>Literally a big monstrous bear with claws >It's a special attacker
Fucking seriously?
>big glowing forehead
Unnaturally strong dirt covering his body that isn’t through physical means but something else >literally special eye that can allow it to attack ghosts
Stop trying to make sense out of this pokemon; the truth is that Gamefreak made a unique pokemon breaking their own "rules":
>Name is Ursaluna, just like the other Ursaluna >Despite having the exact same name, is not an evolution of Ursaring AND is not a regional variant like Alolan Marowak is
As the other anons said, it's one-of-a-kind poke.
I personally do not like Ursaluna Bloodmoon, but if they are gonna break their own rules, I hope they will bring more interesting concepts for both the lore and competitive play
Same with Yellow Version Pikachu, Spiky-Eared Pichu, Partner Eevee, Partner Pikachu, etc.

Yellow Version Pikachu can be traded out or migrated, you can even evolve it in another game and trade it back. Every other 'unique' Pokémon gets fucked over somehow, like the aforementioned Spiky Ear or Cosplay Pikachu. Shit, remember Surfing Pikachus? You had to neuter those things before you could migrate them into newer gens, and now Pikachu gets Surf via TM which in that case, what took them so fucking long?
Is Ash Cap available for Transfer in Paldea yet? Or is it trapped in Home?
It's a one-of-a-kind Pokemon. Gamefreak should do more shit like this. They keep mentioning how Pokemon will adapt to new environments via new evolutions but we rarely get to see it. If you think about it, the Hisuian starter final evos should all be one of a kind too, since they're direct consequences of imported Pokemon adapting to Hisui's environment.
This. You can transfer Meltan into Let's Go or SWSH but can't evolve it in those games. This new Ursaluna is based and I'd love more special Pokemon like this. Remember that Kabutops skeleton in Kanto? How cool would it be if we got a Rock/Ghost version. The possibilities are limitless
No they should not fucking do that.
Shit like this is like Yokai Watch. Throwaway joke versions, one-off event versions, meme versions.
Pokémon has ALWAYS been fucking ANAL about its monsters, categories, types, and designs and the quality has been in sharp decline in direct correlation to the unravelling of that philosophy; now there are Pokémon evolutions trapped in the past, literal recolours are "new" Pokémon and now "mecha" versions of other Pokémon get their own number instead of sharing the thing they're a parody of. It's a disgrace. You people seem to just like and accept Ursaluna purely because it's what Gamefreak managed to shit out. Why not just buff Ursaring, an actually GOOD design? You people accept literally any old shit and actively contribute to the worsening of this IP.
>How is it any different to Ursaluna exactly
Very simple >Ursaluna/blood moon
Big bear with earthbending power with an armor made of peat >Ursaring
Literally just a bear
Convergent evolution is real and it was a very good idea for them to branch out into, and Hisui evolutions are only "locked in the past" because PLA and SV were in development at the same time rather than one after the other.
Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a special case that's lived for literal centuries and swam all the way from Hisui to Kitakami.
As for regular Ursaluna, apparently peat blocks are an extremely rare resource in the Pokemon World now and only a select few know that they're vital to evolving Ursaring into an even stronger form.
"Literal centuries" is overstatement.
Events in P:LA correspond to stuff that historically happened just around 100-120 years ago and we don't know exactly when between P:LA and today Ursaluna went extinct. Still, Bloodmoon can be around 100 years old and it's last surviving Ursaluna.
>Ursaluna went extinct
It didn’t, though. Perrin just mentions that they used to be more plentiful, and that the typical Uraluna has a yellow circle on its head. Key word “has” not “had.”
You're missing the point. The idea is that it was once a regular Ursaluna that just got progressively more fucked up over the years, not something that an Ursaring just evolves into. It's basically like irl urban legends of huge freak apex predatory creatures like bears, mountain lions etc with battle scars and shit that people only get a glimpse of.
You cannot evolve Ursaring because place where Ursaring could evolve into Ursaluna literally was transformed into modern Shitnoh. This one is last or one of the last surviving examples that miraculously survived by escaping through the sea to more rural Kitakami and adapting itself to their iron-rich soil. It's kinda how irl scientist were for damn sure that Japanese Ibis was extinct for decades but few years ago they found 14 or so of them thriving in most secluded, mountainous shithole in China.
>You cannot evolve Ursaring because place where Ursaring could evolve into Ursaluna literally was transformed into modern Shitnoh.
ursaluna isn't a regional evolution, it just evolves with an item that isn't in SV. blood moon is just a unique individual like the spiky eared pichu in HGSS, it has no bearing on whether or not ursaluna in general still exists.
wait it dosn't evolve into it? then whats the point of the connection? fuck thats retarded god this is one of the most confusing convoluted lines in the series seriously fucking fix this shit gamefreak
>Gamefreak be like: "haha let's make a Akakabuto a pokemon, pokemon tards don't consoom anything non-Pokemon so they won't notice we plagiarizied it XD"
>Literally a big monstrous bear with claws

Fucking seriously?
Do you really want ANOTHER Normal-type physical attacker bear? Just use regular Ursaluna at that point
They should have switched stats instead
>The unique wise form that survived for centuries should rely on basic melee combat
Makes no sense
>The big and stronk bear should be physically stronk
Yeah that's correct
>big glowing forehead
Unnaturally strong dirt covering his body that isn’t through physical means but something else
>literally special eye that can allow it to attack ghosts
No
If anything it makes more sense that the ultra-rare, one-of -a-kind form would deviate from usual bear behavior
If it was released in an old gen it would be a slow frail mixed attacker
Yeah, I rather have a special attacking Normal type than another physical one. It being special helps it be unique.
Ursaluna channels the energy of the blood moon on his head to fire lasers.
what if bloodmoon ursaluna was a paradox pokemon
She would have a different name then. Like Iron Bear or Iron Deadeye.
>she
literally 100% male
No, the point is, humans do not realize it is a paradox, thus they do not name it with those standards

ash greninja did basically what you described already -- same name, doesn't evolve from frogadier, not a regional variant
Same with Yellow Version Pikachu, Spiky-Eared Pichu, Partner Eevee, Partner Pikachu, etc.

Gen 9 in general felt like a lot of that.
Wiglett? No, it's not a regional variant, it's a new Pokemon!
Paradox mons? No, they're not variants of old Pokemon either, but a brand new mon that just adapts some of their likeness!
Bloodmoon Ursulana?
All of these would have been regional forms if introduced earlier.

>Rock/Ghost
long overdue
but don’t forget that there was an Aerodactyl skeleton too
should have been cursola, REALLY should have been houndstone. why are they so scared of it?
No they should not fucking do that.

>"Good design"
How is it any different to Ursaluna exactly
>goes on /vp/ for discussion
>encounters autism
>is shocked by this
First day?
>How is it any different to Ursaluna exactly

Big bear with earthbending power with an armor made of peat

The only anal thing here is your hurting butthole you autist

It's actually a mega of Ursaluna.
starting with the 3d era, variants of pokemon from older gens were a mistake

It looks like a fucking FNAF thing.
As if that was a bad thing
I see both FNAF and Terminator
har har har har har
not enough segmented parts

it's a single individual, there's nothing confusing about it
>Gamefreak be like: "haha let's make a Akakabuto a pokemon, pokemon tards don't consoom anything non-Pokemon so they won't notice we plagiarizied it XD"
oh shit the creator of ginga traveled to the future stole the design of blood moon ursaring.
CHARIZARD is a stolen idea europeans created dragons first
