> A variety of new abilities, such as gravity manipulation and mind transference
the second one is probably related to controlling multiple robot bodies, so there's probably be dummies you can bodysnatch to do the puzzles
i'm a bit worried after the shit show that serious sam 4 was. how badly optimized it was for how it looked. i had fun with ss4 but i do feel like it wasn't their best work. hopefully the reason for ss4 was so unpolished was because they were working on the talos principle
I can't fucking wait. The last one was one of my favourite games of the decade.
The only thing is that the trailer for 2 being in the overworld kinda spoils the fact that 1 is a giant Turing test
>Immerse yourself in the rich, bittersweet world of The Talos Principle with a stunning soundtrack by master composer Damjan Mravunac (Serious Sam, The Talos Principle), with a guest appearance by Chris Christodoulou (Risk of Rain 1 and 2). >Chris Christodoulou
Now theres a name i would never expect in a game like this.
I love the first game so much. The atmosphere, the music, the story, the puzzles, all of it just comes together so nicely. I love stories that focus on the positive side of things even in the worst of situations.
But where do you go from here? Gehenna wasn't really on the same level and it already felt like retreading what made the original good. What do you think the story will be about?
Apparently, it is supposed to be humanist and positive according to the writer.
As for Gehenna, I liked it on par with the base game, it was just a different kind of experience imo.
It seemed clear that the footage was from the real world after you wake up. So the giant pyramid, the ruins etc. were all part of the last ditch effort to save humanity. Perhaps it's having you actually go out and do what the first game was testing you to be able to do.
I wonder if it'll be as lonely of an experience as the base game. Everything that happens in the simulation was for the purpose to prepare one robot body to carry on humanity somehow, everything else gets deleted afterward since the project fulfilled its function. So if there are to be more bodies, the only way for them to come into being is if the player builds them right? I don't remember what happened to those banished in Gehenna and if they got bodies of their own in the real world.
Wow that trailer kinda got me hyped not gonna lie. Making it a direct sequel in the real world now might be pretty neat. Hope the writing remains on point. I don't doubt the puzzles.
Man, it's been so long.
>Hope the writing remains on point. >Jonas Kyratzes (The Eternal Cylinder, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos) and Tom Jubert (The Swapper, Subnautica), joined by Verena Kyratzes (The Hand of Merlin, Serious Sam 4).
same writers, so yeah, i'm thinking it'll remain kino swapper is great
I haven't played the first one in years but fucking loved it. Should I replay the whole game or can i hop into the dlc and not look like a complete retard?
Born into a new world where biological humanity is extinct but human culture lives on in a city of robots, you find yourself swept up in a mind-bending adventure involving a mysterious megastructure hiding enormous powers.
The more you discover, the more you will be confronted with questions about the nature of the cosmos and the purpose of civilization. The broken promise of a better tomorrow, the fear of repeating humankind’s mistakes, faith in reason or renouncing humanity altogether - the choices you make and the sides you take will determine the course of events.
A New Generation of Puzzles

The Melodies of Creation
Immerse yourself in the rich, bittersweet world of The Talos Principle with a stunning soundtrack by master composer Damjan Mravunac (Serious Sam, The Talos Principle), with a guest appearance by Chris Christodoulou (Risk of Rain 1 and 2).
For me it was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjmms3DQrCI while this message plays >I look at this inert shape and I wonder who you're going to be. Will you hold the same values as we do? Will you love us for having created you? Will you resent us for having put you into an uncertain and dangerous world? Looking back at our history - our achievements, our crimes - what will you make of us? Will the world you create be like ours, or so different we can't even imagine it? Either way, I hope that you'll find this little blue planet to be as beautiful as we did. I hope you'll take care of it a lot better than we did. I hope that one day you'll look up and reach for the stars.
I'll be honest, I hated the story. I came into this world to solve puzzles. All that historical, mythological, and philosophical bullshit doesn't interest me. I barely read anything in the terminals, and I was happy when that whiny bitch finally died in that one tower voice log. Shame that they are not necessarily encountered in chronological order, so this wasn't the last I've heard of her.
I get not liking it but hating it seems excessive, it's inoffensive at worst. Perhaps you came into it expecting a pretentious "deep/thought-provoking" game like the blurbs say which is the reason I hate that label is so often put on the game. It's just a simple life-affirming story in a cool setting, that's all there is to it
For me it was specifically the terminal not long into the game with the father sending a note to his son (daughter?) about how they've got all the time in the world to figure things out. I had lost my dad not long before and it read just like something he'd say. Now I'm sad again.
Thank you. I know I have a screenshot saved of that specific screen because I sat there for more than a few minutes but it's stashed on some external drive someplace and I know I'll never find it, but you knew the one I was talking about so there's no need.
Hi I don't even mean to shit up the thread but I'm going to do exactly that, but I almost feel like you couldn't make the first game anymore because everyone would say it's pro-ai propaganda and "robots don't have feelings get rekt Milton" and ignore the library forever
finally some good fucking foo
>ps5 exclusive
nevermind
every Piss5 "exclusive" is just an ""exclusive (wink wink)""
stupid

I literally just finished replaying the first one last weekend. Im so fucking ready.

Interesting, the screenshots show 2 new mechanics. The trailer didn't show shit.
We're going to have to do some funky shit to figure out these puzzles, huh.
I hope it doesn’t get delayed
>new talos principle
IM COMING HOME
finally some good fuckin food
>The amount of plebs in the sticky not knowing the first game
fuck yeah baby
I'm actually hyped for a video game in 2023? Wow.
is it going to be half virtual, half real world?
Life is worth living again.
OH HELL YES
really excited for the future of the talos principle. it was one of my favorite puzzle games
Funny timing considering I just reinstalled 1 after a Talos thread yesterday
FUCK THE SERPENT
ALL MY HOMIES HATE THE SERPENT
And fuck that Admin bitch too.
Just beat the first game a few days ago and currently playing the DLC. Fuck yes it's good to know that actual decent video games still exist in 2023.
Elohim did nothing wrong
we won talosbros, the three of us
FROGS ARE PEOPLE TOO
Fucking nice, I never did start the DLC so now's a good time to if any
The story is arguably better in the DLC.
Looks like theres a lot of cool new environments to explore

It's going to be in the Unreal engine, idk if it's 4 or 5
devs confirmed its ue5
>Step out into the real world

Been waiting so long for this. The first game is one of my favorites.
I can't fucking wait. The last one was one of my favourite games of the decade.
The only thing is that the trailer for 2 being in the overworld kinda spoils the fact that 1 is a giant Turing test
WE ARE SO BACK
My biggest gripe with the original was the tacked on easter eggs. They sucked and ruined the mood every time.
Most of them are out of the way so it's no big deal. But yeah holy shit there were like a billion easter eggs.
I liked the ones that were there because they knew about gamer tomfoolery.
Sure, these were cool.
But there's plenty of shit, referential ones.

uninstalled at 110 minutes and refunded. Absolutely peak midwit game
it regularly goes on sale for like 4 bucks, did you think this was some epic pwn or something?
Okay 401

What if Drennan's project isn't the only project? Imagine the kino of going to other facilities to fish out other Turing-tested androids.
So is the big chained guy supposed to be Prometheus?
Anyone here present, who has knowledge in games specially in working in a game company?
What up?
I'm only interested in how it is with the communication among each other, because I'm interested out of curiosity.
Maybe you know your way around..

This is the part that worries me...
The indomitable spirit of main against even extinction thanks to reason and technology bros, we're going home.
The puzzles weren't that special but man if I'm not hyped as fuck for the new environments and soundtrack. Just please no more roastie commentary

I haven't played the first one in years but fucking loved it. Should I replay the whole game or can i hop into the dlc and not look like a complete retard?
Yes
The DLC is clearly beyond the main game in terms of difficulty but if you remember how each mechanic worked you can probably hop straight into it.

fuck
thank you
This was the highlight with Dragon's Dogma 2. I'm so happy to see it's no longer vaporware. Talos Principlenwas a great great game.
Bros I’m so fucking ready. The original was my favorite puzzle game ever and my second favorite vidya of all time

Fucking madlads, I never would have expected it

I think you're vastly overestimating how much people care about AI.
I bought talos principle on a whim and I was blown away, my fucking brainlet mind couldn't handle it
