You don't go back in the game, but since you can own all three of the Creation Trio plus god himself, I figure going back isn't a hard thing to do.
Yeah, I figure that since by the end of the game you literally have God on speed-dial your character could go back to the future any time he or she wanted, but that doesn't happen during the game since it'd mean you wouldn't be able to keep playing in Hisui.
Poor Ingo is probably permanently stuck in the past with amnesia, though.
It would also mean leaving behind all the friends you made here. Well, hopefully not the pokemon at least
Though pokemon Home does have a challenge thing specifically for moving pokemon from PLA to BDSP, so I guess maybe you are intended to move them to the future that way or something?
