I have a huge soft spot for SWTOR. Mostly because it's literally the last time we can play in the empire without the story forcing you to defect.

    I wouldn't mind a single player remake.

A competently made single player SWTOR would basically be RDR2 with a TOR skin slapped over it. Leaving aside the fact that it wouldn't be practical, a modern company would not have the soul to pull it off.

Same, but because SWTOR is the last living vestige of the old EU, even if it kinda does shit all over both KOTORs.

SI was my first class and I thought the story had potential. I wish it focused more on Sith politics like the description suggested. I also wish the spout with Darth Thanaton didn't start or end the way it did.

Same for the non-Darth Marr members of the council. Mortis and Ravage are in both the SW and SI endings but they show up for one flashpoint each and then die in that moronic expansion quest.

I remember hating how much I felt like a jobber in the SI storyline. Like I get not always being the strongest and winning over everyone, but it seemed more often than not I was set to win the fight and then lose in a cutscene. Didn't help that I was expecting more sith scheming and manipulative options but felt more like a dumbass who needed others to compensate for them.

In retrospect SI was less Palpatine and more Maul.

Playing Warrior as either an autistic honourgay or a manipulator is a lot more funny imo
At one point you casually bait a jedi into going bad simply by saying you don't feel like fighting, which means they can't attack you because you're not doing anything wrong.

I remember playing the expansions and hating them. That Robot and his wookie were insufferable, Lana felt like a weird self insert, and the dialogue was absolute garbage. I honestly felt more like a Smuggler or a light leaning grey jedi than I did as Darth Nox.

The worst part about it being an MMO is definitely how your actions don't really affect anything. Korriban got ransacked, I complete the story and come back to it like nothing happened. That guy outside the temple is still torturing those same traitors, those sith trainers in the combat room are practically useless now since you automatically get your powers, and that one butthole assistant overseer is still going "STILL ALIVE!?" even though I have the power and authority to melt him in broad daylight.

Lana feels more like some writer's waifu than a self-insert
I mean, if you romanced her you can cuck a guy to death because he didn't know everything she did was because she missed getting filled out.

If we could play it fully single player I'd still play this game, the storylines are fun and all but I cba paying a sub for it when I barely utilize the MP aspects to begin with, they also massively frick you over as f2p, last I remember you had like 1 hotbar for skills, the most petty solution to make your playtime miserable.

They did pull back on the israeliteelry in regards of limiting the UIX and progression, though they still XP throttle you as a f2p player.

They also limit you playing the expansions I recall. Also unpopular take but I hate XP boosts and I think most games reward way too much XP to begin with, you always outlevel everything in any goddamn game you play nowadays just by exploring a bit and engaging with side-stuff even slightly. I liked when leveling was slower in SWTOR, back when it had those old wow style talent trees still

They do, but subscribing once gets you all the expansions up to that point, so it's like a $10 buy-in for all available content + conveniences.

Not sure if that's new, I might have access to some if that's the case. I just never bothered going back to the game because my last GPU fried when I was playing it and I ended up replacing the entire PC so I kinda forgot I was even playing it.

If you do story missions plus a little side content (there's no reason not to it's all in the same area) you'll easily be overpowered for the entire game.

Yeah I think that's bad, I feel like games are designed for ADHD people nowadays. I like doing side stuff and exploring and stuff and that always makes me outlevel the content.

The whole game is level scaled now, so even if you overlevel and overgear you're going to get your shit torn apart if you pull too many enemies, it's actually kind of annoying, especially when you return to an old planet for whatever reason.

Not sure if good change or not. I wonder if they removed the group quests, I remember most zones having some and those were extremely hard to solo unless you played very smart. I also liked those...relics(?) you found on each of the planets that gave your char permanent stat boosts. Shit like that was cool, was fun chatting to the other people trying to do the same jumping puzzles to get to them kek

No, those heroic missions are still in. The trade-off is now your companions are all omnirole and extremely competent at whatever role you tell them to do. Which removes some character to the companions, but it was inevitable after they sold Treek and she was overpowered as shit.

My honest thoughts are that it was a waste to show Satele and Shae Vizla in the trailers being young and hot as frick then have them be grannies in the game itself.

Honest thoughts are, good game for star wars nerds, but over the years they destroyed all of the original game design, today it's there to milk star wars whales for cosmetic dogshit with nerfed gameplay difficulty for actually braindamaged people. I can't emphasize enough how braindead the gameplay is, you literally don't need to do combat and just let your companion kill everything for you.
They don't give any frick about the lore anymore, they just put in all the outfits and armor from the TV shows for money.
The original class stories from 2011 (ironic) and the cash shop are the only things that keep this game together and afloat.
I am a day one player and extremely disappointed with what they have done to this game and just try to enjoy the last years (or months who knows) that this game has.

i don't really remember but I think almost everyone at this point is in their late 20s/early 30s, with the BH probably being the oldest somehow

      Anonymous

      >Knight / Warrior / Consular
18-22 (same as Anakin in Episodes II-III) with Consular heavily implied to be the youngest of the bunch (around 18-19)
      >Trooper / Agent
Mid 20s, pretty young but they're mentioned as having had some degree of experience prior to the beginning of the stories.
      >Inquisitor
Could be of any age due to their social standing at the beginning of the game, but 25-35 seems to be the most realistic bet
      >BH
Getting into the older territory here, late 20s is fairly plausible. Again, implied to be an experienced muscle / sharpshooter
      >Smuggler
Has to be the oldest one due to their experience in smuggling business, and also because they're the only character who start out with their own starship
