I think without even knowing anything about it I know its a clone of every rts ever doing nothing new
Why do you non RTS fans fans even bother to post in the first place? You're acting worse than women with the "I have an opinion!1!!" bullshit
found the asiatic clicking moron
Go back to your hentai 2D pedo shit threads
stfu asiatic go back to your gay sc2 threads
Did I hurt your feelings Onii-chan?
asiatics have little dicks
Just the way you like 'em, pedo
tiny dick asiatic cuckold
You're the one who hates rts. Take your Clone and frick off
>literally no games coming in the genre
>one game comes out with clear C&C inspiration
>"NOOO!!!! HOW CAN IT BE SIMILAR TO OTHER SUCESFULL GAMES IN THE GENRE?!?!"
If you actually played rts games you would know a shitton are coming, including some fantastic ones moving the genre forward mr developer scammer.
>Coming
>1 medicore game that's out with mixed reviews and 2 unreleased games
So yea my point stands, the genre barely has anything going for it right now, as I said. Thanks for literally confirming
>literally no games coming
>many games coming posted
>th-that was my point
Shush scamlet no one is going to buy your second rate c&c clone when you abandon other projects
the cute delusional "you must be a dev" strawman in substitute of an argument
IGoP is most definietly fricking Moba, and crossfire is f2p crap with mixed reviews, War Party also has medicore reviews so the post proves nothing
>1v1
>make economy and army to fight opponent
>moba
you literally don't have a point you're just shitposting in the thread lmao
Okay my mistake, was hard to tell from the incredibly generic looking screenshots and since it's defined as a "battle strategy". Looking at it now it's a pre-alpha game with like two very basic trailers, sorry but I still don't feel like the genre is saved
>you would know a shitton are coming
>Lol, lmao even. We have a shitton coming
Guess how I know you're the same poster
Name 3
Lol, lmao even. We have a shitton coming.
>literally no games coming in the genre
Nice try fricking scamer.
There is that medieval village simulator coming too, with small scale TW combat, forgot the name of it.
rts is dead....
>moba
>rts
See this is why I hate this fricking board sometimes
It's Manor Lords and that's even further off from CoH or even Homeworld. Maybe EA by the end of the year if we're lucky
literally none of the games in that image are moba, you're a moron
Thats the one, looks godlike tho.
So help me out. Why are they making these FRICKING mobile game RTS lookalikes???
No RTS player wants it, and if you only target mobile anyway you dont even have to masquarede as an RTS mobile players dont care about it.
>underage morons infesting this site were born so late that the only thing that comes to their mind when they see a 3D RTS is mobile games
What's the maximum amount of fricking units on screen do you see in the trailer?
Trust the objective opinion of the CEO.
Kek, then why didn't they show that instead of have the gay close ups on the mooks? That guy is a funny one
Frick it, i played Dune 2 on PC when it came out im maybe not the oldest on this site but could be a father to most of you frickin shitposters. This looks like a frickin moblie game, the suoer zommed in perspective, the 5 units on screen... Hell Dune 2 had more units and space.
>underage morons infesting this site were born so late that the only thing that comes to their mind when they see a 3D RTS is mobile games
yeah, those look like fricking shit, mate
>Trailer literally states "Classic RTS Strategy returns"
Yeah, black skinned individual with an IQ of 2 digits, I guess this is a classic strategy game
Besides AoE IV, what was the last classic RTS we had?
This, this is why RTS died. People who liked the micro aspect went to MOBAs because they do micro better and evolved that aspect. The macro autists went to 4x and grandstrat, which also expanded and innovated on those aspects. Also the simulationgays went to games like Graviteam Tactics or Men of War.
Who the frick wants to play another C&C clone? I played dozens of them in the 90s and early 2000s, I'm fricking bored of them.
>non-RTS fans
Where were the RTS fans for Grey Goo or other similar attempts at reviving RTS? You homosexuals are like arenagays, you pretend to like RTS for boomer internet cred but you will always find an excuse to not actually play them when someone does make a new one.
>You homosexuals are like arenagays, you pretend to like RTS for boomer internet cred but you will always find an excuse to not actually play them
Is this a joke? Do you have NO fricking self awareness what so ever?
Your same fricking post:
>Who the frick wants to play another C&C clone? I played dozens of them in the 90s and early 2000s, I'm fricking bored of them.
YOU are the problem. YOU are the one talking about how he is a cool big RTS fan while endlessly making fricking excuse why not to play the new ones. It's literally in the same fricking post. How do you accuse someone else of doing something you admit doing in the SAME. FRICKING. POST?
>Grey Goo
Dude Grey Goo is fricking dogshit, and is basically tic tac toe as far as I am concerned.
So far nothing tops Planetary Annihilation: Titans in the RTS space.
Oh look, another indie rip off of more successful game. Frick off.
>Indie
It's clearly an AA game. What kind of indies do you play?
>Faction represented by cheesy villain dialogue
Kino
>classic rts inspired
But we have classic rts games. We have so fricking many.
Give me something revolutionary. Not derivative. Its 2022 and we're still stuck on a flat 2D battlefield.
>Its 2022 and we're still stuck on a flat 2D battlefield
Making games more complex does not make them more fun, anon.
>Making games more complex does not make them more fun, anon.
Motherfricker, yes it does, especially when it comes to strategy games, a genre that is mostly plyed by hight IQ white males.
Who wants a casualized RTS game? Who the frick is the target audience for this`? You think zoomers are going to pick this up? Fricking women are gonna start playing strategy games? LMAO
Here'S a recipe for an einstant success strategy game: just combine the resouce gathering of factorio with an rts. every unit has some components that you first need production chains for, perhaps you can churn out more cheap electronics for shittier units, etc
that is fun, that is fresh, that is ocmplex, not this fricking 10000000th iteration fo C&C or company of heroes
I dont even want a pvp rts, i just want a good campaign where i can turtle for 2 hours while slowly grinding into the enemy bases
Unfortunately this game looks pretty soulless
>i just want a good campaign where i can turtle for 2 hours while slowly grinding into the enemy bases
seethe more asiatic, esports and muh APM garbage murdered RTS
t.
>APMgays
Souless
>Muh campaing for 20-30 hours and go to next game
Souless as well.
You think that having to manually set up production lines for everything is "fun"? In a genre where having a slightly larger army than your opponent usually means you win the game? Christ on a fricking bike go have a nice day. Complexity should be emergent, not designed.
yeah nah that sounds awful. Literally taking the worst part of the games - babysitting your economy - and making it more involved and more tiresome.
this
what you need is to make the combat and tactics part more engaging and let the players execute their strategy in an enjoyable way
I like what they did with Zero-K that units are not brainless fricks that either don't give a frick or are following the enemy back to their base when they are attacked. This makes you able to pay more attention elsewhere where it is important and not play most of the game zooming around like a korean starcraft player on speed babysitting every single unit. In a sense this is true to SupCom too because there you spend most of the time zoomed out because that is just optimal and more useful.
>Give me something revolutionary. Not derivative. Its 2022 and we're still stuck on a flat 2D battlefield
>wow a new game
>40gb worth of shitty graphics
into the trash it goes
It's an obvious command and conquer ripoff and that's cool. The villain will almost certainly not be as charismatic as Kane though so that sucks.
>NOOOOOOO WHY CAN'T DEVELOPERS JUST MAKE NORMAL RTS LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYZ NONE OF THIS MOBA GARBAGE
>*developers make normal classic CnC rts*
>NOOOOO THIS ISN'T NEW(tm). MY DOPAMINE ADDICTED BRAIN NEEDS "NEW" THING
None of you were going to play it either way
Because morons who are not able to do something of their own and simply copy others are not liked anywhere. It is one thing to draw inspiration and quite another to use copy paste.
You say that and yet this place will literally eat up anything as soon as you slap an anime skin on top of a shitty clone
Projecting much?
No. This plays love playing shitty pedo games like Code Vein and Genshin Impact, then when a thread pops up that's actually about a new video game and not some generic hentai 2D game, you get a bunch pseudo-intellectuals claiming that it's generic, unoriginal and boring despites not even having played that game's genre before
you are a worthless moron
Projecting Black
>NOOOOOOO WHY CAN'T DEVELOPERS JUST MAKE NORMAL RTS LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYZ NONE OF THIS MOBA GARBAGE
Nah, I want more SupCom and TA like games.
Not that I'm opposed to OP's vid, I simply have no opinion of it atm. I will say I despise classic SC to some extent.
It looks nice so far, but I wish infantry models weren't so hueg. They look x0.9 the size of buildings and vehicles and its a bit silly.
wow what a creative and unique looking new rts!
Looks neat.
I hope it doesn't get cucked by Tiberian Sun/RA2 remastered getting announced out of nowhere.
I don't believe in RTS
It looks kino fren.
We wait.
Looks like this company has only ever done ports, so my faith isn't very high.
No, sorry, they've only ever done ports and 1 actual game... Graven. A boomer-shooter meme game that seems like it's permanently stuck in buy-in-beta stage.
But these gays are already announcing like 2 more games it looks like without even having finished their first one that isn't even high production quality to begin with?
Nah mate. I have more faith in that "Frost Giant" studio that's filled with the people who made SC2 HoTS/LoTV and Warcraft3 Refunded. And I have no faith in them to begin with.
Holy shit this is the graven lot?
100% confirmed scam game. Those devs are scam artists.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1486920/Tempest_Rising/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1371690/GRAVEN/
Changing their Steam ID by removing the 'TM' so people dont see they ripped off people with their last games and bailed mid development. Fricking lol.
I didn't even see that part lmao. I just looked into the studio because the steam page for Tempest Rising, as you pointed out, linked a studio with absolutely nothing to its name. But the wikipedia page listed a bunch of random shit they've ported + Graven.
there's a bunch of teams working under 3D realms/THQ nordic, they basically hired a shit ton of indie people so dev is slow as frick
I'm not going to pretend I'm a C&C fan, but I'm not really feeling this one.
they keep making these shitty clones of c&c and sc not realising no one likes them but a noisey minority.
They predictably flop because the noisey minority doesn't like them.
after C&C remastered I'm buttered up for a nice C&C clone
>morons don't get that the issue is it's a blatant C&C ripoff
>morons think the problem is it being classic RTS
>blatant cnc ripoff
>issue
Why the frick would that be an issue?
If EA can't be fricked to make a new god damn cnc, let someone else do it.
You are also a gayet.
Mite b kewl
mite not b
>Non pozzed C&C clone
I'll give it a chance
Dead genre until someone surpasses supcom.
> 2022
> RTS
Sorry I'm too old and casual for what RTS turned into. I'd prefer it turn based.
looks like a russian/chinese scam
They're Danish scammers who dump early access garbage.
It's german, even has german dub.
looks like shit. those proportions look ass.
If this is a true C&C General successor I cant wait for all the mentally ill zoomers to cry about the game here before killing themselves ACK!
looks more like tib sun/red alert/c&c3 than generals
LMAO
THQ really does not know how to do anything but reskin company of heroes do they. Lemme guess half the assets are going to be just reused again.
I think that game's potential will be wasted due to boring factions.
According to the steam page
>it features 3 unique factions, each with its own approach to combat and economy and offering a variety of strategies for players of all stripes
If they actually do have unique resource mechanics, it might help spice things up. I don't have many expectations, though.
Probably the non-GDI and the non-Nod just have different harvesters and maybe some different resource gathering upgrades while the non-Scrin will have some more outlandish way of gathering resources.
Le non gdi faction.
Le non brotherhood of nod
Le non Kane evil mysterious dude
Le non tiberium resource
Le non scrin mysterious 3rd faction related to the non tiberium
Really, frick this, it's worse than that non dune game.
>No good C&C games in decades because the studio gets killed
>A game comes out with aspirations to be like C&C
>Nobody likes it because it's like C&C
If every homosexual actually thought like this no games would ever get made. Botw would just be hailed as a Skyrim clone.
Even the dumbest anons here could have come up with an original game setting better than this lawyer friendly rip off.
The visuals look pretty up close but seems like it will be a pain to actually distinguish and play during gameplay.
>No women
>No minorities
>No homo/troony shit
Sounds good to me, I will keep an eye on it.
>No women
So pic related is a femboy? That's based.
I missed that. Into the trashpile it goes with the rest of the current year games then. Thanks for the save friend.
You're welcome.
Strong planetside2 vibe.
Imagine if they have an option to control units personally like in C&C renegade, this game would be insane as an FPS / RTS. However, thats just a pipe dream since the AI for both genre are wildly different from each other.
The dream as a kid, but every time I've played a game/mod that tried mixing rts with single unit control has been meh to awful.
This is because they tried to combine action and micro-control. This is impossible, if you want action, then the AI should be independent and handle himself
It mostly worked in Battlezone and Sacrifice.
The action was not so intense and also in Sacrifice AI was quite independent. But all attempts to combine strategy and shooter where you can't even stick your head out cover is floped.
I bet there's still a measly 200 unit cap, though if we count the units that are counted as more than one, even less than that lmao.
"""RTS""" games that don't even allow >3000 units per match may as well not be RTS, and are merely glorified RTT games.
Cool but is it focused on multiplayer, "the community" and esports? Will it have competitive seasons with 3 types of battle pass?
Looks like they are trying to copy C&C, the red stuff is tiberium
Any good modern RTS inspired by mech commander
Why would an RTS be inspired by a RTT game? Unless you're talking about the setting?
a real time strategy calling itself "classic" is seriously a fricking dead-on-arrival warning siren. i dont want classic, i want something fricking new after many years of the genre being stagnant as shit.
Music too much DOOM 2016 not enough Klepacki.
Yeah it sounded too much like djent to me. Expecting Klepacki is too much, he's a musical genius, one in a million.
>bottom left of pic related
WTF is wrong with unit proportions. The soldier with the flame thrower looks huge when compared to the tank. The gameplay clips in the trailer seems to confirm that the unit sizes are messed up.
Similarly in pic related screenshot the soldiers seem as tall as the truck lol.
>unit size
Might be due to wierd camera angles.
seems alright.
C&C 3 did it best with unit proportions, just copy that, how hard could it be?
>guys lying prone 5 feet from each other and shooting with cap guns for 5 minutes until they die
old-school rts games died for a reason, they are fricking moronic
play RTT like men of war or grand strategy or 4x instead of this shit
>tank and rifleman trading shots for a minute before eventually the rifleman dies and the tank is left with 10%HP
Riveting.
What game are you describing?
The vast majority of C&C-likes and other traditional RTS, why?
Oh, never mind, I thought you meant those RTT games, and it didn't make sense to me.
>No soulful FMV cutscenes with satire and objectified women
I wish it was influenced more by Red Alert than tiberium wars but beggars can't be choosers eh?
soulless without hot chicks
>What do you think?
Tastosis are shilling for this game so I'm torn between it's gonna be great and it's utter trash
Can't see shit. Have they never played RTS before?
They probably have ugly outlines to highlight selected units. The devs are not really a trustworthy bunch (look at their previous games). THQ Nordic is the only thing providing credibility to this game.
This is something almost all games suffer from these days, they don't know when to fricking stop adding effects. The artists or directors who push this to production have no idea or dont care how obnoxious this is. Older games and designers understood this perfectly.
If they dont clean up their art-style I'm just not gonna bother, this is looks like vomit.
This, honestly. Developers need to realise that sometimes less is more. Having units be quickly and easily identifiable is very important. As much as I want a new RTS to play, something that's trying to look like a UE3 tech demo ain't it.
but it looks le epic and also unlock unit limit cap and give 1000k all resources on a single corridor or turtle map for glorious huge battle omg xD
I'm more interested in The Valiant. I was never super keen on the C&C style games though.
>The Valiant
>Squad based historical RTT game
Ngmi. It would hard flop because it just isn't interesting enough.
Nah there's plenty of room to make it interesting.
In C&C, GDI & Brotherhood of Nod are cool factions.
But im not sure if just copy+paste them should be a good idea. Unless the developers spice the game factions in both gameplay, aesthetic & in lore, it will possibly feel like just bootleg version of GDI & Nod.
Post your epic new idea for a rts game to liven up the genre
NOD GDI bros we're going to a new home
Ok contrarian homosexuals, how would you make a RTS in current year?
Combine Planetary Annihilation: Titans with Homeworld space combat.
There you go, a way forward for RTS.
All the units will be animals with guns attached to them. One of the most common units will be a dog that whimpers and whines as it gets shot at and dies. This will get the game attention which will ride it to succes.
>contrarian
>hurr u cant criticise unless you do it yourself durr
have a nice day you lightswitch brained moron, you dont even know what that word means , you just spout random words because you're too stupid to form coherent thoughts.
company of heroes except with vampires and wizards and necromancers etc
Go full polschizo with factions and lore.
>United States of Israel
>Antarctic 3rd Reich Enclave
>European Emirates
>Nation of Islam
>tomb of Yakub as mcguffin
Pretty much just Starcraft Broodwar except multiple buildings can be put on one hotkey and new workers automine.
Xcom style campaign with generals and vanguard units that you risk losing each mission, and a campaign tech tree thats way longer and more diverse than what you have in a single match. Also give it a cool setting like schizo fantasy ww2 with nazi occultism, coked up futurist italians driving supersonic armored cars, scottish noblemen with haunted suits of armor, etc
>What do you think?
Hard to judge since I dont know the studios involved. But it mite be cool.
looks good a likely buy for me.
Wake me up of RTS hypersleep when someone develops a good interaction between air units and ground units other than
>Muh Airstrike
>Muh x and z axis, frick y because we lazy
Ding Ding Ding!
Your alarm has been going off since 2007
Looks okay I guess. I'll probably play i-
>2023
holy frick who CARES
>3D Realms
>Release 2023
Aka delayed until Q3 2024
Looks mid tbh, graphics don't matter compared to silhouettes and instant readability for RTS
Also while it looks sort of command and conquer-ish its missing all the really flavourful options like zeppelins, squids or attack dogs
>another console-port looking C&C4 clone
High IQ whites play SupComFAF and wannabe asiaticclickers play AoE2. Such is the state of affairs for a reason. Mayhaps all these talentless hacks should get the fricking hint already.
(You)
Get cancer and die, Gankerranny. Eternal goyim born and raised. "Pretend" to be moronic for pointless replies until the world around you goes up in flames and you expire from the mRNA, maggot.
some kraut has gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUZLcvgmnjo
Looks good
Blizzard ruined RTS, much like everything else they touched. Prove me wrong.
We will NEVER have a better RTS than Supcom and we will NEVER have interesting RTS games like whatever the frick Petroglyph were doing pre 2010.
Side note, we will never have a sequel to Universe at War: Earth Assault and idk how to cope.
Supcom really understood how strategy should go towards automation, allowing you to focus on important and fun things, the actual strategy in real time strategy
And on the opposite end of the spectrum you have starcrafart 2 clickfest cancer, epitomized by spawn larvae or chrono boost, possibly the dumbest, most pointless apm bloat 'mechanics'.
>He can't stop pushing his favourite game
I may reinstall SupCom, I barely played it. How do I git gud at it? I remember don't knowing what I was doing.
Compstompers are subhumans
There's only 1 (one) high IQ RTS game left alive and it's CoH2
Compstomp is automatically brainless and Starcraft 2 is just high APM check
CoH mixes good strategies, tactics, dexterity and quick thinking.
Don't even (You) me if you never ranked for 2 digits in 1vs1
Accurate
Also I genuinely believe an rts that's not based around capture points or some other way of forcing constant combat between players just won't work these days.
Sure, pros duke it out constantly in starcraft to wrestle for an advantage, but the truth is that for average player the games in classic rts look like this - 30 mins of boring building up, then one battle that ends the match. People nowadays won't sit through that when they can have constant adrenaline pumping in a Moba or really anything else.
The main issue imo is that a game like this needs to be developed, designed and especially changed mid development and in post release patches after enough public and closed testing to correctly work and so cultivate a playerbase, and this doesn't work in the modern gaming industry tuned to pump out titles.
CoH3 seem to have nailed this aspect at least since the devs already ran 1vs1 and 2vs2 tourneys to tweak gameplay elements and take balance notes (unless Sega goes under with Hyenas). When you make a true strategy game, where asymmetrical factions in asymmetrical maps battle with different tactics that need to match and give each player a reasonable and as balanced as possible fair amount of chances to win you realize just how complex making strategy games is.
Supcom worked because of that good design but the sequel that on paper was better completely botched both the strategic/macromanagement/faction balance elements.
