They really did that?! Little known games from big developers Before Naughty Dog made Uncharted, it made the wacky comedy game Keef the Thief.
Whether it had to start somewhere, ran low on cash or had a crazy one-off idea, almost every big games studio has worked on some surprising games. A football JRPG, a Shrek tie-in, various kinds of licenses, these largely forgotten titles often reflect periods of uncertainty, when talented studios needed a project to keep the lights on and would work on whatever was going. Some of these games are, of course, terrible. Others, like Irrational’s Tribes Vengeances, are cult classics that have come to be regarded as highpoints for their series. Whatever the story though, they’re all surprising. Wayne Gretzky Hockey (Bethesda) Watch this video on YouTube These days the idea…

BioWare’s Anthem is broken and bricking PlayStation 4s Uh oh.
BioWare’s latest – and worst rated – shooter, Anthem, is facing more than just bad reviews: it’s also bricking consoles. According to redditors, the game often crashes and occasionally takes the system down with it. And in some cases, the system never starts back up. One complaint thread by ForTheMasters has prompted over a thousand upvotes. This is the only game that causes a complete PS4 shutdown from AnthemTheGame ForTheMaster’s complaints were echoed by other users. “Happened to me as well,” wrote Terry2Toke. “The worst part is when it shuts your console off, it does it as if you pulled the power plug out of the wall. EA Games under fire for ‘blacklisting’ critical Anthem reviewers Explosive allegations by Australian video game reviewer shines a light on open games industry secrets.
“Destiny killer” Anthem is facing scathing criticism and it seems that instead of making promises to improve the game, EA Games has decided to hit its critics where it hurts. Their wallets. Youtuber Gggmanlives, whose game reviews have garnered an impressive 212k subscribers, earlier today alleged that his negative review of the game prompted the entertainment giant to blacklist his channel from future cooperation. While most youtubers who review games care little about any company’s feelings, those who do it as a career depend on early previews to draw an audience and stay relevant. This early access – as well as other benefits like exposure and giveaways – is often…

BioWare’s decision to kill its gaming forums is a horrible one Now there’s no good way for customers of BioWare’s role-playing games to talk directly with developers.
BioWare, the makers of Dragon Age, Mass Effect and numerous other role-playing games recently announced that its community forums will shutdown later this month. After great consideration, we are closing down the BioWare forums, effective August 26, 2016. The Star Wars: The Old Republic forums will continue to operate; however, our public boards for Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and legacy BioWare titles will no longer be available. This wasn’t an easy decision. Our players are important to us. Your feedback, stories, and love for our games drive and inspire us. In the past, our forums were the only way we could speak to you directly. They allowed our developers to talk with fans,…

Actual news outlet reports girl was virtually raped in GTA V News outlet claims modders are hackers, and they're "staging violent attacks" in Grand Theft Auto. Evidence: a crazy female games journo.
Reading the following post on the GameSpot forums had my troll senses tingling: Because today at work I overheard a 50 year old woman talking to someone about the GTAV ban saying she had been in a heated discussion the night before with her son about the game and how ”you can rape women”. Now I’ve completed this game on PS3 (and own it on PS4) and can’t remember one instance of being able to rape anybody. This women spoke about the game as if the whole point of GTA was to rape and kill women. I asked her if she had played the game which she responded ”No” but…
