Yes. That game has grinding, which is antithetical to FE.

FE 9. Best balance of gameplay, story, and replay value.

The story is pretty bad though.

    FE4 for the plot.
FE6 for the simple but effective gameplay with great replayability and the comfy characters/story.

FE4 for the plot and massive scale. It has by far my favorite gameplay and it confuses me that whenever you praise the gameplay anons just immediately shit on it

I get to the very end of every Fire Emblem game and then just quit, right at the end. I guess I just don't find these games that enjoyable. This and 4 were the only ones I found fun, and this is the only one I ever beat, but I'm pretty sure I got to the end of all of them. I don't remember because they're all the same.

I only do that with games I enjoy too much which I don't want to end

same, I just lose interest in seeing this through
maybe just character drama ends and it's just story until credits roll

I was thinking about it, and I think the only thing I enjoy about these Fire Emblem games is seeing my guys' stats go up. The games aren't fun or difficult, the stories and characters aren't interesting. But I like seeing my guys get stronger, and once that's all done, there's nothing for me to do. Every single one is the god damn same.

      >Gambling RNG simulator
Yes, one of the best. Kaga's games are fricking garbage, and I'm glad that hack is relegated to releasing shitty, free games using SRPG Maker. Only someone with Stockholm Syndrome could find any of his "works" appealing.

The only RNG that can't be heavily influenced is Weapon Durability. Which is legitimately shit game design since it doesn't add anything to the game but tedium

I feel like all the Fire Emblem games have flaws that make it difficult to call any one of them the definitive best. That said, I'd say 9 is definitely the best one for beginners to start off with. Relatively simple without being braindead easy like Sacred Stones or Lyn Mode. Fun and enjoyable cast of characters that don't go overboard with quirkiness like Nu-FE and who actually get screentime and development unlike old-FE. Plot is relatively simple without being completely by the numbers and it's probably one of the most solid stories in the franchise without any glaring giant plot holes like some of the more ambitious games seem to have.

Take your pick depending on your preferences.
    >FE4 - best story, best pre-3ds character building, slower gameplay, easiest difficulty of the 3, awesome soundtrack
    >FE5 - good middle ground between good story and gameplay, brutal difficulty, quick gameplay (after manster), good soundtrack
    >FE6 - hardest (on hard mode), middle ground of gameplay speed, mediocre story, decent soundtrack, fantastic gameplay and map design but all gaidens are awful, characters are pretty good

I can't choose between those 3 which is the definitive best, but fe4's my personal favorite

Echoes, easily. People shit on it because they didn't update the maps too much, but that isn't actually a problem since the game is still fun Celica has a few dumb moments in her route but the characters and world building makes up for it. Echoes is the gold standard for the series so far, every detail was perfectly crafted and you really feel the love the devs put into it. The next game will probably be toothpaste-chan's game, but hope to god they find a team as passionate about an FE4 Echoes as the Valentia team was about its game (and they get Hidari back).
