>Tactics Ogre Reborn >Diofield Chronicle >Project Triangle Autism
Black person you've literally had three big budget strategy RPG's announced/released this year alone
The best marketing strat for indies is to present a position of opposition >Tactical RPGs are dying guys! >tactical game shows up to "save" genre
Its tried and true, be wary of seeing it on Ganker, anonymous posters don't think like marketers.
It honestly seems like a mix of both since it brought stuff back from the SNES version like >Units having elemental affinities >No more 3 lives system >Can't just bring everything with you in every map, you have to give characters loadouts >No more TP
Oh and most importantly of all >Unit based leveling instead of class based leveling
But it seems that content from the PSP version is in like Ravness and CODA chapters (one clip from the video was from the CODA chapter about Canopus' sister).
>Pretty sure it's because PS5 can't play PS4 discs
Anon, the frick are you talking about? Backwards compat with PS4 games is literally one of the core features of the PS5
Ah sorry then, I never bothered to check up on PS5's features since I was never getting one. Good question, there's no real reason for a PS5 version to exist then.
Neat release and all, but I played Tactics Ogre on my SNES, PSX, PSP, and various degrees of emulation for each version. I wish they'd stop fricking re-releasing Tactics Ogre and make a new game in the franchise already.
Tactical RPG does not mean "turn-based RPG where you can move", just like CS:GO is not a tactical RPG because "you can customize your character, roleplay, and it's very tactical".
>Why did the Tactical RPG genre die?
escalation killed the genre, constantly stacking mechanics and other shit for their fanbase made them completely unapproachable for casual or new players unless theyre willing to read a whole wiki on what to do and how to play, even ingame tutorials are like 3 hours long to explain everything in the game
>see title >remember LUCT got a port/remaster/whatever a few years ago >think it can't be that again, maybe it's that and Knight of Lodis in HD or something >look it up >just LUCT again >Squeenix page for it has an overview on the history of the series >no mention of Lodis
OK what the frick? Was it directed by a different guy who got excommunicated or something?
Why revive this shit instead of the superior Ogre Battle series
Ogre Battle 64 was 23 years ago and nobody has tried anything remotely similar since. Tactics clones are a diamond dozen
>Triangle Strategy >Into the Breach just got a huge update >Kagakino Vestaria Saga 2 dropped last week >Recently just off the top of my head
You're not looking hard enough. Stop buying Nintendo fujoshit like Three Houses.
I want a SaGa management sim. It would have all the skill and leveling trappings of SaGa but force the player to use the gambit system from 12, or something like it.
Pretty much make the player a DM for the game.

Where is the wargames renaissance?
Now that models are widely available for 3D printers I'm surprised wargaming hasn't exploded.
Slytherine literally keeps making new wargames

Also live a live and chrono cross
man i hope this is based off the SNES version and not the babymode PSP version
It honestly seems like a mix of both since it brought stuff back from the SNES version like

God why does Square keep insisting on smoothing all their remakes and remasters. It looks like fricking shit
>they advertise redrawn art for high definition display
>I can literally see the upscaled pixels on that portrait
Is square fricking serious?
i want a big budget Rance Quest.
because "people" who play jarpigs don't want challenge
>PS5 version
Why? Can't they get the PS4 one to run at 4k? It's an upscaled SNES game using shitty filters.
Pretty sure it's because PS5 can't play PS4 discs.

The March of the Black Queen needs a full blown remake.
>that price
what's the price
41 McDoubles.
>Tactical RPG
>Uses Snes quality graphics
fricking why? Every fricking game in this genre feels like this.
Fire Emblem
Front Mission remake
The Diofield Chronicle
And Tactics Ogre is just a remaster of an SNES game, not a complete remake. What else would it look like?
where the frick is the news on front mission? tactics ogre is alright but if I had to buy just one it's going to be front mission
Might be laying low waiting til closer to release. The franchise has been taking a beating recently and they might fear bad press harming a revival.
What are you talking about? Larian still makes them.

I bought this game's deluxe edition like 3 seconds after the page went up. Frick all you salty hoes. This is one of the best game ever.
GMG has it discounted
I don't give single frick about middle men stores. If I want something, the price doesn't matter.

Lodis wasn't directed by matsuno, so yes its status as an "ogre battle saga" game isn't consensual despite being a very competent game.
Same goes for Ogre Battle 64, which as far as I'm concerned is the greatest game of all time.
bro the same publisher put out 2 other strategy RPGs in the same year
why the sprites so smudgy
Why revive this shit instead of the superior Ogre Battle series
Ogre Battle 64 was 23 years ago and nobody has tried anything remotely similar since. Tactics clones are a diamond dozen
>Lets remake the shittiest one
The sprites in this game look god awful, did they just run it through an upscaling script like pajeets normally do?
>Triangle Strategy
>Into the Breach just got a huge update
>Kagakino Vestaria Saga 2 dropped last week

You're not looking hard enough. Stop buying Nintendo fujoshit like Three Houses.
>Kaga Saga 2
The man is still at it? Wow.
I want a SaGa management sim. It would have all the skill and leveling trappings of SaGa but force the player to use the gambit system from 12, or something like it.
Pretty much make the player a DM for the game.
You ever played teamfight tactics? Or any auto-chess game
Digimon Survive added an SRPG minigame into their Visual Novel as well.
On the side, had TO PSP always had Voice acting?
Previously only in the Japan-only Saturn version.
Not apart from the intro sequence.
IDK but all turn based died and that is bullshit.
Another one off the list confirmed. That was truly the Dead Sea Scrolls of leaks.
Did you see that they gave a proper design to the lightning and ice goddesses that were added in later releases?
having to move your little dudes around in a grid was lame compared to March of the Black Queen.
getting punished as an "Evil" character for beating weaker armies or using Wizards so you can't recruit the Angel was some bullshit.
