This is close to the correct answer. You allude to the existence of such characters but leave it nonspecific. Can also justify by alluding to the nature of such struggles as being kept to oneself.

      The only fricking answer
One of my last uni subjects (went back to finish a couple of years ago after starting well before that) was about writing for children and fricking hell the amount of time we spent pontificating about the lack of diversity in books for toddlers was infuriating. We had to do some kind of diary for one of the assignments and I wound up just saying (more politely) that the reason we don't write about Black folk is that we don't have any so how the frick can I represent that experience? I could tell the guy didn't want to be teaching it as he actually accepted my point of view and it felt like he agreed with a lot.
Like what the frick do they expect us to do?
Write more stories about minorities but also don't write them because that's appropriation, write your own stories no you're over-represented in a white country full of white people.
Basically just lie down and die by the sounds of it. It made no fricking sense. Every fricking class was like this.

You cannot be "cancelled" if you have a multimillion selling game and an audience that liked it anon. A bunch of shitfit tantrums on twitter or gaming journo homosexuals crying is meaningless. Banks and payment providers will not take any action against you just because you didn't have nogs in your game yet.
You say "because i made what i wanted and what my audience wanted, and if you keep asking stupid shit you'll be declined for interview requests in future". Then you make another game for the people who actually cared about the game and keep catering to them.
Gabe won't do shit to you, nobody will impede you, unless you're somehow getting funded in part by micropajeet or sony you do not have to even worry about any of this bullshit.
If you REALLY wanna piss them off though what you do is you have anime style dark elves or native americans etc where they're clearly darker, but they act nothing like any of that shit irl and they're smoking hot and cool with and have all the same nice features as everyone else but just a different colour. Guaranteed to make them seethe

Why that's a great question. It was heavily deliberated on but ultimately, we decided to shine a light on truly marginalized groups not often seen in media, especially videogames. I'm of course referring to the archtypes our beloved characters might fall into such as the roughhousing and indelicate tomboy and the frail, feminine guy who isn't in touch with his masculinity. People that fall into those groups may feel alone without any positive representation.

      Anonymous

Ultimately, we thought it a great message to show that people aren't just their labels. They shouldn't feel pressured to exist in some restricted role that they can't fall out of! That's why tomboys should feel encouraged to don the frilly, cute dress! As many dresses as they want!

I would not be able to portray their struggles accurately and it would come across as someone from a privileged background speaking out of turn on a subject that I'm not qualified to represent. I will leave that representation to those communities and their games they will develop that will authentically and accurately capture their experiences. I do not want to white-wash their stories and will leave it in their capable hands.
