IRL streamer catches guy blatantly hacking CS:GO at Dreamhack "Are you cheating?" "Yep."
The balls on this guy randomly caught by IRL streamer Benczek while filming at Dreamhack. He’s playing CS:GO with no less than three blatant hacks visible on his screen – in full view of everyone. Did you spot that? First there’s the third person mode to help him look around corners, definitely not a Counter-Strike feature. Then there’s the neon purple skins, allowing him to more easily see other players. Finally, there’s a bunnyjumping script to automate the speed boost that can result as a quirk of the physics in many games. When the cheater notices the camera, he smiles, knowing full well what Benczek is about to say. “Are…

Hacker receives developer-sanctioned death penalty in Guild Wars 2 Sweet justice.
Aside from feeding that loot treadmill addiction so you can stave off delirium tremens for just one more night, arguably the best part about playing an MMO is that it’s a growing, ever-changing, living world. Recently, a hacker was terrorizing ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 2 until the game’s player community gathered their own evidence on this player’s misdeeds, reported it to ArenaNet, and had the hacker’s character put to death…

Is marijuana used as a performance enhancer in competitive gaming? So far testing positive carries no negative.
Baseball has Barry Bonds and his Giant head (and ego) under the scrutiny of the senate. Cycling has a long list of riders banned for doping. The Olympics have stripped athletes of their medals for taking steroids. Competitive gamers have bong rips before frag fests. But so far testing positive carries no negative. Hit the jump (and the bong) for more on the smoky underbelly of competitive gaming. Alex Walker, the Australian World Cyber Games Tournament Director, admitted in an interview with Gameplayer that some cyber athletes like to get fired up by firing one up before competition, but said he doesn’t think it’s a major problem. “I’ve seen a…
