>I can only imagine how horrifically bad a modern starcraft 3 would be
All the marines are strong women of color who congratulate each other on their girl power every time a zergling dies.
Any white man in a military position is grossly incompetent and secretly a fascist working against the human faction to take it over.
The protoss are all 90% female except they have no breasts, asses or anything that would identify them as sexually dimorphic from males. They just announce they're female and have lesbian protoss relationships.
This game proved to me forever that all the "story doesn't matter in videogames" cliches are nonsense. SC2 was in almost every way an upgrade over the previous game but the story decisions were so underwhelming that it soured everyone on Starcraft.
>SC2 was in almost every way an upgrade over the previous game
no. multiplayer people had a lot to say about the mechanics. Also story really doesnt matter until you get offensively bad like blizzard did in SC2.
thank god, the story went down the drain around the end of wings of liberty, not to mention the shitty art style it brought in comparison to BW
at least the gameplay was solid and theres tons of mods and missions if i want more of that
What would a new SC game bring to the table?
The story is finished and I can't see a new game bringing any interesting mechanics.
SC RPG would be interesting but that was never on the table.
Is there a more pathetic fall from grace as Blizzard's? They literally had the entire world in their scope and they fucking missed. Jesus. Absolutely pitiful.
Their entire company was based around the ideas of a handful of Gen X dudes in jeans and sneakers. They spun gold in the early days of PC gaming. Once they made their fortunes and left, the company had nothing but twenty-somethings with no talent whose dreams were to "work for Blizzard" that Activision hired on the cheap.
The Blizzard bus is cruising by on the fumes of their old IPs, which are running out of fans under 40. Once they can't exploit the old fans, the whole thing is going to dry up and probably be killed off or sold to Tencent.
It's pathetic in the sense that they QUITE LITERALLY sold out. In retrospect, their entire decline can be traced back to the Activision buyout/merger. The company was NEVER the same after that. I bet Morhaime is happy - he effectively sold the top and got out, but it's horribly depressing for anyone who even
remotely cares about Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo to see what has become of them

Yeah Blizzard is dead, but I don't think it is the new generation of onions devs, they are probably unavoidable nowadays.
The merge with Activision just killed them from the inside, they were never the same after that.
It is one of the hardest fall from grace I ever experienced though.Blizzard truly had the world in their palm, only to be a total shell of their former self.
Given how bad Starcraft 2 was, and how Blizzard has only managed to get EVEN WORSE since then, I don't know that I even want a new Starcraft game. It's unfortunate. Never thought I would feel that way, but SC2 was not good and Blizzard just clearly isn't up to the task anymore. MOBAs took over, and this is part of the reason
SC2 1v1 was ass because people think real-time means the game has to be as fast as possible. That's why matches revolve around worker kills, why everyone deathballs their army, why lategame is so rare now, why the maps had to become so fucking big, it's all ass and no strategy.
Yeah, they tried to fix it starting with more workers at the beginning. But they are still forcing Mules, chrono boosting and injections. It's so annoying, and apparently they didn't remove it because of the community whining.
I hope that M$ overhauls this game. Its interface is very outdated and it's still showing some entranced of old tourneys. The game is good, but the engine needs some bug fixes, like the anti-aliasing not working. It's still a great game.
>I hope that M$ overhauls this game.
There may actually be a chance of that if they throw the game to the studio that maintains the Age of Empires games.
That would be great, I'm also hoping that they'll hire the HotS team back and revive the game, since M$ doesn't have any MOBA and I'm 100% sure that the game is profitable.

Also, I forgot to say, but have you seen their survey about WarCraft III? They literally used the word "soft relaunch" of Reforge and throughout the survey they were talking about remaking the graphics, scenarios, bug fixes and so on.
At the end of the day M$ buying it may be a good thing.
I didn't like StarCraft 2 that much. I don't think I like any of the modern takes and designs of the units, I fell in love with the units in StarCraft and a lesser extent in Broowdwar. StarCraft 2 felt like Blizzard took the most soulless dorky route possible when it came to designing their units. I think they took a massive shit on the franchise with SC2. It just makes me think of Nintendo, how do they keep producing content and games for their old IPs without turning them into giant fucking turds like Blizzard has, mad respect to those cardboard wearing dweebs, least they have games to play that don't seem like their making fun of you
promise?
Blizzard butchered SC lore so much in Legacy of the Void I don't even want another one.
>i play rts games for the story DUUURRRRRRRRRR
Remember how bad heart of the swarm and legacy of the voids story got?
That was before videogames heavily declined so I can only imagine how horrifically bad a modern starcraft 3 would be, just leave it to rest in peace.

Unfortunately very realistic
Leave it like that, dude. I don't want another StarCraft game considering how nowadays Blizzard is shit.

The custom game system soured me the most. Made it impossible for less popular maps to catch on.
thank god, the story went down the drain around the end of wings of liberty, not to mention the shitty art style it brought in comparison to BW

pvp will be dead in a few months anyway. after that sweaty Koreans will take over pvp anyway.
SC2 sucked and SC3 would be even worse
Considerring how pozzed boizz is. Its for the better they don't rape it any further.
Also how the fuck do i use thors? I swear this things are made of paper.
could easily make a greatest hit, who knows

Blizzard was sold out by Vivendi (Bolloré mafia), not Morhaime.

All the singleplayer campaigns were long-ass tutorials on how to use new units. There's no expansion pack like Brood War either.
SC2 sucks.
In the few WoL missions I played, almost all units were campaign exclusive and unavailable in ladder.
we'll never gonna construct additional pylons anymore, but it's probably for the best.

Maybe Stormgate is going to be good
>f2p
Oh, nevermind.
Thank God
SC2 is the equivalent of nuStar Wars
With Microsoft's development cycle don't expect another Starcraft for the next 25 years kek.
Is there a giant mod pack + custom maps available for SC1 anywhere?
SC2 1v1 was ass because people think real-time means the game has to be as fast as possible. That's why matches revolve around worker kills, why everyone deathballs their army, why lategame is so rare now, why the maps had to become so fucking big, it's all ass and no strategy.
SC2 is slow. The first 2 minutes of every game is staring at workers and the maps are as big as a continent.
Yeah, they tried to fix it starting with more workers at the beginning. But they are still forcing Mules, chrono boosting and injections. It's so annoying, and apparently they didn't remove it because of the community whining.

Warhammer is cooler anyways.
