP, everything is is a perfectly fine RPG that is good but even the best of Pokemon doesn't come close to other RPG's (such as FF or DQ)
At least the anime is... uh... At least the merchandise is good?

I mean, he's not wrong. If you're looking at what it offers and not the performance the only other monster tamers pokemon falls short against in the modern day are older pokemon games.
Anon, have YOU compared them?
A perfect example of what I'm talking about would be the dex cut. Even with games limiting themselves to 400 pokemon per game nowadays it still boasts the largest roster in any modern monster tamer without resorting to exact recolors like Black Wargreymon or the many faces of Jibanyan. Not to mention its one of the few tamer series that doesn't have a massive grind involved for some of the end game monsters.
Pokemon has taken a massive fall from grace but the fact that it's still one of the better tamers out there just shows how shit this genre actually is

Considering we're talking about them as games and not for things like performance? Not really.
After all, even with gen 6 to 8 other monster tamers were just as linear if not more so but also plagued with constant cutscenes and the like.

No, even as games. Linear and small as fuck or an empty open world. Gameplay downgrades from previous entries, etc.

every

>linear as fuck
Every pokemon game is linear. You're so retarded you decide if something is linear or not based on the map and not the structure of the game. >even shittier difficulty somehow
It's one of the hardest pokemon games since opponents now use coverage moves and useful items. Not too mention the challenge mode. >shittier postgame
One of the bets postgames. It had it all. New areas to explore, new plotlines, a bunch of battle facilities, new pokemon and legendaries to catch, rematches with important characters and the E4 etc. >drastically worse ui than hgss
How? If anything it was better and with a lot of shortcuts. And the battle scene was 10 times better with the moving sprites, dynamic camera and ost. >no berry farming
OH NOOO I CANT FARM MY CHERRYBERINOS WOE IS ME... Who gives a fuck? You buy berries instead which is more convenient. >no secret bases
And nothing of value was lost. >no contests
You've got the musicals and the pokestars which are the equivalent of contests. >no npc rematches
Wrong, play the game before spreading bullshit.

Wanna know the irony? I've previously seen some people wanting their favorite Nintendo game franchises to be like BotW. Not sure I even count as a "shill" since I only used Pokemon Showdown but that's a big "Monkey's Paw" moment if I ever saw one.

Eh.
The first 2-3 gens were perfectly fine. You did not had a lot of alternatives for jrpgs on GB and GBA had mostly shovelware crap and FF remakes that still were better to be played in OG versions. But then came psp and ps vita and both were THE Jrpg handhelds.
>But then came psp and ps vita and both were THE Jrpg handhelds.
Eh not really, not counting ports the JRPG offerings on the two systems were pretty sparse.
I miss join avenue and I miss hanging out on the village bridge (when mixing the instruments) but wow this franchse is hopeless. this world is hopeless. enjoy the world while you can, dont focus on retarded sales tactics. enjoy life. Your smile will prevail.
Though flawed gameplay wise, Sun and Moon had the comfiest region ever. If it had better route explorations, it could have been the best game.
Cute girls too.

Every single game since B2/W2 has been far below sub-par.
since HGSS*

And Zelda has permanently shat on Pokemon's reputation. Enjoy your dying franchise.

Zelda is an empty shell of itself.
Sure it still sells, but so does Pokémon.
>Zelda is an empty shell of itself
Let me guess, you consider OoT classic zelda too.
Yes? Classic 3D Zelda at least.
Let me guess, you hate all Zelda games prior to BOTW.

Fuck no. First 2 are about right though.
Legends Arceus was a gasp of fresh air before going back into the fart cloud that is gen 6 onwards Pokemon
PLA's biggest issue was performance.
The pop in destroys much of the feeling of exploration.
Eh.

FFVI is way better for GBA than for SNES

Just gonna leave this correction.
Though flawed gameplay wise, Sun and Moon had the comfiest region ever. If it had better route explorations, it could have been the best game.
Cute girls too.
Bro, Ruby and Sapphire are at least 5 years old, now.
Exposition dumps are not fun
I don't understand how a game that doesn't run on its only console is anything other than a 0/10. You people are coprophiles
it was the last pokemon game I bought and I fucking hated it. never finished it. never liked the games past gen 5.
bro are you insane? sun and moon were like 2 years ago what do you mean
