I don't think I ever played a bad version of te...oh wait...tetris worlds. Anyways I think tetris party is my favorite mainly because it includes bombliss.
I grew up playing tetris on the gameboy. Either this or the NES one is what I would suggest. Modern feels weird to me, could never get comfortable with the hold feature.
Is tetris holding legit tetris owner and didn't just took the name first? There are no other tetris games with that name, the brick game and shit
also >started playing tetris last week >seen three threads already for the first time in a year
If you wanna be an autist, i guess one of the many versions of grandmaster but i never really got what exactly made that subseries so great.
But all in all, the version you are the most comfortable playing. I usually stick to online because i can just type in and play, but i also dip into PPT or vs online and i used to play 99 when i had online.
Currently trying to break the 1 million mark. Post your high score, senpai.
>And i was happy with my 91k highscore
Don't feel bad, that score is mostly the result of autism grinding for a couple years, it hasn't changed in months. Besides, as the other anon said, its about having fun. >Do you play with mouse or keyboard?
Keyboard. Tried mouse once out of morbid curiosity but it feels so off to play, I just can't get comfortable with it.
I am playing keyboard with some switched binding but i feel like it gets impossible once it hits a certain speed. I wonder how it feels to play with a controller.
Pro rollers that can consistently get to 260 lines play with original controllers, and everything, but getting so high isn't even that fun at that point because you barely can physically react, tetris mechanics aren't really complicated, so you can play with whatever really unless you wanna go pro, I got to 150k on the phone just by playing it for fun for a week
It is 20% rng, 50% autism and 30% mechanic skill, these people simply don't make that one crucial mistake where you get one fucking hole and it piles up into a tower, or at least skilled enough to get out from it, but I think tetris is kind of has the built in function to turn one mistake into multiple
tgm2+ is not just the best tetris game, it's a masterpiece and one of the best games ever made. this isn't even just my weirdly specific opinion, it's an objective truth
this is the best i could do in a few attempts without using hold and deliberate t-spin setups. i fucking hate tetris.com, it feels so gross to play
The Grandmaster series is the best raw Tetris experience you'll ever get if you're willing to put in the time to learn the games, the handling is great, the visuals get better with each game and the mechanics make perfect sense and feel natural. It made me never play guideline again >t. guy who actually plays
>t. guy who actually plays
post one of your best scores lol
>I also have an m in TAP
if what you're saying isn't fake and gay, then download texmaster or something and start grinding away at that stupid m roll. i swear it isn't that bad
Tetris Effect is the best SRS game.
Outside of that, tie between TGM3 and SEGA Tetris on the Dreamcast.
Anyone who says either Puyo Puyo Tetris game is a retard, and I say this as a Puyo player. It's not a good Tetris or Puyo game.
tgm3 is inferior to 2, but you get bonus points for mentioning dc sega tetris
>3 is inferior to 2
Depends on what you prefer, to me shirase>death any day, and both master modes are equally as dumb in different ways >texmaster
Feels laggy in comparison to mame, I prefer using the debug cheat >picrel Did you know there's a community leaderboard? It's run by a discord group though so I understand if that's a turnoff
death is peak tetris imo, whereas shirase is too fast and slippery and focused on stupid gimmicks like the rising garbage for me to find it fun for more than a couple attempts, especially since i fucking hate hold
i'm not great at noticing input lag but honestly texmaster feels better to play than tgm3 for me, maybe it's a problem with my specific pc or windows or something. i need to try playing tgm2 in vanilla mame again though yes, i'm not submitting anything until i have stuff that i actually think is worth submitting. i know i can get an orange line in tap master if i grind hard enough for example, i just haven't bothered doing it yet
"The New Tetris" for N64?
this game is also great, even though i just said i hate hold and it technically introduced it

I like shirase more since having hold and the extra previews means I have more control of my movement, the stupid speed is also a plus honestly. I'm still not the best at "traditional" ARS so I can't fully enjoy death as much as others why? Green line gm is already a great score. By the way this is gonna sound a bit autistic but can I at least know your initials?

i'm the opposite, i'm an ars supremacist and i prefer the pure challenge of 20g stacking at brutal speeds with one piece preview + no hold than the direction shirase and tgm3 in general went in. to be fair, mihara basically needed to introduce crutches like hold to make tgm3 as fast as it is, and it's what most people seem to prefer, it's just not something i really care for. personally i think if you've gotten m in tap master then you should be able to get death m fairly easily, if you haven't done it already i have an inferiority complex + i haven't decided on my initials yet...
I haven't touched tetris.com in ages but this is my highest recorded on there.
I'm pretty sure this was like 2 or 3 levels into when lock delay starts reducing, could probably get a higher score if I went out of my way to farm points in the earlier levels but I also hate tetris.com
Thoroughly enjoying Tetris Effect Connected I just wish I had gotten it earlier because the online seems to be completely dead
outside of that, NES and DS seem to be the purest visions, honorable mention to Tetris Axis for 3DS and that Worlds game where you get to customize a cute little cube fella
>looking up tetris setups >find Extra T-Spin Cannon >you can almost always set it up in the first bag unless you open green Z and T piece back to back
Ok >If you don't get the dead end, you get a guaranteed 3 t-spins
Ok >there's a 100% chance to perfect clear once you fire off the 3rd t-spin
Seems good >there are 153 combinations for this
You lost me.
Man i always thought that Tetris was one of these games that are important for the histoy of gayming but not a very good video game until i actually tried it these days and its actually pretty fun.
It is the perfect game you need no in-game nor outside lore, knowledge, experience, anything. Very few puzzle games require such little onboarding while having nearly limitless potential.
Is there a better option for playing NES-style tetris online with random people besides Tetris Effect? Not sure if it's just me but there are never any people online. I have the Microsoft Store version of Tetris Effect tho, does the Steam version have more active servers for people playing NEStris?
Tetris Effect's multiplayer is pretty great, so I'd say either Effect or DS for all the extra modes
Tetr.io kicks ass but goddamn the people playing the Tetris99-style battle royale mode are absolute demons.
I frequently get first in Tetris 99 lobbies so I was looking for a greater challenge but I didn't think I would regularly be placing bottom 5 lmao. Really opened my eyes to just how big the Tetris world really is

For PS4/PS5:
Tetris Effect Connected for multiplayer and PPT 2 for couch multi and learning spins and openers with its lessons mode. Also dipped my toes with TGM2PLUS but after clearing all trophies I decided to go back to TEC to get SS on Master mode.
For my hacked Vita its Heboris(TGM3 Clone with full settings customisation) and GBA Apotris (for finesse training)
On PC it's TETR.IO for multiplayer, jstris for practice on custom maps and tetresse for finesse training.
Ez for all the releases except for ps4 where you need to get ss everywhere fml with sprint, I've been playing for few years on and off and only manage 1:25 in sprint with 9-0 stacking. Tried 6-3 and it works in multiplayer but cant manage to be faster than with 9-0 in sprint
Pretty crazy how most copycats got purged out of existence once the original creator founded the Tetris Company whose primary purpose is apparently vengeance for not profiting from the idea sooner.
For instance, there isn't a single good tetromino game on Android - apart from maybe Falling Lightblocks that you have to manually grab the .apk for because it's no longer on the store. Meanwhile, the officially licensed mobile Tetris has the worst monetization scheme you've ever seen.
Four wide isn't as dominant due to updated attack table, but personally I've found the netcode to be worse compared to 1. Puyo v Tetris might have been rebalanced as well but I'm not sure.
>Play tetris on keyboard since a kid cause PC only >Be decent >Try on controller/arcade stick >Play like absolute dogshit
How to fix. I've played for hours at this point on controller and im still not very good

I love tetris worlds and effects

Tetris Friends
Tetris CDI.
Great soundtrack
Unique visuals
TGM2+
TGM3 if you want modern mechanics
NES if you can mash
Tetris & Dr Mario for SNES
Tetris 99 and Tetris for the NES
>tetris for nes
Which one?
Still find it strange how they didn't include a 2 player mode in the Nintendo version.
i tried it out, it's alright but I still like the one for the wii better simply because of the controls.
you can cut tetrominoes out of paper and make sound effects and hum the music whilst you drop them on a makeshift board
99 and NES.

Tetris on 3+ speed is as tense as any rts game, way beyond any shooter or moba

dont worry dude, its about fun you have whilst doing so

which one does sui-chan play?
99 and PPT, as far as i know.
That's how she got her fame as a queen of the game.

tetr.io is still the champ for unrestricted play, plus it's fucking free

This, but she also gets undressed/fucked the more progress you make.

I can stand by that tetris is among the most intense games out there, the amount of decisions you have to do in fraction of a second is very engaging
Is there a better option for playing NES-style tetris online with random people besides Tetris Effect? Not sure if it's just me but there are never any people online. I have the Microsoft Store version of Tetris Effect tho, does the Steam version have more active servers for people playing NEStris?
Fight me
The only one I've played.
When you finish on the highest and get a space shuttle launch cutscene

Is it that old? zoomers must have played it when they were like 6 at least right?

Also Techmino with DS4 for mobile
Tetris effect connected is great.

For a split second here due the color scheme i though that the bottom right one was a recreation of 'Cado's ass.
