Thread for Talosfags. Discuss 2 if you want. Me, I want to share my progress in Gehenna.
- Got filtered hard by Crater's 2nd star (world 2) and especially Pendulum (world 3). Says a lot about a puzzle when getting its stars is easier than solving it.
- Bonus world was a fucking joke, hardest puzzles my ass. Almost every puzzle there is centered around crossing beams which the game teaches you way back in world 2.
Only world 4 left.
Crossing beams filtered me, I used a guide at the end because I was too excited to jump into 2.
Didn't get all the stars
Go back to world 1 and get the Leprechaun easter egg before you finish the game. You find bits of a statue around W1 hub and assemble it on a pedestal near the spawn point
>Almost every puzzle there is centered around crossing beams which the game teaches you way back in world 2.
But they center around using connectors in ways that the rest of TTP1 didn't call for, such as linking one connector to multiple receivers of different colors, or cutting off a laser with another laser. That's why people find those puzzles difficult.
Anyway, nevermind the puzzles. What do you think of the story? The other robots, the message board, and the text adventures. I loved Road to Gehenna.
>The other robots, the message board, and the text adventures.
Sovl. Far better than whatever the fuck the robots made in 2.
I only played the demo but it seemed to tackle a question I've been posing recently of what if we discovered immortality- how would society work around it? I hope they actually explore the idea I haven't touched the game yet. The robots talking is kind of boring and it feels like they don't really explain puzzles existing in real life (if it is real life?).
I'll pick it up on sale I wanna try it but not that badly considering 2k+ games in my fucking backlog.
You'll probably find TTP2 to be more fulfilling than most of the low-effort games you wishlisted. Also Road to Gehenna is the DLC for TTP1.
>running around the castle area
>jump in the water near a bridge
>cyclops head screaming silently up at me
Didn't know this was a horror game.
Screenshot? What world is that?
NTA but he's talking about an easter egg in Talos 1. It's the head of a broken Gnaar statue.
Sick, thanks
Love the accumulator. My favourite new gizmo.
>feels like I piss off half the people I talk to
>start to think my answers to the entities don't matter
>motherfucking Helga showing up everywhere
Also I think I missed a strato hologram in E2 and maybe more, assumed he just isnt in every area.
Btw how many human artifacts are there? I only found some in S2 I think.
It reminds me of whatever you call the early electricity version of steampunk.
like the new mechanics in 2 but I have yet to run into a truly hard puzzle yet, currently in S2
the only one I had to look up a hint for was Lateral Inhibition and it was only because I had a complete brainlet moment
there's at least 1 artifact in every area I think, some of them are really out of the way
Do I need to use the golden gate puzzle to get the Pandora star in S2?
Shit, I meant West 2.
There's a driller hiding on the map to grab the activator hiding behind a drillable wall. If you want a hint as to where the driller is: It's not far from the statue
Did the Talos 2 devs just give up when making S3? All the puzzles there are piss easy and only use basic elements from the first game.
They gave up in general after modelling a bunch of giant structures.
Rotating platforms, teleporters, and drillers were not in the first game, so no idea what you're talking about. S3 was a pretty impressive world. Cool Golden Gate puzzle and some big reveals in the storyline.
I lit the nearby connectors with a blue laser from level 3, and got the star using a blue activator I smuggled out of level 6.
>Rotating platforms, teleporters, and drillers were not in the first game
I meant W2. I thought that South was world 3, but it's actually West.
>I lit the nearby connectors with a blue laser from level 3, and got the star using a blue activator I smuggled out of level 6.
What about the driller?
No driller required.
The preferred solution, I think, is to find a driller in the overworld somewhere, use it on a false wall next to one of the levels, and use the activator found there. I skipped all of that and stole an activator from level 6.
Then what's up with the drillable wall near 6?
>make a puzzle game
>almost 80 gb and requires a ssd
bravo
Don't forget the latest graphics card
I'm running it on a HDD that's over 10 years old with a 1060.
Accumulator > Item swap > Body swapping > Inverter > Jammer > Connector > Recording > RGB > Fan
Accumulator/Teleporter > Body Swap > RGB > Inverter > Connector > Jammer > Fan > Item Swap > Shit > Recording
I really miss the recording one. Shame they didn't include it.
I don't understand people's hatred, recording is the only thing in Talos Principle 1 that really requires more sophisticated thinking. It boggles the mind if you don't pay attention and the potential for more complex things is immense.
Talos Principle 2 is sorely lacking in more complex puzzles, although contrary to what some anons have said, the difficulty does increase as you go on, but not enough to make the game really difficult.
That's exactly why I hate it.
The rest of the tools in the game are relatively easy to manage in comparison, so Recorders hit you like a fucking truck.
The golden doors are filtering me. Am I retarded?

I've reached a point in the story where things are starting to close in, and honestly, I don't like the way the game is going. That idea of philosophical debate is false, one of the lines of reasoning is clearly the right one because of a ridiculous event in the game, but I haven't reached the end yet to judge better whether or not it ruins the writing...
Note: in the third desert world, I spent two hours trying to get Pandora's star, and ended up having to get one of the tools from one of the puzzles that has a low wall that you can jump over and retrieve things from inside, including one of those energy accumulators that probably allow you to cheese that whole world, lol. I think to get the star honestly, you have to open the gold puzzles.

I like how the crows were modeled.
Yeah, that's the downside of adding new mechanics with every new area. I really liked the new things they introduced and it was fun to see how you could solve puzzles using those but you get left wanting more complex puzzles that make the best use of that.
>game is too easy and I had no issues on any of the puzzles 🙂
Stop trying to feel superior and smart by trying to establish dominance on the Internet. We all know you spent 20+ minutes on that one puzzle you just don’t want to admit it.
The puzzles were on average easy but there were definitely head scratchers even among main puzzles. And even some of the stars were tricky due to the vastness of every location and having to walk around and figure out where you could find additional tools.
For me it was forgetting about the ladders. There's that one puzzle, forgot its name, where you use the clone but you're separated with a fence. At first I thought it was impossible to finish the puzzle until I realized there were ladders on both sides, Felt like a retard.
>get stuck
>get stuck
>suddenly realize you completely forgot about one mechanic
yep, that's me
>already solved the puzzle just didnt realize
happened to me several times, I made the puzzle seem more complicated than it was
